The First Resort in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Project | Six Senses Southern Dunes (4K Tour)
Today we will be staying at Six Senses Southern Dunes, the first resort in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Project. Wadi suite. Main pool. Resort facilities such as spa. Dinner buffet. Night event. Breakfast buffet. Please enjoy. The resort is located in the Khuff dunes, on the outskirts of Umluj, Saudi Arabia. It takes an hour by car to get to the resort from Red Sea International Airport. Saudi Arabia is currently working on an initiative called “Vision 2030” to promote economic diversification. Within Vision 2030, there is the Red Sea Project. This is a tourism mega project in the Red Sea area on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. The Red Sea Project is scheduled to build 50 hotels with 8,000 rooms and over 1,000 residential properties by 2030. Several resorts have already opened on the Red Sea and inland. The first is the Six Senses Southern Dunes (opened November 2023). The second is the St. Regis Red Sea Resort (opened January 2024). The third is Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve (opened in May 2024). The fourth is Shebala Resort (opened in November 2024). The fifth is Desert Rock Resort (opened in December 2024). This YouTube channel has been focusing on the Red Sea Project and has been uploading videos of resort stays. This time, we are going to the first resort in the Red Sea Project, so I am looking forward to it. Go through the gate and enter. We arrived in front of the main area of the resort. There are buggies for moving around the resort. This main area is named “Oasis”. To avoid the sun, the top is covered with a petal-shaped sunshade. If we go to the right, we will find the reception and Bariya main restaurant. If we go to the left, we will find the gym and spa. Let’s go to the right first. This is the reception. However, check-in was done in a different place. Portraits of the three Saudi Arabian royals. Saudi Arabia flag. Infused water and dates are placed. This is a resort branded as Six Senses. Six Senses is a natural luxury resort brand that started in Soneva Fushi, Maldives in 1995. This resort was built with environmental considerations in mind and was the first in Saudi Arabia to receive LEED Platinum certification. Let’s go next to the reception. Next to it are three conference rooms. They can be used for various purposes, such as meetings and private meals. Next to it is the main restaurant, Bariya. Buffets and a la carte international cuisine are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To the center of the oasis. Drums with the words “Six Senses” written on them. They will be used at events. A place with a soothing sound of water. There are various facilities in the main area “Oasis” where we are now. This is an area where we can experience Saudi Arabian culture and other things, and is named Artisan Village. The first pod. Ethnic costumes and other items are placed here. An experience is offered where you can learn the traditional craft of Sadu Weaving. The second pod. We can play billiards here. The third pod. Sports equipment is available. Sandboards and table tennis rackets. We can enjoy stargazing at night with a telescope. The fourth pod. We can eat 12 kinds of ice cream for free. Saudi coffee flavored ice cream is a distinctive feature. Cones for ice cream, toppings, dried fruits, etc. These are well done pictures. Next, we will go to the community lounge. I’ll be having a welcome drink and more in this community lounge. Here we can play board games and read books. I sit on the sofa and enjoy a welcome drink. Welcome drink. I forgot what the drink was, but it had a refreshing taste. Cookies, almonds, dried fruits, etc. Welcome fruit. There are a lot of varieties. There is a boutique next door. It mainly sells clothes and accessories. There were no resort original goods. Next door is Earth Lab. Earth Lab is a standard facility in all Six Senses brand hotels & resorts. Here, the resort’s sustainability initiatives are introduced. Recycled paper made from waste paper. Soap made from waste oil. The gym and prayer room are also in the main area. Let’s take a look at the gym. It is open 24 hours a day. Technogym’s latest machines are installed. From the aerobic exercise machines by the window, we can see the sand dunes and greenery. Balance balls and mats, etc. Next to it is the studio. The gym and studio are spacious enough. I think you can exercise and train comfortably. Headphones and towels. Nuts and dates. Infused water. Activity calendar. Yoga and meditation, etc. Separate prayer rooms for men and women. It doesn’t look very spacious. Outside, there is a parking space. Let’s go back to the Oasis. There is a restaurant and bar called Merkaz. Here we can enjoy light meals and drinks during the day and themed dinners in the evening. The menu for detox water and kombucha is written on the board. There is also a cooking school and a space for private dinners. There are tables not only indoors but also outdoors. Various plants are grown in the Oasis. There was nothing around here, just sand dunes, but the greenery gives it a nice atmosphere. Let’s take a look at the view. We can see the soft sand dunes and undulating rocky mountains. There is almost nothing around the resort . Let’s move from the main area “Oasis” to today’s room. The resort has 36 rooms and suites, and 40 pool villas. This is the area where the 36 rooms and suites are located, and the villas are in another area. It feels like an apartment, and each room and suite is located here. The card key has a local design. The room category is Wadi Suite, and it costs 3,920 SAR (1,045 USD) per night. The room number is 110. There is a hedgehog. I struggled for about 10 minutes to get into the room. Where do I hold the card key? The place where I hold the card key was the radio wave mark. However, the connection was quite poor. Finally, I was able to enter the room. The suite is 90 square meters (969 square feet), 1.5 times the size of a regular room. The interior is reminiscent of the traditions of the semi-nomadic Bedouin people who travel through the desert. There is a semi-outdoor terrace. The suite is large enough for an overnight stay. Let’s start with the minibar. Above there are QR codes with instructions on how to use the coffee machine and the in-room dining menu. A coffee machine from Italian brand De’Longhi. A bottle opener, etc. A Chinese brand electric kettle. An ice bucket, cookies. Coffee cups. A glass bottle with the Six Senses logo. Coffee from Italian brand illy. Tea from UAE brand Tchaba. Mugs and tableware from the Indonesian brand Kevala. Coasters. Glasses with glittery designs. Homemade chocolate bar. Homemade energy bar. All drinks in the fridge are non-alcoholic. Homemade cold latte. Homemade cold brew. The floor is wooden, and the living room has Arabic-style mats. The cushion covers are also Arabic-style. This chair has a strange design. There is an arabic magazine on the table. There are welcome fruits in the suite. Four types of dates. Enjoy eating and comparing them. Cool cutlery. Four types of welcome sweets. We can watch resort information on the Korean brand SAMSUNG TV. A table game. A book to learn about Saudi coffee. A book about bathing cultures around the world. A book about desert adventures. A ceiling fan. Since it’s a new resort, the lighting is touch-screen. A dining table. There is also a kitchen. Boiling water, carbonated water, and cold water. A Zip HydroTap water dispenser is used. There is a desk behind the bed. Mirror with LED lighting. Letter set. A resort original pencil. Power outlets, USB ports. Desk light with a petal motif. A bluetooth speaker from American brand Klipsch. Above the bed… Arabian-style canopy. The canopy above the bed creates a nice atmosphere. A sign requesting a change of bed linen. Six Senses Resort is particular about sleep and uses handmade mattresses. Resort original ballpoint pen and memo paper. The resort does not use plastic, and water is in glass bottles. The bedside table is equipped with power outlets and USB ports. The lights and curtains here are also touch-screen switches. The resort provides sleep programs and a variety of pillows. There is also a TV in the bedroom. Let’s go out to the semi-outdoor terrace from the bedroom. There is a swing bed where we can relax. We can also rock the bed and enjoy it. There are also sunbeds. Smoking is allowed here. There is no pool here, but there are laundry baskets. Let’s take a look at the view from the terrace. We can see the rugged mountains, but I don’t think it’s a good view. I feel that the fact that it is so easy to access the terrace of the next room is a structural problem. Let’s take a look at the bathroom. The sink is a twin sink with a unique pattern. Liquid soap and body lotion. A hairdryer from the German brand Aliseo. Amenities. Six Senses original packaging. A large bathtub. Loofah sponge, bath salts. A chick figurine. It seems to be just for decoration. A bathrobe. A separate shower booth. There are two rain showers. The shower is from the Italian brand Gessi. I have the impression that Gessi showers have weak water pressure, which makes me uneasy. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are in original bottles. Toilet. A toilet from the Swiss brand Geberit. A remote control for the water bidet. Sanitary bags. Walk-in wardrobe. Large. Hangers, iron, and ironing board. Laundry list. Aloe vera gel. Disinfectant. Insect repellent. Safety box. Laundry bag. Mosquito coils. Hand-woven carpet. Hand-made indoor slippers. Very thin. The layout is easy to use. There is a toilet near the entrance. It is a nice room close to the main area. Overall view of the resort. This is where we are now. The villas are lined up in a row a little further away. 40 villas are lined up in two rows in the desert (sand dunes). The main pool and dinner restaurant are in between. Let’s move to the area where the villas are located. We can rent bicycles for free. To the villa area. There are 40 villas from room 301 to room 340. The villas are priced a little higher (from 7,000 SAR / 1,850 USD per night). All villas have private pools. The villas are located near the main pool and dinner restaurant. Let’s go to the main pool. Before that, there is a Tarzan Ladder. It seems that we can train using the ladder here. There is only a ladder here, and it seems that almost no one uses it. It seems that they built a restaurant and a pool on a sand dune where there is almost nothing. It is called the Pool Bar & Grill. It has an interesting appearance. The Pool Bar & Grill is open from 1pm to 9pm. Non-alcoholic drinks and grilled dishes are available. To the pool area. 32 sunbeds. 7 cabanas. We can get a good view from the cabana sunbeds. The pool is surprisingly large. The water is 0.15m deep at the shallowest point. The water is 1.1m to 1.4m deep at the deepest point. The pool is designed to be enjoyed by both children and adults. It is a pool that feels like a desert oasis. We can see the villas from the edge of the pool. This kind of pool is rare in a place with nothing around, such as sand dunes and mountains. Near the pool is a dinner restaurant called Al Sarab. It is open every Thursday to Monday from 6pm to 10:30pm. This restaurant is located at the highest point in the resort. There are 70 seats in the restaurant and 78 seats in the bar. At the outdoor tables, you can enjoy dinner while looking at the open view. Let’s look at the villas on the other side. The villas are away from the main area and are suitable for those who want to relax in the villa. Depending on the location of the villa, it may be quite far from the main area and inconvenient. The suite I’m staying in is conveniently close to the main area. Let’s take a look at the spa in the main area. The Six Senses Spa is located on the lower floor. The spa facilities are excellent. Inside, there is a reception and a spa boutique. There are plenty of sleep products. Mineral water. Six Senses original yoga mats. Six Senses original bathrobes. They are brightly colored. Salon. Probably a women’s hair and nail salon. There is another salon here. Probably a men’s salon (it could be the other way around). Holistic anti aging center. A mat that combines far infrared and PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) technology for relaxation. The facility has relaxation and fatigue recovery effects. Recommended for those who want to relieve fatigue. Infused water and nuts are available at the entrance to the changing room. Separate changing rooms for men and women. Towels and lockers. Hangers, bathrobe, and bath towel are provided in the lockers. Spa slippers, eye masks, and paper shorts. Stylish slippers. Shower room. Same shower and shampoo as in the guest rooms. Hair dryers and amenities are provided at the sink. There are also relaxation rooms and saunas. This is relaxation room 1. Sit here… We can relax by watching 4K healing ocean images. Let’s go to the back. Three types of saunas and cold bath. Cold bath. Small. Infrared Salt Sauna. 32 to 35 degrees. Finnish sauna. 80 to 90 degrees. Aroma steam room. Experience shower. Hammams are available in other areas. Bar and pool in the spa. Alchemy bar. Workshops are sometimes held here. You can choose from a variety of aromatic herbs, salts, fruits, and spices, and blend them to create your own natural cosmetics. Vitality pool in the spa. Sunbeds. Good atmosphere. A fulfilling spa. Beautiful sunset. Dinner. On this day, I have a dinner buffet at the main restaurant, Bariya. It’s a casual restaurant. I visited in March during Ramadan season, so this was the only restaurant open at night. Let’s take a look at the buffet table. Honey, nuts, etc. Cheeses from around the world. Cheeses from Bulgaria, Switzerland, Cyprus, France, and the UK are available. Delicious looking cheeses. Beetroot Hummus. Bright colors. Various cold meals from around the world. Salad. Hummus. The dinner menu changes daily, focusing on the health and well-being concept of “Eat With Six Senses”. Various healthy foods and drinks. Cold brew, also available in the room. Miracle drink. Berry smoothie, classic latte. Yogurt. Another buffet table. Umm Ali. Colourful fruits. Atayef with Kishta. Rose panna cotta, chocolate cake. Basbousa. Arabic sweets. Nuts and dried fruits. Another buffet table. Egyptian lamb soup. Saloona with chickpeas. Lamb Kofta & Toum Sauce. Lamb Meatball with Shakshuka Sauce. Red Sea Grouper & Dill Olive Oil. Seasonal Vegetable & Halloumi Cheese Kebab. Turkish Pide with Spinach & Feta Cheese. Chicken Samosa. Beef Couscous. Arabic Breads. It comes with dates and dried fruits. I have cheese, cold meals, hot meals, and various other dishes. The fish and meat are large, and I’m full. I also have a drink that looks good for my health. The dessert called Umm Ali is sweet and delicious. An event is held in the night at the Oasis. The candles are placed inside glass bottles made by Earth Lab. It’s beautiful. Drink service. A mixed drink of chamomile, ginger, orange, and honey called Harmony. Red mats are laid out. It seems to be a Ramadan event in March. Meditation took place here. Walking around the resort at night. There is nothing around the resort, so it is quite quiet. Let’s go back to the room. The turndown service is done, and the lights in the room are turned off and the curtains are closed. There are slippers and water by the bed. The turndown service was done without any problems. We go to the terrace. We can’t see the view at night. Let’s check the amenities. Because it is a natural luxury resort, amenities made from environmentally friendly materials are used. Most basic amenities are available. I dropped bath salts into the bathtub. The water pressure of the Gessi hand shower was disappointing. The rain shower was a little better. I had a drink from the refrigerator. The resort is located in an inconvenient place, but the Wi-Fi is unexpectedly fast. On to the next morning. Good morning. There are birds here and there. The breakfast buffet is at the same restaurant as the previous day. It seems there are tables outside, so let’s go there. There is a Bedouin tent outside. There is also an experience where you can enjoy Saudi coffee here. It is a place with a calm atmosphere. We can eat while looking at the open view. Let’s take a look at the breakfast buffet. You can make your own protein drinks. Detox water. A drink called “Rocket Fuel” that is famous at Six Senses. Various ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices. Kombucha. Mixed juice. Today’s special drink is rose latte. Various herbs. You can make various drinks yourself. Recommended for health-conscious people. Let’s take a look at the buffet table. Mixed juice that looks good for our body. Pistachio smoothie, classic latte. Yogurt. Muesli. Granola bowl. Various honey. Delicious honey. Various seeds. Various cheeses. Nuts etc. Various spices. Various dates. Various granola. A buffet that shows attention to detail. Three types of milk. Fresh fruits. Olives and hummus. Another buffet stand. Various breads. Butter. Ramazan Pidesi. Turkish bread. Jam, butter. Cakes and pastries. There’s a lot. Mini croissants. Another buffet stand. Today’s special “bread omelette”. Egg dishes can be ordered at the live station. I got a variety of fruits and drinks. I ordered a bread omelette. Bread omelette is a standard breakfast that can be eaten at Indian food stalls (egg stands). Chocolate and herbal tea. After breakfast, I took a rest in my room. A list of leisure activities at the resort. There are also desert activities available. You can enjoy marine activities by going to the Red Sea, but it takes an hour from this resort. If you have time, you might want to enjoy desert activities and bird watching. The Red Sea Project offers a sky blue Lucid Air electric car transportation service. The car has a cool exterior and interior. It is comfortable with tissues, a small storage compartment, and water. It takes about an hour from the resort to the airport. See the camels in the desert as we head to the airport. We arrived at Red Sea International Airport. It is a new airport that opened on September 21, 2023. It is a small airport with a beautiful design inside. There is a cafe and lounge in the restricted area. We can enjoy snacks and drinks at the cafe. There are only two boarding gates. Transfer to the plane by bus. You can get to Red Sea International Airport from Riyadh or Jeddah on Saudia domestic flights. Alternatively, you can get to Red Sea International Airport from Dubai on Flydubai International flights. Saudia Airbus A321 aircraft. There are 20 business class seats in a 2-2 seating arrangement. Futuristic seats and cabin design. Mixed nuts and towel service. Ample legroom. Small storage space on both sides. Universal power outlets and headphone jack. Wireless smartphone charging. Seat controller. Personal screen remote control. Cool personal screen. Dining table. Storage space and booklet holder. Air sickness bag. Airbus A321NX aircraft. Screens support 16 languages. Saudi Arabian coffee service. In-flight announcements start before takeoff. 5L is a seat with a view of the engine. 3D moving map is activated. The flight departs Red Sea International Airport at 3pm and is scheduled to arrive in Riyadh at 4:55pm. The flight is 601 miles long and takes 1 hour and 55 minutes. From the window, I can see a seaplane that I have been on before. Saudi Arabia’s seaplanes are amphibious and depart from this airport. Safety video. Serious content. Prayer time. The airport is unfinished and work is still ongoing. The plane started moving. Takeoff. The west side of the airport is a view of the desert and the Red Sea. I can see the Shebala Resort that I went to before. It looks close from the air, but it takes about 40 minutes from the coast by speedboat. I enjoy the view of the desert and mountains. Perhaps because it was Ramadan season, there was no meal. Economy class was enough instead of business class. Chocolate and black coffee were served. There were also USB ports between the seats. We are about to fly over Riyadh. The view is almost like a desert. To King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. It is an airport that seems to be alone in the desert. We arrived safely. I would like to visit other hotels and resorts in Saudi Arabia. Thank you for watching.
Today we will be staying at Six Senses Southern Dunes, the first resort in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Red Sea Project.

Six Senses Southern Dunes is the first resort in Red Sea Global’s The Red Sea Project, which opened in November 2023. The resort is located in the Alnesai Desert and is the centerpiece of Red Sea Global’s Red Sea Project, which includes 28,000 square kilometers of coral-covered ocean, islands and deserts.
The resort was designed by renowned British architects Foster + Partners. Paying homage to the Nabataean traditions of the Red Sea coast, the entire site was built with environmental considerations in mind, and it is the first resort in Saudi Arabia to achieve LEED Platinum certification. The shaded central oasis is inspired by desert flowers.
The resort has 36 rooms and suites, as well as 40 pool villas arranged in two rows that follow the shape of the desert. The rooms, with interiors reminiscent of Bedouin traditions, are spacious, with stunning views that you can enjoy for days and plenty of space to make the most of them.

Saudi projects are very beautiful
ラスベガスも最初は何もない砂漠だった
お部屋に入るのに10分は大変でしたね
お部屋の窓からの景色は圧巻ですね お疲れ様でした
One of the best resorts to blend new construction into local surroundings. I think we are going to extremes with that concept; I don't want wildlife thinking the resort is part of their natural surroundings. Hopefully this environmental fad is at its apex; we are allowed to be bold in our design. Also, we are not trying to stay hidden from satellite cameras like a nuclear facility.
Thank you for your video. This is a profound holiday village. I think I have the opportunity to visit such a place. I look forward to your next video.

Hi ST another great vlog of a Red Sea Resort. Throughly enjoyed it. I love all your travel vlogs especially Saudi Arabia and The UAE. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend 👍❤️😎👋
