【平塚 妙圓寺】巳年に絶対お参りしたい!神秘の岩屋に祀られる宇賀神様と銭洗い弁財天で金運アップ!

Hello everyone! This is the Tocomama Information Bureau. Today I came to Hiratsuka City in Kanagawa Prefecture. This year is the year of the snake, so I’ve been visiting various shrines and temples that worship the snake god , but the place I’m visiting today also worships the snake god! That’s why I came here. Today I’m going to a temple, Myoenji Temple in Hiratsuka City. Benzaiten is enshrined in the grounds, and there seems to be a cave. I think the snake god is enshrined inside it. I’d like to go up to see what kind of temple it is . It’s a very peaceful place. We’ve arrived. The hydrangeas are starting to bloom beautifully. The Tendai sect Myoenji Temple is cute! There are many hanging dolls hanging and decorated. We will go through this gate and enter the temple grounds. The curtain hanging over the mountain gate has the Tendai sect’s crest, “Chrysanthemum with Three Truth Stars,” with stars arranged in a triangle in the center of a chrysanthemum . This is the first time I’ve heard of this Tendai sect crest. Excuse me. The grounds are very beautiful. There seems to be a chozuya here, so I will purify myself first. It feels so good! There is a pond. Pink hydrangeas are blooming. There is a big water basin here, which is amazing! It says that this water basin is a chozuya made from “honkomatsu stone”. It is made from 6 tons of honkomatsu stone mined in Manazuru Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is made into a water basin. Wow , how nice! In the center of the chozuya is a painting of the eight-armed Uga Benzaiten. The official name is “Wakozan Iouin Myoenji” and it is a Tendai sect temple whose head temple is Enryakuji Temple on Mount Hiei. The date of its founding is unknown, but it is said to have been revived in the first year of the Genna era, about 400 years ago, by a monk from Mount Hiei, Shunkyo Ajari . In front of the main hall, there is something that looks like a jewel… It is connected to the main deity of the main hall, Benzaiten, with a five-colored string. Here is the jewel. It says to turn it clockwise three times with a wish. The octagonal stone pillar supporting the jewel has Benzaiten’s mantra and wishes engraved on it. Moreover, this five-colored rope of fate (en no tsuna) is tied to Ugajin and the rotating jewel only once every 12 years, in the year of the snake. This year, the year of the snake, is definitely a temple I want to visit. It is a power stone that says that by turning it three times with a wish, you will receive the same merit as if you chanted it . I was able to turn it surprisingly smoothly. I turned the jewel. You can freely enter the main hall and worship here . They said it’s okay to take photos. Wow! Wow! Amazing! It opened automatically! Wow! Amazing! Now, I’ll go inside the main hall and worship. I was surprised by the modern automatic doors, but the main hall itself is about 270 years old, having been rebuilt in 1745. Inside the hall, many Buddhist statues are enshrined, including the principal image, the seated Amida Nyorai, as well as Kannon Bodhisattva and Acala. There was also a sign explaining how to worship and the order in which to worship. Following the indicated route, we went around the hall. First, we worshiped the principal image. We rang the bell twice and offered incense. From now on, it seems there is a set route inside the main hall, so we will worship in order. First, the left room. It seems that Yakushi Nyorai is enshrined here. Many temari balls are hung like curtains. Behind them is a standing Yakushi Nyorai statue, which is said to have been the original principal image of Myoenji Temple . This Yakushi Nyorai standing statue is said to have been erected by the monk Gyoki. We chant “Onkorokoro Sendarimatougi Sowaka” to Yakushi Nyorai. Mantras are considered sacred words, and it is important to chant with a pure heart and sincerity. Next is this person. We go around ringing the bell. This is a statue of King Enma. Finally, in the right room, there is a statue of Acala, and guardians are the red and blue demons. There are also various other Buddhist statues such as Kannon and Benzaiten. Inside the main hall, autographed autographs of famous people are displayed. There are many famous names such as entertainers and athletes. Taro Kono was from Hiratsuka. Now that I have visited the main hall, I would like to go to the precincts and Benzaiten to visit. Tsuchiya Zeniarai Benzaiten is enshrined here, and there are many red flags standing here. First, I would like to visit Benzaiten enshrined above . There are stairs, and it feels like you are climbing up quite a bit. It has a nice atmosphere! It is a temple, but there is this red torii gate in the grounds, and you can see the shrine. Amazing! Hanging dolls are displayed everywhere in the grounds. It makes me feel very warm and cozy. It feels like they are swaying in the wind and welcoming me. This bell at the Benzaiten Hall ! It seems to have been donated by actor Eiichiro Funakoshi. I wonder if it is his hometown. He is from Hiratsuka!? Tsuchiya Benzaiten, who is revered by such famous people, is enshrined here. Here, “Yappa Uga Benzaiten” is enshrined , who holds a jewel or a sword in each of her eight hands and has “Ugajin”, a human-headed white snake, on her head . I visited the Benzaiten at the top. This area has a nice atmosphere. As for the route, we go down again and there is a cave just below the Benzaiten Hall that we just visited . It seems that you can wash your coins in the cave, so we went down there. The 50-meter-long sacred cave was dug directly under the Benzaiten Hall . It was carved by hand over four generations of priests nearly three or four hundred years ago . It represents the inside of Benzaiten’s body, and you can go inside and wash your coins. It feels like you are moving towards a more sacred place. Following the five-colored string that connects the main hall and Ugajin, we will now enter this cave. It is dark. As expected. Voices echo. Inside the sacred cave, there are many stone Buddha statues, including the statue of Ugajin and Dainichi Nyorai. Ugajin is enshrined. He looks like a snake god, coiled up in layers. This is definitely the god we want to visit this year, the year of the snake. This cave continues all the way to the back, so we went all the way to the back. The ceiling is quite low. It feels like you have to bend down quite a bit to go forward. There are a lot of votive plaques here. There are paths here and there. Let’s go towards the light. I never thought there would be such a cave. It’s so mystical! It’s nice. I wonder if I can get through here… I might have to squat and crawl, but … The hole is smaller than I thought, and I can’t kneel down in my kimono, so I gave up going any further. I hope to come back someday in clothes that I don’t mind getting dirty! I went back to the entrance of the cave and was given a “washing tag” to wash the coins. I put this tag in a colander with the coins I need to wash and finally start washing the coins. There is water here, and I will wash them in this spring. I scoop up the water with a ladle and wash the coins three times while making a wish. I spend the money washed in the sacred water to buy souvenirs for others, and let it circulate in the world. Finally, I was given a goshuin. I had both Benzaiten and Ugasama written on a double page. There is also an ema of Ugasama by Funakoshi Eiichiro that was kept in the cave . I chose my favorite design and there are many stamps for wishes, so it was fun to stamp it as I wanted. I donated the ema to the ema hanging inside the cave. The eight-colored “Tomi-mamori” (Earth Snake Charm) that is named after the eight hands of the eight-armed Uga Benzaiten is given out only on the day of the snake, which occurs once every 60 days . A few days after this video was released, the third Kinshi day of the year will be held. It seems that a lot of people come to worship on Kinshi day. If you are wondering what Kinshi day is, we talked about it in the video we previously delivered about the “Hebi-kubo Shrine,” which is a hot topic this year , so please take a look at that too! How did you like Myoenji Temple in Hiratsuka City? Today, I first met a female parishioner who told me, “Please enjoy every corner of the temple grounds!” And as she said, there were many things to see, but I was able to enjoy worshiping every corner and fully enjoy it. The cave is also home to Uga-sama, and although it has a very mysterious atmosphere, I also felt an atmosphere that warmly welcomes all kinds of people . While I was visiting and filming, many people came to worship one after another and enjoyed washing coins in the cave. Myoenji Temple, located in a peaceful place in Hiratsuka City, seems to have been featured on television and in the media, so it is a temple that only those in the know know about. This was my first time visiting. It was a lot of fun! Thank you very much. I stopped by Gelateria Vega, located along Prefectural Route 63, about a 5-minute drive from Myoenji Temple . This is a specialty store for Italian gelato made with high-quality raw milk produced at “Hamada Farm” in Hiratsuka City . They have a wide selection
of carefully selected gelato made with carefully selected ingredients from within the prefecture, mainly Hiratsuka City ! The recommendation is definitely milk! So, among the premium “Queen’s Milk” and the complimentary strawberry chipping milk with a bite of matcha are as delicious as you would expect! The refreshing taste that makes you feel the freshness, the richness is just right, the sweetness is natural and really delicious! The sun was strong and hot that day, so the cold gelato and iced cafe latte soaked in! I was able to relax on the terrace seat where I could enjoy the tranquil scenery ! Please stop by on your way back from visiting Myoenji Temple!
