新宿の風物詩！花園神社の例大祭で、日本の伝統と活気を体感しませんか？新宿の総鎮守として、古くは徳川家康の江戸開府以前からこの地を見守り続けてきた花園神社。その年に一度の最も重要なお祭りが例大祭です。
かつて慣れ親しんだ祭りの賑わい、威勢のいい神輿の掛け声、そして懐かしい露店の数々。まさに日本の原風景ともいえる光景が、大都会新宿の中心で繰り広げられます。
見どころは、なんといっても勇壮な神輿渡御。年によって本社神輿・雷電神輿の渡御（表年）、あるいは氏子八ヶ町の町会神輿連合渡御（陰年）が行われ、新宿の街を練り歩きます。その迫力と一体感は、見る者の心を揺さぶります。また、境内や参道には100店以上ともいわれる露店が軒を連ね、お囃子の音色とともに祭り気分を盛り上げます。
商売繁盛、開運出世、芸能成就など、多岐にわたるご利益でも知られる花園神社。お参りはもちろん、歴史ある神社の厳かな雰囲気の中で、日々の喧騒を忘れてみてはいかがでしょうか。

Reiwa 7th Hanazono Shrine Annual Festival – Kage Festival

A seasonal feature of Shinjuku! Experience Japanese tradition and vitality at the annual festival of Hanazono Shrine. Hanazono Shrine has been watching over this area as the main shrine of Shinjuku since before Tokugawa Ieyasu established the Edo shogunate. The annual festival is the most important festival held once a year.
The lively festivals that we were familiar with, the spirited shouts of the mikoshi, and the nostalgic street stalls. A scene that can be said to be the original landscape of Japan unfolds in the heart of the big city of Shinjuku.
The highlight is the heroic mikoshi procession. Depending on the year, the procession of the main shrine mikoshi and the Raiden mikoshi (Omote-nen), or the joint procession of the eight towns of the parishioners’ mikoshi (In-nen), will be held and parade through the streets of Shinjuku. The power and sense of unity of the event will move the hearts of all who see it. In addition, there are more than 100 stalls lined up within the grounds and along the approach to the shrine, and the sounds of traditional Japanese music will liven up the festival atmosphere.
