Japan Walking Tour

Walking around Mukogaoka Yuen from Ikuta Current location: Miyamae Ward, Kawasaki City Where am I? First, I headed towards a temple called Akizuki-in, which I discovered while passing by. Please subscribe to our channel. We need your help to keep this channel running. The surrounding area is a residential area. This is Akizuki-in Temple. It has a beautiful name. It is said to have been around since the Sengoku period. The fortress-like building you can see on the hill across is St. Marianna University Hospital. Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Waterworks Nagasawa Water Purification Plant This area seems to be Senshu University. Ikuta is known as the home of Meiji University, but there are other universities there too. I think I’ve heard of Senshu University, but maybe not. It’s nice to see universities other than the one you graduated from. This shrine is located along the route that students of Senshu University take to get to school. Kitano Tenjin Shrine That seems too sudden. There is a sacred forest and a single shrine. It feels like a typical local shrine. After a short walk from the shrine, we arrived at the entrance to Ikuta Ryokuchi Park. Togakushi Fudoguchi I wonder if this is what the landscape looked like before the hills around here were developed. I wonder what it is. There are a row of stone pillars. It has an atmosphere similar to that of an RPG. Apparently there used to be a Togakushi Fudoson here about 60 years ago, but it was destroyed in a fire. It’s a great idea for using the site of a former temple. I went out into the open. There’s something Masugatayama Observatory Apparently this area used to be a castle. It’s cloudy and visibility is poor. You can see the construction site for a high-rise apartment building in front of Mukogaoka-Yuen Station. You can’t see the city centre very well. If they were going to build it, they should have built it taller. This is Ryoanji Temple. A grave of an abandoned person. It’s the grave of someone with no relatives. It looks old. It may date back to the Edo period. That’s all for today. Thank you for watching. If you enjoyed it, please subscribe and like the channel.
