Viaje VIAJAQUI SANTIAGO CURACAVI en bus Irizar i6 350 Scania K400 LPKP75 | Ando en Bus

Hello, hello everyone, how are you? My name is Ariel Cruz Pizarro, and in this episode of Ando en Bus we will see the Viajaqui bus doing the Santiago – Curacaví route, a striking Irizar i6 350 bus. This nice bus does Santiago – Curacaví, a rural route of 48 km and 45 minutes to the end. Wednesday, August 7, 2024. I am at the Pajaritos metro station, on Line 1 of the Santiago metro, and this was something funny. I have wanted to travel on these Viajaqui buses for a long time, but this time I was going for another route, on the 555, I wanted to record the electric double-decker bus to the Airport, which also begins the route here. The idea was that, I was super relaxed, I entered the Pajaritos bus terminal, this intermodal station or transfer terminal, and I just saw one of these 6×2 buses from Viajaqui parked. I couldn’t ignore it, I wanted to travel on one of these Irizar buses, it is a unique and quite unusual configuration, a very nice bus and a very special case. So I took the photos and got on, change of plans… This version of the Irizar bus is super curious. Irizar is a Spanish company, although this bus is manufactured in Brazil for Latin America, and this bus comes with the European standard, with seats and spaces that are usually used in Europe. This bus has 65 seats, it is the single-decker bus with the most seats in all of Chile. In long-distance buses, single-decker buses normally have between 42 and 48, and some companies have 50 to 54, but 65 seats is unprecedented in Chile. It is an interurban bus, with a long-distance bus body, chassis and engine, but configured for rural service, without a bathroom. For reference, I looked for tickets on Alsa and FlixBus in Spain, and found configurations of 53 to 57 seats, but if you remove the center door and the bathroom, it should be similar to this Viajaqui bus in the video. The seats are Irizar seats, they come with a seat belt, a plush seat, pleasant, there are armrests that have different positions, and there is no recline although there is a button, there is no recline. On the sides, these seats have handles, you can hold on to them when you move around the bus. And at the bottom, there is a footrest. Now, honestly, since there are so many seats and they don’t recline, it’s similar to a low-cost airline, the spaces remind me a lot of JetSmart airplanes. Viajaqui’s commitment is to have better buses in rural services, not the typical front-engine minibuses, but with this standard of greater performance, although in terms of space, it is similar to a bus. Above us, we have reading light and individual air conditioning, the seat numbering is illuminated, Upstairs there is also space for packages and televisions. That’s the Irizar bus. And I take this opportunity to greet you, happy to be able to get to know this beautiful and special bus. Returning to Terminal Pajaritos, where we were, we see a Modasa Zeus 5 from Pullman Bus to Viña del Mar, departure 11:25. Normally, when one talks about Europe, one tends to think about how positive or advanced they are compared to us, in many aspects, but in the comfort of the buses, the seating arrangement, the types of seats and the spaces between seats, any bus in Latin America is more comfortable and pleasant to travel. We left the Pajaritos terminal almost empty. Right there you can see the bus station where they keep the 555 electric double-decker buses. And speaking of Spain, right above was the Iberia plane flying to Madrid. The trip itself is very relaxed, even more so considering that the bus is almost empty. From Terminal Pajaritos, the bus goes directly to Route 68, the same road that goes to Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, Curacaví is one of the cities that is right in the middle of this road. Then, the bus travels directly along the road to get to Curacaví as quickly as possible. And meanwhile, we see several of the vehicles coming towards Santiago in the opposite direction. (views of the sky and sound of the bus’ Scania engine) The trip to Curacaví is very beautiful, we have to cross the mountains of the Coastal mountain range to leave Santiago. (entrance to the Lo Prado Tunnel) In the tunnel, you can see the bus speed indicator, around 100 km/h. Crossing the hills, Santiago was cloudy, and here we have a sunny day with some clouds, but mostly sunny, which is what happens when crossing the hills, the weather changes. This part of the road is one of the most beautiful, although the Curacaví route is relatively short, scenically it is very beautiful with the relief, the hills and the fields that can be seen. Since it is August, and we have had some rains, we see these reliefs, these hills with green colors, it was one of the best times to portray this adventure, that also motivated me. The same with the time, the sun hits from the east at this time, from the Andes, so we have the best light of the day to see all this. That’s why when I saw the bus on the platform I said: “No… I have to get on now, it’s the ideal time.” I moved forward on the bus to record more details of this Irizar unit. Behind the driver there is various information. We see the roof of the bus, with a design similar to what is seen from the outside. And this is the vision of the driver and the windshields. The first seats are preferential for people with disabilities. Here we see the driver’s dashboard of this bus with a Scania platform and engine. From these seats, there is full vision of what the driver sees, we can see the entire route. Discounting the issue of space between seats, it must be recognized that it is much more comfortable than a normal bus, you can notice the smoothness of the bus’s ride with all the comforts that a long-distance intercity bus chassis implies. The Scania K400 chassis is used in double-decker buses, similar to the bus we saw before in Pajaritos, it has a very powerful engine and is one of Scania’s highest ranges. When I talk about high-end you can think of cell phones, although there are many cell phones, the most advanced ones are more expensive but have more features, and this is the same, they add more technologies and more comfort for the driver and passengers. We leave the road and enter Ambrosio O’Higgins Street, which I imagine is due to the road infrastructure. Curacaví was already part of the horse trail between Valparaíso and Santiago, it took people between 2 and 3 days to reach the sea and Curacaví was one of the stops on that long trip. Under Ambrosio’s management, that old road was transformed into a highway, with the standard of that time, for carriages, we are talking about around 1790. Usually cities in Chile have Bernardo O’Higgins, the son of Ambrosio, one of the fathers of the Country, as their main avenue , but here in Curacaví the main street is Ambrosio, that is what I imagine explains this situation. If not, can someone explain the reason for this curiosity. We are arriving at the center and heart of Curacaví, and in front, at the plaza bus stop, we see another Viajaqui bus, and a green Ruta Curacaví bus, the competition. The two are traveling to Santiago. Agi takes the bus to return to the capital. Within Curacaví, the buses follow a route that enters through several streets and makes several turns. This is the map of that route. 12:00, noon, and we are in the Curacaví square after 30 minutes of travel. You can see something of the main square of Curacaví. Afterwards, the bus took all the streets that I showed them on the map. Since I am not from Curacaví, and it was my first time traveling, I do not recognize the streets or their names. From the bus, for the first time, it feels confusing because there are many turns, I had to find the information on the route by searching and digging through public documents, because there is not much information on the internet that is easy to understand. Apart from that, the specific thing is that the bus enters the neighborhoods of Curacaví, to residential areas. These rural buses bring Santiago closer to nearby towns and cities, and much of the flow of public is people who work, who study, who go to do errands, including people who take these buses every day. It is part of the rural route. It was nice to be able to get to know and portray something of Curacaví through the bus, not only getting to the square, but also entering the neighborhoods, getting to know a little more about the city from the inside. It’s also curious to see such a big bus on these small city streets. It’s like when I dreamed that I rented one of these buses to travel and the trip started at my house hahaha, I feel like that sensation. As a reference, the commune of Curacaví, not only the city but the entire municipality, has about 35,000 inhabitants. to give you an idea. The other thing that caught my attention is the everyday nature, because the drivers are always the same, so the regular passengers knew the driver, there was a regular manner and he already knew where several passengers who were on the bus were getting off, something very close. That is the church of Curacaví, the main parish, and the square, which just that day was undergoing renovations or work, but that is the square of Curacaví. After the square, the bus returns to Ambrosio O’Higgins and continues to the end of the city. That’s something that also caught my attention. where would the bus end? Without meaning to, with that decision I became the last and only passenger on the bus. The rest of the people got off on the interior streets. Of interesting things, we came across a yellow bus from Atevil, the competition, the only large bus that company has. And beyond, we saw another large version of these Irizar buses from Viajaqui, something that I will address in the file later. On the way through this part of Curacaví, along Ambrosio O Higgins , you can see many cars with signs and these yellow license plates, they are taxi-collectives with fixed routes, mainly to the Curacaví square. And Curacaví is known for its pastries, for its sweets, also linked to the importance of the highway and that status of stopover that it had in the past, between Santiago and Valparaiso. There are these factories or businesses that make artisanal sweets, there are about 100 of these businesses. Even on the road there are some Curacaví sweet stands too. It is a city that also mixes rurality, especially in the surrounding area, where there are several fields and plots. Of crops, grapes are grown, there are grapevines, which is like the main crop and there are also fruits, vegetables and artisanal chicha factories. And when the city ends, the bus crosses the Estero Puangue, a super pretty postcard, and also the last whereabouts of my trip on this bus. There the Viajaqui bus left, the route has ended. It has been a 45 minute trip here. You can see Route 68, where the TurBus is, that is the route, the mountains, the street and this beautiful watercourse, the Estero Puangue that reaches the Mapocho River. By fluke, by luck, a Tas Choapa bus just happened to pass by. and the sign says: Santiago, 45 km. In this place there is a walkway to cross the road, I don’t know if the Viajaqui bus has any subsequent whereabouts, but as you can see, they turn around to the other side afterwards. Next to this walkway, several collective taxis arrive, finishing their route and returning, in addition to there being a shared bus and collective taxi stop. This whereabouts says Whereabouts 3. The stop map is the same as I showed you before, stops 1 and 2 are on the other side of the road. But I don’t know any more details there. In the meantime, let’s see this Viajaqui bus that is arriving and we will see the data sheet. Regarding prices, the Viajaqui bus cost me $3,000 Chilean pesos, about 3 dollars; and to return, the Atevil bus cost me $1,800, about 2 dollars, it is a big difference for a rural bus. Our bus is an Irizar i6 350, Scania K400 6×2 chassis, Euro 5 EEV standard, registered in September 2019 and with 65 economy seats, Viajaqui unit 1916 I managed to take a photo of the manufacturing plates, a Brazilian manufactured bus, the Scania K400 chassis is from Sao Bernardo do Campo, and the Irizar body from the Botucatu plant, where Caio buses are also manufactured, this unit was manufactured in June 2019. Viajaqui has 22 buses in the Curacaví service. The first buses of 2018 are Irizar i6 350 with 51 seats, with a Mercedes Benz chassis. In 2019, a similar version arrived but on a Scania K360 chassis with the same 51 seats. And the special versions of Viajaqui are Irizar buses with Scania K400 chassis for long distances, 65 seats, there are Irizar i6 350 buses and others Irizar i6 370. They are similar, but trying to find the differences, the 370 bus is taller, this can be seen in the false door that is in the middle, in the 350 it sticks out and goes through the window. We can also see it in the angle of the windshields, and the general shape of the bus, the 350 bus is more flattened, as if compacted, and the 370 is more stylized because it is taller. Viajaqui is from the Yanguas company, an important and super large private transportation company, they also have many units and versions of these Irizar buses. I have taken several photos of them over the years. Black Line, a subsidiary of Yanguas’ premium private transportation, also has special versions of Irizar. There are buses that leave from Terminal San Borja and others from Terminal Pajaritos, the two services use the same streets in Curacaví, the same turns on the interior streets. The competition on the Curacaví route is the company Atevil, which has 11 buses, mainly minibuses with front engines like the bus in the photo, except for the yellow Neobus bus that we saw before. And the other company is a special case, Ruta Vía Curacaví, it belongs to Paravias buses, it has minibuses, large buses and intercity buses, sometimes even double-decker buses. In the description of each video there is the link to the Super map, with all the videos on the channel, you will find this trip at the end of the service in Curacaví. I thank everyone who helps me continue publishing these trips and videos, the members of the channel, who give a Super Thank You, my dear subscribers, my dear readers. I am a writer and book editor. If you like what I do, you’ll love my books. This is one of the candy factories, with the artisanal sweets of Curacaví. There are different types, each candy cost $1,300, I bought the meringues but I carried them in my backpack and they arrived bursting hahaha. Of course, they had plenty of delicacy, they were good and rich. When I was at the estuary whereabouts, an Atevil minibus arrived, a Marcopolo Senior, the bus arrived and ended the route there because it turned back. I took a bus, and at the plaza stop I caught the same bus going to Santiago, and there I was able to take it to return. It was fun to meet the same bus. We are looking at the seat of this Marcopolo bus, this taxibus or minibus. We see the space I have for my legs, and in short, the experience is exactly that of a bus trip. The bus has a front engine, it has sliding windows, and on the sides we have curtains to cover us so that the sun does not reach us. Upstairs, there are parcel boxes, this bus has reading lights and forced air outlet, because this specific unit does not have air conditioning, but other Atevil buses do. And that has been the episode, with the Viajaqui bus, but also with the Atevil bus, a little piece of the latter. I hope you enjoyed it a lot, everything is done with a lot of love, I hope that the people of Curacaví have enjoyed this episode and can share their experience with us. May God bless you very much, have a nice day and we will see you on more adventures, in more videos. Bye, you are very well! ha ha ha.

  2. Hola muy buenas tardes amigo Ariel Pizarro cruz te saluda tu amigo Cristian rojas ese el Ibiza Scania buses viaqui salida terminal buses San Borja estación central terminal buses pajaritos terminal buses Curacaví
