I Walked 20KM Nonstop in Delhi – Here’s What Happened…
Delhi is not just a capital, it’s a story. Every street, every neighbourhood here is a part of history. And today I’m out to understand this city. Neither in a car nor in a metro, but on my own feet. I’m going to walk 20 km from Jama Masjid to India Gate. On the way, I’ll come across the crowds and sweetness of Chandni Chowk, the taste of the Paratha Gali, the walls of the Red Fort, the silence of the Rajghat, and the pride of India Gate. This journey is a challenge as well as a discovery. Will I be able to feel both the cities of this city, Old Delhi and New Delhi, together? Come, come with me on this passionate journey of 20 km, where you’ll find a story at every step, and a New Delhi will be seen at every turn. Welcome, this is Delhi, raw, loud, spiritual and unforgettable. Today I’m going to travel 20 km in Delhi, from Old Delhi to New Delhi. And I won’t take any metro, nor will I take any cab, I’ll just walk on foot, and the camera, nothing else. Right now I’m standing at Jama Masjid. First, I’ll walk inside it, then slowly, I’ll show you the whole area. I will go with me, this is the stairs of Jama Masjid, let’s go up it, I will have to take off my shoes here, I will take them off, I will bring them in my hand, bring them in your hand once, I will take them in my hand, if you have one pair, they are saying take them in your hand, friends, I can hold these shoes in my hand and walk, if you have one pair, then you keep holding them in your hand and I am entering inside Jama Masjid, look at this, its huge dome and this is the biggest mosque of India, so you can see the view inside it, brother, look at this, friends, this is Jama Masjid, friends, the sun is very strong but still it is fun, let’s go outside, I wear it quickly, I am standing near Jama Masjid and here I am standing on top, so you can see the view from above, look, these stairs are made in this way to go down, but it is at a little height, so the whole market is visible here in front, come on, there is a market here, I will show you the market, see how many good things are available here, look at this, you will see the view of the whole market, clothes etc., look at the shoes Etc. whatever, this type of market is set up all over Old Delhi, entire Chandni Chowk and whatever you want to buy, it is available, it is a very good market, interesting, see how nicely they have arranged all the things in the shop, all are made of brass and everything from small to big is available, how much is the plate, this is for 10, for 10, this is dragon fruit, right? Yes friend, dragon is good, it is very good, I eat something else, I am in the mood to eat something else, there is no fruit right now but you can eat fruits, fruits are good here in summer, I drink lassi first, I feel like drinking lassi, lassi is first class in summer, brother, how much does lassi cost? ₹20, 20 and 30 also, ok make one for 30, hey, these dolls are looking so good, look at this, it is cool, till when does it remain, in the evening, in the night from 10 to 11, 11:00 and entry into it is closed at 11:8:00 in the mosque The entry closes at 8:00 am and opens at 11:00 am. This is good. So friends, the entry to the mosque is only till 8:00 am, after that it closes, but this market remains open till 11:00 am. This is it. Yes, put some too. Very good, friends, the lassi has come. It looks delicious. It is awesome . So friends, I drank the lassi. It was quite delicious. It was for ₹20, but I got peace because it is very hot. You must be seeing how much I am sweating. So now I am going towards Chandni Chowk. Look, there are guavas etc. here. These are the shots like this. So Bhaiya is telling it clearly that you will get cold lassi. Repeated . So I am moving towards Chandni Chowk. This is S Planet Road. I am coming from Jama Masjid and this Chandni Chowk is just straight. Going ahead, you will find shops everywhere in Old Delhi. Look at this, and look at this rickshaw. Friends, sit comfortably at the back. It will run on battery. This is Jagannath ji’s temple. Come here. From inside this I have come to Chandni Chowk on the main road, you see the view here, there is a whole market here and I am coming from this side, in front is the Red Fort so let’s go inside it, let’s explore, let’s see all the rickshaw pullers standing there, if you want to go somewhere around here, all the rickshaw pullers are available, these small vehicles are parked, how much do they cost brother, vehicles are for 50-50, yes it is good for children, it is good for children only, yes it’s okay brother, okay The sun is strong but it is also fun to roam around. You can see so many shops and stalls are built like this on the side. The real Delhi is this, Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk. If you want to enjoy the real fun of Delhi, then come here, in Chandni Chowk. And I am wearing these glasses, brother, how are these glasses? Okay, these are glasses for ₹60, ₹1, ₹60, ₹100. Look, these are such nice glasses. You want to buy any type of glasses for ₹60, buy them from here. You will get glasses of all designs for ₹60 to ₹100. The heat is so intense that my phone is getting heated again and again, so I have to stop for a while in between. So, okay, I am enjoying. Which street is this? Dariba Dariwa Dariba Dariba Dariba, this is a street. And in this also, if you see, there are old buildings built on the top and there is a whole market below. So, friends, Old Delhi is hundreds of years old and accordingly, the buildings here are also and The entire market, all the shops are very old, you can see from here, I am zooming and you can see how old everything is, people live upstairs in this and there is a market downstairs , give me the orange juice for Rs., make it, people drink orange juice, friends, in summer, the more you drink the better it is, you don’t get dehydrated, drink as much juice as possible while extracting fresh juice from this machine and stay healthy, thank you friend, thank you, I was listening Bhaiya Ji and I thought that this too is from my UP side, I am from Lucknow, so she told me after listening, I don’t know if he is from there, then I came to know that this too is from Bahraich, wow Bhaiya , hot jalebi is being made friends and this has been made recently here, this type of parjil is being used, come a few years ago, don’t eat so much, look, it is made well in the middle also, oh children, the camera falls right now, I am driving a rickshaw, I don’t have one hand but still I am driving the rickshaw, so this is an interesting scene of Chandni Chowk, the sun is very strong but all good, this is the Gurudwara in front, Ganj Gurudwara here Here for the Gurudwara to take off shoes and slippers, while doing public service here, y Guru ji, how many handkerchiefs did you give, two for 50, give me two, so these handkerchiefs are selling, uncle ji give me two for ₹50, I’ll take two handkerchiefs, he gave me two handkerchiefs, they are quite good behind, Tili jungle , so going ahead here, there is Paratha Wali Gali, let’s go there and eat parathas, there is Haldiram here and the whole market will be there, come to Rani Chowk, you must eat parathas, it is afternoon time, so the crowd is a little less, but in the evening the crowd increases quite well, as the evening comes closer, the crowd increases here, but even in the afternoon the crowd is not less, it is quite good and this place is known for the crowd, Old Delhi, here we come friends, Paratha Wali Gali, now let’s go inside it and eat amazing parathas, I eat Babu Ram ji’s parathas, this is the most famous shop here, I sit here since 1889, I just sat here peacefully, I told friends to eat parathas Aloo ka Paratha so this is a plate of Aloo ka Paratha and it costs ₹200 it has two pieces of parathas in it you get many different varieties of parathas here but the shop in which I am sitting is the oldest shop of Babulal ji, these people are working here since 1889, there was potato, this is called Aloo ka Paratha, these are like rice parathas and here came the vegetable and here is chutney etc. with it you can eat comfortably with water, let’s eat, I will enjoy so I ate friends I had the parathas here were very tasty parathas, I enjoyed it so this is the Paratha Wali Gali whenever I am coming you can come here now I will go ahead this is Sarafa Market Gali here you will find jewellery shops all lined up on that side was the Paratha Wali Gali do you drive a rickshaw right here in Chandni Chowk since when have you been driving it since 18 years you have been driving it for 18 years how much do you earn in a day how much do you earn in a day Me, hey, leave that, tell me the next thing, what do you want to do and go, what ‘s the matter, I am asking like this, you won’t tell me at Red Fort, brother, you are shy to tell, it is such a small thing, this is Hanuman ji’s temple, it is in the middle of the road, it is absolutely wish-fulfilling, Shri Hanuman Seva Samiti, Jai Shri Bajrangli Hanuman, go straight ahead, further ahead there is Red Fort, so if we go towards Red Fort, it is so hot but still people keep wandering, this is the special thing, I have eaten so much food that my stomach is completely full, so I am walking, then it will get digested quickly, can there be a little air blowing? If it is hot then there is a little relief, otherwise the heat is very intense 200 200 This is a bag shop You will get bags etc. at reasonable rates, so Chandni Chowk is such a place where you can get American Tourister bag for ₹200, you can buy it How was the belt, two for ₹100 will come Two for 100 Yes, two for ₹100 Two for ₹100 Two for ₹100 So you can see this, you can buy two belts for 100 They are of different colours and the quality is also good What a fan it is friend Bhaiya 150 for 100 for 150 Don’t do it like this by running everything you will consume the battery in it, it gets switched on with the battery button Yes, this is a fan worth ₹150 It gets switched on with a button It has battery, to charge it, put it here in the wall from here ok ok light is also fitted The fan is chargeable, it is chargeable, see the air How much is the fan Here are two quickly, hey, don’t drop it, I have bought this fan for ₹150, it has come in front, friends, Red Fort, look at this, we are just walking this way, you see the market on both sides, friends, there is nothing here that you will not find , even in the small lanes of Chandni Chowk, goods are carried, there are electrical shops here , I have come inside a lane, these speakers are kept here, so nice, look at these, if you want to buy some electrical goods, come inside this, this is in front, Shri Gauri Shankar temple, Chandni Chowk, Om Namah Shivay, Har Har Mahadev, this is Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir, the most happening area of the whole Delhi, Old Delhi Chandni Chowk, which I have just taken you around from behind and you have seen how full of speculations it is, but it is so interesting, this is the fun in Old Delhi, now I go in front, towards Red Fort, will I be able to get out from here, okay, I will have to take out my bag, I can get out like this, look at this traffic, friends, let’s go in front, Red Fort, here is Red Fort, friends, its entry is from the front, I will see, ahead, gate number two or three, maybe I am telling you it is from there but this is a red in front friends see this along with food and drinks there are many other things set up on the closed side of the road look at this you friends fake apples how much are the cars brother ₹100 these are cars for only ₹100 so friends as I am moving towards the gate of Red Fort you look behind, there is a wonderful market set up on the road there is no tension of food and drinks no tension of buying just keep walking you will keep getting everything on the side this road is going on the side I am walking on this side rickshaw pullers keep calling me on the way I am walking on foot only you can get a tattoo here there is a gate of Red Fort quite ahead so you have to walk a bit till there otherwise you can take a rickshaw you can reach by rickshaw also keep walking keep walking from where I was standing the red was showing from there this gate is about 1.5 km away so this gate is on that side further so you have to walk a bit otherwise you can take a rickshaw and it will be better you Take a rickshaw , here is the entry gate, we have to go inside, I am a little tired of walking in so much sun, I have stood in the shade, let me relax a little, I am on the road itself, the entry gate is right here, behind this the sun is very strong, so I have stopped for a while to relax, let’s go ahead friends, there is entry towards Red Fort from here, here is the ticket counter for Red Fort, you can buy the ticket at home from here and then proceed ahead here, I am sweating, I am getting a little stomach ache, that is because of the heat, not a little, it is because of dehydration, just like it happens in summer, the same is happening, I am drinking water and stopping at intervals so that my health doesn’t deteriorate too much, it doesn’t deteriorate at all, I am feeling fine, there is nothing so much, just a little lightheadedness after eating, I am feeling the same and it is hot of course and we have reached near Red Fort, here how much does a photo cost, ₹ 40 sir, one photo is okay, ₹ 40 Yes, you can get it clicked, this is the Red Ford friends, in this manner, I was standing there just now on that side of the road, I went around it from outside, came there, crossed here completely and then entered there, so there is no direct entry from here, you will have to come by taking a round from outside , so this Red Fort friends, was built by the Mughal ruler Shahjahan between 1638 to 1648, for 200 years, all the Mughal rulers lived here, this was their main fort, they lived here and this fort is inside the UNESCO World Heritage and when India got independence in 1947 Independence Day: So the flag was first hoisted here on 15th August 1947 and every year our Prime Minister hoists the flag here on 26th January and 15th August. Republic Day and Independence Day are celebrated here. This Red Fort is a landmark in our Indian history. Now, if I move forward from here, if I go inside it from outside, it will take a lot of time. It is quite big. I am going back from the same route from which I came. And there is such a huge gap between the fort and the road. See, no one can go up. I entered from here. Now I am going straight outside. I came out from the back of the Red Fort and now I am going towards Rajghat. This is outside this Red Fort and when you come towards the road after coming out, there is a way to go to Rajghat. So, now I am going towards that side. In summers, you will get water, snacks, etc. on the side. So, even if you are walking, there is no problem. Take rest after eating and drinking. There are trees in between, so you can rest here. Rajghat from here. It is showing 1 and a half 2 km, so I am walking to Rajghat, the same place where Mahatma Gandhi’s Samadhi is located. When he died in 1948, a Samadhi was built there. His last rites were performed at the same place, so I am just walking there. So as soon as you leave the stress of Old Delhi and go towards New Delhi, Rajghat comes in New Delhi. When you walk in Delhi, gradually the crowd starts reducing. Now look at the road here, the traffic is more smooth. There is a lot of interest because of the market and Old Delhi. But here, as you move ahead, the traffic becomes smooth. The footpaths are better built at some places, and at other places they are a little damaged. The government keeps repairing them from time to time, but then it gets a little damaged . So, this water drinking camp has been set up in the middle. It is a very good thing because in this much heat everyone feels thirsty, so if we get a glass of water, it feels like nectar. Ah, what a thing. So we have to go right from here to Rajghat. So let’s cross it, now there is a service lane on this road as well, there is a main road there to go to that side, a service lane there as well and greenery has been made like this, the Samadhi Sthal is gradually coming closer, a little ahead is left and look at this area here, the footpath has been made so well and you can see the sun is shining, it is summer time, around 4:30 in the evening and the heat is very intense, thank God, there are a few trees etc., so we get shade, we get a little relaxed, otherwise you get burnt in the heat, I am carrying a water bottle with me, see, I keep drinking it in between, I sat down on the chair here, it was lying here, I said, let’s relax for two minutes, I got a little tired of walking and the stairs are so hot, so it is burning, it is so hot even while sitting, friends, so friends, on the other side of the road is Rajghat, here it is, look, you must be seeing the signboard in front, so now you have to go to the other side of the road, let’s go from there, I am crossing the road, I am going towards Rajghat, Rajghat is in front, let’s go, let’s see inside Rajghat and This is the area of Rajghat, look at this road, it is full of greenery, it is very peaceful here, there is no noise, no traffic, absolutely peaceful, this gate is closed, the entry will be from the front, so we walk towards the front, it is at a little distance , I am entering this, I came inside after doing the security check for Rajghat, Rajghat looks like this from inside, from here on the right is Kisan Ghat, here is the Samadhi of Chaudhary Charan Singh ji, this is in front, this place is very peaceful, built in the middle of nature, I am entering this, there is so much sunlight in the Samadhi Sthal, you see, and if I go further here, I will have to take off my shoes, then my feet will burn, the sun is falling directly on the face, it is very hot in the month of June, what else will happen, the heat will be intense, I am taking off my shoes, they are kept here, friends, this is the Samadhi Sthal in front and my feet are burning completely, this Corbett is spread right there but still it is very hot, this is the Samadhi Sthal, friends, I show you from the front, this is friends, friends, I am going out, I wore my shoes from the Samadhi Sthal, I am going out, I wore these shoes And one more thing happened, you see this nail, it had got stuck under my shoe and was pricking my feet so much that I took it out with great difficulty after some time, where do we get it from, it is really getting a bit sunny and shade, the sun was strong right now, there are a few clouds etc. so there is some shade in between, the heat is that much Now I leave Rajghat and walk towards India Gate and from here it looks like about 6-7 kms. So let’s walk on foot friends I took another bottle of cold water that bottle had become very hot I have taken the sixth bottle now I am starting for India Gate this bus is passing from here look at this bus number 307 all this I have come to a circle from where I had turned just now and from here onwards I have to go towards left this is the National Gandhi Museum I am passing from beside it here this Rajghat is built right in front and now I have to go straight on the road full of greenery neat and clean so friends my legs are paining while walking but the energy is getting exhausted but the energy of Delhi is not letting it get exhausted so my challenge to myself is that I will complete the stretch that I have thought of so I am enjoying it there is excitement also but I am getting tired also at the same time the body gives its answer I am walking by stopping while drinking water but I am also getting excited that yes, I am testing myself in all this, I am walking such a long distance after a long time but I am enjoying it, it is a very quiet road, very peaceful, the sides of the road are crowded, this road which is going next to me is Firoz Shah Kotla Fort, this was built by Firoz Shah Kotla in the 14th century, so this is also an attraction of Delhi, you can also come here, it is built right on the side of the road on which I am walking, its entry must be from that side, right now I have to go ahead here, so this is like this on the side and it is quite beautiful, see what kind of park etc. is made, nice, so the entry from here is Rose Garden Firoz Shah Kotla, you can go inside from here, I have just walked 2 km from there, 4 km 4 5 km still have to walk till India Gate, so I am continuing walking , it is evening, around 5:15, 5:30 and the sun is slowly setting a bit, so on the side where Old Delhi is now The area over there is built according to the old plan. All of this comes under New Delhi. New Delhi is an area of Central Delhi, so everything is built in a very well maintained manner. It means that if you come from Old Delhi to New Delhi, you will reach a different world. Both have their own specialties, their own identities, and both are very good. Don’t park your vehicle, it is forbidden. No parking, but still there is parking. I was coming, but now I turned here. It is showing the way to go to the gate. The PWD building is at a walking distance. I cross it and there is a road ahead. From there, I am going right. I have come to this. Income Tax Office, ITO Office. This village is called this . From here, I have to go straight. So, India Gate is 2-3 km from here and I am walking here on the footpath. It is slowly getting evening. This is the gate of PWD Head Quarters here as well, and this is the Delhi Police Head Quarters gate. There are seats. Friends, how much did you give me? Bhaiya, give me the one for 50 or 30. Thanks. I will take big ice, Bhaiya, raw ice. Wow friend for ₹20 , it’s very good, if you drink sugarcane juice in this heat , it is very enjoyable, it is a very cold juice, you can see the sweat on my forehead, how it is and the ultimate cold sugarcane juice, let’s go further now, it is still quite a bit far, 2-3 kms, it is here at ITO metro station, from here you can go down, now you have to go straight, so this is the view at 5:30 in the evening, 5:30 p.m and I am standing here, let’s cross the road near Idea intersection , now it’s 2 kms more from here, this is called Railway Tilak Bridge, we have to cross it from here, we have to go straight, this is Hanuman ji ‘s temple, it is an ancient Shiv temple, there is an idol of Hanuman ji installed, Jai Shri Hanuman ji and let’s cross this 187 quickly, ok, we’ve passed by, let’s cross it, the vehicles are stopped, we should cross on the footpath only, so I will cross on the footpath only, I will follow the rules, everybody should follow the rules, you can also see smart bikes here You can rank. If you want to ride a local bike here, you have to scan from here and after making the payment, you can rank this bike. By walking, All India Gate is just a little further, so this is the most elite area of Delhi. Central Delhi, ministers etc. live here, I mean the entire constitution of Delhi, I mean India, is run from this area, around Central Delhi, there are all the government buildings and residences of government offices, embassies etc., all are centers in Delhi, so this area is the most main area. Look at the footpaths here, how well they are built, friends. I was unable to walk, so I sat down on the footpath for a while. It has become a long walk, let’s rest for a minute and then move ahead from here. Now I have to go straight for about 1.5 kms, then India Gate will come ahead. Now while walking, along with my legs, my back is also paining. It is certain that when I lie down tonight, I will faint. Now my legs are not giving up. I am paining completely, from knees to heels. But okay, I have to complete the challenge, it is my own challenge, I will walk. I am fine. We have almost reached. After crossing this, there is an area ahead. We have come friends. Let’s go inside. Going inside has been banned and if we walk for a long time, then we will have to go inside. God, come on brother, it’s a moment. After walking so much, the fatigue is of an amazing level. My whole body is aching and this water bottle is all I am drinking and walking so that the energy remains. There is an entry from here, let’s go inside, let’s enter towards India Gate, they are not letting me take my bag inside. It is there and there is a laptop in it, so this bag which is hanging in front, has to be hung here, so I take out my laptop in my hand and then hang the bag here, I have taken the top in my hand, now I enter inside, I have come inside friends, and I am going towards India Gate, the laptop is with me, see, all these things have to be done because of security, okay, I am entering here, in front there is a statue of Subhash Chandra Bose ji in it and on that side is India Gate , friends, look at India Gate in front, it looks nice in the evening, it is 6:15 PM and this is the evening view of India Gate in New Delhi and it is crowded even in the evening, I mean today is a weekday and it is hot too but there is crowd in the evening and it is there in the afternoon as well, I have made one more video, before this you should see, in that also I have covered 12 places of Delhi, I had also come here, it was also in the afternoon but then there was crowd, now it looks good, friends this is India Gate behind me, you see, it is 5:15 in the evening and I was walking for such a long time. Distance Finally reached India Gate and this is the view of the evening, it was fun here, I walked a lot but it feels good to reach here because the energy of this place takes away all your tiredness, so this place is so good that it feels good to come here, on top of that it is evening time, the sunlight has reduced a bit, so it feels a little better, but yes, the whole body is aching, that will happen when I rest, but it was a challenge for me that I reached India Gate, it was fun to reach here and sat down for a while to relax, it is just in front of me and behind me there is a good wind blowing, I relax a little, I am very tired, so friends, I am standing on this side of India Gate and this waterfall is running behind and it is evening time, the sunset is almost about to end, means it is 6:30 at this time, it happens by 7:00, so friends, I thought this walk is just a walk, but this is not a walk, I got to know a lot of experiences that How is chaos, how are people in cities, what is the difference, you come from one place to another and you also get to know your own limits, yes, how much can I walk, how much can I do, so this is a very wonderful experience in itself, so I will keep this experience with me and will always remember that I did a challenge like this and completed it by myself and that too in such heat, in the heat of June, you know how hot it is in North India during the month of June, the temperature is 40 plus, but even at this time I covered this thing because I am feeling good, I am feeling good from inside and now my fatigue has also gone a little bit, because now when you reach a place, you feel that yes the challenge is completed a bit, I sat for a while, my legs got some relaxation, but obviously you will not get like this, now when I lie down and sleep, then only I will be completely relaxed, but this is an amazing experience, whatever it is, so how did you like this experience friends? How did you like this video, do tell me in the comments. I will wait for you to tell me how you liked this experience which I showed in the entire video and if you want more content like this in the future then do tell me, I will cover more places and will keep making it in this way, okay friends, do share your experience, I will meet you in the next video till then take care
