The Great Kanto Earthquake occurred in 1923. This building was built in 1929, so it was unaffected by the earthquake. It also seems to have survived air raids. After the war, it was requisitioned by GHQ and used as a residence for a high-ranking US military official. It later became government property and was turned into a park. At the entrance, an old lady working there told me not to use selfie sticks. It’s not a selfie stick. There was no sign saying photography was prohibited anywhere, so I resumed filming for a bit. It was a luxurious mansion with over 100 servants. It must have been a nighttime party. I wonder if people overseas would understand what a feudal lord is. I imagine them as high-ranking aristocrats. There is a figure placed there. The servants’ room? This is the maid’s room. I wonder if there was a maid who would make advances on him every night. Please stop, sir. Something like that. It’s probably not from the original construction, but it seems to have been there for quite some time.
