I was told by a tourguild once that by counting the number and looking at the size of the Taihu Lake rocks in a Suzhou garden reviewed how rich the owner of the garden was back in the days. Reason: imagine the transpotation cost of moving large and heavy rocks hundred of miles away from Taihu to Suzhou through primative roads with just animal and hunman power!

You gotta check out the pagodas while you're in Suzhou. There are a couple that are over a thousand years old, and I believe you can get to the top of at least one of them. That would make a great video, filming the beautiful view from the top of a thousand-year old pagoda. Anyway, great video, love the garden and food culture of Suzhou.

If you want to drink tea just buy a pack of teabags in the supermarket. Every train has hot water. In China you can even buy special bottles with a tea compartment for loose tea leafs

No offence but feels like once you guys return back to UK after travelling in China for such long time it going to be quite difficult, I have lived there for 10 years before I moved back to China two years ago, I was so disappointed at the government, nothing been done, infrastructure crumbling and everything getting so expensive, hope you guys having awesome time in China !
