The 3 days and 2 nights trip to Nagano that I had planned for a long time finally set off! It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagano Nagano Station. After arriving , the 3-day and 2-night trip to Nagano is about to begin. On the first night, we stayed at the Nagano Metropolitan Hotel, a hotel next to JR Nagano Station . You can directly access the room in Nagano Station . In addition to the mountain view, there is also a train view. Opposite the hotel is a small business district with Donki, convenience stores and many restaurants. There is also Mi Do Ri in Nagano Station. There is a cafeteria on the third floor of the department store. My first meal in Nagano. It’s not cheap to eat Shinshu beef , but the meat is delicious. If you don’t have a reservation, try your luck before it opens in the afternoon. After dinner, let’s see where we will take the bus tomorrow . Good night, Nagano. Let’s go to Zenkoji Temple for breakfast. See you later. Let’s take a bus with friends from in front of Nagano Station to Zenkoji Omotesando, which takes about 7 minutes and get off at Hanakōji. We go to taste the famous Nagano specialty – okonomiyaki Ogawa Noso Daimon’s fireside okonomiyaki. It only starts serving at 10pm. Come back later~ It’s starting to snow☃Zenkoji Omotesando is a gentle uphill slope Zenkoji Temple in the snow is a beautiful street . There are many gourmet shops on both sides of Omotesando. After walking for a while in the snow, the more I walked, the hungrier I became. The snow fell harder. After a while, the sun came out and the snow slowly stopped. Let’s have some snacks and then go to eat the fireside okonomiyaki. The Zenkoji Temple Nakamise store is also in Nagano Station. There are branches, and there are many flavors of okonomiyaki. Take it out of the steamer, and the hot おいも日和Zenkoji Nakamise Dori store bought roasted purple sweet potato and purple sweet potato. The purple sweet potato is still as delicious as ever~ Shinshu りんご confectionery workshop BENI-BENI. Beni can already smell the fragrance from a distance. Beni apple batch! Caramel flavored apple slices, I finished one and immediately bought another! Returning to the “Ogawa Nozhuang Daimen” where I just got off the bus, my uncle made the sesame pancakes that were fragrant and crispy! Delicious! Delicious! Although there are only 3 flavors, the freshly grilled robata adds flavor to the okonomiyaki. The freshly baked okonomiyaki completed our breakfast today. We met up with friends successfully, picked up the car and started a self-driving trip ~ first starting from Nagano to Togakushi Shrine, and then driving to Hakuba Village from Nagano. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to Togakushi Shrine. Only 10 minutes after leaving Nagano city, you can already see mountains of snow moving through the winter forest. It feels like you are in Europe . The mountain road has many twists and turns. Every time you pass through the tunnel, the snow seems to be thicker. The front is The Northern Alps in Japan are so majestic. There are also buses from Nagano Station to Togakushi Shrine, but the buses are less frequent. Togakushi Shrine has two main entrances: Nakasha and Okusha. The winter bus will stop at Nakasha and it takes an hour to walk to the cedar trail after getting off. We plan to drive directly to Okusha and walk a short distance to Suishinmon and the cedar trail. We park the car in the parking lot next to the Okusha entrance and finally arrive at Togakushi Shrine. The road behind the cedar trees is dangerous, and we only plan to walk all the way near Suishinmon . The snow is very high, but the road is easy to walk. Wearing crampons makes it easier to walk, and it is not easy to slip. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the entrance of Okusha to Suishenmen . The red Suishenmen is particularly conspicuous in the cedar forest. There are many cute little ducks 😍The snow on the cedar trees will fall from time to time. Falling down, it was a bit scary. The huge cedar tree made us look smaller. We walked back to the entrance of Okusha Shrine along the original road and ended our trip to Togakushi Shrine~~ Togakushi Shrine Okusha Parking fee is 800 Yen. It takes about 1 hour to drive from Togakushi Shrine to Hakuba Village along the way. Passing through an observation location with a snowy mountain landscape , the mountain road is winding. After driving through the tunnel, you will arrive at the Shirasawa Pass Observation Deck. There is a small open space at the observation deck. You can stop your car and enjoy the scenery . However, since the observation deck is very close to the entrance and exit of the tunnel, be careful about vehicles and wild animals that may appear at any time (such cute deer😍). I like the feeling of walking through the forest. After coming out of the forest, in front of us is the Japanese Northern Alps . We finally arrived at the Hakuba Village that we have longed for! It’s almost 12 o’clock, so let’s have a bowl of ramen first at Hakuba Station. The central roof of Hakuba Station is designed as a triangle. It’s very interesting. The ramen shop next to the station “らぅめん曰屋Hakuba Branch” is the best way to keep warm in winter. Go to Snow Peak Landstation Hakuba to see the snow-view glass house, Snow Peak I really know how to choose a place. I want to come back to Hakuba Village in the summer. I want to see the beautiful scenery of Happo Pond. Rice from Nagano Prefecture is also good to buy as a souvenir . I never tire of the peaceful snow scenery. I will go to Sierra Resort Hakuba before sunset. There is also a shuttle bus to Hakuba Station and the ski resort when I stay in the hotel . I am looking forward to spending a night in this forest resort. The snow scene in the hotel lobby is so beautiful that it is unreal. For a second, I thought I had booked a basic room type in ASMR , a snowy mountainous area in Canada . There is also a thick snow scene outside the window. Before dinner, we walked in the snow in the courtyard 🍷 Everyone wants to go to the Lounge to have some snacks and drinks~ (Lounge environment restored in the morning) Lounge snacks and drinks are provided starting in the afternoon. During the Happy Hour at dusk, there is all-you-can-drink red and white wine and local sake. I accidentally ate too much~ There will be dinner later. The dinner for one room and two meals is a French 5-Course Meal 😂 Unprofessional food review: The presentation is exquisite, and the taste is good. The Wagyu beef upgraded after adding money is indeed different, delicious! Eat a romantic French meal at a hot spring hotel, and have an interesting experience before going to bed to soak in a private hot spring bath in the snow. It’s very Feeling ♨️ Good Morning ☀️ Today’s weather is just as good! Come and have breakfast. Breakfast is a buffet style with many food choices. It’s a rich and satisfying meal . The weather is great! Let’s play in the snow in the garden and take a hot spring bath again~ Fortunately, we successfully made a reservation for the only open-air snow hot spring bath with a view of the snow, which is the best! Hot spring ASMR ♨️I can’t bear to leave this hotel, it’s so perfect! We still have to continue our trip, and the next stop is Hakuba Iwadake Snow Park! It only takes 10 minutes from Sierra Resort to Hakuba Iwatake. Parking lot of Maamatake Snow Park – I won’t ski this time for free , but buy a sightseeing cable car ticket. The new cable car of Hakuba Iwadake will only be opened in December 2024. You can see the super beautiful snow- capped mountain scenery of Hakuba Iwadake. After getting off the cable car, go left and you will see the big swing of the ice and snow park Hakuba Iwadake (the music is a bit strange~) but the snow-capped mountain scenery is shocking! No wonder this is called the most beautiful ski resort in Hakuba. The Japanese Northern Alps are right in front of you 😍 Super beautiful! Even if you don’t ski, it’s worth a visit ~ The short 2 days and 1 night trip to Hakuba ended like this
