In this video, we will introduce “Aston at the Waikiki Banyan”, a child-friendly condominium that is now attracting attention due to the weak yen and high prices ! This time we stayed in Hawaii for two weeks and spent 10 days of that at Waikiki Banyan. All rooms have full kitchens and balconies, and you can stay at a cheaper price than a hotel, so this condominium is especially recommended for those who want to “keep costs as low as possible” , “travel like they live”, and “stay for a long time” ! Waikibanyan is in a great location, just a 5-minute walk from Kuhio Beach , and a 10-minute walk from the Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani Park. The Pink Trolley stop is also in front of the hotel, so it is very convenient to access DFS and Ala Mona Center . There is also a BIKI right in front of the hotel, so it is also recommended to rent a bicycle and cycle along the Ala Wai Canal and around Waikiki Beach ! Waikiki Banyan is divided into Tower 1 and Tower 2, Tower 1 has an ocean view and Tower 2 has a mountain view. Let’s start with Tower 1, where we stayed this time! If you turn right from the lobby towards Tower 1, there are not many books, but there is a shelf where books are borrowed for free, and next to it there is an ATM machine, so you don’t have to go to the bank when you need cash. There is a toilet on the other side. There is a coffee shop to the right of the elevator that seems to sell light snacks. There is a small shop to the left of the elevator, so it is convenient even if it is a bit of a hassle to go to ABC Store! It is open from 8:30 in the morning to 10:00 at night. There are a total of four elevators, and if there is no construction, the waiting time is not that long. The walls are decorated with old photos and paintings of Oahu, so you can spend the waiting time without getting bored. The elevator has been renewed and is a touch panel type. By the way, surfboards can be stored in the room, and we were able to load two 9.1ft longboards into the elevator at the same time. The 6th floor of Tower 1 is a shared area. If you get off the elevator and go straight, you will see a large plaza and a jacuzzi, pool shower, and beach beds lined up on the right . There is a children’s playground in front, so even families with children can spend the day here without worry. On the left side there is a tennis court and a barbecue deck with 10 seats. The barbecue deck can be used for two hours for eight 25-cent coins, or two dollars. To the right of the elevator there are clean toilets and changing rooms, as well as a sauna room. The sauna room is locked, so you can use it by telling the reception staff in front of the elevator your room number and name. When it’s chilly after coming up from the sea, it feels great to go into the sauna or jacuzzi! Next, let’s take a look at the rooms! Here’s the room in Tower 1 where we stayed. You can see Kuhio Beach from the terrace. You can also see a little bit of the mountain to the right, and the night view is very beautiful. There was a box of macadamia chocolates on the table. The sofa is fluffy and can be used as a bed. There are two twin beds, next to which there is a closet, iron, and security box. There is also a sink , toilet, and bathroom. Amenities include Hawaiian Tropic shampoo, conditioner, body soap , and body cream . And this is where the real fun of a condominium begins! The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, rice cooker, coffee maker, dishes, and cutlery, so if you bring rice, instant miso soup, seasonings, etc. from Japan, you can cook your own meals anytime! Hawaiian coffee, tea, dish soap, and sponges are also provided. Eating out every time during a long stay can be quite expensive, so when we missed Japanese food, we ate the rice, miso soup, and somen noodles that we brought with us. We made rice balls and sandwiches and had a picnic. Kapiolani Park is nearby, so it’s very pleasant to take a walk and have a picnic. Next, let’s take a look at the Mauka Tower in Tower 2. There are two outdoor machines near the left side of the elevator on the first floor. There are washing machines and dryers on each floor, and they require 25-cent coins, so if you don’t have coins, you can exchange them here. On the fifth floor, there is the housekeeping office. If you need a pool towel, run out of coffee, detergent, tissues, or if you want extra towels, you can go and get them yourself. You can also ask the front desk to bring them to you, but be sure to pay a tip in that case. You can fill out your room number and name at the office desk and receive them. It’s a bit of a hassle to go from Tower 1 to Tower 2 every time, so we went to get extra bath towels and toilet paper at one time. Next , I’ll introduce the parking lot. The entrance and exit to the parking lot are one-way. Please note that the exit is next to the lobby and the entrance is on the Kuhio Avenue side. There is a security staff on duty 24 hours a day. Please be careful as there is a height limit. The parking fee will probably vary depending on the reservation company, but it is usually about 6,000 yen per day and about 33,000 yen per week. Since we rented the room from a private owner, we received a free parking pass when we checked in. Make sure to attach the pass to a visible place such as the rearview mirror of the car. If you want to temporarily park your car to load or unload your luggage, you can call out to the security staff and park temporarily for up to 15 minutes. The parking lot is quite narrow, so please be careful when passing oncoming cars. Finally, I would like to end this video with a video of a walk from Waikiki Banyan to Kapiolani Park! The hotel is full service, so it is very convenient and clean. In comparison, condominiums may be a little old and inconvenient, but if you usually stay at a hotel, please consider staying at a condominium next time! Unlike a hotel, you can spend your time as if you are living there, and it will definitely be a different Hawaii stay from your usual Hawaii!
