De CHILE a MACHU PICCHU en BUS DE TURISMO ALEX TOUR Y TREN | DÍAS 1-6 (PARTE 1/2)

Hello, hello everyone, how are you? My name is ‘Ariel Cruz Pizarro’ and in this film, because the video is super long, I will tell you about my complete trip from ‘Chile’ to ‘Cusco’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ in ‘Peru’. A winter vacation tourist package, I traveled all over land in a beautiful tourist bus, very comfortable , and on one of the Peruvian tourist trains that go to ‘Machu Picchu’. It was a dream vacation, an epic adventure that we will enjoy from beginning to end. The journey is 12 days, here we will see 6 4 days of the bus trip, from ‘Ovalle’ to ‘Cusco’ and 2 days doing ‘Cusco’, ‘Sacred Valley’ of the ‘Incas’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ on Monday, June 24, 2024, I am at the ‘Ovalle’ bus terminal because this is where this epic adventure begins, the same for many of the travelers on this tour, our tourist bus arrived, this beautiful double-decker bus ‘Marcopolo Paradiso’ 1800 DD G7′ with ‘Mercedes-Benz’ chassis and heart and I was super happy because ‘Alex Tour’ has two double-decker buses, one very pretty yellow, which we saw in another video and this other bus with this paint that alludes to the Chilean flag just touched this iconic bus for the trip to ‘Peru’ and it was the bus that I wanted, hahaha spoiler. I recorded this on the last day we were in ‘Peru’ memory is fragile, I traveled alone, I almost always travel alone but I lived a very beautiful trip thanks to the warmth of all the people we are seeing on this 12 day adventure we were a big fake family and we lived a dream vacation you are watching: we were happy, content, we made new friends we shared stories and concerns we took lots of photos and we helped each other when we need it it is nice to edit the video, and see all their little faces again I carry them in the spoon, in the heart, hahaha and from the heart, too, I hope that the video serves so that we can relive and remember all the beautiful things that we experienced in this adventure that more people dare to dream and fulfill those dreams that they long for, no matter how quixotic or distant they sometimes seem to be true, thank you for dreaming, many, many thanks for dreaming back to June 24. Each passenger had a specific seat reserved, this bus has ‘Salón Cama’ seats, very comfortable wide seats, a type of bus that is increasingly common in ‘Chile’, we traveled very well in ‘Chile’ I traveled in seat 3, which is the individual panoramic seat. We will enjoy together the best views of the entire trip and you are going to accompany me seeing those views, that’s why in plural: we have a very good space to stretch our legs, with leg rests, these seats have a recline button, I have to press it and when I load my back, I can recline this wonderful, super comfortable seat. I take the opportunity to say hello to you, this is me, hahaha above my head, I have a reading light and an air conditioning outlet and also above, there is a ‘USB’ port connection to charge devices such as the cell phone that works and helps a lot on these long trips on the side I have coasters, there is heating and there was a complimentary cervical pillow for each passenger. What better! TRUE? What better! officially welcome to the trip, fasten your seatbelts and have the fries ready or whatever you want to eat watching this movie with actors and real events I know the video is super long, thank you for clicking the tune and I know you will enjoy everything it was one of the best trips of my entire life, and I have made many trips I can say it with propriety, it was a spectacular trip ‘Ovalle’ said goodbye to us with some very beautiful views this area has had many years of drought but 2024 was a year with some blessed rains and the area was filled with life, with vigor, with green, it has been one of the most beautiful seasons to portray this area , the bus was full, you already saw all the passengers, there were people who were left wanting because they did not have a place in ‘Chile’, schools have 2 weeks of winter vacation, it is generally in July, which is the rainiest month and where children also get sick more But 2024 was in June, on Monday, June 24 , so this trip lasts 12 days because it is designed to use those two weeks of winter vacation. We started on Monday , and we arrived in ‘Ovalle’ on Friday of the following week . It was the best way to spend a winter vacation because of the benefits of the date . couples or marriages, pairs of friends, pairs of friends, really brave people , beyond the fact that the trip is long, which it is, it is a super long trip in distances, the most complex thing is the height, the altitude, due to altitude sickness and the health complications that come with it, this bus goes through very high areas for the same reason, there are many tourist packages to visit ‘Cusco’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ but the majority travel by plane, it is the first time in my life that I see a bus doing this tourist trip and it is something extremely exceptional, at least since ‘Chile’ I am fond of public transport and travel is what I share here on ‘Youtube’, I love transport and adventures when ‘Alex Tour’, this tourist bus company published about this trip they wanted to do to ‘Cusco’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ by bus it was an instant lightning bolt they published it, and in a while I reserved the panoramic seat on the bus I wanted to live this, I have to live this, I loved the idea I booked crossing my fingers so that they could gather other passengers and fill the bus because on other occasions, in other companies it also happened to me that I booked a trip, years ago but they did not achieve the minimum number of passengers and there is no trip they will refund the money, but there is no trip, it remains like a dream that is why it was exciting to see this bus, many people dreamed of taking this trip and finally we filled the entire bus that dream became a reality and I was very happy to see the bus full of passengers and to be taking this trip that seemed like a fantasy of landscapes, from the greens of the ‘Limarí’ valley, near ‘Ovalle’ the night reached us in the ‘Atacama’ desert, the driest desert in the world and we will be traveling in this desert all night showing the bus, this is the first floor of the bus is the seat door, in the middle is the bathroom door and on the right is the crew door along with the access staircase to the second floor of the bus Hello! Hahaha, I’m inside the bathroom on the bus, you see me in the mirror we have a sink, with a faucet it’s water and there’s also soap but it’s a little further away the bathroom has paper, there’s a tinted window below there’s the chemical toilet that ‘s just for urinating and the trash can is deployed with your foot the door locks with a lock, and this is the flush button in the bathroom as the bathroom on the bus is only for urinating from time to time the bus stopped at gas stations so that everyone We went to the bathroom and bought things to eat here, I bought a drink, bread with ham cheese and some sweets. The night trip was super calm and restful, crossing the desert near the intersection towards ‘Sierra Gorda’ the bus stopped at another gas station to refuel, the buses use diesel and I took advantage of taking photos of the bus with the classic camanchaca fog, a thick morning fog that is in the ‘Atacama’ desert every day, Tuesday, June 25, second day of the trip . Dawn touched us in the desert, in ‘Pozo Almonte’ that is about the height of ‘Iquique’ and here we have been 1,400 km from ‘Ovalle’ in distance it is half of the entire route of the trip to ‘Cusco’ in the morning we had breakfast in the desert the desert is super long, I think you notice it and feel it in the images I do not have a mirror to see myself, but I know that my eyes shine I am very grateful to God for every day of my life for the possibility of to do these adventures, to live these wonders and I also understand the privilege it is to be doing this to have the days off and the resources to take a trip like this Maybe later I will tell you the details of the price and the complete package but, nice, nice to be able to do these trips and nice also to be able to share them with you and for you to live them through what I see on my camera and my memories, the desert and this route have very beautiful parts, but of them a very special area that I love is the whole of the ‘Chiza’ slope, the ‘Cuya’ area and the ‘Camarones’ slope or ‘Chinchorro’ slope are impressive landscapes, the clouds are from the Camanchaca fog that It enters from the sea towards the valleys and ravines. The bus has to go down to the depths of the ravine. We have to reach sea level, go down from the top to the valley and then we have to go up again to 1,000 meters above sea level in a relatively short distance. Camanchaca and the desert have a geographical explanation, ideal if you have a map at hand. Cyclones are storms, rain fronts or bad weather , and off the coast of ‘Chile’ is the anticyclone of the ‘South Pacific’ that would be the antithesis, the opposite, a calm, stable area, without storms or rain on weather maps, appears with an A, in Spanish, or letter H for High in English. The anticyclone has influence on almost the entire coast of ‘South America’ depending on the time of year, it moves south in the summer and north in the winter, bringing the dry climate to where the sea of ’Peru’ and ‘Chile’ go, it has cold waters . ‘Humboldt’ current that runs from ‘Antarctica’ to the ‘Galapagos’ islands in ‘Ecuador’, then the further north the waters are warmer, but in general they are cold waters, the same in the ‘Caribbean’ or in tropical areas with warm waters. The sun heats the sea waters and that generates clouds, the water evaporates and those clouds form rains that later evolve into storms and hurricanes , but not here, as the waters are very cold . Evaporation of the water is limited and they are not able to form many clouds, only low clouds are formed that are called strata and that is why the desert is a desert, it never rains, no rain clouds are formed. The anticyclone does not allow rain, but instead every night these low clouds enter in the form of fog into the desert that is the camanchaca. The Peruvian and Chilean coasts, every day they wake up cloudy, understanding these things is beautiful but seeing it in person and seeing all these landscapes is a lot. more charming, of course later in the afternoons it clears, it always clears and as a great milestone of the trip, we are already in ‘Arica’ our last stop in ‘Chile’ before crossing the city of eternal spring for its pleasant and stable climate with all the explanation that I already told you it is always the same on this outward trip, we only passed through the city but on the return, which we will see in another video we did spend part of the afternoon here before returning to ‘Ovalle’ with this, we still have to reach the border with ‘Peru’ which is what really moves us and motivates us on this journey ‘Chile’ is very nice, I have shown it in countless other trips and you will see lots of other trips that I take through my country but we want to get to know ‘Peru’ that’s why we are taking this trip and you clicked on this video, right? Let’s go to ‘Peru’! Hahahaha we see the flag of ‘Peru’, we are already at the ‘Santa Rosa’ border complex near ‘Tacna’ there is a time difference, we have to turn our clocks back in 1 hour those buses make the ‘Arica – Tacna’ route, the international crossing and in the procedures, the cars go on one side and the buses do separate procedures, it is another separate row ‘Santa Rosa’ in ‘Peru’ and ‘Chacalluta’ in ‘Chile’ are customs integrated into one window we do the exit procedure for ‘Chile’, the ‘PDI’ and at another window we do the immigration process for ‘Peru’ to enter. As Chileans we can cross to ‘Peru’ with an identity card, we don’t need anything else. We got off with all the luggage, everything was checked with a scanner, the bus was also completely checked. With manual inspection and with a scanner in all its corners, it took us about 100 minutes here in ‘Santa Rosa’, until we were able to leave and now yes, with the procedures approved with the bus walking and leaving ‘Santa Rosa’, we can say… Welcome to ‘Peru’! Ha ha ha. Woohoo, we are in another country, this whole part of the trip is already new for me, the transit between ‘Arica’ and ‘Tacna’ is permanent , there are buses all the time, there is also a train, the trip is short, customs is a little long, but it is possible to cross and walk around during the day. You can go from ‘Arica’ and be in ‘Tacna’ on the day and return or vice versa. ‘Tacna’ is a city well known to Chileans, in addition to being a border city, it is well-known Due to shopping tourism there are many markets, good quality products at cheap prices and there is Peruvian gastronomy, Peruvian food that is super recognized here we like it a lot and it is also cheaper than in ‘Chile’ so happy, happy to come here to ‘Peru’ the bus took us to a tourist restaurant with live music, La ‘Glorieta Tacneña’ they welcomed us with pisco sour, a typical Peruvian starter of chicken, tomato, lettuce, avocado the main dish was French fries homemade with grilled beef tenderloin another salad… ugh, everything was very delicious I ordered an extra drink and for dessert we received a lucuma ice cream chips with delicacy and a cookie there were other options, but that’s what I ate in the restaurant it was 50 soles plus tip, the place had some very nice murals and paintings on the facades, they looked lovingly made in the heart of ‘Tacna’, near the ‘Parabolic Arch’ and the cathedral of ‘Tacna’ is the civic promenade of the city and is our hotel we arrived at our hotel, ‘Hotel Emperador’ here we all stayed, they took down all the luggage and we stayed 1 night because in the morning we continued towards ‘Cusco’ it is a break in such a long trip my room was 510, although I traveled alone this time I shared a triple room with ‘Luis’, another solo traveler and with ‘Michael’, one of the bus drivers the room is simple, it has the 3 beds, a desk, television, and a private bathroom and that’s it, it’s a simple hotel in the center I don’t know how much it costs per night because it’s not in ‘Booking’ here I’m charging the camera batteries in ‘Chile’ and ‘Peru’ they use 220 volts, the same, and although it’s not the same plug some are compatible and you can use them without problem in the morning, my breakfast was tea, juice, a plate of scrambled egg with ham, butter, pineapple jam and the sacred daily bread. They also offered coffee and other options on Wednesday, June 26, third day, early and already having breakfast we had to prepare to continue the trip and I love this, the bus looked so beautiful in every place we went, hahaha and now I’ll tell you the file with all the information about the bus and also about the tourist package, about the trip this double-decker bus is a ‘Marcopolo Paradiso 1800 DD G7’ chassis ‘Mercedes-Benz’, Brazilian manufacture registered in December 2013, with 43 seats ‘Salón Cama’ 31 seats on the second floor and 12 seats on the first floor I travel in seat number 3. The current painting of the bus was done at ‘Transportes Arratia’ and this bus was from ‘Queilen Bus’ on the route ‘Castro – Ancud – Puerto Montt – Osorno – Santiago’ 17 to 18 hour trip through the south of ‘Chile’ to ‘Santiago’ connecting the archipelago with the continent including a boat crossing, a beautiful route, very, very, very beautiful this is the original publication of ‘Alex Tour’ buses on ‘Facebook’ 12-day trip, 7 nights in a hotel with breakfast departing from ‘Pampa Grande’, ‘Monte Patria’ and ‘Ovalle’ to ‘Tacna’, ‘Arequipa’, ‘Cusco’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ single date trip for winter holidays, there are no other dates or departures the cost of this trip was 950,000 Chilean pesos 1,050 dollars at the conversion at that time and the conversion in other currencies appears as a reference a giant thank you to the members of the channel To those who give a ‘Super Thank You’, to the dear subscribers and to the readers of my books, I am a writer, a book editor, I make all these videos and everything is done with great love. If you like what I do, you will love my books 09:00 in the morning in ‘Tacna’, 10:00 in the morning in ‘Chile’ and we began to move towards ‘Arequipa’ the package has 3 nights in a hotel in ‘Tacna’ on the return trip we stayed the other 2 nights and there we took a tour of the surroundings, we had time to walk around the markets and buy that will also be in the other video of the return trip because now the focus is to get to ‘Cusco’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ (ambient sound) I told you that I am a fan of public transport, and traveling years ago, I had the idea of doing the ‘Santiago – Lima’ trip by bus , there were very nice buses, when I went to the bus terminals to take photos I remember looking at them with affection and saying: sometime I will make that trip, the buses left full, with many passengers and a lot of luggage, people who were moving from one country to another, or people who were going to visit their relatives, there is a large Peruvian community. in ‘Chile’ and also according to ‘Peru’s own statistics of international tourists, 1 out of every 5 tourists in ‘Peru’ is Chilean, between 20% and 25% and it happened that 2019 was that year, hahaha. I arrived in ‘Buenos Aires’ in 2019, a super nice trip, and I said: now, 2020, I’ll save up the money and take the trip to ‘Lima’. 2020, haha the health crisis arrived, boom, the ‘Santiago – Lima’ buses disappeared and never returned today, 2025, when editing this video, they have not returned, there was ‘Cruz del Sur’ from ‘Perú’, which were beautiful buses ‘Andesmar Chile’, ‘Tas Choapa’ which had 2 models working and ‘Ormeño’ when she was alive none of them are doing the route. It hurt me, I wanted to do it and I couldn’t do it. You can do it by combining buses: ‘Santiago’ to ‘Arica’, another bus ‘Arica’ to ‘Tacna’ and another bus ‘Tacna’ to ‘Lima’, but it is not the same. The idea was to do the 50 hours of travel in a single bus and travel in the panoramic window to get to know ‘Peru’ through the highway making that important route the bus ‘El Rápido’ remains, which runs ‘Lima – Buenos Aires’ That question really is endless hahahaha, it’s like 70 hours the bad thing is that those buses have a plotter they put advertising on the panoramic and it looks horrible it’s not good for photos or videos, I know from experience that’s one of the many reasons why I loved this travel itinerary this tourist package I’m getting to know part of the ‘Pan-American’ route of ‘Peru’ the south of ‘Peru’, in the panoramic seat and traveling extremely comfortable in this ‘Salón Cama’ seat reading some texts about The relief of ‘Peru’ , broadly speaking, the country is divided into 3 zones, 3 large zones: the coast, which would be the desert plains near the sea; the sierra, which are the mountainous areas; within that are the mountains of the ‘Andes’ mountain range , but also from there emerge other mountain ranges or valleys of ravines that reach the coast . Basically, ‘Peru’ has mountains everywhere and the third zone is what is to the east of the Andes mountain range. ‘Andes’, on the other side when the mountains end, and that is the jungle on the bus trip we will not see the jungle but boy will we see some of that jungle when we arrive by train to ‘Macchu Picchu’ because that is a mountain, but it manages to have some jungle, it has both things of the route we are doing, I think it is very beautiful there are things that surprise me, like having seen cows that catches my attention a lot, seeing cows in a desert and the other thing is the beauty of the valleys when we find rivers, it looks very beautiful the coastal desert of ‘Peru’ has different faces here in the south of this wonderful country in the distance you can see a freight train in this area, we separated from the ‘Panamericana’ highway that continues towards ‘Lima’ and took another road crossing more mountains to go to ‘Arequipa’ the ‘Panamericana’ was super relaxed, but this road, for me, was somewhat tortuous The landscape is super beautiful, the bus has to cross some mountains to go to ‘Arequipa’ but apparently one of the normal roads was closed, we had to take a slow traffic road and there were many reckless drivers, many near accidents due to vehicles overtaking on curves, overtaking in a continuous line, and there were many cars, trucks, buses, all types of vehicles, very reckless, it is a mountain road with several curves and zigzags and above all, trucks, many very slow trucks because this route also accesses work sites. mining companies among them, ‘Cerro Verde’ which is one of the largest copper mines in ‘Peru’ open pit mine, a very relevant mine in the country (ambient sound) with a tunnel, we left that mountainous area, and almost like a miracle because it seems that way from the bus window we entered something totally different . Welcome to Arequipa! that welcomes us with these views with a very beautiful valley full of green, the valley of the ‘Chili’ river that originates, precisely, in the mountains that we crossed in ‘Arequipa’ I also saw several beautiful buses passing by , I have my eye on it, also ‘Arequipa’ is the second largest or most relevant city in ‘Peru’ in economic and population terms and for the same reason there is a lot of competition and many interesting buses doing this route ‘Lima – Arequipa’ there are even buses with ‘Premium 180º’ seats To the capital there are 1000 kilometers of route but as they are mountainous areas, the trip takes about 18 hours in ‘Arequipa’ we entered the restaurant ‘Calicanto’ that receives several delegations and tours in photo, we see an old train on the iron bridge for food, as a starter we had avocado stuffed with salad and the main course was grilled chicken with French fries to drink there was lemonade in a jug all of this cost 35 soles, about 9 dollars, and other currencies appear (ambient sound) here comes one of the virtues of traveling, so a panoramic tourist bus arrived for the whole group. We took advantage of the afternoon to get to know something about ‘Arequipa’, the white city in ‘Peru’. These types of buses are called mirabús. Several cities have these vehicles to explore and see in ‘Tacna’ and they also have them. In reality with the tunnel we cross a single mountain ‘Arequipa’ is immersed in the mountains of the ‘Andes’ the city is between 2,000 and 2,800 meters of altitude depending on where you are standing and next to that, it is also a city surrounded by volcanoes near ‘Arequipa’ there is the ‘Chachani’ volcano, the ‘Misti’ volcano and the ‘Pichu Pichu’ volcano the one we see should be ‘Misti’ at one point we reach the bridge iron, the same one in the photo of the restaurant, the bridge was part of an old railway that linked ‘Arequipa’ with ‘Puno’, now the bridge is pedestrian and currently there is the luxury tourist train ‘Belmond Andean Explorer’ that allows us to do ‘Arequipa – Puno – Cusco’, and/or ‘Arequipa – Puno’ but it costs thousands of dollars, more expensive than our entire bus trip, hahaha in ‘Arequipa’, we were also able to experience the rush hour and see the public transportation from outside. of the city , which are mainly small buses, the metropolitan area has about 1,500,000 people, adding the city and other suburban districts, we laughed, yes, because the traffic in the city was also crazy at times when I was in ‘Lima’ the streets were also chaotic. We arrived at one of the stops. This is the interior of this Peruvian panoramic bus. In ‘Peru’ there are several small bus bodies, local in scope, including some artisanal ones, there are a variety of models and That also applies to these tourist buses , this is an ‘Immetaz’ bus, a local coachbuilder from ‘Arequipa’ and the chassis or platform is ‘Ashok Leyland’, from ‘India’ so you know what it is like inside. And this is what this beautiful panoramic bus looks like on the outside. This place is the ‘Yanahuara’ plaza. a very nice and quiet place, which has a water fountain, a parish from the church, we just saw some girls come out in party dresses, they were celebrating their 15th birthday, the 15th birthday party or “quinceañera” was nice, it is an important celebration in various parts of ‘Latin America’ we have to celebrate life, many times we take so many things for granted that we forget to celebrate that we are alive, so very happy to see that and ‘Yanahuara’, here is a beautiful viewpoint of the city with the views of the ‘Misti’ volcano at night, in some parts we could see the city from above on the bus, very beautiful views ‘Arequipa’ left me with a very nice impression with the desire to return, to get to know more ‘Arequipa’ itself is a powerful tourist destination, there is the ‘Colca’ canyon which is quite famous, with the condors you can see condors in the mountain range, seeing the mountains is something that I hope to be able to visit sometime and the bus later dropped us off near the ‘Plaza Mayor’ of ‘Arequipa’, the center of the city, and I loved this. When I travel, I try to look for experiences with transportation or nature. My interest, I admit, is not so much to see the cities or the urban part, but the center of ‘Arequipa’ is beautiful . The architecture of all the buildings that are next to the square is beautiful and the other thing that, I insist is my perception, everything is well maintained, no scratches or graffiti, everything clean, a lot of security, really beautiful and left a very nice impression on me. Feeling, too, that I am in another country is different from what you see in the civic center of Chilean cities so beautiful, very nice here in ‘Arequipa’, I also bought ‘Altivital’ some natural pills for altitude sickness, they are pills of various herbs with muña to prevent discomfort, the so-called soroche tonight on paper, and in reality it was the most complicated and hardest part of the entire trip, of the 12 days from ‘Arequipa’ to ‘Cusco’ There are not many route options, all the possible routes cross mountains and have high altitudes. In fact, once you leave ‘Arequipa’, in a while you are already at 3,000 meters as we would cross mountains. I prepared myself with those pills. Altitude sickness usually hits above 3,000 meters. Some people are affected a little lower down. I took a couple of pills in ‘Arequipa’ and every 8 hours I had to take a pill in ‘Cusco’. That’s what he told me. the pharmacist, when I bought it for the cold, I used my parka as a blanket, and I tried to rest. I’m not afraid of the altitude, but I have a lot of respect sincerely, my mentality was “it’s not going to happen to me, nothing is going to happen to me” but I’m going to take care of myself. Years ago I was in the ‘El Morado Glacier’ at 3,200 meters this is in the ‘Andes’ mountains near ‘Santiago de Chile’ that’s what our mountains are like there and I also had to get to 3,000 in a huge waterfall of ‘Yerba Loca’ is another hike in the mountain, very beautiful in the early morning, around 02:30 Peruvian time the bus began to move super slowly because the road was very bad , it was difficult, with some detours Don ‘Alex’, and ‘Michael’, the two drivers, between the two of them patiently moved the bus, with the flashlight they were helping each other and the conditions were extreme according to the map, this was close to ‘Hacienda Pulpera’ was a dirt road slope at 4,400 meters of altitude outside, the temperature must have been below zero, the mountains at night have very low temperatures and despite the heating, on the bus you still felt some of that cold, the panoramic window was frosted, I had to clean it all the time and ice came out at times, the ice came off the whole way was a steady climb, with mountain zigzags, so a large part of the passengers had altitude sickness, with varying degrees. The highest point where we were was about 4,800 meters bordering Mount ‘Wiswillani’ of 5,070 meters but we practically spent most of the night above 4,000 meters As mitigation, the agency brought an oxygen balloon for these cases (ambient sound) on Thursday, June 27, the fourth day of the trip, dawn greeted us in the mountains at 4,300 meters of altitude, with beautiful views. The dreaded altitude sickness occurs because you breathe but due to the low atmospheric pressure, you cannot get enough oxygen, you are left with less oxygen in your blood and that impacts the entire body. This is called hypoxemia at 3,000 meters, oxygen saturation. in blood it decreases by 7% at 4,000 meters it decreases by 15%, and that is part of the adventure, in any case we all knew that we could experience that and each body is different and reacts differently. In the morning, we arrive at a town that appears on the map as ‘Pallpata’ and also as ‘Héctor Tejada’. At 3,980 meters above sea level we stopped to have breakfast, also to breathe and rest a little after the difficult night we experienced. The town was very quiet, we could see some lambs and we saw how several children were running to enter school. From all parts of the town, the children arrived walking or running to study, arriving right on time. How Latin American it is! It isn’t true? Hahaha , as an anecdote, there is also ‘Chocman’ here, a Chilean candy , but the format or size is different from what we usually see in these landscapes, there are things that really caught my attention , it blew my mind, I was very surprised to see all these landscapes , we are at high altitudes, but the mountains have no snow, I showed them the photos of what the mountains were like in ‘Santiago’, the snow level is super high in winter, over 5,500 meters high . ‘Misti’ volcano in ‘Arequipa’ had a little snow only on the top and it is a super high mountain here we don’t see snow in these mountains, at least at this time right on the road we saw a shepherd who was crossing with his cows, many, many cows and that is another thing that surprises me: life we are super high up, but we see cattle we see some small towns, distant from each other, but there are towns there are people living in these areas sometimes you see some people with typical clothing it is possible to see crops or agriculture in these areas areas and this is the landscape of the puna, with these somewhat yellowish grasslands or bushes, I am excited to think that it is a route that I would not be able to know in any other way. The normal buses from ‘Arequipa’ to ‘Cusco’ also travel at night but they arrive in the early morning to ‘Cusco’, between 5 and 7 in the morning. From what it says on the internet, you can’t see anything of the road, and I don’t know if they travel on this same route. I believe that the trip by land also helps to dimension, to understand the great What was the Inca empire in its time, what is the civilization that made ‘Machu Picchu’ and it is impossible not to stop and think, on our journey, from ‘Ovalle’ in my case from ‘Santiago’ which is the capital of ‘Chile’ we have been traveling for 4 days by bus, and all these territories that we have crossed with their different geographies, landscapes and particularities were part of the Inca empire, the ‘Tahuantinsuyo’ everything that you have seen in the video, were Inca domains In the north, the Incas reached ‘Ecuador’ and ‘Colombia’ and on the south side, they reached a little beyond ‘Santiago de Chile’. This is a photo of the ‘Pucará de La Compañía’ in ‘Graneros’, near ‘Rancagua’ that I was able to visit at the university years ago with professor ‘Héctor Caviedes’. It was a giant empire in the year 1500, with a great peculiarity, they did not have writing although they did have accounting, with the quipus, Some ropes with knots did not have horses either because they did not exist, they did not use wheels nor did they have large machinery. They gained their domains by walking, we went by bus but they made all these journeys on foot and with pack animals, they used llamas, camelids but they were not for riding them, but rather for carrying bags of corn, grain, things like that. I find it incredible. Another of the milestones on the road is the city of ‘Sicuani’ with another peculiarity that also catches my attention. Did you notice that there are trees in the surroundings of this city? before reaching the city, and from now on, in what we will see, there are trees, not only the yellowish bushes, but the landscape is transforming. It is one of the cities with the most life on this route and we are still at altitude, at about 3,500 meters of altitude after ‘Sicuani’ we stopped at a rural restaurant to have lunch and rest a little. My dish was chicken broth, it came with the leg and everything, hahaha this cost 18 suns in an important part of the way, we are in the valley of the ‘Vilcanota’ river from ‘Sicuani’ onwards, a river with beautiful waters that is the same river that runs parallel to the ‘Machu Picchu’ train and that continues its course through the mountains and jungles to be a tributary of the ‘Amazonas’ river of ‘Brazil’. Epic these waters reach ‘Brazil’ and flow into the ‘Atlantic’, incredible although they are lower areas, in reality we are still above 3,000 meters but you do see more vegetation, more agriculture, more life, more towns more often in this entire area of southern ‘Peru’, but also of ‘Bolivia’ and northern ‘Argentina’ and northern ‘Chile’, a very special phenomenon occurs: autumn, winter and spring are dry seasons, It rains very little, the rains and snowfalls are concentrated in the summer, something a little counterintuitive. This is called highland winter, Andean winter, Bolivian winter. It receives many names. The humidity and clouds that form in the jungle, collide with the mountains , enter the mountains and precipitate with very heavy rains , orographic rains, including hail, electrical storms, water, snow and snowfall in the high parts of the mountains . puna like these lower parts of the mountain it surprises me that ‘Cusco’, despite the height, is such a fertile area with so much agricultural and livestock life, it sounds obvious, thinking that it is the cradle of a great civilization but at the height of ‘Santiago’, above 3,000 meters you have no vegetation, towns or anything , just ice and bare rock, shepherds with livestock, yes, there is, but there is not much life and here it is full of life, a lot, a lot, a lot of life. The Inca empire had a network of roads, the qhapac ñan and to communicate the empire there were messengers who traveled the roads in systems of posts or relays, they were the chasquis, a message could travel about 250 to 300 km per day, it was very fast considering that everything was done on foot , running with sandals, crossing obstacles such as the relief, the altitude and the different climates. The entire road network had a center that was the city of ‘Cusco’ ‘Qosqo’ at that time from here the 4 large regions of the empire called suyus we are entering, then, in what was the center of ‘South America’ and of this Andean civilization, welcome then to the ancient capital of the Inca empire, the ‘Tahuantinsuyo’ welcome to ‘Cusco’, with 3,400 meters of altitude look, that is the airport of ‘Cusco’ has flights from ‘Lima’, ‘Bogotá’, ‘La Paz’, ‘Arequipa’, ‘Puerto Maldonado’ and at some times of the year, also ‘Santiago de Chile’ has direct flights. Currently there is another airport under construction and that is the monument to ‘Inca Pachacutec’, one of the main rulers of the historic Inca empire that began the great imperial expansion and its consolidation. We will hear it several times in what follows for us. It is the final part of the bus trip. We have to continue the adventure on other buses and on the train to get to ‘Machu Picchu’. The bus stayed in a bus parking lot used by several companies. of normal and tourist buses and the tourism agency that coordinated the trip through ‘Peru’ went to pick us up in minivans and vans to take us directly to the hotel at 4 in the afternoon. We arrived at the hotel at night, we walked through the center and we had the first activity in ‘Cusco’ this is the comprehensive tourist ticket for ‘Cusco’ It is a single ticket of 130 soles for us as foreigners about 35,000 Chilean pesos valid for 16 places and for 10 consecutive days that was included in the tour, they did all this management, each of us had this ticket, we did not have to lose it and it was useful for each attraction, but be careful, it does not include ‘Machu Picchu’ on that night, they took us to the ‘Centro Qosco’ of ‘Native Art’ we saw a beautiful presentation of Andean music by typical dances and the history of the cultures, the towns and each other, also, the people we saw on the route and who lived in the puna was exciting and very, very beautiful in ‘Cusco’, that night we stayed at the ‘Hotel San Agustín El Dorado’ 4 star hotel in ‘Booking’ it appears to me with values close to 100 dollars per night we had a double room with 2 beds with a private bathroom, the room and the beds were super comfortable, it was the best hotel of this entire trip, this time I also shared a room with ‘Luis’, the other solo traveler to whom I send a big greeting on Friday, June 28, the fifth day of the trip, and we woke up super early at 05:15 in the morning, we were already downstairs, the buffet breakfast was available at 07:00 in the morning, we went out to make today’s journey, the buffet was great, there were many options of things to eat, everything was delicious. If I return to ‘Cusco’, I would return to this hotel eyes closed, hahaha, that’s how I liked it so much today we will do ‘Cusco – Pisac – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo’ on a bus and train ‘Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu’ town, also called ‘Aguas Calientes’ ‘Cusco’ is at 3,400 meters in the ‘Plaza Mayor’, and the city is not flat , it has many hills, streets with slopes, high areas both in the center and on the periphery 3,700 meters altitude in some cases. We are in the ‘Andes’ mountains, it is exciting to see and get to know the city, such a historical city and it is much more exciting considering all the long trip we took on the bus and what we have been able to learn about the Inca domains in ‘Chile’ and also in ‘Peru’ we made a brief stop at the ‘Mirador Taray’ viewpoint of the ‘Sacred Valley’ of the Incas which would be a very fertile area and the best agricultural place in ‘Cusco’ the Incas greatly appreciated this valley for that reason and it is the place where the best corn in ‘Peru’ is produced, the view is spectacular ‘William Temoche’: this valley is located 2,800 meters above sea level we will see the presence of mountains with snow, a river that comes from south to north (Vilcanota River) in Quechua it is called the ‘Willkamayu’ river (sacred river) throughout this valley, the main crop is corn (288 varieties) on our entire trip to ‘Machu Picchu’ we will be bordering the river ‘Vilcanota’ the river of the sacred valley, in addition to continuing to explore these landscapes of the Peruvian highlands, and/or the mountains of the ‘Andes Mountain Range’ Look, one of the motorcycle taxis! Hahaha, the transportation is so peculiar here in ‘Peru’ and in ‘Písaq’, on the outskirts, the tour took us to this jewelry store ‘Peru’ has many minerals and precious stones, that is no mystery to anyone besides very beautiful jewelry although I personally don’t know much about jewelry, but they did look pretty they taught us some things, a kind of jewelry class and then people were able to quote and eventually buy jewelry from the current city of ‘Písaq’, the tourist bus, which we will see later he had to climb several zigzags of mountains, these slopes to reach the archaeological park of ‘Pisaq’ where the ancient city was the place has some craft stalls here we see products inspired by llamas, many woven things ‘Pisaq’ is one of the important stops to appreciate the Inca architecture we are visiting part of the original ancient city this is covered in the comprehensive ticket, they mark that you visited ‘Pisaq’ and in the landscape, ‘Pisaq’ It is beautiful because from here you see the sacred valley , we are on the site of the ancient city, you can see the platforms or terraces and below is the current city along with the platforms in a high part at 3,500 meters There was the ancient city and beyond there is a very ancient cemetery ‘William’: when designing this city, they will look for the place where they will build, remember what I told you, the Incas were great architects, engineers and geologists, they did not build anywhere the important thing about ‘Pisaq’, apart from the city, we have the platforms, the platforms or terraces were not only used for agriculture, they also used them as a retaining wall and for ornamentation we will see that in ‘Pisaq’ we are at different altitudes when we reach the In the lower part we are at 2,800 meters above sea level , which would be the slopes of the mountain, and then we go up to 3,446 meters and the highest part of ‘Pisaq’ is 3,514 meters above sea level . What do we have? a difference in altitudes and having that difference there is also a variation in temperatures in the lower parts corn is planted in the middle part they will plant cereals such as quinoa, kiwicha, barley, wheat, oats and in the high parts, the potato (potato) something very important in the construction of a platform is the work system and drainage the channels that will allow the necessary amount of water and nutrients to reach each of these terraces so that the crops are of the best quality the type of constructions that we have in ‘Pisaq’ is architecture of stone, clay and stone, typical of pre-Inca cultures because in ‘Ollantaytambo’ we will see that the architecture will change completely, with large stone blocks of 3 to 20 tons and in ‘Sacsaywamán’ they will be blocks of 120 tons. This tourist bus is from a very special Peruvian manufacture well adapted to ‘Cusco’ it is an ‘Apple Bus’ model with ‘Hino’ chassis, engines and Japanese platforms. The special thing is the part of Upstairs there are USB ports, air conditioning, reading light and an oxygen dispenser. They know that tourists can suffer from altitude sickness so the bus brings oxygen in case you need it from behind, this bus has a ‘Marcopolo G7’ feel, right? Hahaha in ‘Urubamba’, an intermediate city we went into a restaurant: ‘Los Tres Mosqueteros del Valle’ which is a buffet restaurant here the food was included in the cost of the entire tour, it was part of the package but we did have to pay for the drinks I tried to eat a little bit of everything, mainly with noodles , salads and rice to replenish energy while we passed ‘Urubamba’, I’ll tell you some interesting things the Incas built cities with the shapes of animals they thought about shapes of animals, figures of animals and its mystical meanings ‘Cusco’ had the shape of a puma, ‘Pisaq’ had the shape of a partridge, a bird and on the other hand, in addition to the urban planning of the cities, they had large hydraulic systems with canals, aqueducts, and agricultural terraces, both to irrigate and divert water to cultivate in complicated lands, mitigate disasters such as landslides and/or floods and even some dams to store water for droughts or in arid areas, they had exemplary management of water as a resource and could send it from one place to another using the relief in your favor the bus left us here in ‘Ollantaytambo’, a charming place the comprehensive tourist ticket of ‘Cusco’ also includes the visit of the place we will visit now they marked the visit on the ticket this is the archaeological park of ‘Ollantaytambo’ 2,886 meters above sea level, officially the archaeological park of ‘Ollantaytambo’ is spectacular, unmissable, impressive the tambos are places of rest on the Inca roads so this city was a place of rest and accommodation but it also served as a control point of the sacred valley and as a ceremonial center. It is about 200, 250 high steps, it is more demanding than ‘Machu Picchu’ most of us climbed and at the top was the temple of the sun of Inti, the main god of the Incas, although they had several in this area, the temple (ambient sound) was originally on the mountain in front, they had food warehouses the colcas, some holes and structures, where the cold preserved the grains , the granaries were used for bad harvests and to redistribute food in the empire . This monumental or large architecture is from the time of ‘Pachacutec’ , who began the expansion of the Incas, transforming them into a true empire, being here is impressive , the view from up here is beautiful, the wind blows, yes, but it is beautiful. One virtue of ‘Ollantaytambo’ is that it is very well preserved and is a great example of the greatness of the Incas aside, on the terraces we saw alpacas, typical animals of the puna and also of these mountains (ambient sound) after visiting the archaeological park we walked towards the train station, it is about 3 km, so we had to be at the station at a certain time we had to walk a little fast to get there, hahaha within what we could walk this is my train ticket, my train is called ‘PeruRail Expedition’ departure time 15:37 ‘Ollantaytambo’ to ‘Machu Picchu’ (ambient sound) and that is precisely the train we were talking about on the ticket. It is 2 diesel locomotives with 6 passenger cars . At that time, the train was arriving from ‘Machu Picchu’. We had to wait for all those people to disembark and then, obviously, it was our turn to board (ambient sound). As a transport lover, this train trip was one of the things that caught my attention the most . I was hoping what would it be like to travel on this train and get to ‘Machu Picchu’? Incredible, each car had a letter and I had to look for the letter E of the car that corresponded to me. The ‘PeruRail Expedition’ train is one of the economical services but with panoramic cars in quotes, we have many windows as our trip was with an agency, I did not have to reserve anything, each one stayed in the seat that was left. Fortunately, I stayed in a window on the best side. I thank God very much for that, the trip was very enjoyable thanks to that, hahaha (ambient sound) (ambient sound) one of the benefits of the train, regardless of the train you choose because there are some expensive services and other cheaper ones, is that the journey follows the course of the ‘Vilcanota’ river, ‘Urubamba’ river or ‘Willkamayu’ river , the sacred river, the name depends on the place. I am sitting on the left side of the direction of travel in a seat that faces the back but I still have the window and I can enjoy these views and what can I say, I think that if the whole trip has been beautiful, you have seen The entire trip, it has been very nice, this train trip must be one of the most beautiful journeys that I have been able to see in my entire life , imagine, we are on a train bordering a beautiful river in the middle of the ‘Andes’ mountain range, because this is the Peruvian mountain range, these are the ‘Andes’ , the views of the valley, of the surrounding mountains, of the river, everything is a beauty, a beauty, I was very lucky to stay on this side with these views, my eyes were shining, I recorded everything, I took photos of everything, I enjoyed it very much , very, very much, it is very nice, very nice the train also has very nice details there are windows in the roof so as not to lose the details from my seat I was able to see two majestic snow-capped mountains I don’t know which ones they will be, but wow how nice it is to see snow see these mountains from my seat , without moving from here the only time on the trip that I saw a mountain with snow the train has details of a tourist train, with those windows but also with the decorations, with the service on board although in Our case was a glass of water, but it looks like it was made with love. In more luxurious trains, they serve other types of food. Behind me I had some illustrations. I’m in the last seat of this happy car with a bloody nose. I spent all these days in ‘Cusco’ and ‘Machu Picchu’ with a bloody nose, but I’m going to enjoy it anyway even if I’m bleeding, hahaha in life you have to have the attitude of enjoying, of having a good time. Life is too short to be bitter between having symptoms of altitude sickness, and having a bloody nose. I think this is much easier and more bearable, and for that reason I am even grateful, haha, I already have a lot of cotton , there is the luggage, you can only carry handbags of up to 8 kg. We leave the suitcases in ‘Cusco’, we travel only with backpacks, and this is the bathroom in the car , we have a mirror, there is soap, a sink, we have a garbage can, the throne, the toilet, hahaha a window with some visibility and we have toilet paper dispensers (ambient sound) a super nice scene was the crossing with another of the ‘PeruRail’ trains, these blue trains we will see the other trains when we are there in the town as history, the train arrived in ‘Cusco’ in 1906, in ‘Machu Picchu’ in 1929 and the route continued to expand as a Latin American, it is a joy to see these works and legacies that remain in service until today With these tourist services and with the local service of residents as a tourist, in my impression, ‘Peru’ in this seems very admirable to me (ambient sound) there is just a sign for a hike ‘Machu Picchu’ as a destination I had the image that I had to walk too much, in part that also pulled me back a little but part of that mental image comes from the fact that there are many ways to walk to ‘Machu Picchu’ we did it in the simplest way because we used this direct train to the town, then another bus that goes up the mountain and we will only walk up the sanctuary to tour it but many people who come do not take this train or take it partially, and arrive at ‘Machu Picchu’ walking adding kilometers of walking and effort. There are many options and hiking routes, some last 3 or 4 hours like the hydroelectric hike, which is the cheapest option to get there, and other hikes last 5 days, 6 days , some even have these ancient Inca roads in part, that also reassured me about traveling on a tour when you come for the first time. Maybe, it seems to me that ‘Machu Picchu’ has too much information, too many things to understand and I found it confusing, you have to study it very well if you come on your own on a tour for me it was much more relaxed because you had to manage nothing just enjoy, hahaha in the landscape, there is something that is important to consider now that we are looking at all this we started at about 2,880 meters of altitude, which is the altitude of ‘Ollantaytambo’ and I don’t know if you notice that the vegetation is changing We are moving in the direction of the jungle. The area of ’Aguas Calientes’ is called the jungle zone , which is the transition zone between the Peruvian mountains , the puna and everything that we saw before, and the Amazon jungle . This zone in the middle, transition, mixes the mountains and the jungle in the same place. This jungle zone is rainier, greener, more humid, although you cannot live in sweat like in the other completely humid or totally jungle zones . Here it can rain. all year round, but the high season of ‘Machu Picchu’ coincides with the season of least rain, from April to September obviously, on the contrary, between October and March are the rainiest months personally, I insist that this train trip is one of the most beautiful things I have seen in my life obviously, one goes through ‘Machu Picchu’ through the historical sanctuary, through the Inca citadel but this trip in itself is totally worth the scenery and all these wonders are a caress for me. Real senses , what a joy to do this doing the math, this train trip took about 1 hour and a half to get to ‘Machu Picchu’ town. Finally we arrived on time, with daylight, at the ‘Machu Picchu’ station in the town ‘Aguas Calientes’ although there are several services, some from ‘Cusco’, most of the trains and schedules only do this section ‘Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu’ town and/or ‘Aguas Calientes’ (ambient sound) When you get off you can see the interior of the train with the seating arrangement, tables for 4 passengers. In this ‘PeruRail Expedition’ train there are 2 train companies: ‘IncaRail’ and ‘PeruRail’ with economic and luxury versions quoting, the price of the one-way trip costs between 55 and 600 dollars depending on the train and our ‘PeruRail Expedition’ train costs 60 to 76 dollars one way, one way (ambient sound) already leaving From the train we all had to get together because we came in different carriages on the same train, but divided into different carriages we had to position ourselves to be together and we went together to the hotel that I am going to show later ‘Aguas Calientes’ or ‘Machu Picchu ‘. original, the name tells you, hahaha to get there, our hotel was in the lower part of the town and the hot springs are in the upper part of the town, we had to walk and go through this entire town, going up to the end is a beautiful walk, but also somewhat tiring , it has a slope, although it is worth it, the town itself is very beautiful, the hot springs cost between 5 and 20 soles 20 soles for foreigners like us, 5 dollars this ticket was part of the tourist package and was included, we did not have to pay extra, there are several Hot spring pools with temperatures between 34° and close to 40° ‘Celsius’ are rustic hot springs, but it is nice to bathe in hot waters after such a long , very relaxing trip, it was good and in groups there is always reading, good vibes, jokes, hahaha our hotel in ‘Aguas Calientes’ was the ‘Hotel Santuario Machu Picchu’ which is in the lower part of the town, almost where it ends is a super nice hotel, also online It would cost about 100 dollars per night and they gave us a double room with 2 beds with a private bathroom also with ‘Luis’ as a companion, he was a very good adventure companion , the bed was comfortable, but I slept very little because we had to wake up early again on Saturday, June 29, the sixth day of the complete trip and we were having breakfast at 05:00 in the morning. I ate all this that you are seeing, that was my super breakfast: fruits, breads, cakes, juice, tea, everything, everything, hahaha together with the local tourist guides, we left at 06:00 in the morning from the hotel in ‘Peru’. It dawned early, there was already some daylight at that time and the town of ‘Aguas Calientes’ itself, the landscape that surrounds it with the mountains, with the jungle with the river that crosses it, is super beautiful, it is charming, it is too beautiful it looks like something out of a movie, but it is a real town I was happy, and here you had to wait in line to take the minibus the buses that take you to the sanctuary, to the top of the hill, literally all those people woke up early and are lining up before us, we had to look for the end of the line, hahaha 06:45, we are already on the bus, we got a ‘Volare’ bus with a ‘Mercedes-Benz’ chassis, bus 16 who knows, knows that the ‘Volare’ buses are super bouncy, they are very light, haha all the transportation to the sanctuary is centralized in these buses There are no cars and the other option is to walk up the paths to the top, there are many people who do it, be careful, the bus is not necessarily mandatory , the bus trip is beautiful, although also adrenaline because they run, they run in these zigzags, the bus jumps everywhere , it is not a smooth pavement, hahaha and the views are impressive ‘Aguas Calientes’ is at 2,040 meters of altitude, it is below and ‘Machu Picchu’ is about 2,400 meters in For a little while we were at the same level as the clouds and it was exciting, it was beautiful at 07:05 in the morning and we arrived a 20 minute trip on that ‘Volare’ bus that you are seeing, the bus at the entrance was beautiful, the view of the clouds and the mountain was an unmissable postcard and down there there was a long line to get in, even though it is still very early (ambient sound) We enter, welcome, then, to ‘Machu Picchu’ , the historical sanctuary of ‘Machu Picchu’, our reason for traveling when we come, the first apprehension or obstacle that one thinks is that there are many stairs that must be very exhausting, very demanding. This first part has some climbing, but it is a short part, there are breaks and the groups move slowly. The group on our bus has older adults and children, people with good and bad physical conditions, and we were able to do the circuits already being at the top, everything is easier and these beautiful views also motivate us we did so much to get here and we are finally living it (ambient sound) honestly, I think that although the camera takes beautiful photos and records very beautifully in person this is much more beautiful and you feel it even in your pores it is a beauty that overwhelms that morning it touched with clouds, the citadel the typical postcard was covered by the clouds and we had to wait for it to clear, for the clouds to move yes, the wind moves them with speed, one can see the movement of the clouds This is not accelerated, but it is as it was at that moment something very fascinating for me (ambient sound) precisely these areas are the terraces where you take the typical or usual photo of ‘Machu Picchu’ already when it cleared, on this terrace we took group photos and each one also had their opportunity to take their photos (They record us and take the group photo) Person with camera: Hello ‘Chile’ Everyone: Hello this is one of my photos, there is also the group photo the beautiful thing is that we had a good time for the photos, these priceless memories and being here, with this legendary postcard of ‘Machu Picchu’, is frankly incredible. From the terrace area we follow the circuit down some stairs because we are going to the citadel, the old urban part of ‘Machu Picchu’. From here there are also super beautiful views. Something positive about our experience is that although there is a time limit for staying, it is about 3 hours from the moment you enter. The guides took us at a slow pace, very relaxed, with good explanations , in other words, in addition to being nice They gave the time to enjoy being here and not be running or in a hurry and I am deeply grateful for that because for many it is the first and only time in their lives that they will be here and we were all able to enjoy it a lot (ambient sound) we entered the old ‘Machu Picchu’, and note that the walls are made of rocks but they do not use glue or cement, they are constructions that are supported by their own weight, the rocks fit together like a puzzle and they are also anti-seismic constructions. The Incas had a shape of Build with damping systems with special engineering, things do not fall with earthquakes and they were geniuses who did this without heavy machinery, incredible and mysterious at the same time. Let’s look to see if there is a window, so we can show you the view, this one isn’t… and this one is. Ohhh, hahahaha (ambient sound) down there is the ‘Vilcanota’ river, the same as the train, the river of the sacred valley we are super high up and where you can see the land, that is the temple square we have to continue going down stairs, that makes the circuit light until we reach the end what we only have left is to go down I believe that several people have or have dreamed of visiting this legendary place ‘Machu Picchu’ was already known by the locals although it was abandoned for many years, covered with plants The jungle took over the buildings. This was precisely one of the ancient temples, the main temple and the most important building , and at the top was the ‘Intiwatana’, a place for astronomical observation and religious rites. What we see now is the great main square of the city of ‘Machu Picchu’. The Incas also had to walk , recreate, move, do things in community. This is the sacred rock, and along with the rock there are some buildings with roofs. which were used for other religious ceremonies, the city had several types of temples, the circuit runs through different types of buildings and neighborhoods of this city. The scientific discovery was by ‘Hiram Bingham’ in 1911, an academic from ‘Yale’, from ‘United States’, who communicated it to the world. He studied it and made this place famous, a lost city of the Incas, very remote and hidden from everything and locally, the discovery is attributed to Peruvian farmers in 1902. ‘Agustín Lizárraga’, ‘Gabino Sánchez’, ‘Justo Ochoa’ and ‘Enrique Palma’ were looking for fertile lands for new crops arriving at the citadel the path continues using the cultivation terraces, the Inca platforms and we just happened to see llamas, these friendly camelids from the ‘Andes’ llamas that graze super calmly even with the people who circulate near them look, this llama is super close to us, it doesn’t care about anything, hahaha (ambient sound) there is another llama, there are several, it is a nice way to close this legendary hike seeing ‘Machu Picchu’ together with the famous llamas. After this, we have completed the time, and it is time for the ‘Ariel’ exit: we have finished it! In total, my cell phone marked 6,806 steps, about 5 km, it wasn’t that much, I honestly thought it would be worse or more demanding, I wasn’t tired, everything was at a slow and easy pace, you saw it before entering the park, there is an area with bathrooms, luggage storage, they sell rain ponchos and different items in case you need them, and we now have to wait for the bus back while I share with you something that the guide told us: why did the Incas build here? What was the determining factor? In the middle of this mountain called ‘Machu Picchu’, there is a spring of water. Water is very important for ancient civilizations and they brought an aqueduct to the urban area . administrative, political, religious, economic, social center to expand the Inca border… in their countries, when a necessary basic product is missing , what does the government do? imports but in the time of the Incas they did not do that, they were stored in the colcas (depots) sometimes there was not good production due to the ‘El Niño’ phenomenon and for that reason, the Incas had to subsidize and promote production in outside areas, areas of the jungle ‘Machu Picchu’ was abandoned by the last Incas in 1536 , why? because there is no food here anymore, why is there no food? friends, because in ‘Cusco’ the Spanish and the Incas are at war and in the time of the Incas the food was brought along this path , there is the original Inca path, and they brought the food on fire (camelids) to return, we got a ‘Marcopolo Senior’, with a ‘Mercedes-Benz’ chassis , the minibus 22, that bus, precisely, is a ‘Senior’ now it is clearer and we can better appreciate some landscapes that we previously saw full of clouds , I was super happy with ‘Machu Picchu’, with everything we were able to see and everything that this adventure of traveling from ‘Chile’ by bus and also on the train has been, seeing all these wonders. I hope that this story and these recordings do justice to everything beautiful that we experienced, it was a dream vacation, spectacular. In the meantime, I will tell you about the tickets and rates, this is the bus ticket, 24 dollars adding round trip for us as foreigners and the tickets to the sanctuary of ‘Machu Picchu’ They cost 152 soles, while foreigners cost about 40 dollars; and 64 soles or about 17 dollars for people from ‘Peru’ along with some neighboring countries, the tourism agency that saw our trip in ‘Peru’ bought us and managed everything , we didn’t have to do anything, they came with the tickets, they gave us everything if you do it on your own, the tickets to the ‘Machu Picchu’ sanctuary They are bought on a special website of the ‘Ministry of Culture’ of ‘Peru’, ideally you buy in advance because there are limited places. This is the monument ‘Inca’, ‘Condor’, ‘Puma’ includes the Inca and two very important animals of the ‘Andes’ and also in ‘South America’ next to it there are restaurants after the sanctuary, everyone was free until we met at the train station. I came to have lunch at a restaurant that has a view of the train crossing. I privileged the view and really ‘Machu Picchu’ town seemed beautiful to me, I didn’t want to leave, hahaha this is my dish, lomo saltado, a classic of Peruvian cuisine cost 50 soles plus tip and the idea worked because one of the trains just passed while I was having lunch ‘PeruRail’ train passing through ‘Machu Picchu’ town (ambient sound) ‘Aguas Calientes’, or ‘Machu Picchu’ town, it is small, it is easy to get around this on foot, something that I loved is the river that crosses it: the ‘Aguas Calientes’ river that originates in the mountains of the jungle and that delivers its waters to the sacred river in the town, you always hear the river and it is relaxing, it is nice to hear the water, haha, in addition to the fact that the town is in the mountains and the jungle is a super secluded corner and it has these bridges to cross and see the river. How beautiful! (ambient sound) this is an Andean condor, the bird that was in the other sculpture the condor is a symbol of the ‘Andes’ mountains and what we see is the main square of the town, the ‘Manco Cápac’ square is a beautiful square, it has the public buildings, the church and you have to think that since many people go to ‘Machu Picchu’ but you see that it cannot be done during the day from ‘Cusco’ the whole town is a tourist town, with many hotels, restaurants, services for tourists, souvenir shops, craft shops in some cases, the prices can be a little expensive for some things but for me it is a very charming place everything is well cared for, safe, quiet and very pretty (ambient sound) as beautiful as those butterflies that we could see in the town and that are portrayed here in the video that is another of the trains, ‘IncaRail’, the other company, very pretty gray ‘Voyager’ train , it seems to me that they are Croatian units (ambient sound) and also in the crossing, from below I was able to photograph and record another of the ‘PeruRail’ trains crossing through the town, the trains are always crossing. It is entertaining for someone who likes these transportation things. Our day six is ending, it is our turn to go to the train station through the artisan market. We have a train to ‘Ollantaytambo’ and there we will take another bus that goes directly to ‘Cusco’, a bus for our entire group that leaves us at the hotel, this is the ‘Machu Picchu’ station, the two trains ‘IncaRail’ and ‘PeruRail’ use the same tracks and stations throughout the trip, in these 6 days that we have been on, I had the opportunity to share and talk with almost all the people on our tourist bus, I felt the warmth of a family without being with my family and together with the landscapes, that was really very nice and I carry it in my heart, too. What to say, right? This is from the following video, the second part that covers the trip from days 7 to 12, grateful to God, to life, to the entire ‘Alex Tour’ family of our guides, to all the people who assisted us and, also, grateful to all my dear travel companions, thank you for tuning in. I hope you have enjoyed this film very, very much, this super long video, but beautiful . May God bless you a lot, may you have beautiful moments in your life and may this be a light, a hope and a caress if you are having a bad day . Bye, may you be very, very, very well!

  7. Fascinante aventura! Nos encantó desde el principio al fin! Felicidades y gracias por compartirla!
(Could you please stop saying: "Life is too short"? We need you alive for a very, very long time!)
