トーマスランドは値段に見合う価値があるのか?きかんしゃトーマステーマパークレビュー | ドレイトン・マナー

hello and welcome back to Explore Home Repeat today we’re at Thomas Land at Drayton Manor a theme park area entirely based on Thomas the Tank Engine and friends with themed rides character meet and greets and plenty for younger kids to explore it’s a big draw for families but with fairly expensive ticket prices and potentially long cues is it actually worth the cost of admission we’ll check out all the rides explore the rest of the park and see if it’s worth the money so stick around to the end of the video for our full review right now let’s go and explore we’ve just got here first thing we’re going to go straight onto Jeremy’s Jet Flying Academy this looks good planes that spin around on a sort of flat ride let’s give it a go
it looks like you can hold the button to make Jeremy fly they have got like little steering wheels to make it feel like you’re in control of the plane it’s going fast now we’re on Captain Sea Adventure it’s a little boat ride i mean the water doesn’t really make much difference just like a spinning almost like a teacups ride if you’re not really very good at spinning rides this is this is quite intense
it’s pretty full on i don’t know we’re all going to come off this ride a little bit green i think it does spin a lot now we did get in early this morning and the car park looked really busy loads of people coming in at half 10 thomas Land first thing in the morning we’ve done two rides in about 5 minutes so really good so far next up we went on Sodor Classic Cars a ride where you drive a vintage car round a track as with quite a few of the rides at Thomas Land you could only get one adult per car so if there’s three of you two adults and one child it does mean you get split up one problem we did have throughout the day was that two rides Thomas and Percy’s Submarine Splash and Sodor Classic Cars regularly seemed to break down but it did seem like it was a consistent problem with these two rides next we’re going on Winston’s whistle stop tour so this is where you drive like a car but up in the air [Music] how was it did you do good
really good wasn’t it
i stopped just to let some other people on but yeah really good little ride it’s really good to get an idea of what there is at Thomas Land that you can see right the way over it it gives you a full tour so maybe a good ride to do first to kind of get your bearings so this is cool once you come off of that aerial ride touring around the park you come into this building and there was the some of the original models from the original TV series so they’ve got real Thomas it’s really detailed and it’s absolutely huge loads to look at it’s crazy to think that this was used for some of the real filming of the original series here you can see the scale of this model it goes all the way down here and then into a separate room so it goes through these tunnels and then comes out over here into the sort of town and industrial area it’s really really well made it’s amazing to see it as well next we’re going to go on James and the Red Bull now this is a little balloon ride very gentle but looks quite fun ready to go
ready to go ready to spin oh no it’s Whoa was that really good really good you like that one didn’t you that was funny and we could see mommy in the other one she was spinning loads i have to say this Thomas Land is particularly well themed but the rides are definitely kind of older they also seem to be a bit slower so you get bigger queue times I would say as well um they just seem to be less throughput of people it takes them longer to kind of load on and off and things so just keep that in mind in this larger part of Thomas they have got ladies carousel so a little miniature carousel train themed of course and Sienna and Izzy are going to go on this now [Music] they do have Sir Topham Hat or what was previously known as the Fat Controller walking around meeting guests taking photos again just brings it all to life this guy seems to work very hard he’s been doing shows and meet and greets all day if you’ve got slightly older kids or particularly daring ones they do have a little runaway roller coaster called Troublesome Trucks it’s pretty short track and nothing too daring really for what is a little kids theme park but it just gives a few more options and does look quite fun there are a few rides that also have on ride photos so you can obviously pay for those or get a download of them in case you’re wondering about all the ride height restrictions here is a big long list of them which you can pause and take a look they are also obviously on the website as well next up Harold’s helicopter tours see if we can get Sienna on this one the wait times haven’t been too bad today what’s the maximum we’ve seen about 15
15 minutes something like that I think
which isn’t bad at all considering it’s a sunny day in June all right we’re not in school holidays yet but it’s a Sunday um not too bad we’re now in Harold the helicopter sienna is going to pilot us it’s a bit scary
well I think she’s going to love it i’m really excited we’ve done so much so far
there are a lot of different rides just in this Thomas Land aren’t there loads and loads of different ones to try plus we’ve got then got the whole rest of the park as well off we go you’re driving so high wa sienna is very high you’ve taken us very high up in the sky sienna’s just bringing us into land i wish she’d look where she was going but she’s very good seems to have been a very smooth flight next we’re going to try Diesel’s Locomotive Mayhem a flat spin ride [Music] so Matt and Sienna are going to go on Flynn’s Fire Rescue you excited
very excited i wanted to go on this all day you stand on this and then this kind of lifts up and down and then there’s like water guns there and then I think those are the holes you got to spray the fire out quite a good little idea really I don’t think you’ve seen this anywhere around if the wind catches the water everyone just gets soaked i think they’re doing okay how How really wet
really really wet so here’s the entrance and then you’ve got Thomas Land right next to the entrance but you mustn’t forget you’ve also got the rest of this quite big theme park with lots of much bigger rides for big kids and adults we’ve just popped out because Sienna if you’ve watched any of our vlogs before of theme parks she absolutely loves a carousel are you going to go on a horsey
this is a double so just looking at the map it looks like it’s split up into sort of four areas so you’ve got Thomas Land then you’ve got the zoo then you’ve got the gold rush area and then the waves which is a lot of the water rides so yeah it’s probably Thomas’s at least a quarter of it but there’s a lot of rides packed into a small space in Thomas Land and just exploring around here and you can see Thomas Land over in the distance you got that Maelstrom big swing ride you then got a swing seat ride over here a huge great big roller coaster and I think called the wave and then behind me this is the queue for the great big log ride and then that swinging gallion ride as well as loads of other fairground attractions as well there’s really a lot to see for the money here one thing I do like about this area near the wave is that all the rides are really kind of close together and intertwining so you’re sort of walking under the the roller coasters you walk right near all where the water rapids are it’s really quite well put together looks well planned also have got some big play park areas for the little kids as well to burn off some steam next up we explored Gold Rush this western themed area had some smaller rides in comparison to the wave part of the park which is really good for Sienna this huge great big blasting barrels business uh let’s have a look see what it is i don’t know it’s a huge big kind of warehouse looking thing it’s like a teacups ride really cowboy themed but the whole platform tips up at an angle and if you want to spin it you can go so fast so we just went on Sheriff Showdown a cart ride where you have to shoot at target my gun wasn’t working at all
i was like and I won
no Sienna won
sienna did really well at shooting didn’t you
not that we like to encourage that kind of thing but
but it was um
not working
mine wasn’t working was it no worth noting they have a reasonable size zoo section to this park as well quite good selection of animals [Music] this zoo isn’t massive but you’ve sort of got gibbony things over here this is a lynx enclosure you’ve then got a fishing cat red pandas there a good few little enclosure was really good wasn’t it
yeah it’s quite spaced out i mean it’s not quite good for really strong kids cuz they’re quite high up the um enclosures so you have to kind of keep lifting your toddler
but a good selection of lizards and animals and snakes and things like that as part of the zoo area they’ve got a little dinosaur park that you can wander around it’s all done quite nicely sort of wetlands and lots of nice planting we’re next to the big dinosaur park we were hoping to try and skip this but there’s a big train play area with lots of slides and things to climb on from the zoo area you can then get on the train back to Thomas Land so that’s what we’re going to do shortly the ride on Thomas is not only a fun little ride for kids and everyone to get on but it actually gets you from one end of the park to another so you get to see a different area it’s good no I think it’s a good way to like get people out of Thomas Land and into the rest of the park
spreads people out definitely here we are back at Napford Station so that’s our day over at Drayton Manor and Thomas Land we’re back home now what did you think of it
i think it was a pretty good day we were there the whole day um I’d say the rides the theming were pretty good it wasn’t too busy but and we were very lucky with the weather yeah absolutely i I was quite impressed with the queue times i don’t think they could get people through the rides quite as quickly as they do at Peppa Pig but in general it was still very short Q rides i think the maximum we probably had was 15 minutes all day and in June on a sunny day weekend I think that’s pretty good really one other thing I was really impressed with was the rest of the park obviously we went there mainly for Thomas Land but they had some really cool roller coasters some good water rides really good selection of rides for young and older people uh for the price I think it’s brilliant i think it’s really really good
there was a couple of negatives nothing major just it’s a little bit dated and some of the rides are just spinning
yeah there’s a lot of spinning rides couple of rides that were very temperamental kept going down throughout the day but generally really really good i would say just not quite as good as Peppa Pig World at Portton’s Park but it’s very very close still an excellent day out we’ll put a link to that video down below so you can check out Pton’s Park for yourself right with that being said we’re going to go now don’t forget to like and subscribe and we’ll see you next time

  1. Who doesn't love a carousel? I have to say if this Thomas Land had been about when I was a child I may have been there. I loved the original tv show (narrated by Ringo Starr), the books and the Hornby train sets (I had a Percy and Gordon one). Great video as always.

  2. Great video. Looked fun, Sienna was enjoying herself as you two were. Went years ago to Drayton Manor, Thomas land not there then. Seems a great day out for the family

  3. Hi Matt, Issy and Sienna, looked like you all had a good day out. Excellent driving skills there Sienna – well done! There certainly seemed plenty to do. Thank you as ever for sharing your day out – brilliant video.
