ミニベロで細切れ日本一周の旅 倉敷→竹原市
This is a continuation of my trip around Japan in pieces. I took my bike on the Shinkansen from Kurashiki Station Tokyo . My bike is Caracle-S. It’s the first half of Golden Week , which is the best season for a bike trip. This time, I’m heading west again . How far can I go? This is the progress of my trip so far . There’s still a long way to go. I cross the Takahashi River. There was a bridge for pedestrians and motorcycles . It’s comfortable! It’s nice to see the tourist spots, but it’s also fun to ride while looking at the normal cityscape. Around here, elementary school students said hello to me. It’s something I’ve never experienced in the Kanto region. It made me feel warm and cozy. I entered Kasaoka City. There is a breeding ground for horseshoe crabs around here. I entered Fukuyama City. It’s almost time for dinner. I was drawn to a ramen shop again. Miso butter ramen! Ramen after a bike ride is the best! I went to the hotel I booked on Agoda. Candeo Hotels Fukuyama. There is a large bath and sauna, too, and it cost 5,491 yen. Curls and beer after the bath! Distance traveled on this day: 47.9km Travel time: 3:41 The next day was a fine day Well, let’s go for a ride today! The Carale-S shifts smoothly and is in good condition I head to Fukuyama Castle There is a castle near Fukuyama Station The Castle was built in 1615 and is the newest castle in the early modern period. It was spared from demolition under the Meiji era castle abolition order: The castle tower was completely burned down in air raids during the Pacific War I really want to see the original castle from the Edo period It’s a shame that so many castles were burned down in air raids Wars are still going on in various parts of the world, but I really hope that peace will come soon Next, I’m heading for Onomichi It’s about 19km from Fukuyama to Onomichi There are no mountain passes around here, so it’s an easy ride I can see the Onomichi Ohashi Bridge and the Shin-Onomichi Ohashi Bridge It seems that bicycles can also cross the Onomichi Ohashi Bridge, but the road is narrow so it is recommended to cross by boat I have entered the city of Onomichi I will park my bike here and do some sightseeing I will try the Mt. Senkoji Ropeway Going up above the shrines and temples A modern observation deck A view that is typical of the Seto Inland Sea Setouchi lemon flavored soft serve ice cream I will go sightseeing while going down the slope Senkoji Temple I it was quite hard to climb up I came down Since I’ve come to Onomichi, of course I will eat Onomichi ramen It was as expected, delicious ramen! Arrived in front of Onomichi station From here you can take a boat to the Shimanami Kaido It’s been more than two years since I drove on the Shimanami Kaido… It seems like time passes faster as you get older Next I’m heading to Hiroshima It’s 80km from Onomichi to Hiroshima, so there’s no way I can get there today There are no big towns on the way, so I got anxious because I couldn’t find a hotel I searched desperately and found a nice hot spring inn I don’t like to make plans so I always book a hotel on the day, but finding a hotel during Golden Week is really like walking a tightrope Heading to Yusaka Onsen Arrived at Yusaka Onsenkyo The hotel seems to be here It has a pretty nice atmosphere Yusaka Onsenkyo Kamogawaso So 6,240 yen is cheap Of course there is a large public bath and we could compare sake for free Ginjo sake, it’s delicious Can’t have dinner without a reservation, so I ate convenience store food Distance traveled for this day was 70.5km Travel time 8:50 Elevation gain 451m The journey continues Thank you for watching!
