We Climbed To The Most Dangerous Volcano In Central America 🇬🇹 IT ERUPTED!

Welcome to Guatemala. We started this
journey in Antigua. If you want to see part one of the series don’t miss it. But
blood sweat and tears to get up here. But also you can watch this video and it’s
going to be a pretty sweet because we’re already looking at Fuego right now. We
just arrived. Yeah. We’re starting to reach the base camps now. Yes. Ours should
be soon. Oh yeah. So we can give you guys a perfect view of Fuego which
unfortunately is not erupting right now. Not erupting. It’s a little covered but
usually it erupts often. I think we have a really good forecast for tomorrow morning.
We start hiking at four in the morning and go up here. Way up here we go four
thousand meters above sea level to watch Fuego. So we’ll be like maybe 200 meters
higher than Fuego. Yeah. Watching the sunrise. So if there’s no eruptions at
least we have a beautiful sunrise. Yeah. And food. I mean like. Yeah so tonight we
got dinner, marshmallows, hot cocoa, everything. This is very luxury. The food
on this tour has been immaculate. There is no other group to book. we’re booked
with Tropicana hostel. Yeah. Check out all the details in the first video.
Everything. Yeah. Outstanding. Yeah. No complaints. It’s been mint. It is a hard
hike though. Not sponsored. No. But make sure to be ready for it. Or get your eyes ready for it. See our
struggle through our eyes. Yeah. You can just live virtually through us if you’re
not coming to Guatemala. Yeah. Use your last little bit of energy. I know. So the
last little bit is 30 minutes of flat. So we’re high spirits. You start seeing the
base camps and you know. You know the end is near for today. There is. Unless you’re
going to Fuego. There is a whole nother hike. You can pay the guides. And if six
of you go I think it’s about 200 each. For the go-getters. And uh I think they go
like you better have a headlamp you could rent it at the start. And you’re gonna go
and be pretty much right there on an active volcano. Look at it right now. She’s a beaut. Look at all the cool
different styles that all these campsites have. Here we have the uh private. We have
the private. There’s the VIP flash packer and backpacker I think it is. There’s the
VIP package. You’re still sharing a place but it has a like very nice panorama view.
But you know the sun will be setting and you’ll be kind of having a panorama view
of darkness. And then and then you kind of leave early in the morning. So not trying
to uh steer you from that. But if you want a private bunk that’s that’s the best
option. Good job. Thank you. The guys guides here are so awesome. Like they’re a
little cheeky sometimes too. They’re little jokesters too. So it’s pretty
sweet. The Aussie gang. If you guys don’t do the Fuego hike. Yeah.
We should take your GoPro. Yeah. Just take take all the horizontal footage. Look
at Fuego. So I think we’ve made it. I didn’t even know. It’s pretty sweet. Our
camp kind of just jumped up on us. I thought we were gonna go farther. Look at that. Really the cloud cover adds
such an effect to it. Everyone’s contemplating right now with the cloud
cover if they actually want to do the hike because they’ve heard that sometimes at
base camp they get a better view and then you walk all the way over there you might
not see it. So a lot of people tossing it up. Here’s some of the shared cabins. So a
really cool thing when they fed us breakfast they had a bunch of nuts. I
don’t know if you’re supposed to take this many but here we are. When we left there
were still huge jars of nuts. I know. So they’re really good. Like these little
sesame kind of candied nuts. We’re all just kind of chilling here. Giving up our
rations. Our water rations. They’re gonna do noodle cups. Did he say they were gonna
eat dinner before they go? No they do noodle cup and then rip and then eat
dinner when they come back. People are gearing up to do fuego. I think people are
doing it. I think people are really they’ve gotten up here they see it the
clouds are dispersing. Some people heading back. Said it was a once in a lifetime
like really really really cool. So I think some people have been convinced by the
people from last night. Did they just people were walking by and they asked
them? It was him. The guy with the red bandana who had someone do that. Really? I
don’t think he was gonna go and then he’s changed his mind. Just put your stuff
there and back here for like 10 minutes. I love how he says noodles. You put your
stuff over there and then you eat the noodles. So we’re socked in again. I’ll be
very impressed with the people who go to fuego. Shelby and I are gonna enjoy our
I’m gonna call it vip it’s not vip our private vip cabin. And that’s the ****ter down there. We’re
actually quite far from the other guys. Yeah what the hell man. You know what’s
wild with the world we live in? I’ve been able to get not 4g but 3g once in a blue
moon. So if you just want to kind of like check an app it’s quite wild. You can be
almost 4,000 meters above sea level and still get in cell service. That’s through
Airalo by the way. I have no idea how that porter hiked up the mountain. With your
bag? Oh perfect gracias. Look at this. This is adorable. Yeah. So this is our cabin. Yeah baby. The bed
here. Oh yeah it’s very spacious. Hook here. Love you to the moon and back. We
got storage. Yep. This is so cute. And this is the view. Oh yeah. Thank you. Yeah we are not doing the hike if you can
catch the vibes. We’re gonna roast those marshmallows and we’re gonna roast them
good. We’re gonna chill. Well it’s like right now it’s… If you do the
calculations of the time they’re not they’re not getting back about maybe even
10. Like and then there’s sunrise we start at four or or whatever they’re not gonna
get like maybe four. It’s worth it. It really is. Like if you were really wanting
to do it. Yeah. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. I feel like if you’re on the
fence do it but if you’re not on the fence. Shelby and I are uh quite proud
that we even just did this. Honestly yeah. Yeah so. Like I’m like super happy with
this. And check this out. Yeah. Man we got extra like so what is it like sleeping
bags and extra. I think we got hooked up because like I was looking and I showed
you guys the shared cabins. I think they only have a sleeping bag. So we’re not
gonna be cold in here. Other guys have sleeping bags too. Yeah. I’m just saying
everyone gets sleeping bags but we have the extra layers. Yeah. For our private
cabin. Yeah. Check this out. Above the clouds. So amazing. Cute little cabins.
They all have little wreaths. There’s Shelby getting geared up. Put some pants
on. Geez. I feel like we’re kind of like isolated over here. A
little bit. Everybody’s all by the campsite and we’re all the way over here.
Yeah so the campsite for all everyone else is way over here. It looks like we’re on
the freaking clouds right now. I know look at it. It’s it’s heaven. Heaven on earth.
It really is. I’m hoping Shelby will get ready soon so
we can have a salty noodle cup. And I have uh made the pants. Not having the backpack
is so wonderful. I am way lighter. Look at this. Oh my goodness. We almost have our
own little fire pit over here. I don’t know if it’ll get lit but there’s a
machete too. Look at that ****. Hey little girl. Hey little girl. You do
as I told. Huh? Shelbs? You do as I tell you. Shelby. Shelby show me your noodles for a
second. Show me your noodles. Look at these noodles. Sweetie. Oh sorry. Show me
these noodles. Oh this is the noodles. I want to show quality control and then look
at mine. What the heck happened here? How about you? Not bad. Not bad. I think I
got, I got no liquid. Oh no. Oh well. Put some cold water in it. Let me see. Are
yours still soft? Huh? Chili? Thanks babe. I can put more liquid in Get all the chili in town. You better. Yeah. You didn’t do it if
there’s no freaking pictures man. No video. 10 out of 10. You want chili? No. I didn’t
get the chili. Bueno. I said no. No yeah. You’re going for the spice
tonight? Yeah. This is uh really nice and warm. I left my jacket at the cabin so I’m
gonna have to go get that. But there’s something about having a nice salty warm
noodle cup. All right guys. We’re getting some sun
now. It was kind of cloudy for a little while. This is the crew. Yeah. We got a pretty awesome crew here and
we’re just chilling, chatting, vibing. I’m gonna get some wine. This is the non fuego
crew. This is the non fuego crew aka the best crew. As you can see the view of
Fuego is fantastic. Yes. Fuego is here. Everyone else is lost over there in the
clouds. All right. This toque is stylish. Not looking good. You guys I cannot get
over what’s happening right now. This is so cool looking. The clouds are going so
fast and it literally looks like they’re falling. Oh my god. Beautiful. Yeah. It’s
super cool. We have like a little noodle cup which was really delicious. Like
honestly all the food that we’ve had today has been so good. And I recommend bringing
extra snacks because like we had a good breakfast. We had a good lunch. We had a
noodle cup. Chase and I had trail mix. We had a granola bar. I’m still feeling
hungry. We’re gonna get dinner later but I’m like you expend a lot of energy. I
checked on my apple watch and we’re at like 20,000 steps. Most of that is
incline. So make sure to bring all the snacks because it is no joke. But see just
like that the sun is gone and it’s cloudy again. It’s like the scenery is changing
so much. It’s so cool. So we’ve got a liter of wine over here. It’s actually
really good. I don’t think I’ve ever seen It’s really nice. What’s the terroir of
close wine? That’s amazing. Wine on top of a volcano. In a curtain. It doesn’t get better
than that. No. Oh my god I love that so much. It’s the small things. Yeah it’s the
small things. I’m freezing. But check this. Check the sunrise or the sunset out.
It’s epic up here. Epic. I feel for the boys and girls who did the
fuego hike because wow it was a freaking cold right now. Oh no. No you can fill them in. Death row
meals and dessert. And dessert spicy greens butter chicken. I did Thai food. Yeah. And I didn’t do a
dessert but uh you know. Yeah I need to get my other layer of pants
and I think that’s about all I have. So hopefully that’s good. This is insane. We’re heading to gear up
and put our final layers on. Hey I’m gonna warn you. I freaking ran back last time.
It’s a bad idea. At four thousand. No four thousand meters. I freaking. I couldn’t
recover. I actually took a freaking little fainty poo on the bed. The toilet paper’s
up in a room when you come back. This is crazy. We’re going to Narnia up over here.
Geez. I’m serious about this running thing though. It took my breath away last time. Damn. Going for a jog. This is freaking insane. No. I’m just not comfortable. No. Luckily
we’re lame and we’ll go to bed early. Holy. Oh my god. That’s brutal. This is crazy. So
you’ll. That’s why I wanted to record this because it just disappears and you have to
really appreciate it when it’s here because you never know when it’ll be full
cloud cover. Damn. So a lot of people are taking
altitude sickness pills like they brought them. Would have been good to know. I’m trying not to breathe heavy so you can
hear the birds and the wind. But wow. I don’t do as good as Shelby with the
altitude. She’s just like she rocks it. Makes me look like horrible with my
altitude sickness. You can just do these things. I got a freaking headache. I ran
again. Stupid idea. I can’t get over it. This is so so nice
right here. It’s mystical. You can smell the clouds as they go by. Look at that.
Just freaking socked in now. Insane. You know I know it’d be cool to be like a
perfectly clear day but there’s something about it being like this. And I’m freaking shaking man. You ready?
Hey chased? I’m ready. I got three pairs of socks on. Oh. Two pairs of leggings on.
One pair of track pants. One pair of jogging pants. So four pants. Yeah. One
black shirt long sleeve. Two black shirt long sleeve. Putting a t-shirt over top
and then putting on my hoodie and a jacket. If you’re gonna do this it does
get cold. Oh lightning. I know. It started way
earlier. Oh. Beautiful. All right guys. Fuego erupted. It wasn’t a big erupt. It
was just like a little like. Yeah I don’t I don’t even think I could have it on the
footage. I tried. We saw a little a little red. In person it’s really cool but on
footage. Yeah. We just um. I’m freezing. My *** off. We just had. We got
our blankets and everything. We got blankets over here. Layers on. It’s
flipping cold. But we just finished dinner. I was so excited for chicken thigh
you guys. It said we got chicken thigh. It was the chicken breast was so dry. I’m
not complaining. The vegetables and potatoes were good but I was choking the
chicken down and I was so ready for like a juicy chicken thigh and all the food has
been like accurate so far and I was like oh I’m gonna sink. I know. Chicken thigh.
And it was like so. And the chicken was just so dry. And I was like it’s fine
though. We’re on a volcano. What do you expect? Yep. Everything else is good.
We’re supposed to get like hot chocolate and marshmallows I think. Everybody’s
getting wine. We don’t. We’re not drinking wine. So I’m like caliente chocolate.
Yeah. That would be so good. With due time. Yes. Just saying. It’s just like.
It’s good vibes. You can see everyone hiking down. Yeah. Which lucky them
because. I think everyone here was like yay we stayed. Everyone’s like so glad we
stayed. I hope that they honestly had like a good time though. Yeah. Because that
would suck if they didn’t and they went all the way there. But it did erupt so
like I’m sure hopefully they saw something. Yeah. We’ll see when they get
back. I’m not sure how long. Because it’s been I mean it’s probably like I don’t
know what time it is now. 7:30 and they left at like 5. They might not be back
for another one or two hours. An hour, hour and a half. Probably hour and a half.
Something like that but. I’m like. I’m going to be going to bed early to try to
get some heat in our little cabin. Because I’m just like. I’m still rocking hardcore
headache from the altitude. Yeah. Things are. Yeah. We’re feeling. Things are
starting to feel a little rocky. A little. 4 a.m wake up is the thing that I just
keep reminding myself. Don’t even think. I can’t. I can’t even think about it. Well I
just mean there’s no way in hell I’m missing it. Sunrise you know. Here we are.
Snug as a bug in a rug. Yeah. Oh man it is no joke cold. It’s no joke cold. But uh.
Take all the things. Take gloves. Well whatever. If you ever did this hike.
Whatever your backpack permits. Gloves are necessary. Gloves, toque, jacket, pants,
layers. Take it all. I’m doing it without gloves. It’s slight regret. It was a
really tiring day but super fun and our group was really fun and everything was
good. So I took some epic pictures. I don’t even think you can see it with your
eyes how good these pictures look of Fuego and the starlight. So those will be up on
the screen and stuff. Yeah. We’re gonna go to bed because we have an early wake up. 3:30.
Yeah. A couple hours. Five hours. Six hours till we’re waking up. Yeah. And then
an hour and a half to the summit. Um watch the sunset. It’s gonna be sunrise.
Sunrise. It’s gonna be epic. I’m so tired. It’s gonna be good. I’m telling you. I
hope so. It’s gonna be the best sunrise ever. I’m so exhausted honestly. So get
hyped. It’s coming right around the corner. We’re not eating anything.
Tomorrow morning you’ll see maybe a few little shuffles of morning movement and
then you’ll see the sunrise. Yeah. I’m I’m like not even taking my makeup off. We like just brushing my teeth and that was it.
Yeah. It’s nighttime but okay I’ll see you in the morning. All right it is morning
time. Shelby didn’t sleep at all. She’s super nauseous so I’m heading to the camp
solo today. It’s about 3:45 in the morning right now. It’s looking decently clear out. If you take the
picture of the volcano again it still shows lava spewing so you can’t see it on
video but I have a few uh pictures of it exploding right there. Super super good.
Well we have a surprise. Shelby has come. She’s getting some pills for her stomach.
And uh we’re heading up here. That’s the spirit honey. Got a dog helping us get up this morning.
Doing the morning hike. So as we head up the mountain we’ve seen Fuego erupt maybe
like three times now. Perfect shot of it up here on the hill. That’s a crazy view of Fuego right there.
As the sun’s coming up. Shelby’s tired. I am too. Almost there though. This one’s not active though and the
crater’s right over here. This one, if you saw the first video, this one it branched
out. This is one of the tips of two. Oh yeah. Thank you. Look at that. It’s worth it. Anything you have to say to the camera?
No. No. Honestly I was not feeling good. Did you fill them in? Yeah. I was not feeling
good last time. Last night I was like you know what we’re doing this. We’re here. We
made it. Maybe had a random bano break on the volcano. Maybe had a bathroom
break on the volcano. Won’t talk about it though. My ears are like, is that altitude sickness?
your ears? It’s the cold but we just booked it so I’m
sure you’re feeling something. Fuego doing some erupting right now with
the most perfect sunrise. Oh this is a very challenging journey but
once you’re here 4,000 meters up it’s worth it. Little Shelby. oh my god I can’t. You know I can’t
believe I made it up here. I was laying in bed and it was like 3:50 everyone was
leaving at 4 and I was like getting my sleeping bag and I just like and I just
put all my shoes ran out the door. And got that pill. Wow. Look at the landscape here. It’s
insane. Oh and then even Fuego is even more smoky. You’re going to have to give it time.
It’s slow right now. Okay. Yeah. Fuego in the background. A beautiful
sunrise. I think we’re gonna end it here. We just get a little snackaroo breakfast
before heading down. The same way we came up on the first video. So if you like
