商船三井さんふらわあ ふらの 和室で過ごす19時間のフェリー旅 茨城県(大洗)→北海道(苫小牧)
I boarded the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ferry Sanfura “Furano” from Oarai Port, Ibaraki Prefecture to Tomakomai Nishi Port, Hokkaido. This time I stayed in a Japanese-style room and it was a ferry trip of about 19 hours. On board, I enjoyed meals and the view from the ship. Please enjoy until the end. I arrived at the Yaesu exit of Tokyo Station. This time I boarded the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Sanfura “Pacific Story” discount plan. You can pick up your ticket at the station. First, take a bus from Tokyo Station to Mito Station. First, hand the bus ticket to Mito Station to the crew. Get on the bus. Depart Tokyo Station. Goodbye Tokyo 👋 The bus passes the “Olympic Flame” object at the Asahi Beer Headquarters and runs on the Shuto Expressway. Tokyo Skytree stands out against the blue sky. I rode the bus for about 2 hours and arrived at Mito Station. Transfer to a local bus at Mito Station. Get on the bus bound for the ferry terminal at Mito Station. The ride takes about 20 minutes. The bus was quite crowded. We arrived at the Oarai Ferry Terminal. The bus fare up to this point is included in the discount plan. We proceed to the boarding procedure at the counter. (We exchange the discount plan ticket and receive the room card key.) The basic plan for “Pacific Story” is a comfort room, but you can upgrade your room for an additional fee. This time we upgraded and stayed in a Japanese-style private room. (For details on discount plans, please see the official website in the description section.) Ah! The new ship Sunflower “Kamui”! This is the Sunflower “Furano” that we will board. There was a panel there because Oarai is the setting for the anime “Girls & Panzer”. The Sunflower “Furano” is anchored. We are waiting for the time to depart. After completing the procedure, we came to the waiting room on the second floor. There is no one there anymore. The model here is the Sunflower “Sapporo”. It is the same evening flight as the Furano. I would like to ride the new ship “Kamui”. I headed towards the ferry from the boarding gate and wanted to board. This is the route I took this time. It was a 19-hour voyage from Oarai Port in Ibaraki Prefecture to Tomakomai Nishi Port in Hokkaido. Beyond this escalator, I was already on board the ship. I took the elevator to my room. The room I was staying in this time was Room 6S37. I inserted my room key and the door opened! It was a private room with a window, so I could see the view outside very well. I left my luggage and went to the restaurant to eat dinner. I came to the restaurant. You need to purchase a meal ticket in advance. This time I bought a set ticket with breakfast. (3,200 yen per adult) The meal ticket machine did not accept new bills. (You can exchange them for old bills at the entrance) Let’s go here. I placed my “Meal” card on the table to reserve a table. The restaurant is buffet style. There are various menus lined up, which makes me excited. Is this the hamburger I had when I boarded the “Furano” before? I’ll eat a lot of steamed vegetables. The peperoncino looks delicious too. Deep-fried mackerel. With sauce. Gratin. There are takoyaki and other dishes that children will enjoy. There is also ramen. Add bamboo shoots and wakame seaweed toppings and pour soup over it to make ramen. This is the salad corner. Sliced okra and onions that look good for your body. Served with cabbage. Is this roast pork? Quiche. I also took marinated carrots and octopus. There was white rice. This is seafood pilaf. Miso soup. Soft drinks are all-you-can-drink at the drink bar. Various dishes were arranged on the plate. Let’s eat! This plate has brown dishes and a lot of carbohydrates. 😊 I also took a salad. I’ll start with the salad. The marinated octopus is delicious. I boarded this Sanfuraha “Furano” about two years ago. I was looking forward to the meal because the menu will be different from then. This peperoncino is delicious! This hamburger steak is delicious with demi-glace sauce that both children and adults like. I’d like to eat by the window tomorrow morning as well. There were many people eating at the restaurant, and it was quite crowded. The menu had a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes. After the main meal, let’s have dessert. It’s fun to roll the soft serve ice cream yourself. Petit choux, raspberry chocolate cake, and mille crepe. Sweet summer orange jelly, grapefruit, and pineapple. I’ll have coffee. The soft serve ice cream is cool and delicious. I’m going to try all the desserts. 😊 The jelly is refreshingly sweet and refreshing. Even though I thought I couldn’t eat any more, I was scared of my appetite for dessert. 🤭 All the desserts were delicious. The coffee after the meal was delicious. I’ll have some tea after the meal. You can pour green tea and water from this machine. Since the meal is over, I’ll return the “Meal” card. Thank you for the meal. After 19:45, we departed from Oarai Port. The newly built ship, Sunflower “Kamui,” is anchored there. The port is getting further away little by little. Farewell, Kanto. We return to the ship and take a walk around the ship. We come to the shop. The shop sells daily necessities, souvenirs from Hokkaido, drinks, souvenirs from Ibaraki Prefecture, and oh, what a commemorative medal engraving machine! There are also many Sanfuraha goods. Sanfuraha goods here too. Ice cream is also sold. Here are snacks to go with alcohol. Here are snacks. This tote bag, exclusive to the Furano, is lavender-colored and cute. This is the information desk. We found a commemorative stamp for boarding the ship! Making fun memories. It’s nice! Lockers for valuables. These are useful when staying in a large room. We return to our room and take a room tour. The room we are staying in is a calm Japanese-style room with tatami mats. There are four hangers. There is a mirror hanging on the wall near the door. The room light switch and the volume control for the in-house broadcasting system. Partition curtains. There are two types of trash cans for sorting. Shoehorn. Mirror on the dresser. Hand sanitizer gel is also provided. The power outlet here seems to be for the hair dryer. Switch and power for the side lamp. There is a similar switch and power on the other side. If you move this chair… it becomes a dresser. You can store your luggage on this shelf. I don’t think it will fit a large suitcase. Teapot, teacups for green tea and plum kombu tea. There is also a convenient mini fridge. A small table and a folded futon can be used as a chair. TV. TV remote control and tissues. There are two futons. The futon mattress is actually made by France Bed. The storage shelf above the futon is large and looks like it can hold luggage. There are plenty of power outlets, so charging won’t be an issue. There are various things here, including a hair dryer. Panasonic hair dryer. Two disposable slippers and two amenity sets. The amenities include a body towel, cotton swabs, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a face towel with a logo. Bath towel and room wear. The room wear seems to be unisex and one size fits all. Life jackets are stored on the shelf for each room capacity. (The shelf can be opened and closed only in an emergency.) Air conditioner control panel. You can change the operation and wind direction. I’m glad that the air conditioner is fully equipped. Since it is a Japanese-style room, the window side is a shoji screen. The window is covered with a curtain. Checking the bathroom. A towel instead of a bath mat. A towel rack on the top of the door. A sink. It is designed so that cups do not fall off the sink. Hand soap. There was even a toilet seat disinfectant cleaner provided. A toilet with a warm water washing function. There is only a shower, no bathtub. There are handrails, so you can rest assured even if the ship suddenly rocks. Of course, there is a shower curtain. I laid out my futon and got ready to sleep. After this, I would like to explore the ship again. I came to the observation bath to take a bath. Bathing hours are until 11pm and from 6:30am the next morning until disembarking. There is a coin laundry near the women’s observation bath. There are two washing machines and two dryers. Washing machines cost 300 yen per use. Detergent is automatically dispensed. Dryers cost 100 yen for 30 minutes. There is also a currency exchange machine. There are many vending machines near the men’s observation bath. Smoking corners. There are on each floor. This is the baby room. It is helpful that there is a diaper changing table, sink, and baby formula machine in the room . Nursing room. You can maintain your privacy by entering and locking it from the inside. Here you can breastfeed without worrying about being seen. In addition to the guest rooms, the 5th floor has shops, an observation bath, a water heater room, a pet room, and a kids room. In addition to the guest rooms, the 6th floor has restaurants and a water heater room. The 7th floor is mainly where the guest rooms are, and the suite rooms are on the 7th floor. There is also a water heater room. I want to see the sunrise the next morning, so I’m going to go to bed early. Good night. Good morning. It’s 4:02. It’s a little before sunrise. I’ll wait a little for the moment of sunrise. The sun is starting to appear. Watch the moment of sunrise uncut. The sky is gradually turning orange. A divine moment in the day. I went back inside the ship. I took a little walk. There was no one on the 6th floor promenade. I went down to the 5th floor. There were a few people relaxing on the 5th floor promenade. Maybe they were watching the sunrise from here? A little time passed, and it was 4:35. The Sunflower was heading from Tomakomai to Oarai under the morning sun. It was a sight that could only be seen at this time of year. And soon another ferry appeared. It was a Pacific ferry heading from Tomakomai to Sendai. I think it was probably the “Kiso” or “Ishikari”. I think I could have taken a clear picture if I had a high-performance camera. What a shame… I went back inside the ship. There seemed to be an event going on inside the ship. (There was no event on the day I was on board.) The ship is really quiet in the morning. I was thirsty so I bought some juice. I chose Coca-Cola. After returning to my room, I could see the Todogasaki lighthouse from the window. I checked the map to make sure I was in Igasaki. I went back to sleep until breakfast. I think it’s about time to get up and go to breakfast. By the way, this is the Mifune-in I bought at the shop last night. (A commemorative card for the ride) I came to the restaurant. Breakfast is also a buffet. Here is natto, rolled omelet. Orange, seaweed salad, stewed cabbage and hijiki . Mentaiko, salt-grilled mackerel with grated daikon radish. Meatballs and sausages. Tofu. Oh, they have boiled dumplings! Fried egg . French fries. Rice accompaniments such as pickled plums, pickles, seaweed , and furikake. Croissants, toast, butter, and jam. Milk, corn flakes, fruit punch, yogurt. Miso soup . There was also corn soup. I put the rice in a bowl, poured curry roux on top, and my morning curry was ready. I brought a lot of things , mainly curry . With all this, I felt like I wouldn’t be able to eat lunch. I was being too greedy. 😅Many passengers were eating breakfast in the restaurant. The salted mackerel was delicious. By the way, if you buy a set ticket for dinner and breakfast, you can save 500 yen compared to paying for each separately. If you want to eat well at night and in the morning, I recommend buying a set ticket. I think the number of breakfast items is enough. I was happy to be able to eat breakfast at a window seat with a long-awaited sea view. I really wanted to eat bread, so I brought it with me… I also had yogurt. I didn’t eat bread when I was on board before. I’m greedy and will eat it this time. 🤭Next time I’ll have a bread-based breakfast… I thought the name “Happy Seaweed” was auspicious. I’m pretty full… I’ll eat the yogurt to the end. I’ll have a cafe latte after the meal. Thank you for the meal. I ate too much breakfast, so I guess I can’t eat lunch after all. 😅After the meal, I took a little walk around the ship again. This is the commemorative photo corner. This is the kids’ room. Shoes are strictly prohibited inside, so I put my shoes in the shoe box. There are picture books, stuffed toys, play equipment, etc., so children will enjoy it. From October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025, Sunflower will be holding a stamp rally on the edge. It seems like it will be difficult to complete it. The Oarai-Tomakomai route is 40 years old. I came to the kitchen. The kitchen is convenient with a hot water heater, a water cooler, and a microwave. This is a paid refrigerated locker. 200 yen per use. Coin-return coin lockers. There are two sizes. Coin-return lockers cost 100 yen to use, but are returned after use. There is a powder room in the women’s restroom on the 5th floor. The restroom on the 5th floor is near the comfort (large room). The trash cans are properly separated. This is the multi-function toilet and shower room. There are chairs and handrails in the shower room . Body soap and rinse-in shampoo are also provided. Sink. Toilet with warm water washing function. This is also a sink. There is also a nursing bed. I came to the information desk. It seems that you can take the earphones used for the TV on the Comfort from here. The earphones and slippers used on the Comfort are collected here. This is a guide on how to connect to the ship’s private network (where you can enjoy entertainment such as movies). It seems that udon, curry, etc. are provided for lunch. (I was full so I didn’t eat it.) I came to the game corner. There are various games such as crane games and slot games. I came to the massage corner. There are four types of massage. 200 yen per time. It works for 12 minutes. Let’s relieve the fatigue of the journey. I chose the relaxation course. Wow, it works… The chair moves and massages my back like this. The calf massage was also very pleasant. This is the pet room. Advance reservations are required to use it. You can let your dog play in the dog run on the deck. I came to the deck. The orange funnel stands out against the blue sky. The Sunflower mark is under the funnel. We are approaching Tomakomai, but the fog makes it hard to see anything… Perhaps the weather in Tomakomai is not so good. A red lighthouse on the starboard side. A white lighthouse on the port side. We are entering Tomakomai Port. If it was clear, I think you would be able to see the cityscape of Tomakomai beyond that tugboat… This is the Pacific Ferry’s Kitakami! From here, you can watch the ferry approaching the Kitakami without any cuts. By the way, as we approached the Tomakomai West Ferry Terminal, the Sunflower Song was playing on the deck. And this “Sunflower” by the Hamburger Boys was also playing. The docking process has begun. The rope is attached to the mooring post. The fun voyage is over in a flash. It may be quite rare to be able to see the Kitakami from this angle. The side lamp is lowered. The boarding bridge is installed. Before you know it, it’s time to disembark. The Japanese-style room I stayed in this time had a tatami floor and I was able to relax. I think Japanese-style rooms are good for one person. However, if there are two of us and we bring a large suitcase, we were a little worried about where to put the suitcase. I think it would be better for two people to bring less luggage or a small carry-on suitcase. We left the ferry terminal and waited for the bus to Sapporo. The bus arrived. We got on the bus and headed to Sapporo. We slept soundly on the bus. 😴Thank you for watching until the end. If you liked the video, please subscribe to the channel and rate it highly.
