観光地よりお得?!半額で楽しめる東京グルメ街「戸越銀座」 Ep.580
[Music] hey guys today we are in Tokoshi Station it’s located in south part of Tokyo tokyo station is over here shinjuku station is over here reno is over here and Roongi is around here however Togoshi station is all the way down to the south there was a request in the comment section that people want to see the local part of Tokyo so that’s why we are here today in this Toshi station there is a nice long arcade but it is not that popular for travelers but it is very popular for locals so today we will explore there and we will find a nice food over there the south part of Tokyo area it’s more like living area so compared to Asaka we know those areas the atmosphere is a bit different so firstly let’s explore the Togoshi Ginsa Ginsa arcade by the way arcade in Japanese calledai look at this street it’s up and down interesting and here we go finally It is a classic station huh so this is the Asaka line A3 exit of Togoshi station if you are coming from Asaka area it takes about 30 minutes from Asaka station to this Tosshi station in the one line you can get here so it’s not that complicated so after you get out from the station Togoshi Ginsa entrance is just over there and also the other side as well compared to Asaka and internationally popular area of Tokyo the town’s atmosphere is different it is a popular spot for locals though oh interesting it is a British bakery seems like they have a nice bread let’s pick one they have so many different kinds of bread and all looks pretty good this is the first shop that I visit so I’m wondering what to get one this curry franle looks pretty good and sounds interesting so why not let’s get this price is 259 Japanese yang let’s do it all right so let’s go oh my goodness looks pretty good nice smell of the curry so So good it is very soft nice flavor of curry perfectly matches with the sausage loving it a little bit mustard flavor with curry flavor yeah nice combination compared to the popular area of Tokyo there are more elder people living around here there are one of the grandma in the shops and she tried to get out from the store but she forgot to push the button for the you know automatic door opening but it was the glasses so she didn’t realize and she hit the forehead everyone was worried oh she was totally okay and she was laughing but you know this kind of warm atmosphere I felt like you know totally local part of Tokyo so yeah this area already I recommend anyways let’s keep eating and keep exploring cute alpacar there is a different station over there tooi Ginsa station he’s over here too yeah we found it in Tokyo station as well hello hello interesting so we are over here firstly we will explore this Togoshi Ginsa station area and after that we will go to the other side there is a nice shrine as well and onsen so we will get there later let’s keep walking oh there’s a coin locker but this one only cost 100 Japanese yen for 12 hours oh compared to Tokyo station much much cheaper yep local park there are vending machine too but not that many differences stuff around this station area there are many popular chain food restaurants there are so many kids around here too if you are coming from main part of Tokyo probably Asaka line would be easier to access over here but this is the other station Iikami line compared to Tokyo Metro it is a small line but many people using this ikigami line too still many stations in Japan looks like this if you go to the countryside most of the station looks like this and it seems like train just arrived there are only three cars but for those areas it is enough though if you go to the countryside there are the train even had the two cars only too oh look at that uh they have a Hokkaido melon with mascal pony i’m not sure how to say it in English but uh it looks interesting and the price is only 205 Japanese yen why not let’s do it seems like it’s a nice Japanese sweet shop and this must be the one looks yummy so this must be the one outside oh they have so many different kinds and hold on look at this blueberry one looks better i want to try this let’s do it this one is also the seasonal one they have so many different kinds of sweets as well and also the dango this malarashi only cost 178 Japanese yen huh looks pretty good they also have the ice creams as well all right let’s go oh my goodness looks pretty good well I don’t think I can eat with one bite so probably I need to squash it yeah this way it’s much easier to eat is really soft and fluffy and also sweet but blueberry belly sourness perfectly matches with this sweets loving it i think only the pancake itself it’s machoi but with this whipped cream and the fruits even better you know because of the inflation especially in the travel spot every places it gets more expensive however if you visit the local part of Japan still there are many places keeping the price as a local price so yeah this is one of the good deal thing all right so let’s keep walking and eating oh interesting it is a local pet goods shop they are not selling the pet but there are so many items over there oh really they have a tonkat sandwich only 300 Japanese yen that’s good deal well but it sounds like makes me full with the one sandwich so maybe we can try it next time by the way hey guys welcome back to Res TV i’m Ryan please don’t forget to check my Instagram too all right so let’s keep walking it is a supermarket ozaki local supermarket popular one though it is the okonomyaki and the teanyaki seems like very classic restaurants even there are so many local restaurants but we have this satan too yes legendary satan you know those kind of thing i think because of the population most of the chain restaurants over here yeah that sounds like Tokyo if it’s in Osaka oh by the way I was born and raised in Osaka yes if it’s in Osaka my hometown there are many restaurants in the local part like this place but uh there are only several chain food restaurants so yeah that’s a difference between Tokyo and Osaka that’s how I feel and we are already almost end of the Tokoshi Ginsa Arcade so let’s go back and let’s try the other side by the way it was raining this morning and it will be rainy day tomorrow it is a rainy season in Japan so you know the rainy days must be however compared to the regular year it’s much better though speaking of today’s weather 29° window 3 m/s 70% humidity sunset time is 7:00 p.m because it was raining yes it is very humid well hopefully it will not start raining today though oh bad timing but it’s okay yep this orcade continues all the way down oh already seems like there are so many people in the train there was a guy just over here because the crossing gate was closed he couldn’t catch up that train and that was he was talking you know after this crossing gate is closed there is no way to go to the other side so well no matter how hard you are you have to miss the train and yeah it must be like torturing how sad but it’s shogun i know we came back to that to station area there are so many bicycle you know many elder people in the street many bicycle parking on the side street yes that means we’re at local part of Japan seems like this area compared to the other side not that many restaurants oh that’s a recycle shop that’s a character merch shop they have cute aprons also the bookstore recently there are not that many bookstores in Japan most of the bookstores are closed so only the big one left but still local part of Tokyo there are small bookstores too oh my goodness that’s interesting they have a tab alien eat curry 500 Japanese yen they place a rice and a curry in the one cup that sounds good i want to try that but it seems like it’s closed now they are restarting from 6:00 p.m so maybe next time we can try it is a local kanoten hardware store they have so many different kinds of stuffs very you know the classic style interesting oh it is the onigiri rice bowl restaurants oh my goodness this oniiri looks so good it’s a grounded beef with egg yolk they have a English menu available i’m wondering if we can make it to go or we can eat it in here even it’s one oni let me ask so we can order here oh yeah this must be one so here’s my seat looks like sushi bar loving it there is a cold tea and a hot tea we can choose and also you know me teacup there’s a soy sauce and a steamy pepper very nice atmosphere loving it sweet this onigiri restaurant is a popular restaurant if you come over here on the weekend usually there are people waiting outside too but if you come over here on the weekday you don’t have to wait so if you visit Aratis area definitely I recommend you to visit on the weekday all right here we go actually it is huge it’s much bigger than what I thought oh my goodness yummy wow there are so many meats and awesome egg inside it i just wanted to show you how it looks like inside but you know it’s fluffy so already a little bit broken so let’s eat [Music] nice flavor granted meat perfectly matches with the egg yolk also the rice bowl it’s very fluffy loving it it’s literally double size compared to the conveni so you heard the price it’s a little bit expensive but I’ve Yeah I could see the size now I understand it it is very healthy well don’t get me wrong i love conveni on too however yeah it’s just a you know different thing yeah [Music] well if you are visiting here and try to order the different kind of oniri because you want to try many different kinds of taste but you have to be careful it is much bigger than the regular oniri so you might not be able to finish that [Music] oh that was pretty good uh if this restaurant was closer to my house I will use it more and more though already get so full all right so let’s keep walking oh that’s a local veggie store plus 1,000 Japanese haircut oh wait it seems like they increased the price to 1,200 Japanese yen i guess recently they increased the price though another fruit shop and also the drugstore oh interesting kamabokco shop which is the fish cake oh they have a den to go they have a each place for the different kinds of items usually we eat in the winter time but uh they have it in the summertime too interesting they have so many different kinds why not let’s try sweet so this is beef tendon and this is a deep fried mushroom [Music] m even it’s deep tender stewed for a long time so it’s very soft and also if we place the karashi mustard even it’s better with dashi perfect also that’s a deep fried mushroom it’s my first time to try interesting [Music] it’s but it’s very hard at they used to sell the oden at combini but recently they stopped selling it so this winter I didn’t eat oden but finally I could eat lanet [Music] Yes it is very traditional and a popular Japanese winter food basically inside it’s a fish cakes and meat also some veggies yeah they have a set menu items with beer three oden plus beer 800 Japanese yen five oden 1,000 with beer must be pretty good they also have the foods to go deep fried one and there is a flower shop too all right so let’s keep walking 24 hours gym over here must be convenient especially for this apartment still arcade continues but it becomes more residential area oh seems like Yep it becomes 5:00 p.m [Music] you know it’s kind of popular to play the music and the specific time especially in the residential area and uh that’s for the 5:00 melody atmosphere of this area with the music so [Music] The place where I grew up there was also playing the music in the specific time so that the kids can know the time and it reminds the kids to go home yeah so that’s part of the community thing very popular in Japan so for small kids it’s time to go home so now we are heading to Togoshi Yasaka Shrine there is a small park beside the arcade it’s just one street away still there are many classic houses even there are many old houses but those areas the grants and the house price are pretty expensive though because it’s a Shinagawa Shinagawa word it’s close to Shinagawa station Tokyo station Hanada airport too very convenient area oh interesting what kind of flower it is it looks like trumpet so the shrine must be over there oh so it must be over here really even in the shrine we can find this orange juice vending machine and the price is 350 Japanese yen wow that sounds like Tokyo actually it is a very nice shrine oh the entrance was over there so let’s walk from the entrance so here we go it is the Tokoshi Asaka Shrine it’s a quiet local spot just steps from Toshi Ginsa dedicated to Susanu Mikoto it’s a place where locals praise for protection and good luck it is a peaceful stop with a traditional charm in the middle of the city the name of Yasaka comes from the famous Yasaka shrine in Kyoto and the shrine with this name are often dedicated to Susana Mikoto the god of storm and protection probably you have heard so many different kinds of Yasaka shrine yes it is coming from that there is a place to wash hands too oh you know what i just realized it’s automatically turn on and off so if we get closer it will turn on and the water comes out from there interesting and here we go the orange vending machine price is 350 Japanese yen so compared to other places it’s more reasonable since it’s much cheaper compared to the other places let’s get one we comp it with over here with the QR code oh yeah it’s working so the orange comes from there wait is it already starting i don’t see the orange is moving though oh yeah yeah over there so they are picking up the orange orange is bouncing and yeah that’s my orange i love this vending machine okay here we go we got it 100% orange juice stroll over here there is a place to drink oh they must have some event sometimes so that’s why there are tables but now it becomes the open space well there are so many mosquitoes i should have brought the anti mosquito spray yep the season has came oh my Doesn’t feel like I’m in Tokyo now such a nice place well one amazing thing it is not from the main part of Tokyo yeah no wonder this area is popular for the families by the way orange juice it’s not and I believe it’s healthier too because it’s just made from the fresh oranges let me show you around so there is a stage i believe they just had the festival or something that’s the street where we came from and also that’s a place washing hand main shrine is over there we will get there soon probably that was for throwing the hoop yeah the hoop over there there is a kids toy too oh also there is a book rental plus small darts interesting oh my goodness already so many mosquito bites yep show it though summer is coming and that’s the main shrine oh nice atmosphere there are Emma which is a people’s wishes and the main building with nice atmosphere there’s a dragons and a mangu Japan maybe some people are wondering what this is so this is chinoa it is one of the popular tradition in Japan so this chinoakuri is a traditional shin ritual where people walk through a large ring made of grass called chinoa so this is the chinoa it’s performed to cleanse misfortune and the prey for good health especially during the summer the custom date back over a thousand years and still practiced today at many shrine across Japan yep we got to go otherwise my leg will be the mosquito’s big dinner now we are heading to the Pum Konamorei there’s a nice big park over there so this must be the place huh very nice playground for kids this looks like a regular park right nope we are at Ashinagawa region so yes the Tokyo Spark there is a free Wi-Fi wow interesting well I’m not sure in your country but compared to the Osaka where I grew up definitely I don’t had the free Wi-Fi in the park well it’s back in the days so maybe they have it now probably not interesting oh but maybe because this is a booni so that’s why they have it probably not in the regular park I believe ah hydranger is almost gone yep rainy season is almost over and the summer season is coming it is the public elementary school nothing different compared to Osaka there are three basic greeting ohio meaning good morning arato meaning thank you and goai meaning sorry and there’s another park next to elementary school it looks a bit different compared to the regular park though interesting please do not let your dog across this gate and this area yep this is the gate for adults not for duck and there is a big square in front of it here too meaning please do not let your dog enter this area neither playing soccer and the baseball oh there is a horizontal bar tub tub it’s much bigger than the regular one though oh I assume this place must be something some nice fancy house was here I guess oh so according to the internet this toi park was once the garden of the feudal lord’s residence in the Edo period this place used to be belonged to the Hosokawa family lord of the Kumamoto domain but now it becomes the public park no wonder there is a huge kofish over there also there is so many turtle too when I come closer they come to my place probably there are people feeding them so that’s why oh my goodness i don’t have anything but so many turtles comes to this side interesting there was a guy told me about the story of turtle so actually there were no turtles around here but in the festival there was a turtle fishing and everyone whoever couldn’t buy the turtle they just leave it over here and eventually the turtle gets glowed and it becomes like that that’s what he told me i’m not sure if it’s true or not but it is interesting story also in the park nice garden continues very peaceful place now we are walking toward to Shimoshim station area oh no shinkans is over there yes Shinagawa station is closer so that’s why there’s a Shinkansen so that must be the Shimoshim station there are more people in this street there it becomes the very complicated area this place feels like maze and finally we hung the entrance of the station so this is Shimoshim station’s entrance we are walking one more station huge octopus over there and next to it there’s a small octopus too there are so many families and the kids all over the places yep residential area oh I just realized that’s a helicopter running space huh well sounds like Tokyo now we arrived to Shinagawa Central Park so that means we are almost at Oachi station ah that’s a huge hydrangeanger oh yeah now we are closer to the Oimach station so that’s why there are more and more tall buildings over here this OA station area station is one of the big and the popular station in south part of Tokyo there is a main line over there too so compared to the that area we were it is totally different atmosphere they are building something new over there too yes so many new buildings in Tokyo oh the billard and dirtsiz which is a popular drinking isakaya also shabu shabu onai yep there are so many curry mans around this area so more drinking place it is Ittoyokad big supermarket and also the shopping mall oh interesting it says Kujira store the whale store seems like they are selling the meat of whale oh interesting uh but maybe next time though station is almost there yep the population is different oh I see so this is the another entrance of Oachi station so that’s why there are so many people over here too no wonder let’s go check up around Oachi station too there is a huge Yamada lobby big electric store over there also there’s a small aisle probably it’s a drinking spot oh interesting huh small nice drinking street still not that many people because time is early but when it becomes nighttime there must be so many people around here huh tachinomi standing and drinking bar already there are customers inside and the sushi how about the price 25,500 not bad what else we have oh actually it continues all the way down beer and ste something around this area there are many tall apartment too yes station is a hub station so it’s much convenient compared to Toshi area it’s just a different area there are more simmons and also yep big pachenko store too for people who want to raise the kids maybe that tooshi area is more convenient place but for people who want to work probably this oachi area is more easier place to live rent is more expensive in this area though it’s almost 7:00 p.m but when it becomes more darker and darker there will be more and more people drinking around this area and here we go yes that’s the other entrance of Oachi station yep big Deni and in front of it there are many gacha let me see usually I don’t see much but here there are so many shinang Korean shinang which is a popular anime in Japan gap over here this one and this one as well maybe they are making collab or something there are the Mumins one plus Toy Stories and the Disney one too though yeah those area too there are so many Korean Shin Chang one so if you love Shin Chan maybe you can try this Kachapon over here at Oachi oh seems like it becomes 700 p.m so that’s why there are the chimes [Music] it’s a amazing grace nice one [Applause] oh maybe from that one over there let’s see is it really ringing from there wow we got run quick oh yeah actually it’s ringing by this bell sweet it’s right front of station there is a huge ch over here [Music] nice and yep this is kind of main entrance of Oachi station there is a at which is one of the big shopping mall in Japan there are so many people using oati station also there is a rinka line over here this rinkai line is very convenient from OA station they goes to the Oda area which is the Tokyo but also going to Shibuya Shinjuku Iikuro Akap all the way down to Kawag speaking of the price it’s a bit expensive compared to the regular train but uh yes it is a very convenient train all right so let’s go back to the back street all right came to the back street hope Nice relaxing and calming video, I needed it. Good place to visit, thank you for your video.
Hi Rion! Please keep making videos like this. It gives your viewers a broader perspective of Japan. If you can, please visit Katsushika area too. Hope you get to feature more places there as we’ve only been to Koiwa and Kinshicho. Thanks! Gaooo!
What a nice neighborhood 💜
More local places…….. enjoying it…Thank you.!!!
Compare to kamata .. this location feels nicer ..
Nice one rion~ keep it up! My family and I will be travel to Tokyo and Toyama end of this year. If you could show us Toyama before us that will be great haha..
So happy & surprised the walk ended up in Oimachi. It’s a place I go to often whenever I visit Tokyo & stay at my fren’s place in the nearby neighbourhood 👍
とても興味深いですね。ありがとうございました
Where are you going tomorrow?
Hi Rion, good video, just one point I noticed is the shrine is a hachiman(八幡) shrine instead of a yasaka (八坂)shrine 😅
Love the local town exploration… Please show us more. Thank you
Can you go to Fukuoka and Sendai? We're going there and it would be helpful to see things from your exploration viewpoint.
Oh that music is lovely!
Thank you for explaining the chinowa. I was wondering about it. One day can you explain the entire ritual? I see from the sign that you go one way and then the other?
Your hair looks good any way you have it. Long or short is fine, whichever makes you happy.
I am AMAZED you kept your white shirt so clean even after eating the food! Even the mushroom that squirted everywhere! I hope that didn't burn you too badly, and I hope your mosquito bites didn't itch for too long. Thank you for this fun video, I really enjoyed it.
Nice haircut! Love this video of local town. Very nice atmosphere, it's relaxed and something different from the common places in Tokyo. Really like the idea of music by the hour. I wish we have it in our country too.
Rion, local places, loving it!!! So many youtube videos and youtubers showing the same places in Tokyo. This is great for first timers but not for second, third, etc. visits. I just love walking around exploring the less touristy areas that have less tourists/more locals. Togoshi Ginza is on my list and looking forward to more videos of local neighbourhoods.
You always have a good balance of practical travel information and virtual travel. 😊 If you visit this area again, please consider bringing food for the turtles. 😊
Thanks Rion! Very refeeshing to see other parts of tokyo! Keep it up! Just keep walking!
I alway like the video. btw can you go to rural area the people dont know much about
Thanks for the walk! Loved that area! I'll be sure to check it out next time I travel to Japan! That tree is called Brugmansia aka Angel's Trumpets, we have it in our backyard. Smells lovely and sweet in the late hours of a nice summer day (Very toxic for animals and humans, so no eating!)
yesss more local videos pls rion!!❤❤
