Filipino Family Adventures in Australia l Gold Coast + Melbourne with my Big Family

Hi everyone! Come along with us to Australia, where we get to reunite with my side of the family we flew from Auckland 🛫 Brisbane via Jestar flight time was approximately 3H and 55M we had an early morning flight and the view of the sunrise from the plane was stunning 🌞 after nearly 4 hours we arrived safely in Brisbane 🇦🇺 fter picking up our car rental we made a quick stop at South Bank before heading off to the Gold Coast we’re staying in this airbnb for 5 day, Let me show you around 🤗 this airbnb has a stunning view and is located at the heart of surfers paradise this was filmed on the day of our check out btw 😅 it has 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and has a washer and dryer this apartment was perfect for our big family (6 adults 2 teenagers and 2 children) all three bedrooms and the open plan living have very beautiful views I have linked this airbnb property in the description box below 🤗 Day 2 was Movie World Day for all of us except for our senior citizen parents we got to experience the fun of a theme park together – my family, my sisters and their kids. Since moving abroad, I don’t get to see my parents and sisters often, so we make it a point to go on family trips whenever we can. It’s our way of reconnecting and making memories it was so special seeing Sky and her cousins smiling, laughing, and making memories together it’s not everyday that they get to do something like this together so my sisters and I hope that they’ll hold onto the joy of this moment for a long time. 🥰 We explored surfers paradise area afer movie world. This area of the Gold Coast is so vibrant and full of life it’s the perfect mix of fun vacation vibes and a chill beach feel ended the night with Yo-Chi, a very popular frozen yogurt chain in Australia. Unfortunately, the rest of our time in the GC was rainy and too windy 🥲 we started day 3 with brunch at Tarte Beach House it’s a two story spot nearby Currumbin Creek that has a relaxed beach vibes with a little bit of Parisian style all our food came out pretty instagrammable😍 and the bonus part is we got to enjoy it with a sparkling creek views. Our main itinerary for Day 3 was here at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary a wheelchair was necessary for my parents to allow us to explore more freely without worrying about their comfort the sanctuary has a lush rainforest and nature-filled vibe it is home to Australia’s most beloved animals like the koala 🐨 and kangaroos 🦘 if you are visiting don’t miss the Wild Skies Free Flight Bird Show it’s a sweet and simple glimpse of nature that leaves you smiling and amazed the highlight for all the kids and my parents was seeing a kangaroo’s pouch 😳 especially when they spotted tiny joeys tucked inside another highlight for our entire family was feeding the lorikeets🦜 it was a first time for all of us which made the moment extra special ❤️ We had a clear view of the slingshot ride right from our Airbnb, and of course, the teens had to give it a go! we adults were more than happy to cheer them on from solid ground 😂 ended Day 3 with some Gelato 🍦 We didn’t do much on Day 4, just a slow, relaxed day spent with my mom’s sister and her family it was the kind of day that didn’t need an itinerary, just good company, good food, warm conversations, and quality time with loved ones we don’t often get to see Markets are one of the things that we really like to experience whenever we travel we were lucky to be able to catch the HOTA Sunday Market in the Gold Coast the market felt very welcoming, it was filled with friendly faces, colorful stalls, and the scent of fresh, homemade treats in the air made us hungry 🤗 it’s the perfect place to wander slowly, discover unique crafts, and savor cozy moments soaking up the lively, local vibe. We had a quick stop over at Burleigh Heads Beach and I wish we stayed longer 🥲 Welcome to the Farm at Byron Bay 🥰 our trip happened to fall on Mother’s Day, which made it even more special I got to celebrate it with my mom and sisters, all together in one place and The Farm at Byron Bay was the perfect place to celebrate a special day The farm has a peaceful, slow paced vibe. Open fields, friendly animals, a cute little playground where kids’ laughter mixes with the sounds of birds and fresh air the scent of fresh bread and pastries from the bakery, and a charming little lifestyle store where you can find small treasures to take home and flowers from the sweetest little florist tucked in the corner it’s a place where every corner invites you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with nature, family, and the simple joys of life. We also checked out Byron Bay lighthouse, said to be one of Australia’s most iconic spot standing at the lighthouse it was so beautiful to see an endless stretch of sea it was an hour drive back to the Gold Coast, so we fueled up with gelato 🍦 back at the Gold Coast, you can tell that we’re addicted to Yo-Chi 😅 Gold Coast 🛫 Melbourne Day 6 was a travel day for us, we had an early afternoon flight which was delayed so by the time we landed in Melbourne it was already dark 🥲 after picking up our rental van, we had 40 minutes of drive to the CBD where our airbnb is incase you’re interested, I will link this airbnb listing as well as my Klook Code for the van rental in the description box below this airbnb is located in SouthBank and offers stunning view of Melbourne’s skyline 😍 there’s 3 spacious bedrooms, all with really good view of the city 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets which is amazing fully functioning kitchen with a lot of kitchenware and basic pantry essentials this particular room has an ensuite btw that I mistakenly have not filmed, sorry! a fully functioning washer and dryer the view is 😍😍😍 half of our group decided to have a very late dinner and dessert 🤗 and Sky really wanted to let her cousin try our favorite bingsu avalanche at Homm We seriously loved the city view from our airbnb, waking up to it every morning was such a treat One of my sister and our parents had the 12 Apostles high on their must-see list so today’s all about a road trip to make that happen! it’s quite far from Melbourne CBD so we made a lot of stops since we have 2 seniors and 2 children after what felt like forever and plenty of winding roads, we finally made it to the 12 Apostles seeing the giant limestone stacks rising from the ocean made me feel small in the best way on the way back to the city, the sunset lit up the landscape and made the whole drive feel a little more special we grabbed dinner in Geelong and decided to ride the ferris wheel just for fun it was so simple but it ended up being one of the most memorable and heartwarming moments of our trip Brighton Bathing Boxes is an iconic Melbourne must see so as typical tourist we all had to come and see it🤗 for a big group like ours, eating at markets or food courts is so much easier and stress-free everyone gets to choose exactly what they want, without worrying if it’ll work for the whole group and South Melbourne Market was the perfect place for that after South Melbourne Market, we each took a little time to wander on our own through Fitzroy this cozy, artsy neighborhood had something for everyone in our big group from cute vintage shops and cozy cafés to colorful street art and little bookstores Fitzroy had a bit of everything. After returning our rental car, my husband and I snuck in a little alone time and treated ourselves to a cozy Korean meal (one of our favorite cuisines) we also tried a new souffle pancake place we originally wanted to have Kumo since we really loved it from our last Melbourne trip but thought we should try something else since we’ve tried Kumo before but after tasting fresh air pancake, Kumo definitely is better , imo 🤗 Melbourne’s skyline felt like a treat for us, coming from a small town like Rotorua we’re not used to views like this. It was such a nice change to soak in the city lights and tall buildings we catched the flame or fires show whilst strolling at Southbanks’ riverside it was warm, a little dramatic, and feels like a good way to end the night by the water. Today we fly back to NZ, we leave a day early than my family who flies back to Cebu 🇵🇭 since we have returned our rental car we made the most of the free trams and spent the day exploring the CBD we mainly focused on the typical things tourist do in the city, we ate at
Queen Victoria Market, explored the laneways and eating at iconic Melbourne spots. I didn’t film much on our last day. I just wanted to be present and soak up every moment with my family. We never really know when we’ll all be together again 🥹 with a little ache in my heart, we made our way back to NZ. It was a short trip, but full of warm memories with my family and I already miss them so much. as always, Thank you so much for watching and please consider subscribing to my channel, it would mean a lot to me 🥰 ❤️ April instagram @everydayapril_nz
