【山梨観光】中央線で行く!絶景車窓とワイン飲み放題の日帰り旅

This channel is supported by our members. Finally I made it here. A breathtakingly beautiful expanse of vineyards. This is Katsunuma Grape Country, the birthplace of wine in Japan . In the basement there is a special wine cellar where you can drink wine all day long. It’s an hour and a half from Shinjuku Station on the Chuo Line Limited Express. The view from the window is like another world. Good morning . This is Shinjuku Station, the busiest station in Japan, no, the world. Today I’m going to go to drink wine from Yamanashi Prefecture from this big city. I could take that Takao-bound train, but I want to go directly to Otsuki. The train to Tokyo is also crowded. The train just left, but it’s already here . The morning rush hour is over and it’s pretty empty . It’s amazing how old the trains are still in use . They’re running side by side. The platform is full of tourists heading to Mt. Fuji . A rapid train to Otsuki? ? ? That’s fine, but it’s a little late. It was also a dream to cross the Shin-Katsura River Bridge. I’ll take the express train on the way there and the green car rapid train on the way back. These express trains, “Fuji Kaiyu”, “Kaiji” and “Azusa”, are really crowded so you should definitely get a reserved seat ticketI want to drink coffee. There are some ekiben that have smoking rooms, which are rare in Tokyo , but I’ll hold off because I want to eat a lot in Yamanashi. Amazing, we ran parallel to each otherThis is the express train I’m about to ride on, the Chuo Line express “Kaiji” I love this carJR East E353 seriesThe designer is “Ken Okuyama”, who designed Ferraris, etc.The white body is inspired by the snow of the Southern Alps and includes “Azusa Violet”, the missionary color of AzusaIt’s been 10 years since it was introduced , but this innovative and cool design makes me shiver every time I see itAll the seats are reserved so I made a reservation in advance2D… I hate the window frames. I changed my seat. Seat changes should be free up to 1 minute before departure. The seat has been reclined to this extent, but the color of the light hasn’t changed.Well , it’s okay. The table is big enough to fit a 15-inch laptop. Here is the menu I’m having today.Coffee and basil meatballs.I’ll have some.It ‘s already midsummer, so I can’t drink hot coffee. The train departs on time. The occupancy rate is decent. Finally the light turned green.Blue light means reserved.Red means empty seats. There are flyers in front of the seats. In the past, there were more magazines and it was fun. This Limited Express Kaiji has a three-car “Fuji Kaiyu” attached to the back. The “Fuji Kaiyu” can be said to be almost a tourist train. There are many foreigners on board who go to Mt. Fuji.I drink wine in Kofu, which is beyond Otsuki. It seems there is also a discount pass.Oh, there is fog coming out of the tracks. Can I call it a “specialty” of Nakano Station? In the summer, it’s hot, so the rails stretch. It seems that they keep cooling it with mist because it would be a problem if the switch there broke down. This is a nostalgic vehicle. Now I’m hungry. It’s delicious.Basil meatballs and rice.I like sour things like plums.Well, it’s okay.Is it a lie?Is it going to rain? Just today? Ah~ (sigh) Oh well. After passing through the Mitaka train depot, the Chuo Line is about to enter the commuter town. From Nakano to Tachikawa , the line runs in a straight line forever. It ‘s not a metaphor, it’s a real straight line. Oh, this is a freight train with two locomotives connected. Blue Thunder. The Chuo Line has small tunnels, so I wonder if the car body is small so that it can run through those places? Is that why they connected two cars? There was a train that I think I’ll be using a lot on this trip. It’s a 211 series JNR car. I’ll ride it again later. Arrived at Hachioji . There was a freight train stopped there too. It said it was for gasoline only . Is it related to the US Yokota Air Base? Is that another car or some other valuable train? I was looking forward to it because there are always unusual cars stopped at this station. Kanazawa sushi ? Kanazawa sushi under a huge tower apartment building? Superman is coming out this Friday (release date is July 11th). I’m looking forward to it! I love director James Gunn. I’m totally influenced by him . That’s the Keio Line . You can see the tracks heading to Takao-sanguchi Station in the distance. I rode it the other day. Oh, what is that? It’s a huge bridge. It ‘s so impressive. Two bridges between mountains. I wonder if that was a highway heading towards Shonan. Now, this train, the E353 series, is really fun when it enters mountainous areas. Do you know that it has a body tilting device? With that device, the car body can be tilted by about 1.5 degrees, allowing it to run around curves without losing much speed. The tracks also have a slight inclination of about 5 degrees at most? It’s fun to race through it at high speed, but I don’t really get it as a physical sensation (visual information is fun). The slope is steep around here. On the way to Yamanashi Prefecture, we cross many mountains. We can see the remains of the switchbacks. Trains from about 100 years ago couldn’t stop on slopes, so they built flat stations on the mountains like this one. We pass Sagamiko Station, which looks like this at this angle. Nearby is the large Sagami Lake, and it’s easily accessible from Tokyo, so there are quite a few couples and other tourists. That station is supposedly in Kanagawa Prefecture. After driving through Kanagawa Prefecture for a moment, we enter Yamanashi Prefecture. The first station in Yamanashi Prefecture, Uenohara Station, comes into view. It’s a very impressive station. It looks like Okutsugaru Imabetsu Station (a hidden station on the Tohoku Shinkansen line). I wonder if there used to be more tracks. The Chuo Line has a really nice view. We race through the part a little above the valley at high speed. I wonder if the train still tilts and reaches a maximum speed of about 130 km/h. Anyway, it feels really exhilarating. I feel like I’m riding a low-flying fighter jet . It’s fast. It’s too fast. This station is amazing. It’s super narrow. It would be a thrill to take a picture of the train from the edge of the station. It ‘s a scene that you would see on Keikyu, but I don’t think it’s on JR. I forgot to turn the camera. This is my favorite Shin-Katsura River Bridge, and the high-altitude bridge is cool. After crossing the bridge we arrive at Otsuki. I’ll get off here. I didn’t know you could still ride at Fuji-Q . Wow, even if you’ve climbed a mountain it’s hot. I wonder why it’s so scorching hot. The ride is amazing. This suspension is really good. What great springs. Wow, the shade is a little cooler, but it’s still hot. It looks like hell. I like these wooden walls. They smell of cypress. Wow, are they all long seats ? Really? Well, it’s fine since I’m only riding for four stations. What is this TV… It’s a lot of work. The uncoupling is over and the train over there only has three cars. It feels really weird. Isn’t that Mt. Fuji in the background ? People heading to Lake Kawaguchi are dashing off. The stop position is interesting . How many minutes after the uncoupling is it time to depart? Is it the departure time? Is the whistle the signal to depart? Nice. Nice sound. We have to get going too . The train leaves in about 120 seconds. The Fuji Kaiyu is full. Isn’t three cars enough? There are standing seats too . Amazing . Let’s ride that train for about four stations and go for some wine . How much udon can we drink? I’m worried. There are clouds over there. Is it fog or clouds ? Is it really going to rain? What’s going on? I don’t mind riding here, but I’m embarrassed about the direction so I won’t sit. It’s hot in the summer when there’s no one around so it’s better to close the door when you open it. It’s moving, it’s moving, it ‘s a nice sound . The train heading to Mt. Fuji is going that way . I’ll ride the Fujikyu Railway again next time . It’s too beautiful! Nice! It’s uphill so it doesn’t go very fast. I don’t think it’s a bad train, but I guess it’s hard to go fast on a steep gradient ? What’s that? There was a strange building at the end of the Chuo Expressway over there . If you take the express bus that runs over there, you can go from Tokyo to Kofu for a bargain fare of 2,200 yen. Oh look! What a beautiful view ! It’s really raining. It’s nice. I think it ‘s the “Limited Express Kaiji” bound for Shinjuku. It’s really crowded. But it’s the best weather ever. Is this the Japanese summer sky? It’s beautiful. This train will cross the mountainous area of Sasago Pass from here. Osugi Station, which we just mentioned, is at an altitude of 350M, while Katsunuma-Budokyo Station, which we’re going to, is at an altitude of 110M, and 460M. There’s a lot of fog. It’s really strange weather . I can’t see 500M ahead. Can I drive like this? Well, I don’t think there will be any railroad crossings for a while, so I guess it’s okay. The traffic on the Chuo Expressway over there is also slow . I came to Yamanashi Prefecture for the first time in the heavy rain. It’s exciting! A mundane journey would be boring. It’s a view that tickles the sense of adventure. This is the Sasago Tunnel. It’s a small tunnel, so not all trains can run through it. This tunnel is 4656 meters long and was opened in 1903. Recently, JR East announced a new night train, but the E657 series train cannot pass through this tunnel because the electrical equipment on the roof is too large. It’s a dream to go to Nagano on the Chuo Line night train. Why is the speed limit 25 km? (Due to tunnel construction) It’s shaking! It’s shaking a lot. Will it be sunny when we get out of the tunnel? Or will it be heavy rain? What a wonderful day. As expected, the weather forecast is unreliable. It’s sunny. There are really only spectacular views around here! We’re at a pretty high altitude of 460 meters . The view is really good. Let’s get off! I got off at Katsunuma-budokyo Station for the first time. It feels really strange. First of all, the slope of this platform is amazing . It’s slanted. I wonder how many per mille it is. There’s a sign over there. I feel like the height on both sides of the platform is 1.5 meters different. There are a lot of grapes growing, it’s nice, I want to try some grapes, but I’ll drink wine , but I’ll get drunk easily, so I’ll eat something light first and drink wine. There is a 2200 yen plan and a 600 yen or 1000 yen plan, but what should I do? 2200 yen is enough to drink in one day, but do I drink that much? The gradient here is 24 per mille, a steep 24m climb in 1000 meters, and the descent is 25 per mille, which is crazy. That’s why electric locomotives were so active here. The gradient here is too steep, so in the past, they used to stop at a lower station with a switchback. Now, the motors are much stronger, so they can stop here without any problems, and the braking performance is good. Let’s drink wine . Wine… I don’t really like dry wine, but I don’t like sweet wine either. I like wine that’s just right and easy to drink. Can you believe it? All of this is grapes, grapes, grapes, grapes. Apparently grapes first came to Japan around 1300. They came to Japan via the Silk Road, and the locals continued to cultivate them, and now there are so many of them. From here on, the view from the Chuo Line window all the way to Kofu Station is vineyards. It’s rare. Welcome. Customers going to Budou no Sato can use the city bus for 300 yen. Well, I want to walk, so I’ll walk. There’s also grape picking, what should I do? Today is a weekday, so I came by Suica. There are discount tickets on weekends, so if you use them, it’s a little cheaper to ride a bicycle. (Beware of drunk driving) Why “Assault Lily”? Is it a sacred place? There is a facility here in the station where you can drink this kind of wine, so if you just want to drink a little, you can drink it here. Amazing, these are all grapes, not fake, they’re real. What is it, does it grow from this one tree? Amazing, grapes are surprisingly resistant to the heat. They’re already ripe. I wonder if they’ll pick them and make wine. I’ll go straight along this switchback ruins for a while, and my final destination is probably over there. That’s the wine cellar I should go to today. There seems to be a hot spring, too . I think it costs about 700 or 600 yen to get in. I think it’s best to do your own research and go to your favorite wine cellar. I wonder if this is the new bridge that was built in August 2009. It’s a very beautiful bridge . This is the old platform of Katsunuma-budokyo Station? As the birthplace of wine, Katsunuma has a history and culture of 1300 years of grape growing and 130 years of wine making. Wine brewing began in the Meiji period. Thanks to the efforts of the pioneers, the local grape industry has developed into a comprehensive industry, including wine tourism. It’s amazing, isn’t it? All this green area is vineyards. There are no map symbols, but it’s all grape vines. Can I go to this too? Where is this? There’s no number one. There’s no number one . This one? Maybe I’ll go over there or if it rains a little later. I’m not sure whether to walk on the platform or where the tracks used to be, but it’s a passenger car platform, so it’s low. The current platform is 1100mm above the rail surface. This is the old platform. 760mm. A very, very low platform. The tracks were laid here, so the height of modern trains is completely different. It used to be Katsunuma Station. “Budokyo” is a term that was added later. I see. What was the 271 series? Maybe it was a two-storey train? If you think about it, if that two-storey train could come here, it would be nice for more trains to come here… It would be nice to come here at night, but do the lights come on? I’ll climb up a bit. It ‘s a very low old platform that you can climb up to with just one step, and hopefully an express train will pass by . The train comes without a sound. Ah. Something is coming. Is it a train? Or a passing train? Nice. Where should I take the picture from? Is it the best place to take the picture from here? I’m looking forward to it. I wonder what’s coming. I wonder if a freight train just passed by. I heard a train with an unfamiliar sound. I wonder if it’ll be a Cassiopeia. It’s already retired, but I wonder what’s coming. The slope is pretty steep, so I don’t think it’s going to be that fast, but I think the maximum speed is 80 km. This section, well,
this is not the time for this. If I don’t hurry up and get to the Grape Hill, it’s going to rain . There’s really no sign of a train coming. Is it like a Shinkansen? Ah, a train is coming. Oh, it’s a freight train . I see, that’s the train I saw earlier in Hachioji or somewhere. Is it going to Matsumoto? It sounds nice . It’s a train I saw in Hachioji or somewhere. Hang in there. I went to deliver fuel to Nagano Prefecture. I have to hurry up or it’s going to rain. They say it’s going to thunderstorms around 12 o’clock. Is this a cherry tree ? Spring looks nice too . I want to see the vineyards in the thunderstorm. But there’s an open-air bath in the wine cellar facility. I’d like to try an open-air bath in a thunderstorm (I might get electrocuted) I wonder if it’s a storehouse for storing grapes or some kind of alcoholIt ‘s impressiveLots of grapes have already taken root, and they’ve put bags on them to protect themIt’s really hot, about 30 degrees, and yet the grapes don’t rotIt ‘s so beautifulWow , the smell! It smells like something I’ve never smelled before. It’s so sweet! Is this the smell of grapes? Is it the smell of a vineyard? It’s definitely worth coming! I’m glad I cameThe atmosphere is a bit like OkinawaThis squishy road is all grapevinesThis is just a little higher up the mountain in the Kofu BasinIf I go down from here, I’ll find KofuWhat ‘s that red stuff ?Starfish juice? Is it used to ward off pests, bears, and other harmful animals? Apparently starfish juice is smelly. It’s so smelly that it makes people faint. I’m a bit curious. There are places where they grow it in greenhouses like thisI don’t know anything about the types of grapes, but they all seem expensiveIs grape picking from May to October? Is July the best time? Of course, it’s hot, so if you don’t drink water frequently, you’ll get heatstroke. If you’re not confident in your stamina, you can come in the evening and take a bus to get around here, or you can stay in a hotel, but I think the best thing to do is take a taxi. It’s as hot as the Philippines . Are they eating grapes or something ? Isn’t it Naruto? It’s good to come on weekends, and on weekdays you can do things freely and leisurely like this without meeting anyone. Of course , it’s a crime to snack, so don’t do it, and if you see any suspicious people, I think it’s good to report them immediately. Wow, it’s nice , this vast vineyard . It’s very cool in the shade . It ‘s so hot that I can’t believe that the temperature is 31 degrees right now . I can’t do it. I mean , if you’re not even a little bit confident in your physical strength, you should really come by bus. It’s definitely better. It’s dangerous. It ‘s such a sunny and nice day, but I can’t believe that it’s going to thunder in an hour. The weather forecast might not be very reliable. What a nice view. That white building in the back is Katsunuma Budokyo Station, where I just got off. Amazing . Is this vast vineyard all grapes? Isn’t it amazing? It ‘s an unbelievable view. This is a spectacular spot that you can get to from Tokyo in just 90 minutes or 2 hours. I like it . This view is so good that it should be registered as a World Heritage Site or something. I’m glad I came during grape season. There’s also a hotel and Tenku no Yu. Is this groundwater ? If it was tap water I’d laugh, but it’s probably groundwater. It’s cold. What’s going on? I don’t know if it ‘s groundwater or not. Where does it really come from ? I guess they used to harvest naked, but that can’t be the case. My camera is so hot that it will be unusable soon. Let’s get into the building quickly. It was surprisingly close . I’ll put my camera away . Amazing. I definitely should go to the wine cellar. This is a really nice resort! There are a lot of nice hotels, let’s come and stay someday. This lovers’ sanctuary is everywhere, what kind of effect does it have? Anyway, this is amazing, this is amazing, this view is a little too hot though. What a beautiful and magnificent view, I ‘m glad I came, it’s scary! But it’s a nice view, is it okay to have it all to yourself? There’s probably no one in the hot springs either , this is worth staying over, isn’t it? I didn’t know it was such a nice place. Mt. Fuji is nice, but this isn’t bad either . It’s also called Tart Vin , Taste Vin. The material is bells and silver. (Help me, sommelier) It was originally used to taste for poison, but nowadays it is used to check the quality. This is a very romantic time capsule. It’s no exaggeration to say that Katsunuma Grape Village has entrusted its entire life to the wine industry, and in 1978 the wine was sealed. I can’t drink it for another 30 years. Wine from 70 years ago. I wanted to drink it. I was surprised that the Crown Prince and Princess visited in 1996. Here is the Tartvin used on that occasion. Here is the wine cellar . Which one should I drink from? First, I’ll start with something expensive. I’ll decide based on the pattern. 2600 yen. It’s a bit expensive. If you have a Tartvin purchased on the day, you can drink as much as you want until 5pm (please check with the staff). The wine cellar is dimly lit , which is nice, so
silver and bells were used to reflect the slightest light and check the color of the wine. It has a sour taste . The alcohol is not that high, so it’s easy to drink. However, 12% is dangerous. It ‘s dangerous. I heard that Tartvin was originally used to taste poison . Let’s try a dry white wine. Is this it ? It’s only 9% alcohol. It has a slight sour taste. It’s dry with little sweetness ? This is it? I definitely felt that the pear element was strong. This is the sommelier’s medal and badge . It’s a world I don’t understand. I still don’t understand what makes wine delicious. It’s an orange wine, so maybe orange wine? It originates from grapes. I’ll play it safe and try this orange one. This wine cellar is really only wine-free. Bringing in food and drinks is prohibited. I see, it’s quite strong in alcohol. I feel like it has a strong fruity aroma. This seems elaborate. It’s not that expensive at 2,300 yen. I wonder what it tastes like . Oh , it has a strong Muscat flavor. It’s refreshing. It has a slight earthy scent, which is really good. This one smells like citrus, like yuzu or mandarin oranges . Let’s try it. It has a faint citrus scent. It doesn’t smell like yuzu or mandarin oranges that much. It’s faint. But there’s a slight hint of mandarin orange in the aftertaste . Here’s how to make white wine: ① Harvest ② Remove the fruit from the tree ③ Crush it and separate the flesh, seeds, skins, etc. here ④ Argol fermentation. Carbon dioxide is also released, so that’s also removed ⑤ Aging, settling the fermented product. Transfer and age ⑥ Filter and bottle I see. For red wine, ③ and ④ are reversed. First, soak the fruit with the juice, skins, and seeds, and ferment at about 30 degrees for about two weeks, then crush it and undergo secondary fermentation to convert malic acid to lactic acid . I see. Does this method taste better? I guess it didn’t taste as good when steps 3 and 4 were reversed, so they went with this procedure. It was only in 2013 that we discovered that wine has its roots in Central Asia . We did DNA analysis at the Hiroshima National Research Institute of Brewing and Cornell University. The wine here is very red, not orange, it’s pink . It has a refreshing acidity that reminds you of cherries. Sweet! What is this taste? I imagined acerola or something sour. It’s completely different. It’s not sweet like sugar, but it feels like a wine made by pouring only the delicious smell of acerola into the liquid. This was also surprising. It is said that Japanese wine originated in Katsunuma. A 46-day voyage to France? That’s too harsh. You can study and come back in 2 years. Not much different from modern times . Your cursive writing is super good. This 45-day voyage would be hellish without any medicine for motion sickness, I really can’t do it. A replica of Japan’s first wine. I see, I think the contents are probably water, but the bottle is from that time . This one too? It’s all in kanji. A wine label used before the war. Is this a silkworm? A cicada ? Wine with a cicada mark? I was a bit curious about this blue thing before, so I’ll try it. This is sweet, a little too sweet. It really feels like fruit wine. It’s grape juice. This might be good for people who are drinking wine for the first time, but I can’t drink wine that is too sweet. I recommend it if you’re drinking wine for the first time. It really feels like juice. The alcohol content is 7%, which is a little weak. Let’s eat something first. I can’t get drunk. The room temperature is 20 degrees, it’s very cool. What should I do? Shall I take a bath in the hot spring? I’m not hungry, but I have to eat. If you have this for the day, you can enter all day, until 5:00. (Check with the staff) Let’s come back later. Ah, it’s hot, but it’s not stuffy or humid , so it’s comfortable, but it ‘s not comfortable at all . It seems that there are snacks that are common at Tenku no Yu. So let’s have lunch there. Are you kidding me? Closed until July 3rd? Well well well well well well well well well well well look at that slope of the train. It’s a station but it’s slanted . Where should we eat? Recommended itinerary for lunch. Leave your luggage at this hotel in the morning, go to Kofu and do some sightseeing. Then come back here at 2 or 3, buy a Tartvin and drink lots of wine. After that, relax in the hot spring. Then stay here and go to the hot spring again the next morning and go somewhere. Like Kawaguchiko. Are they doing barbecues? Are you kidding me ? Are you kidding me? I heard they do stone grilling, but you have to check beforehand. I’m back. Next is red wine. Ajilon. Even so, it ‘s a light red . Ah, I see, it has a bit of astringency. The aroma is just good. But to be honest, it’s mixed with a lot of things. I wish I could wash it off with water. Bailey Alicante 2100 yen. It seems to smell like brown sugar. Ah, it’s strong. It definitely smells like brown sugar . Ikeda Shuzo’s red. Let’s try it . It’s easy to drink. It’s a bit astringent. This. Muscat Berry A Katsunuma barrel aged . It smells like a barrel. This might be the best. If it was red, the barrel smell would be really good. It smells good . I’m getting pretty drunk. I’ll finish by drinking this . Ah, it’s so easy to drink. I’m grateful that they brought such a delicious drink from abroad. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. I like white wine . It’s delicious. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. This is a place I can really recommend. I had such a happy time . I got drunk because it was so delicious . Don’t worry , be careful of falling. I understood 100%. Be careful of drunk people. Let’s go up to the ground and eat houtou. Let’s go to Kofu Station. What should I do? I’m going to Kofu Station. It costs 600 yen. I thought I heard some sound and there was a swarm of bees in this tree. Bees are also important, aren’t they? They put pollen on the pistils so hard. If they weren’t there, there would be a lot of tedious work that farmers would have to do . Well, I think they do it even if they are there. I’m also interested in grape picking. I’m looking forward to it next time, I’ll save it for later. For now, I’ll eat lunch. Let’s go eat houtou. Let’s go to Kofu Station . I’m pretty drunk. What kind of creature is that? The train to Kofu has arrived. Let’s get on this and go eat houtou. Is it crowded? Not bad. Where should I sit? Everywhere is full. Thank you for watching until the end. I post a realistic travel video every week. Which scene did you like best? I will reply to your comments later. See you in the next video .
