Today is February 2025. We have arrived in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In Atami, cherry blossoms and plum blossoms bloom from January to February every year. This video is a Vlog of strolling and admiring those cherry and plum blossoms 😊 Let’s head to the sidewalk where many Atami cherry trees are planted first. So vibrant and incredibly soothing. Here is a promenade painted pink on both sides of the itoi River. Although I arrived a bit late and some of the flowers have begun to fall, it is still beautiful and calming 😌 Walking under a clear blue sky, admiring the cherry blossoms, I wonder if this place could be the closest to spring in Japan. There are many Japanese white-eyes flying around 😊 The pink of the cherry blossoms stands out against the slightly cyan-tinged sky ☀️ Fallen petals have gathered to form pink patterns 😙 So cute 😊 Cherry blossom avenues tend to be found in places with good views, but here, both sides are surrounded by buildings, and the charm is in viewing the cherry blossoms alongside the slightly bustling streets of Atami. As the crowd increases, let’s move to another cherry blossom spot. Here is a small park where cherry trees are planted. It’s a place where you can see the playground equipment and cherry blossoms at the same time, making you feel lively and cheerful 💪 People who come to see the Atami cherry blossoms gather at the itoi River Walkway, so this place is relatively empty, allowing for a leisurely cherry blossom viewing 😌 A winter day walking among the fallen cherry blossoms, it is often said that it is best to see the blossoms at about 70% bloom, but even when they start to fall, the full bloom past its peak can also be beautiful 😊 I visit Atami every winter, and I’m glad I could make it just in time this year. I’m getting hungry, so let’s have lunch at a nearby set meal restaurant. What should I eat? I chose the standard mixed fry set meal. When visiting a place for the first time, I stick to the standard menu 😌 It seems the colorful sesame seeds are meant to be sprinkled over the rice. Let’s eat 🙏 The coating is crispy yet a bit fluffy, making the texture amazing, and the fish and meat inside are full of oil that bursts out when you bite into them. Delicious… Now that I’m full, let’s go see the plum blossoms next. When it comes to plum blossoms in Atami, this is the place. The flowing river is truly picturesque. Plum trees bloom at different times depending on the variety: early, mid, and late bloomers. On this day, the early and mid-blooming varieties were at their peak. I love the deep colors of plum blossoms, as if their brightness has been dimmed 😊 Indeed, they have a refined and great color. It’s no wonder plum blossoms have been popular since ancient times. The weeping plum blossoms are also swaying in the wind. This area is in full bloom! Beautiful… The scene with intermingling red and white is the best. The daffodils were also blooming in the wind. This one is also a daffodil, called the petticoat daffodil. It looks like a trumpet, so cute 🤭 Camellias are also blooming gracefully. It seems that we can see the waterfall from behind up ahead. The rocks look like windows, and the cascading waterfall is right in front of us! This is so good. Viewing the plum blossoms through the waterfall is the best. So this is how it looks from the outside. It’s February, but today’s weather is warm enough to go without gloves and a scarf 🌞 I can’t wait for spring to arrive in full force. Hot springs are flowing, and there’s steam rising 💭 The petals are twirling around and it’s cute 🤭 Even the fallen plum blossoms look vibrant on the water. There was an old-fashioned building among the trees. It feels like a beautiful grandmother’s house and somehow calms me down 😌 From the window, you can see a view surrounded by nature. I would love to live in a place like this. The reflection of the plum blossoms in the pond is beautiful and has a traditional Japanese feel. We’re getting close to the exit. This was a wonderful place to enjoy the colors and fragrance of the plum blossoms. Saying goodbye to Atami Plum Garden while looking at the white plum blossoms swaying against the blue sky. We have arrived at the seashore where seagulls gather. They line up on the railing and look very cute 😊 There are exactly five of them, forming the Seaside Squadron Kamomenja 🪶 It seems to be the molting season, as they’re pulling at their feathers. Not to be outdone by the seagulls, ducks are also walking around. After walking a bit, we reach a spot where we can see the cherry blossoms, the sea, and the town! Such a refreshing scene… Atami Sun Beach, bustling in the summer, is sparsely populated in the winter. Both the sandy beach and the sea feel spacious, making me want to take a deep breath. I think I’ll visit one more cherry blossom spot today. It’s about a 15-minute drive from here, so let’s head back to the parking lot for now. It was such a beautiful place, filled with flowers, that it’s hard to believe it’s a resort area lined with buildings. Goodbye to the city center. The birds are singing in chorus, which makes me feel energized 🤭 The view is amazing! The combination of the sea and cherry blossoms is perfect 💭 The petals are translucent in the backlight. Upon closer inspection, there are buds and leaves, so this might not be Atami cherry blossoms, but rather Kawazu cherry blossoms that bloomed early? Let’s climb higher. Clear and sunny view! My heart feels cleansed 😙 I wish this season could last forever. The sunlight is turning orange. I want to have pudding here at the end. The bag is cute 😊 The jar is super cute 😊 Even the caramel container is cute 😊 Eating it by the sea is the best. The sweet pudding flavor, enjoyed in an open location, soaks into my tired body from all the walking, and I will never forget this taste. The trip is almost over. I’ll head home while listening to the sound of the sea. That’s it for today. Bye bye.
