🇹🇭 Koh Kood [4K] A walking tour through Thailand’s untouched paradise 2025

Hello guys. Today we are heading to Koh Kood. Our journey begins at Bang Bao Pier on Koh Chang.
We used BOONSIRI, which cost 900 baht per person. This boat is considered a catamaran and has
two keels, which adds stability in the water. There are two departure times to choose from: 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The estimated travel time is 2 hours. Although the islands are located in the Gulf of Thailand, relatively close to the coast, the waves are quite large. The catamaran does not rock as much as a speedboat, but there is some spray. There is no rocking at all in the rear, even on the second deck. After almost 3 hours, we arrived at Koh Kood. We were met at the pier by travelers who were waiting for this ferry to return. The price also includes a transfer from the pier to the hotel. Most hotels are located on the opposite side of the island, and it can take
another hour to reach the furthest one, taking into account all the stops. As you can see, there is no public lighting here, and at night
you will have to rely solely on the headlights of your vehicle. Most hotels consist of separate houses and are only 3-star hotels. Koh Kood is also an island of palm trees and coconuts,
which are not always removed, even in public places. It is easy to find a hotel on the beachfront or with a sea view. Bang Bao Beach This beach is considered one of the three most
beautiful and popular beaches on the island. It has everything you need for a lazy vacation. The beautiful color of the water and the huge number of trees located
close to the water, providing shade, are the hallmarks of Koh Kood. An additional charm of this beach is the fact that it is enclosed on both sides. Due to the lack of depth for tens of meters from
the shore, there are many piers on the island. Most of them are very suitable for photos. From the end, you can jump into the water and quickly climb back up. The only infrastructure on most beaches is hotels and kayak/sap rentals. Sometimes you can find Thai massage and
very rare cafes, usually belonging to hotels. However, there are no noisy and active entertainment
options such as jet ski rentals or parasailing. Most resort areas in Thailand are quite developed, but Koh
Kood still retains the vibe of a peaceful tropical paradise. Sign at the entrance: DO NOT REMOVE YOUR SHOES Hidden Gem by Monkey bar Koh Kood Beer costs 80 baht, cocktails 180-260 baht,
and food costs 100-200 baht on average. There are a lot of berries falling from the trees underfoot. The beach is mostly sandy, but there are some large rocks in places. This means that there is a rich underwater world here. However, the main snorkeling spot is not
here, but at the far left end of the beach. It is an ideal place for a family vacation with children. It is worth noting that the island is not stagnating in its
development, and new hotels are periodically appearing here. To get to the main snorkeling spot on the
beach, you need to cross the iconic bridge. Here you will immediately be greeted by sea creatures. We got here after a storm, so the water is a little murky. If you need to take a break, be very careful where you step,
as the movement of the water can knock you off your feet. Despite the storm, the beach is very clean, and here’s why. Tourists staying on this beach help clean up the trash from the sea. If you stand still for a while, the fish will stop being afraid of you. The beach is located on the sunset side of the island, which adds to its appeal. The place where we stayed is called Ajinta Resort. It is the only hotel on the beach. Such places are for those who want maximum privacy. All beaches in Thailand are public and anyone can
visit this place, but there are not many people here. In fact, when staying at such a hotel, the entire beach belongs to you. Some bungalow-style rooms have their own swimming pool. Inside, there is a spacious living room-bedroom. The second room is a bathroom and dressing room. There is an open-air bathtub. Right in front of the hotel are picturesque rocks. The sandy beach begins a little to the side. Koh Kood is Thailand’s fourth-largest island, yet it remains largely undeveloped. Unlike many Thai islands, Koh Kood lacks vibrant
nightlife, offering a peaceful retreat. The weather in the tropics is quite unpredictable, and heavy rain with
thunderstorms can catch you even in the middle of the dry season. Koh Kood is often referred to as Thailand’s “last unspoiled island.” For example, shopping is represented by a few
boutiques with mainly beachwear, no brand-name stores. However, little by little, the infrastructure is making its way to the island. For example, some Thai banks are installing ATMs. There are signs in three languages: English, Russian, and German. Most cafes serve Thai food, but there are also
restaurants with a focus on European cuisine. Kood Vibes Bakery & Restaurant This is a great place if you miss your usual dishes while on vacation. These bowls are huge, and one is more than enough for a meal. The Thai cuisine cafes are also excellent. From the cozy interior to the delicious food. The signature bruschetta is 250 baht, originally 6 pieces. The soup with noodles and shrimp, 150 baht, deserves special attention. During the day, there are not many visitors in the cafe
because of the heat, but everything changes in the evening. In the evening, bats wake up and you can literally
hit them with your forehead when riding a bike. There is a device to call the waiter. Ao Taphao Beach This is another one of the three most popular beaches on the island. Ao Tapao Beach is known for its long stretch of soft sand and gentle waves. Due to several cafes on the shore, it may seem that the beach is livelier
than others, but in fact, this does not affect the calm vibe of the beach. Ko Kood remains one of the few places in
Thailand offering guests a true island getaway. This Beach has a large concrete pier where various cargo is delivered. Additional ATMs also contribute to the island’s amenities. If you plan to visit Koh Kood, I recommend
hurrying before the island becomes too developed. Khlong Chao Beach This is another of the three most popular beaches. The beach is located along the main road and can be considered the liveliest. The beach’s hallmark is two parallel rows of palm trees. This is the first time I’ve seen a relaxation area on a tree. It’s impossible to climb up, judging by the shoes left there. The island is a popular destination for honeymooners seeking solitude. Some people even hold wedding ceremonies here. It’s a really lovely place to spend time and unwind. The northern end has a peninsula resembling a small island,
perfect for exploring and capturing stunning photos. If you don’t have an umbrella with you, you
can always create shade from what’s available. Koh Kood has many small beaches with 1-2 hotels each. These beaches are not always sandy, but they are very secluded. Khlong Chao Waterfall It is easy to get here and admission is free. Khlong Chao Waterfall is one of the most popular natural attractions on Koh Kood. If you are staying in the center of the island, it will
not be difficult to reach the more remote beaches. Leave your bike at Seacret Kohkood Resort and continue on foot. Khlong Han Beach (Secret Sunset Beach) Lovely quiet beach. Very rustic. The island of Ko Raet is nearby. ou cannot walk there, but a kayak will help you get there. However, if you try, you can get quite far. On many beaches, including this one, storms wash away the roots
of trees, which is why there are trees hanging over the sea here. Hotels even tie palm trees so that they don’t fall. Ao Phrao Beach It is perfect for those seeking solitude and a break from crowded tourist spots. The beach has powdery white sand and shallow turquoise waters, ideal for swimming. The sandy shore is very wide. Ao Phrao can be described as a relatively developed
area, with several eco-resorts and bungalows. Ao Phrao is often praised as one of the most photogenic beaches on Koh Kood. The beach located on the southwest coast of the island, offering stunning sunset views. The beach is popular for snorkeling, especially near the rocky areas at both ends. The main infrastructure is located in the northern part of the beach. Beach massage. There is also a beach club with amazing food, a small bar, and a beach cafe. Further away are mangrove thickets and local settlements. If you don’t ride a bike, it can take up to 15 minutes to walk to the nearest beach. Ao Jark Bay and Beach The beach is quite small and located in a cozy bay. Due to the small size of the beach, it sometimes feels
like there are more people here than on other beaches. The beach is surrounded by greenery, and you can always find a place in the shade. Or maybe there really are a lot of people here by island standards
because there are at least three hotels on such a small beach. If the beach is inhabited, there will most likely be SUP and kayak rentals. Here you will find everything you need to spend days of deep relaxation.
