【欧州1ヶ月周遊#11】ファーストクラスでマラケシュからフェズへ【2泊3日】現地の両替・カード事情|ハリラスープが絶品| モロッコ50代ひとり旅

Hello, I’m Inomata from Neige. This channel is a channel that distributes travel and daily life vlogs. This time, my trip to Morocco started in Marrakech and traveled around the route going north to Fez and Chefchaouen. This time, I will introduce the city of Fez, which is also popular as a labyrinth city. If you like, please watch the video until the end. Fez is also known as a labyrinth city, but as someone involved in handicrafts, it was a place I wanted to visit once because it has an artisan district. In the next video, I will go to a place called Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen is famous as a blue city and I often saw it in travel magazines, so it was a place I wanted to go to someday. So I hope you will look forward to the development of future videos. Actually, in the previous video of Marrakech, I mentioned currency exchange, but when I looked back at it this time, it seemed that the fees at the ATMs in the city were high, and in fact, exchanging money at the airport was cheaper because there was no fee. I didn’t use the ATMs in Marrakech, but the ATMs in Fez actually had a fee added on . I would like to share a little bit of the screen of Sony Bank like this. This is the currency exchange at the airport . There is an ATM fee and then a local fee , but the non-transaction fee is not much different here and here . When I think about it, I feel that there is not much difference even if I exchange money at the airport. Also, in Morocco, there are only a limited number of places where you can make an advance payment, and if you use a card, you may be charged a small additional fee, so I recommend paying with cash as much as possible. In the end, I used up all my euros and had no cash on me, which was really inconvenient. By the way, accommodation tax and taxi fare are also paid in cash, so if you are planning a trip to Morocco, please refer to this. The road felt like driving through the desert, but I was on the train for about 6 hours. I sat down the whole time without getting up to go to the toilet, and the seat was surprisingly comfortable. There are first class and second class seats on this train, but the price was not that high, so I chose first class this time . It seems that the second class seats are not that different in terms of space . By the way, I was able to buy the train ticket online, but I couldn’t pay with Rakuten’s credit card. I had some time during my stay, so I walked to Marrakech’s central station and bought a ticket. I was able to buy it at the counter with my credit card for 290 dirhams, which is about 4,600 yen in Japanese yen. Regarding this online payment, Japanese credit cards are often rejected when making online payments overseas, but I tried the Sony Bank debit card and this Visa card that I introduced before , and I was able to buy the CTM bus ticket to Chefchaouen smoothly from the official website. By the way, when I tried it in other countries, the Rakuten Visa card was rejected , but the Sony Bank debit card was usable in most places without any problems , so I realized that it is really convenient. However, since it is an instant payment, it is inconvenient if you don’t have a balance. Even if you lose it, a debit card cannot be used if you don’t have a balance, so when you leave the country, you only have the balance for your travel, and when you don’t have enough, you have to make an online arrangement to deposit money from Rakuten Bank locally. As for the taxi fare, you must negotiate when you get in a taxi . I think this is a bit of a hassle, but this time, when I got off the train in Fez and took a taxi to the old town, I paid the taxi fare, but many people tried to solicit me for a taxi, but I guess it’s the taxi rule, so the first person to call out to me gets in, but I still negotiated a lot and thought I had a suitcase this time, so I thought it was inevitable and wanted it to be a little cheaper, but I still got in, and the total cost was 25 dirhams. Even if you negotiate, it’s really 375 yen in Japanese yen, but it’s really a very low price. So I don’t really mind paying it as it is, but negotiating is also one of the fun things, so this time I negotiated and it became 25 This information is from May 2024, so I don’t think it’s that old. If you are going to travel in the future , please use it as a guide for the price . However, I was always struggling with not having enough cash, so I was determined to save even a little, and I think it was good that I asked for and negotiated. So I arrived in Fez safely. This is how it felt. A person sitting in front of the station said he wanted to eat a bite of French bread and tore it off, and it was so delicious that I was moved and almost cried. It was a long 7-hour train ride, but I was editing the whole time and watching Korean dramas to kill time, so it went by pretty quickly . It’s now 5:50 in the evening. I’m going to call the hotel and wait until the place where they will pick me up. Fez is like an old town, and it’s very crowded and easy to get lost, so I’m going to call them and they will come to pick me up. I’m not sure if they understand English, but I’ll try my best. After that, I arrived at the hotel and went inside the station. This is also a pretty spacious station with a great ceiling. I was able to call safely, so I took a taxi to the meeting place . I could see the amazing city. This place is different from Marrakech. I had to negotiate the taxi fare but I managed to get to the meeting place for 25DH. I wonder how far I went. There are purple flowers blooming here. What kind of flowers are they? The hotel staff showed me around. They said this place is delicious and also recommended Harira soup. They were very kind and nice people. I’m glad I stayed at that hotel! The olives are also delicious. I didn’t eat any food in Marrakech so I feel a bit refreshed. I think I’m finally feeling better. This soup is called Harira, and I’m supposed to drink it after fasting. I didn’t eat any food properly in Marrakech so it’s very refreshing. I wonder what it’s made with coriander in it . But it’s delicious. It’s so delicious. This soup is 10 dirhams so it’s only 100 or 150 yen. It has beans in it. It feels so good . It’s so delicious. I finally feel like I’ve had a decent meal. I only had hamburgers or bread so this kind of bread is often served with it. I didn’t even touch this, but I wanted to eat it with the soup. Tomorrow, the hotel staff recommended a 6-hour guided tour. The city of Fez has 9,400 roads in the medina. There are 9,400 roads, or rather alleys, so it’s really crowded and I can get lost. If I go around alone, I’ll get lost, but I’ll be safe with a tour guide, so I signed up . So tomorrow, I’ll walk around the city of Fez for the whole day . The chicken tajine has arrived. I feel like I can eat it for the first time in a while. I ordered a chicken tajine pot and fries. I don’t think I can eat it all, but I’ll eat it. It’s full of chicken. It’s 40 dirhams, so 600 yen is cheap. The fries are also delicious. I just wanted to eat meat. And it’s not spicy. It was good. The meat is soft and beautiful. It’s really delicious. I wonder if I can go home without getting lost. The hotel staff told me not to respond to the touts, so I have no choice but to pretend not to hear them with this camera in my hand. I’m going back with that strategy. The sun is setting. I wonder if this is the main street. If I come straight from the gate, I’ve been walking around this souvenir shop town for a long time, but the hotel owner said that the souvenirs here are not very good quality, but there is a proper market that our guide will take me to tomorrow where the quality is better . I was told many times not to buy anything here because the prices are inflated for tourists, so I think I’ll be careful and just take a quick look. There are an awful lot of fakes of great brands here, especially Louis Vuitton. I wonder how they get the fabric and how they make it, so even if the clothes they own, the clothes they wear, and the shoes they wear look like Adidas, they aren’t actually Adidas. It’s a strange town. I haven’t actually bought any souvenirs yet. I actually want some babouches, so I hope I can find some here. Tour guides pay in cash, so I withdrew money from an ATM . I was able to withdraw money with my Sony debit card , which was very convenient. I arrived . From the outside, you would never think that there was a room like this. Wow, it was very liberating. I think I cleared the first hurdle. The hotel I stayed at this time is called Dar Hafsa. The reviews were great. Also, the room wasn’t that big, and it was right below the front desk. It was like this, and the bed. It only accepted cash payments, so I paid 60 dirhams in cash. I’m glad I have it. It’s a shower and a toilet . It also has a hair dryer. It’s not that big, but I’m only going to sleep, so I think it’s enough. I was a little nervous from the morning, so I was relieved. The hotel staff are very friendly and tell me about various things, so I feel at ease. My stomach is full. It’s been a while since I’ve had a proper meal. I’m glad I was able to eat a decent meal. I’ll be sightseeing again tomorrow. Good night. So how was the first part of this Fez tour? Next time, I’ll explore the labyrinth city of Fez with a Japanese guided tour. If you like, please look forward to the next video. Thank you for watching until the end. See you on the next trip.
