A silly adventure just to get into a hot spring. Press the subtitle button or CC button to enjoy the full subtitles. Hello everyone, this is Watatabi. This time, I want to take a bath in a hot spring surrounded by nature with a spectacular view. To enjoy a nice bath in a hot spring, you need to exercise first! So, I’m going to visit some tourist spots to soothe my tired body. The location is Aira City, located almost in the center of Kagoshima Prefecture. The hot spring is located along the Maego River, a little away from the city. I’m heading north from Ibusuki City, the southernmost point of the Satsuma Peninsula, and heading for the hot spring. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of scenery awaits me this time as well. The first place I head to is the Kaimon Tunnel at the foot of Mt. Kaimon. The scenery is different from that of Honshu and fascinates visitors. I drive to the foot of Mt. Kaimon while suppressing my excitement. I ‘m on the left just before the Sanroku Natural Park. The atmosphere is excellent. Amazing! What is this? It’s a little scary. What will I do if an oncoming car comes? Is it a one-way street? It seems that I can pass here. There is a hole in the ceiling, and vines are hanging down from it, which is fantastical. This tunnel was made to hide the local residents working in the fields from the users of the golf club that was built nearby. Here! Here! Amazing! It’s fantastical. Wow, it’s amazing. Maybe it would be better if the sun was shining. In Japan, if there is a tunnel like this, some people want to make it a haunted spot for some reason. You can feel the history. We arrived. There is a tunnel like this. It’s really fantastical. It’s like the world of Ghibli. From here, another narrow tunnel continues. Well, that’s all there is… I think people who come by motorcycle can stop and take pictures. There seems to be a hot spring called Taki no Yu that you can enter for 200 yen, so it’s quite a distance, but I’m heading for Taki no Yu from here. This is a place called “Tateyama’s Kakure-gama”. There seems to be a stone quarry nearby, so I found this on the way there, so I stopped by. It seems that there is a cave here where people who practiced hidden faith during the Haibutsu Kishaku era stayed. I would like to go see it. This is the palm-sized, 99g, small drone called HOVERAir X1 Smart that I introduced last time. Today I’m going to use this again to go around the spectacular scenery. I’ll explain the details at the end of the video, so please watch until the end. Let’s head there. This way. There is a shrine. There are no people here. Well, maybe no one comes to see a place like this… Is it this way? It seems to be this way… First, there is a shrine here, so let’s take a look. It’s a nameless shrine. There is a shrine standing alone. Bamboo shoots are growing out of the ground. Amazing. They grow like this. This is the “kakure-gama”. This seems to be a cave that has been there since the Edo period. Looking at the map alone, it seems to be quite deep. There are also traces of air holes. It’s strange that they continued their faith to this extent. Was Jodo Shinshu a religion with such strong faith? The entrance is here. The light just turned on with the sensor. There seems to be a human sensor here. Suddenly the lights come on, and it feels like “come inside” and it’s a bit unpleasant. There’s a really loud voice inside. Yes, it’s like this. It’s a bit scary… to go in… There are a lot of bugs. If you don’t like bugs, you might not want to go (I don’t like bugs either), so let’s go ahead. *If you’re eating, please skip this as you will see bugs in the picture. It’s narrow, you have to bend down to get in. It’s very cold and smells like earth. There’s a mysterious bug on the chest of the Jizo statue… The area is steamy. It wasn’t that wide. But it’s moving that a place like this still remains today. I wonder if they sat upright in front of the statue and recited sutras or something. I don’t know what the situation was like back then, but it seems that the faith continued here in hiding. It’s lukewarm… So that ‘s how it was. There was nothing in particular to see. If you’re interested, please go. There’s nothing in particular. It’s not a place that you would come to Kagoshima from afar to see. From here, we head to the stone quarry, about 6km away. This stone quarry was opened in the late Edo period, and at the time there were no heavy machinery, so chisels and pickaxes were used to cut the stones. It was opened about 200 years ago, and the stones cut here are called Takada stone. And in the forest a little away from the city, the remains of the stone quarry appear. Traces of the history from 200 years ago still remain. We arrived. This is the site of the Takada stone quarry. There is no parking lot, but there is a space here that is just big enough for one car, so we parked there and entered. We can see the remains of the stone quarry right from the entrance, so we headed straight for it. I didn’t think it would be such a big place. There are traces of stone cutting in a fairly large space. It looks like “Takata” instead of “Takada”. First, let’s look here. There is something here. This is… um… what is it? A concert? It seems that a concert will be held here. I wonder if the sound will echo and replace the speaker? It might be a good idea. The band name is also cool. “Oyaji Obukuro Band” is so cool. It looks like it has been carved, but I am overwhelmed by this height. There is nothing in particular. There is just an open space like this, and there is no explanation of history or anything. I head to my next destination. It is 58km from here, and I will arrive in 1 hour and 8 minutes. I would like to go to the waterfall now, as there were many reviews on Google Maps saying that it was “unreachable” or “I don’t know where it is”. I think you enter from National Route 3… I think this is probably the way to go. It is not a tourist spot, so I don’t think there are any signs. I read that it is difficult unless you have a light car, but I wonder if you can get there in a Hiace… There is a river flowing on the left, and if you follow this river, there should be a waterfall at the end. Is it from here? It gets steep… Ah, definitely… Is it this! ? This is definitely difficult… Ah, but it’s not so bad. No, wait a minute… Am I right? The road. This is… certainly this is… I mean, even if I wanted to go back, I wouldn’t be able to make a U-turn… What should I do? I might be stuck. I’m stuck. No no no no, I’m stuck. This is the worst… Ah! I could make a U-turn here, but… what should I do? Should I attack? I’ve reached my limit of how far I can go. I feel like I could still go if I had a minicar. I managed to find a space to park here, so I started walking from here. It’s not that the road is narrow, but rather that the grass and trees are taking over the road. It looks like it rained, the ground is soggy. Maybe boots would have been better. It’s hard to come by car. Ah… it gets really rough from here… The road is closed. The spider webs are amazing…wait a minute… I got the Hero’s Sword. I’ll go ahead with this. What’s this… it’s not a road anymore… but it’s kind of a road… I think it’s probably the road to the waterfall… Wow, the spider webs… the ground has caved in in places. There’s a pretty big hole. It’s about 1m in diameter. Dangerous! If you don’t watch your step, you’ll get stuck in the hole. Closed… this is the worst… Aaaaaaaaah! The Hero’s Sword… it’s easy to walk from here. As I thought, it’s a small road. There’s a river right next to it. I saw a stone monument. I think it was built in 1965. The stone monument was built around that time. The river is right next to it. Only the beginning is rough, but after that it’s surprisingly easy to walk on. If there’s this much water in such a small river, the waterfall must be amazing. The road is getting a little suspicious from here. It’s suspicious. Wait, the Hero’s Sword is gone… Let’s start by looking for the Hero’s Sword. I did it! I got the Adventurer’s Sword (I’ve been promoted without even realizing it) and I’m going to go ahead with this. The grass and trees are wet, and my pants are already soaked. What am I doing… With a tree branch in my hand… I somehow managed to come out onto a wide road again. I walked for about 5 minutes. I still can’t see the waterfall. From here, it’s overgrown again. It’s a plant that looks like it grows in the tropics. The road is not steep, but it’s not hard to find either. I don’t recommend it. I hope you’ll watch this video and realize that there was a waterfall like this! Oh! Damn! It got really steep from here. It’s just a road… It’s covered with a lot of grass and trees… The road is gradually becoming unclear. I can hear what sounds like a waterfall. It’s a great sound! This is a rough road… (it’s been like that for a long time) my clothes got muddy… In fact, it is only about 10km away from Kagoshima Chuo Station, and it is located within 30 minutes from the station. We continue walking through the forests of Kagoshima, where nature spreads out. The waterfall is quite close. Ah! There it is! There it is! There it is! Hishijima Falls is a straight waterfall with a drop of about 17m. It is not a big waterfall, but the waterfall with a large amount of water and the flowing water is overwhelming. I kept going desperately to reach the waterfall, but… there was a rice field above the waterfall… lol Somehow, I managed to reach the waterfall safely. There were quite a few reviews saying that they didn’t know how to get there, but the answer is “just keep pushing through the road-like roads”. There is no fork in the road, so just keep going and you will reach it. However, I don’t recommend it. I’m sweating and my clothes are soaked, so I want to go to the hot springs soon. I’m back. It took 8 minutes from the parking lot to the waterfall. If you’re interested, why not go? I never thought there would be such a great waterfall in such a place. It was really good. Next we headed. We arrived at Taki no Yu. This is an unmanned hot spring, and you can bathe for 200 yen per adult. There is a fee box over there, so you put the fee in first and then bathe. It is a private hot spring. There is no information about bathing hours, but I met an old lady who lives here and she told me, “Please take your time in the bath.” I don’t know how long I can bathe for 200 yen. I went in. The inside looks like this… the smell of wood and the smell of the hot spring mixed together, giving it a nostalgic smell. This is the bathtub. There is a basket next to the door. Let’s take a look at what kind of hot spring it is. Oh! It was better than I thought! (Excuse me) Or rather, it’s a bath with a great view! It looks like this. There is a shower here. There is no shampoo, conditioner, or body soap. The view beyond the window is amazing. It is a luxurious hot spring that is 100% source water. The water quality here is a bicarbonate hot spring with a temperature of 38.4 degrees. It’s a little warmer. You can’t drink it. Only water comes out of the shower here . Let’s go in. The water is murky. It smells like iron . It’s not that deep, it’s about knee height. Amazing, it’s discolored brown. The smell of iron is strong. The water temperature is about 38 degrees, so you can stay in it for a long time. My body gradually warms up. This is what it looks like outside. I can hear the sound of the river and the birds singing. This is so luxurious. The inside is filled with the smell of the hot spring, but when I open the window, the smell of the mountains comes in and it’s really good. If I stay in for too long, the next person can’t enter, so I think I’ll get out soon. I thought it would be lukewarm, but my body is warm and I’m sweating. I don’t know what it’s like in winter. I went in. The sign says “Wow, it’s so cheap!” and it really is cheap. I’m really grateful that I can enter this for 200 yen. I don’t know what this building is, but it might have been a lodging facility. There is another building over there, where an old lady lives. This is the entrance, and it seems that you can stay overnight for the purpose of hot spring treatment. I don’t know if you can do it now. I thought that yellow sand has been flying in since yesterday, but it seems to be volcanic ash from Sakurajima. Just parking your car for a little while will cause Sakurajima volcanic ash to accumulate. This is a problem. This time I used a small drone called “HOVERAir X1 Smart” to take pictures of the spectacular view. Last time I introduced it, I only used the follow mode, but this time I also used the zoom out mode, orbit mode, and bird’s-eye view shooting. I introduced the contents of this product and how to use it in the previous video, so I will omit it. This is the zoom out mode. It takes pictures by zooming out. You can also change the altitude, and the horizontal distance height can be set from 1.5m to 9m. This is the orbit mode. It’s a shooting mode that rotates around you, and you can choose a radius of 1.5m to 6m. It also shoots at angles from 90 degrees to 360 degrees. It’s advanced, but you can choose to go up 1m or down 1m. This is not controlled, it shoots automatically. This is a bird’s-eye shot, but the shooting location was a bit bad so it doesn’t look very realistic, but you can shoot while rotating directly above yourself. This altitude can be shot from 5m to a maximum of 15m. You can also shoot without rotating, and you can change the rotation speed. I think it will be very realistic if you shoot at a high place. As with all modes, you can change the flight range, but I recommend flying in a wide area. There is no obstacle detection function, so if there is a person or object, it will hit it. You need to shoot in a place wider than the flight range you set. I always shoot alone, but it chases me like this, and it shoots automatically, so it takes pictures that I can’t take by myself. There are many other modes, but you can really shoot freely, so why not try shooting in your own way? The URL for this product is also attached in the description column, so if you like, please check the description column. See you again in the next video! Thank you for watching until the end.

Yes, that was definitely a Ghibli experience. I was expecting a bunch of animals and strange creatures to come into the quarry and start playing music. Where was your wife during this one? That poor old lady next to the hot spring bath is going to get swamped with visitors now after this video.
The path through the forest is like something out of "Journey to the Beginning of Time", as though you'd run into prehistoric animals at the end of it. It does make me want to get out into the woods more often, though.
thats crazy how cool drones are.
The kaimon tunnel looks so mystical and a little bit haunted. What a special place ! I think, without the sun its even more mystical. It is like a passageway into a magical world.
You are a brave and courageous seeker of secret places🤗 thank you for this video🥰
I have been to Japan many times, it is a stunning country. You always manage to reveal something unexpected about it. Like an unmanned onsen in the abandoned building that is still accessible and wonderful.
What an amazing little onsen 😍
Thank you for sharing!
What an amazing little onsen 😍
Thank you for sharing!
You are the bravest Japan adventurer on youtube! Many people would have turned back when the road ended 😅
These remote shrines and water falls and onsens are so beautiful… thank you for showing us these treasures
