$400 Kobe Beef Steak and the Japanese Food Tour in Osaka 🇯🇵 S8 EP 107 | Pakistan to Japan Motorcycle

Assalam U Alikum Everyone. Welcome back to the channel from Osaka. Osaka is not only the second largest city in Japan. The population of Osaka is about 3.8 million. Osaka is also famous for being the food capital of Japan. The area where I am right now is called Shinsaibashi. Shopping, food and all the tourist activities can be seen in this area. It’s morning time. So you won’t be able to see the liveliness here. You will see the liveliness and people everywhere in the evening. Mostly people have gone to work. Because today is Monday. I am planning to have a tour of authentic Japanese food. Including breakfast, lunch, dinner and some snacks. Personally, I am not a food vlogger. But as a traveler, whenever I go somewhere, I always taste the local food there. So that I can share it with you. And can also experience the food here. Because food is a big part of every culture. No matter where you go in the world. I am not alone today. I have Ali with me. Assalam o Alaikum. Ali is popular among the Pakistani community. Along with that, he owns a restaurant. Yes Sir. It’s a Pakistani Michelin star restaurant. Having worked in Shinsaibashi for 15 years makes me proud. Since he also has food experience. So, I thought to visit some historical sites of Osaka. And also explore the food here. Let’s go Sir and show you the liveliness of Osaka. Osaka is the capital of food. The people here are also very kindhearted. There is a Punjabi saying, Lahore is a must see spot. In the same way, it is said about Osaka. That Osaka is a must see place. Okay, this is only about the Japanese. So we have come to a Japanese restaurant called Sokia for breakfast. And if you look, it is written that it is open for almost 24 hours. It is closed for only one hour. It’s a small restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. Because they are cost effective and open for 24 hours. That’s why a lot of people come. It’s a decent place to sit. We had already ordered food here. So it has been served. I think they must have taken hardly 5 minutes. They prepared the breakfast and served it. So now let’s show you what we got for breakfast. What’s the name of this set, Ali? This is Sakala Theshok Set. Let it be. Even I will not be able to pronounce its name. This is Salmon Fish. This is egg. Is this raw? This is raw egg. We have okra here. This is their soup. I have had it many times before. Rice and vegetables. Sort of like radish. And here is seaweed. Here is seaweed. This is fish. I think this is its skin. Dry fish. OK And yours is also similar? No, mine is a little different. I have ordered the most famous food of Japan. Because 80% of Japanese people eat it in their homes. It is called natto. Natto? It’s called Natto and it is eaten with a lot of effort. First of all, you have to… They have packed it nicely. Yes, you have to press it like this. Aha. Put it in a corner. This natto seems very strange. Is it frozen? Yes, it is frozen. Getting the sauce out of the packet. The real work starts now. Hold the chopstick. And mix it? No. You don’t need to mix it. You have to hold it like this. Okay. And you have to mix it like this. Now you can… Are there beans in Natto? Yes. There are. Which beans? A sort of kidney beans. Personally, I think the food here is very different. Compared to what we eat. Let’s see how much I can eat. But we’ll try at least. Now I didn’t order Natto. But Ali tells me I have to try this. So why not! I don’t eat raw eggs in the morning or anyway. Even half fry is okay. And I can eat fish. But I think okra is almost ready. I can just try this okra and see it is ripe. I think it is unripe. Slightly cooked. Boiled. But it is really cold. But you still get the taste. And to be honest, I can eat this with rice. But not this sticky thing. Let’s try. Ya Allah! It feels a little strange. It feels like it is sticking to your tongue. I don’t think I’ll enjoy eating that. Now this raw egg I have to eat it too. Let’s see how our experience goes. Many people, especially those who go to the gym, are very fond of eating raw eggs. Soya sauce Don’t want any problems at all. Showcasing Japanese food and all. Sometimes, you do some things for the video and end up regretting. The raw egg is not bad. Actually, the soya sauce has changed its taste a lot. But Natto is the weirdest thing so far for us. One at a time. This is the main shopping street of Shinsaibashi. I think it is about a kilometer long. 3 km? Okay. May be because I just walked a kilometer. But Ali here is telling us that it is 3 km. The entire area is covered. It is sunny and hot during the day. So it is very easy. They’ve maintained temperature here. So you can comfortably walk here. And can buy anything you want. Because many tourists come to Osaka to shop. Especially Chinese. That’s why you will see this rush here. And now we have reached a very famous place here. It is called Jidotanbori. During mornings here.. You won’t see the same liveliness as you do in the evening when all the lights are on. But still, the weather is very good today. And we can see a lot of life around us. This here is an iconic place. If you think of Osaka, you will definitely hear the name of Dotonbori. So I think this is the street between Namba and Shinsaibashi. This is known as the Gullico Man of the Olympics. Gullico is a company here. When the first Olympics were held in Japan in 1964, they created this character who is running. Initially, it was just a painting. Then it became digital. Now it’s all digitized. It’s called the Gullico Man. I got a lot of requests to go to this shop. The line is still small here. Unitsuka Tiger shoes. I don’t know why the world likes them. I have never seen them. So let’s go to the shop and see what kind of shoes they have. And I will show you too. If I like something I might as well buy it. Thank God, the line is not too long today. I tried this one. And found it very comfortable. This is blue and white. Blue is my football team. I am also running a BMW. So this is also matching. Let’s see. Actually, I noticed that it is comfortable and very light. You will know when you wear it. It’s a little different. Normally, I wear waterproof shoes as a traveler. And I wear the same here. Both work. Normally, people say that… Because personally, I go out only for travel. The only luggage I have is the one on the motorcycle. Only the things that are necessary. After this tour of Japan, I can take all these things with me when I go home. That’s why I said let’s buy things. We are done shopping. I bought two pairs. For 28,000 yen after tax. There is 10% tax here. If you are a tourist, they’ll instantly refund after seeing your passport. I got one pair for 97.5 USD. When you convert 14,000 yen. But these are cheap in Japan. If you go out of Japan, you will find these very expensive. Time to go. We found a traditional Japanese restaurant. These are small restaurants. This is also a small one. And it’s full at the moment. I’ll keep it close to you. We have our lunch here. What’s the name of this? It’s called Yakisoba. Soba. Isn’t soba soup? Soba is noodles. Yaki means fried. Fried noodles. There are shrimps inside. What’s that thing on top? It looks like something else. It’s dried fish. They put these thin shavings of the fish. What’s this red thing? It’s ginger. Red ginger. I see. Take as much as you can fit in your plate. Are there only shrimps inside? Yes, only shrimps. No other seafood? It’s good. I liked it more than breakfast. We had natto for breakfast. It was difficult to eat natto in the morning. But I can eat these noodles. So here comes our Okonomiyaki. Tell me about it. Is that an egg at the bottom? Okonomiyaki is a vegetable pizza. It’s made of cabbage. Is it only available in vegetables? Or you can choose other toppings as well? You can choose other toppings as well as shrimps. Japanese pizza. We have entered a shopping mall. You can see the world’s most expensive fruits here. These are the cheapest ones which cost 4000 Yen. Look at this. It’s decorated like this. You’re not supposed to touch it. Sorry. 12,960 yen for this small watermelon. If you double it, that’s the price in PKR of 1 watermelon. Look at that. We won’t eat it. Will just look at it. You can see the mangoes here. It’s 2160 yen for one mango. That means around 4,500 rupees for one mango. I don’t know what’s so special about it. Here’s a papaya. It costs 1,620 Yen. This one must be for 1200-1300 Yen. There are even more expensive stuff. Look at this. This strawberry is for 6,000 Yen. And there are only 8-10 pieces. Look at this. Grapes. 11,000 Yen for this package. It’s not even 1 kg. And this is 12,000 Yen. What is this? Has to be something special about these. Look at this mango. It’s 4,320 yen for one mango. That means one mango for 10,000 rupees. That one is just crazy. 16,200 Yen. These are two mangoes. You’ll pay 35,000 PKR for two mangoes. Apricots… May God bless you. It’s 7,500 Yen. Look at this. 5 peaches for almost 13000 Yen. I don’t know who buys from here. I’m sure some people do. Here they have a complete set for 18,822 Yen. Grape, mango and watermelon. We forgot to tell you that this is the most expensive watermelon in the world. It’s 25,000 Yen. Or 50,000 Pakistani rupees. Amazing. I thought we’ll get one or two pieces. They sell a whole cake. We got coffee with it. How do we eat it? Do we eat it with our hands? Let’s take it out. Let’s see. Saga’s famous cheesecake. The shop we bought from is the most famous cheesecake shop here. But the main shopping street was very crowded. We can see people waiting till the entrance of the mall. It’s not very sweet. I think it’s enough for 3 to 4 people. This is a must-eat. If you are in Osaka, you must try it. We have just reached the castle by metro from Osaka city center. Let me tell you that the public transportation system here is very good. Mostly the areas are well connected. I have visited Osaka a couple of times and it was very good. This park is so huge. You can see that there are so many people in the city. But when you reach here, you feel so peaceful. Osaka castle in front of us. Let me show you that. I was recording and some locals were watching what I was doing. You can see that all the castles, including the one in Tokyo and Sapporo, are protected by the water surrounding the castle. You can see that there are boats for tourists. There is a bridge connecting the castle. This is the beautiful castle of Osaka in front of us. You can see five floors here. But the first floor is very unique. Huge stones are used here. The upper floor is similar but the base is different. This is one of the most important castles in Japan. Most of the castles in the world were built by the kings. But this is the first time I have heard this about a castle. That this castle was built by a powerful warlord in 1583. The castle saw many wars and fires. So it got destroyed a few times. Especially in World War II. So it was rebuilt. It is a very beautiful castle. Most of the castles in Japan will be similar to each other. There are a lot of castles here. But I always try to visit unique ones. We have come to a traditional Japanese restaurant to have dinner. We have come to Osaka and I don’t know if we will get a chance later. So I thought to try Kobe beef here. When I was searching on the internet, I couldn’t find many options where Halal Kobe beef is served. So I requested Ali and he brought me to a restaurant called Korin. They have shared the certificate with us. She also brought Kobe beef when I was making the video. That’s what Kobe beef looks like. We have to call them in advance and tell them that we want Halal Kobe beef. Because they may not have Halal Kobe beef all the time. You can say that this is a very traditional restaurant. There is a tradition in Japan that you have to take off your shoes when you go to someone’s house. So they have made a place where you can take off your shoes. There is a hole under the table. So that you can sit comfortably. As if you are sitting on a chair or a bench. So let’s see what kind of experience we have with Kobe beef. Because Kobe beef is a 23-24 billion dollar industry in Japan. And in the next few years, it will reach 40 billion dollars. So you can imagine how big this industry is. So let’s see what kind of experience we have. So we have the appetizer. These are salad leaves. What is this? Chicken And this? This is egg roll. What is this? This is tofu salad. And this? This is the cream on top of the tofu. Okay. Bismillah. This is the cream on top of the tofu. It is very delicious. I like it very much. Okay, let’s try it. Wasabi? Yes. This is made from the skin of the shark. From what? From the skin of the shark. You make it by rubbing it. This is the skin of the shark. So they have brought the whole chili like wasabi. Actually, wasabi is a type of wood. Okay, it’s basically made of wood. It’s made of wood. It’s like a branch. It’s thin and soft. You rub it on top of it. Like grating. Shall we try? Sure look at the wasabi. Normally, we have the paste. Sashimi. This is sashimi. I think there is salmon in it. There it is. Is this salmon? Yes. I don’t know the name of this fish. This is tuna. Isn’t this tuna? Yes, this is tuna. Okay, this is tuna. The other one is different. Is this radish? Yes, it’s radish. Japanese radish. Look, it’s so beautiful. The food here is very tasty. All of these are raw. You have to eat this flower by rubbing it on top of it. You have to take it off like this. Okay, this flower too. They are taking it off and putting it on top. These are edible flowers. Okay. What is this? It’s a fish. I see. Grilled fish. This is called saba. Saba, right? See, at first we had a raw fish. They have brought grilled fish now. But is there a difference in the lemongrass? Yes, it’s its roots. Alright, full marks for the presentation. At least the food here looks good. Look, we now have Japanese fritters, which are called tempura here. This is the vegetable type. This one is seafood; shrimp. This is okra. And I think this is potato below. This is sweet potato. So, they have given this radish along with it. The fish is very good. It’s grilled, right? This is very delicious. If you eat it without salt, you will love it. It’s dry. So now we have Kobe beef here. Check it out. There is a corncob as well. It’s being served with two or three different sauces. They have brought it to us. But they told us that they have cooked it a little. And we have to cook the rest. Let’s try a small piece. Let’s see. Kobe beef, the most expensive beef in the world. Let’s see what it tastes like. Taste wise, it really makes a difference, because the texture of the fat in it, the one I ate yesterday, it has a very similar taste. To be honest, I can’t tell the difference between Takayama A5 and this one. Both are high quality beefs. But I can’t tell the difference, if they were in front of me and I’m eating. Most likely I won’t be able to tell the difference. An expert may tell the difference. Our dinner was very good. Some of you might like to know the price of our dinner. We ordered two courses, one with chicken and the stuff that came with it. Like fish. It was 5000 yen per person, and the Kobe beef that we ate, we ordered a total of 150 grams. It was 24,500 Yen, it would be around 160-170 USD, I think… But if you buy tenderloin, it would be 59,000 Yen, that would be around 400 USD for 150 grams. So the difference is obvious. And this is such a big industry. So the margins… What I asked here, they only serve Halal. At first, I thought they serve both Halal and Non-Halal. So whenever I go to a restaurant, there is a big difference. Halal is a somewhat expensive. And the reason is, Wagyu or even Kobe beef, the quantity is less in Halal. Since the demand is more. the prices go up. So you will have to ask in restaurants. Our dinner is not over yet. We were leaving, but she brought cheesecake for us. And along with it… OMG It’s the local melon. And apricots. And cherries too. I don’t know how expensive it would be. After what we saw today… my respect for fruits in Japan has increased. And especially in our Pakistan, fruits are really cheap. Green tea Our cheesecake is here. With a little cream. Very good. Believe me… here, watermelon That’s luxury. Really people are not respecting it. but in Japan, if you are visiting someone… when you want to give someone a gift, they mostly take fruits. Because fruits are so expensive. Oh well, let’s eat and see, if there is any difference from the ones in Pakistan. I don’t think there is a lot of difference. I don’t know if it is the one that costs 10,000 Yen. But even the minimum price in the market is not less than 4,000 to 4,500 Yen. So, my experience dictates that this one tastes the same as the ones in Pakistan. Man, She drew my motorcycle, Rangeeli. But Rangeeli is not here. She has reached. Thank you so much.
