We are a middle-aged couple traveling in a used camper van and a big chihuahua We are telling you about the real experience of sleeping in the car. We are in a Hokkaido caravan with Donpa from Hokkaido. We have just returned from Rishiri Island to Wakkanai. On our car trip, we have fun visiting the local supermarkets at CITY, a large supermarket in Wakkanai, and the well-stocked famous coffee made with spring water from Mt. Yotei on National Route 238 along the Okhotsk Sea. The sky in Hokkaido in mid- August is beautiful.The sea is fairly calm.There ‘s really nothing between the two towns.For lunch, we head to the restaurant at Cape Soya.At Almeria above Cape Soya Park, the Soya black beef hamburger and scallop soup are delicious.The hamburger is really delicious.The scallop soup is excellent, so the scalloped salt ramen is definitely delicious.I climbed up to the observation deck , but it was cloudy so I couldn’t see anything at Cape Soya. The wind is so strong that it’s hard to believe it’s August. Many people gather here to celebrate New Year’s Eve. At the northernmost tip, there is a long line of people to take photos at Cape Soya Ryuhyo Museum. It’s free! A mini spot where you can experience minus 10 degrees Celsius. Head towards the white road, a sightseeing spot in the Soya Hills where northern animals are cute and placed here and there. The white road is narrow, so it’s a one-way street, but sometimes cars come from the opposite direction, so be careful. The road is paved with scallop shells, and it looks like you’ll get a flat tire, so it’s a little scary. If it’s a sunny day, the contrast between white and blue would be beautiful.
