彼らが見せたくない本当の新疆への旅:ウルムチ天山天池新疆の旅が正式に始まるウルムチ | 天山天池

Hey everyone, welcome back. I know
I’ve been quiet for the past month, but for good reason. I’ve been working hard
behind the scenes to launch my new website, which is finally coming to life. But most
importantly, I’m back with an epic new series—six videos exploring the breathtaking
beauty of Xinjiang. This is just the start, and trust me, you don’t want to miss what’s
coming. And hey, if you’re planning your own trip to China and need tour help, tips, or a
custom itinerary, check out my website or shoot me an email. I would love to help you explore this
incredible country. Now, let’s dive into Xinjiang. Good morning, everyone. Welcome back to my
channel. So, on this episode, I am taking you to the most controversial area of China. It is
also the biggest province in China—it is one-sixth of the whole country. Like all the land in China,
we’re going to Xinjiang. Because I wanted to take a direct flight, but there’s no direct flight from
Hong Kong today, so I am going to Shenzhen to take this flight. And to do that, we have to take a
transfer. Price would vary because it depends on your time to the Shenzhen Bao’an Airport. If you
guys need it, just comment below. Let me show you the car—very, very comfortable, a seven-seater.
It sits three in the back and two in the front. Of course, if you need a bigger car, I can help
you arrange that as well. Because last time I went to Yunnan, I also did the same, and we had
five people at that time, so we had a little bit bigger car, and it’s very convenient. So, I will
see you guys at the airport Shenzhen Airpor! Now, heading to the lounge to wait for my
friend. She’s on the way. Pretty cool airport, right? I cannot wait to show you and explore with
you all together about this province. I’ve been looking forward to this for a very long time.
Let’s see—I kept an open mind so that I could be surprised. I didn’t do much research either
because I wanted to see the true beauty of it, and I wanted to experience this province
firsthand. As in, I want to be surprised. I want to see it myself. I didn’t want a
perception before I go, so that’s the reason. Arrived at the lounge. Cakes and pastries, and
steamed potatoes, and bread, and of course, noodle bar. Condiments—I’m sure you guys remember all
these. Now, this is very China. Congee, eggs, and vegetables. Fried noodle—I ordered a beef noodle.
This is the quiet resting area. This is the Shenzhen Airline business for regional. It’s not
bad at all, actually. The value is pretty good for its price. I’m going to tell you how much in the
corner. And this is a five-and-a-half-hour flight. So, we got our food. I think this is the fish, but
it looks like chicken. And then some vegetables, Chinese soup, and rice. This is a very
Chinese airline, for sure. We are very, very tired because we didn’t sleep. I
slept one and a half—not even —one and a half hours. So that’s why we chose to fly
more comfortably. So, let’s try it and see. Okay, maybe it is fish, actually.
It’s pretty tasty. Denise said the soup is really good, so
let’s try it. Everything is really, really hot, so that’s a good thing, I think.
All right, so I have—see you guys in Xinjiang. Guys, so we have arrived in Urumqi Airport. It is
actually a pretty big airport, quite international standard. Actually, it has one toilet seat—all the
others are squats. Just for the ladies who wonder, there is a toilet seat. So, we will stay in Urumqi
for one night. We booked a popular restaurant, and we will go to the grand bazaar as well after we checked in at the hotel.
And hopefully, it will go smooth from here. Guys, this is the signature of this
Urumqi Airport—all these camels. Because, as you know, where we are right now
was part of the Silk Road. Wow. Well, guys, so they welcomed us with this
sign. We were so shocked—we were like, “Woah!” Wow, look at the flowers. OMG. So,
Denise was right—we’re going to be carrying this every day because we’re going
to be in a different hotel every day. So, there are two options for the car. This is
one of them. So, this is a seven-seater with lay-flat seats, and you can definitely take a
nap in there. There are chargers and everything. So, you can decide if you want this or a regular SUV
or a regular van. This one is a custom-made van. Arrived at our hotel here at Urumqi—is it Urumqi?
I have no idea how to pronounce it. It’s a double bed. They are out of suites, but we don’t need
one anyway. So, here is the counter and a regular toilet, bathroom. Perfect. And the value is
actually really good—it’s only 400-something RMB. Arrived at the Grand Bazaar
here. Beautiful, beautiful. So, we’re going to go in. It is a very touristy
area. You can see all the mosques and everything. Look at how huge this bread is. This is my hand,
and this is this bread. It’s bigger than my face. Denise is getting this lamb
chop bun. Yes, this is also super-duper famous here in Xinjiang. These are the Xinjiang pastry shop. Wow, I got
this pastry. It reminds me of baklava in Turkey. We’re inside the bazaar’s bazaar. This is
totally like Egyptian and Turkish because they also have this type
of grand bazaar. Wow, how cool. Wow, so that’s supposedly real because it’s
2,000 RMB. But I’m anti-fur, so I actually want a fake one, honestly. All right, so look
at this saffron. Saffron is very good—good for paella. And they are also famous for this. Wow,
look at this market. Lots of herbs, lots of jade, walnuts. These are like—these walnuts look really,
really yummy though. These are wild walnuts. In all the plazas in China, the people are
always dancing. So Beautiful. So, Denise is getting this coffee that is inside
this bread here. She actually said it’s not hot at all.(as it’s chilly now) I just told her to be honest.
She said it’s very milky—it’s just warm, not hot. But actually, luckily,
it’s not cold, right? So, it’s okay. Pomegranate, honeydew—all the melons are
super sweet here. They have this saying here: If it is not sweet, we won’t charge
you because all the melons here are super-duper sweet. Wow, look at these honeydews and
watermelon and melon and cantaloupe. Wow. They’re also famous for raisins. And
you know, there’s a village that sells for 98 yuan per kg. So, if you see something
for like 15 or 20, don’t buy it because they’re definitely not from here. This is
the first time I’ve ever seen rooms like these actually. Look at these walnuts. Now, this is my hand.
Can you see how huge these walnuts are? My god. Wine from Xinjiang—as you know, they
are very, very famous for grapes. So, of course, it would make it easy
to understand that this is a very good region for wine. Look at these
wines. So, Denise and I both drink, so we will be buying a lot of wines.
We got this. Wow, it’s so big. Wow. All right, this is a very, very famous restaurant
here in Xinjiang. It is a barbecue restaurant. I cannot wait to show you guys the inside. This is
an area that’s full of restaurants—at least like 100 restaurants here. As we were driving by—of
course, we’re having the barbecue—and there’s like a burger place over here, a cigar bar, a club. What
is it? This one—this one is a yakitori bar. Just like regular noodles as well. And then there’s
another thing—it looks like a barbecue here. We arrived and got seated. What we didn’t
know is that our guide helped us wait for this table for over one and a half hours.
So, we ordered this—actually, we bought this red wine. It’s says North Ancient Road—i
a Xinjiang red wine. It is a cabernet sauvignon. I would say it tastes like a $20 wine, and
I think it cost like $35, but it’s not bad. This is beef skewers. I know that this is a famous
place for lamb. Denise is going to have it for us, and she said it’s very, very good.
Very good, yummy, yummy. Good, enjoy. This is some kind of dessert. The next day! Morning, morning from Four
Points Sheraton here in Urumqi. These are the condiments for—what else? Noodle bar.
They have like beef brisket, tomato chicken, scrambled eggs, sunny-side-up eggs, boiled
egg, any order, and omelette. Of course, that’s a salad bar. That’s a
lot of food for Four Points. Oh, my favorite—yogurt, fruits. Ooh, you must
have the cantaloupe here and the watermelon. And then we have assorted pastries, some
bread. Oh, there’s more. Wow. Oh, now this is—these are the Xinjiang delights. Oh, wow. Oh,
remember, they’re very famous for raisins. Wow. Beef brisket noodle with cilantro and
scallions—that’s my favorite. Good morning. So, today is our day two of the trip. We are
leaving Urumqi to go to this mountain called Tianshan. It literally means “sky mountain.” It’s
only an hour away from the city center of Urumqi, so very, very close. So, if you do ever come
here and you just want to go somewhere around, this is definitely a good choice. As you know, all
the other points of interest are quite far away. And we are starting this 14-day trip here
in Xinjiang, and then we will end our trip in—where else?—Shanghai. There are three
mountain ranges, and we will be able to cover all three of them during these two weeks.
So, this is the first one—Kanas National Geo Park. Yay. As you know, there are 56 ethnic minorities
in China, right? So, just in Xinjiang area, there are 47. So, like 80% of the minority groups
have people here in Xinjiang. You know, Xinjiang is a place that still has a lot of plains, even
though the elevation is about like 2,000 meters, depending on where you are, right? Lots of
agricultural products—like all the melons, as we mentioned yesterday—and a
lot of natural resources like oil. Tianchi also translates to “Heavenly Lake”
in English, reflecting the stunning beauty and the high-altitude location. There’s more
shuttle bus after we get off this shuttle. The whole ride took 40 minutes to get up here.
There’s another one that we can do for 10Yuan. And instead of walking, we are going to
take this—another trolley cart. So, if you choose to walk, then this is the walk
up. I heard it is about 10 to 15 minutes’ walk. We are here. Wow. So, I highly recommend you to take this boat here.
It is 100 Yuan per person. It is extremely scenic, but unfortunately, we don’t have enough
time today. It’s one hour for this scenic cruise. It looks absolutely stunning—absolutely
stunning, guys. Absolutely stunning. It’s like, if you don’t tell people, I don’t think that they
would know that you are in China, right? All right, guys. After Tianchi, the lake, we are
now going to the next destination. And I want to show you the car. So, we rented a seven-seater.
Actually, even though it is only the two of us, you can almost lay flat—you know, kind of with
a footrest. But if you have like five people, they—we have like bigger cars. So,
but it’s perfect for the two of us. As a stop, we are at this S21 Desert
Road. I think it’s like 500 km long. And people take pictures up there.
It is actually pretty chilly, but with the sun, it’s good. So, we’re
going to go up and try to fly the drone. Aside from go-kart and, you know, going up
to the desert, you can also ride camels. It is 80 yuan, and each photo is
40. But my friend just bought one, and they gave her two more because it
actually comes with a frame. So, it’s really, really a reasonable price. So, it is definitely
a good stop—very fun, lots of things to do. This is very cute. Look, it’s just right next
to the highway. They have this picture stop. You see that S21 with a setup—it’s so cute.
Let’s see what else is here. Some snacks—oh, I need this right now. Yogurt. So, whenever you see me and Denise in one place,
there’s always something involved, and there’s always alcohol involved. So, we are opening wine
in the middle of the room. We wanted to open it earlier, but this wine key was in the luggage.
But we waited too long, and I was telling her, “No, let’s not wait anymore. It’s another three
hours, so let’s open it and get it over with.” Okay, so we are trying also
Xinjiang white wine. Cheers. [Music] This was the second day of our
trip, and it also marked the longest journey we drove during the whole
two weeks. We drove a total of 530 km. A few moments later—so, guys, this is
called “thousand-year egg,” marinated in like spice and like sauce and stuff. All right, guys. We arrived at our hotel
here at Beitun. So, on the outside, right, it looks a little bit scary. But our guide
told us not to worry. Right? So, when we get inside—yes, everything is
electronic, digital, and very high-tech, seems like. So, it’s not as bad as it looks. So,
definitely don’t judge this book by its cover because it’s not bad at all—especially
for this price. It’s like only $50 US. So, let me show you the bathroom. Let’s see. Okay,
toilet and rain shower. Yeah, kind of rain shower. Thank you so much for watching again. If
you enjoyed this, don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Now that
we have left the city behind, Xinjiang’s true beauty is unfolding. And
trust me, it only gets more breathtaking from here. The landscapes are nothing
like I’ve ever seen. See you next week.
