First Impressions Of San Salvador ๐ธ๐ป Should You Come to El Salvador?
Welcome back to the channel guys. Today we
are in a San Salvador and El Salvador and today we’re just going to be exploring.
We’re only here for a few days so we’re kind of going to be in the Zona Rosa area,
San Benito, because people told us this was kind of a cool area to check out. Some
things going on, restaurants, cafes. It is Sunday so I don’t know that a whole lot’s
going to be open but hopefully it is. And by looking at a place like this you know
it’s a nighttime place. Yeah definitely. Yeah for sure. I’m sure this area too
livens up at night. We’re just kind of checking it out in the daytime. Yeah. But
it’s kind of interesting because like I don’t know like just what it looks like on
the maps is that you kind of like go in a road and you kind of go around the road.
It’s not like little circles. Yeah it’s probably little circles. It’s kind of
interesting. So we’re going to kind of walk around see what it’s like and show
you guys also what the city is like. And there’s these cool plants everywhere.
These are so pretty. They’re all over El Salvador. Well oh my gosh um our friend
told me what they are. Oh I forgot the name. He told me agave. Agave plant. Agave
eh? So these are like the tequila plants? Okay. Yep. I was like what is it? It’s not
aloe but it starts with an A. It’s agave yeah. But um. So we just have tequila
everywhere. Yeah tequila everywhere. Yeah we don’t drink it but well I mean
sometimes I do drink it. But look how big did these get? Look at this. Okay so
that’s a different one. Those are different. Okay well he said this. He said
that’s maybe it’s just like a different um type though. Maybe it’s like agave but.
Those ones are so nice. Just like a different I mean there’s lots of types of
yeah there’s a gold and silver and I feel like my hair is looking really flat right
now. That’s why I don’t wear my hair up guys. It never never does what I want it
to. Really beautiful area though. Yeah. So clean and the trees. You tell me not to
bring this up. Well it’s true. You tell me not to bring this up. It’s true. And now
Chase is always the one that says it. The hedges are very tightly groomed. In India
Chase and I were filming a video and we were at this really cool like what was it
was like a castle kind of it was like a palace castle fortress and Chase is like
vlogging and he’s like he’s like wow he’s like those are some tightly groomed hedges
and I was like what did you just say? They were. I was like who said those are some
tightly groomed hedges and ever since then Un momento por favor I’m talking to my friends okay. I’m just
waiting. Talking to my amigos. Anyways Chase really wants to show you guys
something but ever since then in videos I used to always bug him and be like wow
Chase those are some tightly groomed hedges and then he’s like you say that in
every video so then I stopped saying it now he says it in every video. Okay all
right Chase. Check out this gnarly *******. Check out the lump on the tree
guys. No and his tiny little stubby. Check out the growth. Well it’s crazy. This
whole thing is held up by that and goes into this. Yeah. It has a freaking growth
in between. Yeah. It’s almost like a root ball started here. It’s a root ball. Which
is supposed to be down there. It’s cool. Yeah. Looks like what’s on your face all
the time. I know. Making fun of my eczema. No. God. Not your
eczema. And also I didn’t know this but where were we that had we were just in
Guatemala. In Guatemala. I don’t know how to pronounce it. I’ll put like the logo or
the name llaoIIao or llaoIIao but it’s you guys it is my favorite frozen yogurt in
the entire world. Like I would choose that over ice cream and so when they have it in
places it’s it’s a non-negotiable. I’ll get it like almost every day. So we were
in Guatemala and they had it and I nearly freaked out. I got it. It was amazing and
I didn’t think they also had it in El Salvador. We were at a mall yesterday um
and they had it and I was like I’m getting that tomorrow so we’re actually in the
area. They have it. So we’re gonna show you guys us eating some froyo because it’s
freaking amazing. Yeah, what is it that Biscoff Don’t even. I’m trying to be like healthy
so I’m not gonna get the drizzle but you can get all kinds of like drizzles on it
like biscoff pistachio spread chocolate like endless options there’s like
chocolate cookies fruit you can put on it it’s like the options are endless. Wow
they’re doing some construction. Where are we even? I’m like so confused. I think we
have to keep walking this circle. Okay we’re in a dead zone here. We were like oh
we we’ve reached the circle but it’s Sunday fun day. Well there’s a monument
and stuff that you like. I think that’s way over yonder. We’re in the center now.
We’re getting there. We’re getting there. We’re getting there. It’s a long way back
to froyo though. We passed it and I was like we’ll do it later and I’m like we
should have done it right away but then it’s like we’ll be starting with… Can
you start a video with froyo? You could. You could. Yeah. Probably a great way to
start a video. Rather than me just babbling about random things. All right
yeah yeah the trees. Beautiful. I love the red ones. Yeah they’re very nice. Vibrant.
Scattering themselves all over the road. Don’t park your car here. They feel so
modern. The views here are absolutely gorgeous though. Oh my gosh you guys the
view from our Airbnb. I don’t even know. It’s pretty cool. It’s gorgeous. Maybe we
gotta take a nice picture before it gets hazy. It was beautiful this morning. Yeah. It’s just like a single huge glass
building just right front and center. I wonder what is in there. What’s it for?
Maybe work building? But we’re almost at the monument now. I can hear tunes. Yeah
there’s like some music or something going on. Hopefully it’s live music. Oh yeah.
That sounds like it. It kind of does. That would be kind of cool if… oh no it
doesn’t. Shoot. That’s freaking Medusa isn’t it? I don’t know. I’m feeling it.
I’m losing it. Yeah. Nope. So it’s like half live half… there’s something going
on here. Huh. Oh it’s like a little market. Because it’s Sunday maybe but damn
the music. Oh this is not… Okay the audio might get a little rickety guys.
Chase is gonna have to maybe do some magic. We’ll see what happens. Oh it’s
system of a down. All right now we got… wow. Are you kidding me? This is cool.
They’re blasting copyright. People are walking away. It might cost
money. Yeah it does. Let’s investigate at least. I kind of want to go in. Trust. Oh okay. Interesting. They’re doing like a remix.
Yeah. They’re switching it quite often. I think
he’s having fun over there. I don’t think he’s fully invested at the moment. What is
going on? It’s a flea market. Yeah but if you’re going to the museum,
the museum is free but you have to go around. Is it just uh is it just shopping?
Clothes? Mainly yes. Yeah. Okay. Probably not. Yeah okay. Can we look at the at the
monument or no? Can we look at the monument? Oh no. Okay thank you. All right
perfect. All right they got the center shut down today. Awe that sucks. I don’t
even know if I held that camera right there. Um yeah so oh okay so yeah because
I mean he I said it’s mostly just clothes. That’s what I asked him. I don’t know if
you guys could hear if we have to cut it out but uh I have a lot of clothes. Uh we
don’t need more clothes so if it was like more like food and stuff like that maybe
we would do it but yeah so this is the monument. I’ll get like I’ll get the
camera like right in this little this is the monument built in 1955. It’s nice. Oh
I’ll do it. Oh yeah I guess you could yeah you sure. All right built in 1965. 55.
Nice. Look how short she is. I can’t even really see it. I mean like also also if
there wasn’t copyright then I’d be more inclined to go in. Yeah no they’re they’re
just blasting random random songs. Well well well when you walk all this way
to come check out the center but they got it closed off today. That’s uh that’s just
the funny luck of life sometimes. We always say that we do things on Sundays,
and we’re like, why do we do things on Sundays? Because you only have what like two days
in San Salvador and you want to see some stuff. Yeah. You know. I wonder how hard
it would be now to get to. Yeah you have to like it’s so interesting
you have to like walk like check out this map guys. So like we’re here and you have
to like you can’t like you have to like go around these roads. Yeah. And it’s kind of
like you go around these roads and it’s kind of like an interesting little. Yep.
Interesting little situation. You’d think they would have like foot paths for people
but it’s a lot of these little complexes and stuff so I guess maybe they don’t want
people walking in their property. Yeah maybe not. Hey we got this painting too.
Skateboard and gal. All right we’re just walking down this
area now because it looks super pretty. This little walk path and we’ll see if we
run into anything. It’s just so beautiful in this city. Yeah it’s really nice. I
don’t know if there’s like a whole whole lot going on. I know there’s a lot of
malls. If you like a lot of malls. And then also there’s a lot of stuff to do in
the surrounding areas. Like there’s tons of stuff. There’s like 30 minute drive
away. Yeah 30 minute drive away. We don’t really we don’t have a car right now.
We’re not really sure. We’re only here for a short time like I said. And a lot of the
stuff closes pretty early like three o’clock. So the weather’s been kind of a
little hit and miss. Looks better now but I don’t know if we’re gonna have time to
do any of that stuff well were here. Because we’re just gonna fly out somewhere else.
We’ll see you soon. This is like a condo building almost looks
like or maybe a hotel. That’s a big bus. That is a big bus.
That’s like the one that we just went on. It was the best bus we’ve ever been on.
You want to try and get the seats right on the second second row. Yeah on the top
floor. It’s so cool. And right up there there’s two seats and you just get clear
view of everything everything on the road. It’s so cool. But it was called what was
it called? Transporte del Sol. Yeah. Was what the bus company was called. I
think they run in like Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I
think at the start of our Central America trip I was kind of the word complaining is
not the right thing but like mentioning that buses were really really hard to do.
And ever since we left around Nicaragua and the start of Honduras I’ve been able
to book online a lot of stuff. Yeah. So I don’t know if we were just in a certain
little dead zone but like we needed local hookups and a lot of nice people. Yeah. To
get certain things to work. But now it’s been super easy breezy. Yeah. There’s a there’s a Denny’s. Denny’s. Does
anybody actually like Denny’s? I only like the pancakes from Denny’s. And actually
like we we did have them recently and I don’t know if they were as good as I
remember. Only because we used to get the ones that were like dulce de leche. Most
people go to Denny’s at two in the morning. Yeah when they’re like drunk and
want some stuff to sober up. Yeah. But like the flavored pancakes are really
good. But just like the base ones I was like oh they’re not as good as I remember
them being. Does anybody actually go to Denny’s if they’re not like drunk or just
going for pancakes? Like see like lots of like plazas and malls. Yeah. Smart fit. Everybody in El Salvador also is so chill.
So chill. So friendly. Like Chase and I were talking and when we’re walking the
streets we feel really safe and we feel like like like we’re I don’t think there’s
anything that way. Um but we were just saying how we feel like we definitely feel
really safe and we feel like we’re safe and we feel like we’re not and we feel
like everyone’s just like really content and really comfortable. So it’s really
nice walking around like it doesn’t feel sketchy at all. At all. And if you guys
know about was 2022? Yep. 2022 um the government basically cleaned up the
streets and all like gang members and just bad bad news. People. CECOT. Got locked up
in a prison that’s where where’s where is the prison it’s in? Called CECOT. CECOT and
it’s basically like a prison where I mean we watched a documentary on it and as far
as we know I think you go in and you don’t get out. Which would be really unfortunate
if you actually didn’t create like create like commit a crime. There’s obviously a
small percentage of people in there that are probably innocent. Yeah probably
innocent. I mean that’s like a lot of prisons like we watched this guy on
Netflix what’s his name do you remember? Oh World’s Toughest Prisons or something.
World’s Toughest Prisons like he does a bunch of those. He got locked up for what
like 13 years and he never committed the crime. Yeah. Then he got out and now he
now he goes into prison so we watch all those kind of shows but I can definitely
say like I had a friend that came to El Salvador like maybe six years ago and she
said it was definitely like she felt like it was a little sketchy. I’m just being
honest. You know what’s funny about people when
say they didn’t commit the crime. You word allegedly always has to be there.
Yeah. I didn’t commit the crime allegedly. Allegedly yeah but um anyways I had a
friend that came here about yeah like six years ago and she definitely yeah she said
it felt a little sketchy. I don’t feel that at all so I can definitely say that
whatever happened is definitely like I feel safer. I feel safe and I never saw
how it was before but like I feel totally content in this country. We’ve been here
now for what like over a week. Yep. And it’s been great. We’ve had they’ve been
super friendly, super nice but yeah guys there’s like not a lot going on. Like is
there a lot of like kind of areas and art and stuff to look at? Not a whole lot
where we are. No I think we gotta loop around and get that frozen yogurt. I think
we gotta go get the froyo. Yeah. Because I don’t know I think if you come here you
might just want to stick to the outskirts of things going on because it’s just like
a big city with like a lot of industrial stuff. Pizza Hut, Wendy’s. Yep yep yep.
You know some little shops but it’s not like a little quaint town with like a
bunch of little like boutiques and little coffee shops. That’s not the vibe here.
This is the main capital. It’s like a capital city. Okay. Alrighty well let’s do
that. Change of plans. Chase and I wanted to go to this mall today. Apparently it’s
really beautiful and they have the same froyo shop in that mall because it’s all
over the city. So we’re gonna take you guys there. We’re gonna eat froyo there
and then we actually might, in a separate video, film the mall because honestly
malls are very underrated and they’re actually so nice. Like if you go to a mall
and you don’t go in there expecting just to shop. Like if you go in there and it’s
beautiful, there’s architecture, you walk around, there’s AC, there’s lots to look
at. It’s not just like a shopping experience. It can be like a whole
different experience. So we might do that but yeah we’re gonna hop in our uber. We
called it now and we’ll see you guys there. Alright so we just got dropped off.
We have this cool little fountain situation but we are here now. Oh they
have a Forever 21. He’s trying to tell us where the yogurt
is. Oh. It’s over that way. It’s this way? Yeah. So like go in and go. I guess I am.
Okay that’s really cute. Because Chase put in the frozen yogurt pin and he’s probably
thinking. That’s really cute. Oh wow. That is beautiful. Tell me how to pronounce this properly in
the comments. Yeah because they can send you voice notes. Oh you guys it’s so good.
Look at all these toppings. Look at all that. Look at all the sauces. We get so
many like hazelnut everything but I’m just gonna get the regular today. Yeah. Okay
so. I’m gonna get um. Uno topping pequeรฑa And pequena yeah. I’m gonna get
strawberry. Fresas. Yeah. and I’ll get fresas por favor. Yeah. Cool.
Like nothings better than just strawberries. I mean okay there is. Yeah.
It goes really well together. And I’ll get uh un pequena. Okay. With these little
guys. Those right there. Chocolate peanuts. Chocolate. These little guys.
Okay. Yeah gracias. So so good. And uh for a pequena it’s
about three dollars and fifty cents per one of these glorious things.
Oh didn’t see that. Didn’t see that. Perfecto. No mas. Welcome to Mouthgasm.
Frozen yogurt with chocolate peanuts. Oh man. I love chocolate peanuts on their
own but then you have this like silky smooth perfect yogurt. Frozen yogurt to go
with it. And you know sometimes when you freeze chocolates or put it with cold
things sometimes it kind of makes it a little crazy. These are still really
enjoyable. Yeah I hate frozen chocolate. Like I would never get that. Mine’s
like demolished now. It’s amazing. Yeah. I was eating I was like I could I could not
eat and Chase’s looked a little prettier. But yeah like when chocolate’s in ice
cream like um like a chocolate chip I will never get a chocolate chip. Because I
don’t like hard ice chocolate because it gets stuck to your teeth. Yeah this this
doesn’t do that which is really nice. It you guys is so creamy. It’s it’s tart. The
flavor is just like like I’ve had a lot of frozen yogurt. This one. Yeah this one
gets yeah. And like the fresh strawberries too. Like I just love I love that combo.
It’s almost like it almost gives cheesecake vibes. If they had had graham
cracker or pieces of cheesecake that’d be a game changer. Your creating
something. Gotta send a comment in to them. Let them know. They need it. We are gonna end the video there. That was
amazing. This mall kind of just looks like an average mall so we’re probably not
gonna film a mall video this go around. So don’t get your hopes up for that. Um but
yeah San Salvador just a really chill place. Make sure to check out some of the
things to do in the area if you do come here because I think that’s kind of like
where the money is. But with that being said we hope you enjoyed this video
anyways and we’ll see you guys in the next one. Bye!

Hi shelb and chase! I enjoy watching you guys โค
Hi nice video
What do you guys think about safety in El Salvador.?
There's better stuff than that, you should try "sorbete artesano" is bomb.
Denny's, here in Canada we go there after the bars to kinda sober up a little ๐ there's the museum of anthropology where you guys were, it's very interesting, all about the history of El Salvador. Nice video guys.
zona rosa has lots of restaurants, fast food shops and bars, you didn't walk anywhere near them.
Love how you guys keep roasting each other haha ๐๐
Great video good to see fellow Canadians visiting my El Salvador ; here in Toronto we have great malls but I could say that there are a couple in San Salvador better than we have here in Toronto ; my Pulgarcito tiny country but has so much to show from many volcanos , nice beaches , falls etc etc ๐๐ธ๐ป๐จ๐ฆ๐
Why do you post a scary/concerned face in your thumbnail? Placing a poor neighborhood in the background suggesting dangerous like youโre being stalked, Iโve seen a few of your videos and and you appear to be enjoying yourselves, loving the food, people being nice and polite to you both but your thumbnail suggests otherwise, why not a happy face with a post saying, visit El Salvador itโs safe and the people are nice and warm.
Great video guys !!!
Cool !! I been watching you guys videos all the places visiting El salvador. Enjoy much can in El salvador
I saw this video here you two, not knowing what either of your last names were you two, or even if you HAVE a last name at all!! ๐Ay, but even then, many many multiple video game YouTube videos are delivered like this, so alas like this I s'pose…๐ฎโ๐จSan Salvador… a great city and I can tell you that Peru/Lima/Tarapoto and the Spanish language are things I myself have had direct interaction with and show and make them cool… just to note!! ๐
I think you pronounce the yogurt name as yao yao
Guys uou need to go to volcatenango at the top of the san salvador bolcano, go in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset on the city.
Hola ermosa saludos desde acรก de nueva jersey
You do realize you passed a LlaLlao in a little strip mall kinda like a hole in the wall in the minute 5:17 of your video? The big glass building is Google hub. You are in the rich people area in San Benito and Zona Rosa.
Beautiful! ๐
Cool video and thanks for visiting my country, but there are no innocent people at CECOT, maybe at other prisons, yes, like everywhere else in the world, you know, but not at CECOT, CECOT is exclusive for hardened true and tried gang members!
Hey guys, nice video. When you said you were going to visit a Mall I thought you were talking about the one called "La Gran Vรญa" located very close to the one you end up visiting. La Gran Vรญa is nice because it has a big outdoor area where you can walk which is part of the Mall and it has indoor areas as well. Definitely the best Mall inside the city.
SUNDAYS IN EL SALVADOR PLACES ARE NOT THAT CROWDED SINCE NEXT DAY EVERYBODY HAS TO GO TO WORK.
Bonito video.๐
Yaoyao i guess that how you would say it in inglish ,nice video
Nice walk … hello from Paris
The glass building is google headquarters
By the looks on your face don't want to watch the video, first impression is the one that count.
EL SALVADOR is a beautiful country ๐
You can tell Chase loves his beer. Shelby not so much crazy about that idea. This has been ongoing with them. All I know I don't think it's a problem. This is a very good channel.
