Rose Garden “Fairy Tales” in Moegi Village!
Hello, I’m Ichiro 😊 Today, I came to Moegi Village in Kiyosato, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. June 27, 2025. Moegi Village is a tourist complex with 23 facilities, including restaurants, a small hotel, a music box museum, and a workshop. Recently, we’ve been seeing more foreign tourists in tour groups. The facility features natural gardens designed by landscape architect Paul Smither. Viewing the natural gardens is free of charge.✌️ Today, we will visit the garden café “Fairy Tales.” This place is 1,200 meters above sea level. It’s about two months later than flatlands, but now is the best time to see the roses. This is Fairy Tales. It opens at 10:00. The entrance is under a large blue spruce tree. The admission fee is 880 yen, including a drink. The shop also sells flower seedlings sourced directly from producers and garden accessories. Many cold-hardy flowers that can grow in high-altitude resort areas are also available for purchase. Now, let’s head inside. I will shoot a non-stop long take video of the garden, and then change the camera settings to take close-up shots of the flowers. Actually, I came here 10 days ago, but at that time, only a few roses were in bloom. Today, on a sunny day during the rainy season, I came back again. Now, let’s take a stroll through the Fairy Tales Garden. 😊 The Fairy Tales Garden is very well maintained. ✌️ It rained yesterday, but there’s no sign of it anywhere. It seems that it was tidied up before opening. Blue sky and crimson roses 😊 The garden is in its 21st year. At first, some roses were damaged by the cold. The roses currently growing are cold-hardy varieties. In winter, temperatures can drop to -20°C in this area, but no special winter protection measures such as mulching are taken. During the summer, they take care of the roses to keep them strong and healthy, paying attention to diseases and giving them plenty of nutrients. They say that rain is more difficult to deal with than cold weather. Due to the altitude of 1,200 meters, it rains a lot. In addition, the peak blooming season coincides with the rainy season. After it rains, it’s time to deadhead the flowers.😅 It is perhaps because of all these tales of hardship that this garden is like the fairy tales garden. Today, I traveled an hour and a half from my home at the foot of Mt. Fuji. There are no spring cicadas at the foot of Mt. Fuji, where I live, so the sound of spring cicadas singing takes me to another world.😊 Hydrangeas are also in bloom. Mountain hydrangeas are cold-hardy. I’m back at the terrace seating area. Bright yellow honeysuckle 😊 Soon, this gazebo will be covered in honeysuckle. Pink and orange honeysuckle 😊 That concludes our stroll through Fairy Tales. Once the stroll is over, I’m going to order a drink. Since I’m having tea in the Fairy Tales garden, I’ll order “apple cinnamon tea,” which I don’t usually get to drink. 😊 While waiting for the apple cinnamon tea to be ready, let’s change the camera settings and try filming a video. Thank you for watching the video until the end. See you in the next video! 😊 The apple cinnamon tea was absolutely delicious! ✌️
