【Hokkaido Trip】小樽・洞爺湖・支笏湖 道央エリアを巡る夏の北海道

In mid-July, I went to Hokkaido for 3 days and 2 nights. Otaru, Lake Toya, Lake Shikotsu, around the central area of Hokkaido. Departing from New Chitose Airport by rental car We’ve come to ES CON FIELD HOKKAIDO to start our trip Too big to fit in the camera..! Entering from Lipovitan GATE Admission is free because it was a day without a match And you can access some of the seats. I think it’s rare to find a place where they open up the inside of the stadium ✨ Now we can see the ground It was cloudy, but the grass is bright green. It’s beautiful and spacious Same view as the players…! This building has a hot spring Sapporo Classic, I’d like to drink it during my trip. A huge mural of Darvish-san and Ohtani-san! You don’t have to be a baseball fan to enjoy it. Let’s take a look at the FLAGSHIP STORE too! Famous fox dance goods Collaboration goods with Snoopy are also available I’ve done a quick tour, I want to come back next time to watch a game⚾️ I also take a look around outside, it’s a huge site. Stylish shopping facilities Convenience store and drugstore, also had a few souvenirs ICHIBIKO is a strawberry sweets store. THE NORTH FACE is also there. TRUFFLE bakery cafe There was even an accommodation next to it There was a lot to see and do. Now, we are going to Otaru. Arrived! We leave the car at the hotel and go for a walk. First, lunch! Lunch is at wine cafe “Otaru Bine” Lunch menu, Shiretoko chicken stewed in tomato sauce. Lunch special, pasta also available Former Hokkaido Bank’s head office was remodeled into a retro style restaurant. Pinot & Ronde, limited edition in Otaru city… A lot of white wines are available…. It is served in a special glass, small and cute. Tomato stew with wine, so good! Full, I’m off to explore Otaru city First, we go to the former site of the Temiya Line, just a short walk from the Otaru Bine (The line was used as a freight hauling railroad until 1985) Walking on the promenade along the railroad Ten minutes’ walk away, a retro umbrella sky ✨ It’s located in a place called Otaru Shusse Mae Plaza Let’s go in to the store you are interested in Taisho Glass Sake brewery Various glasses are sold for different kinds of sake There were some glasses that I wanted to buy, but I gave up because it was the first day of my trip… I’ll look into some seafood stores. Hanasaki crab and snow crab Hairy crab and king crab can also be boiled in the store Then let’s go to Otaru’s famous cafe and have a cup of coffee! Video recording is not allowed inside, so just the entrance. Illuminated by 167 oil lamps Fantastic space. The coffee was good too ☕️ There is also a piano performance Speaking of Hokkaido, you can’t miss this one Rokkatei Otaru Canal Store Butter Cake Walnut” not sold at airport This is so delicious ✨ Not too sweet, elegant taste, and the texture of walnuts is fun! Marchen intersection Otaru Canal, a popular spot Many tourists were taking pictures from the bridge I have booked a cruise ship for the evening, so I will come back later. There are many renovated historic buildings
(Not many old buildings in earthquake-prone Japan) This is former Otaru branch of Mitsui Bank You can see the inside of the building, but only the outside due to time limitation. Wind chimes were playing cool sounds all over the city I’m tired of walking, so I go back to the hotel and take a rest. Tonight’s hotel is OMO5 Otaru by Hoshino Resort Enter your name in the terminal, and a card key is issued Rent room clothes for 200 yen. Pick up toothbrush etc. here Enter the hotel with a card key Room is on the top floor, 711. Clean twin bedroom Sofa, refrigerator, large TV Cute cushions on the bed Washbasin is also beautiful. Shower only without bathtub, with rain shower is nice Tankless modern (maybe) After rest, let’s go for Otaru canal cruise This 40-minute course takes you to spots along the canal. Let’s go! Our guide and boatman is a foreigner! He explains in fluent Japanese. This is the third lowest bridge. Lights on the right hand side, I guess it will be lit up at night Passing through several bridges This is the second lowest bridge Beyond the bridge is the harbor When you reach a place where the visibility is not good A whistle is sounded to warn people to be careful They also give commentary on the boats at anchor They say this bridge is the lowest, pretty close! We pass the place where I took a picture earlier. He explains the warehouse district in detail. They have a BIKKURI DONKEY and a beer hall in there. 1,800 yen per adult, advance reservation is available Now let’s have dinner Sushi Restaurant Kan, I thought that Otaru is famous for sushi. First of all, let’s start with Sapporo Beer. We ordered 8,800 yen omakase course I’m also interested in rice bowl and chirashi… On the back side, there was also a menu of sushi alone The first one is salt water sea urchin, sweet and most delicious…! Shrimp, tuna, white fish (lost the name…) White wine called “Tabi” made to match Otaru’s sushi It was refreshing and matched with Sushi! Fried white shrimp, crunchy texture is fun! Sushi from here, first is Torigai Chutoro (medium fatty tuna) has a light flavor. Herring is one of Otaru’s specialties! Herring soup, very tasty! This is “Oosuke”, rare salmon. Gunkan of Buffoon sea urchin Additional order of another rare salmon The last one is Ootoro, which I ordered additionally. Hokkaido is indeed very delicious! After a good mood with sushi and sake, We went to see the canal to refresh our stomachs. The canal at night is fantastic and romantic The cruise ship we just got on. This time of the day is also nice Beautifully lit up Tomorrow is early, so let’s go back to the hotel and go to bed right away DAY 2 Today we are going to Mt. Yotei and Lake Toya. First of all, breakfast. Buffet style. This used to be a chamber of commerce. Spanish omelet and prosciutto Colorful parfait sushi I have to try squid zangi… There are many Japanese side dishes Looks delicious..! There were muffins and cornbread too! So many kinds of breads to choose from… It was more delicious than I expected… Hokkaido indeed! Well, let’s go! We are now at Fukidashi Park at the foot of Mt.Yotei Famous water spot where Mt. Youtei water gushes out continuously. Also known as a spiritual place Snow and rain that falls on Mt. Yotei is filtered and purified, Youtei, producing water rich in minerals. It’s nice and cool..! It’s as if my mind is washed at once… It’s quite a lot of water when you see it up close… A little bit of water from the top… It was very healing There was an observation deck, so I climbed up about 200 steps. Mt. Yotei view point is that way. Yotei is unfortunately hidden by clouds It was a nice place with lush greenery Lunch at “Shay Shay”, just 10 minutes drive from here. Fried noodles with starchy sauce, so good! Now next is Lake Toya, starting from Silo Observation Deck It’s a little cloudy… Moving a little bit, we came to the boardwalk… It would be more beautiful if the sky was clear. But there were not so many people because of the weather. I was able to see the lake in peace and quiet Moving a little bit, we came to the Nishiyama crater walking trail. The trail still remains the fresh traces of the 2000 eruption of Mt.Usu Originally it was down slope, but it has been uplifted and now it is up slope. We realize that we are powerless before the power of nature. A broken utility pole remains intact This time we reached the first observatory. The crater could not be seen due to vegetation. 00:18:22,526 –> 00:18:27,150
The crater line crosses the town road The town has been cut off All the residents were evacuated and all are safe I heard there is a crater below here, but I can’t see it because of the trees and grass. This leads to the second observatory. Now back to the hotel. Today’s hotel is Midori-no-Kaze Resort Kitayuzawa It was less than 40 minutes drive from Nishiyama crater Very fine entrance And a vast lobby! The ceiling is high, and the lighting is inspired by ripples. Next to the counter, there is a reading space and a study booth. This is a store, spacious and quite well-stocked What should I buy to go home… There was a convenience store, cute inside Room type is executive room I got excited and chose the highest grade room. There is a cozy lounge on the same floor. Here we go! You can see a half-open-air bath in front of you. If you go left, you will see a bedroom. Further left is a TV and desk To the right of the bed is a Japanese-style room Tea set There is a coffee maker Free refrigerator contents, beer included Japanese style room with sofa Toilet is very spacious There were two washrooms across the bath Lotion for women, etc. This is for men I’m happy to see a ReFa hair dryer! I’ve been wanting to try this. Jinbei and on the right side is a closet A bathrobe is also provided Yukata and nightclothes are also available Extra towels are available at the front desk for free. There are two shower The bath is large enough to stretch your legs. It is the best. After a short rest, we have come to the dinner hall where we have been waiting for Colorful salad bar Other restaurants included Japanese, Western, Chinese, and a children’s section There were many drinks First of all, let’s drink beer! First plate, brown… (Second plate is mainly salad) Wagon service gave us stew And red wine with the stew… Ramen and fried rice are not to be missed I went about 4 rounds including dessert Now, after this, let’s go to the hot springs The hot spring is amazing in this hotel There are 20 kinds of colorful and fragrant hot springs, One of the largest open-air baths in Japan I think hot spring lovers will love it ✨ DAY 3 After waking up early and taking another bath, breakfast is served. I was the first one. I always go early in the morning. This is the same restaurant where we had dinner last night Mainly western food, with curry and rice, I’m full. A walk around the hotel There is a footbath There are hot, medium, and cold baths In front of the footbath, there is a river called “Shiraginu-no-toko” (white silk bed) In a river called Osarugawa The river water that sews the bottom becomes a band of white silk It was like looking at a painting. It is true that the riverbed looks like silk After checking out, we headed for Muroran It was about an hour drive from the hotel This is Cape Chikiu Lighthouse Beyond this point, Uchiura Bay opens up Whales and dolphins are sometimes seen There are other places to see nearby, so let’s go there! The next place we visited was “Golden Screen”. It is a short drive from Cape Chikyu. The name “Kinbyoubu” comes from the fact that the cliffs look golden when the morning sun hits them. The last one is “Tokkarisho Observatory” in Muroran Just after Kinbyoubu, there is a parking space for several cars. The word “Tokkarisho” comes from the Ainu word “Tokar Isho” (seal rock) Seems like a lot of seals used to gather there. The weather was not good, but there were no other tourists I had the spectacular view all to myself and enjoyed it to the fullest. It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car from Muroran Moved to the final destination of the trip, Lake Shikotsu Let’s look around Let’s go to the observatory first. The view from the observatory is great! Glad the weather recovered ☺️ Going down the stairs towards the lakeside where the mountain line railway bridge is located We have arrived at the shore of Lake Shikotsu What a beautiful lake This is what scenic beauty is all about. You can see a boat pier on the other side The water is so clear and beautiful. I came to the edge of the waves The water is clear There is a bright red iron bridge View from the bridge, you can see the canoe landing place This bridge is called “Yama-sen” (mountain line) railway bridge. It was made in England and used as a railroad until about 1951 Beautiful The weather was great! Leaving Lake Shikotsu behind, I’m heading for New Chitose Airport… Using miles to fly back home in ANA premium class Dinner is served, and it’s Japanese food with a variety of side dishes. Beef bowl, too. Quite a lot of food. We also had wine. I’m soaking in the afterglow of my trip… Did you enjoy it? This time we toured around a part of Hokkaido. Many attractions such as city walking, gourmet food, nature and so on, The power of Hokkaido is shown. I’d like to visit Hakodate and Furano someday✨ Thank you for watching to the end!
