【宮﨑／観光名所】大御神社／太平洋を望む断崖に鎮座する太陽信仰の聖地 – Oomi-jinja Shrine in MIYAZAKI, JAPAN
大御神社（おおみじんじゃ）は、宮崎県日向市にある神社。
地元では「日向のお伊勢さま」として信仰されている。
大海原を見渡す絶景の柱状岩上に建つ大御神社は、天照大神（あまてらすおおみかみ）を主祭神とし、創建は非常に古く、神武天皇の東征以前とも云われる。
古代には「日向国造」の祭祀の中心地であり、太陽信仰と深く関わる聖地であった。
太平洋を望む断崖の上に鎮座し、御神域は豊かな自然に囲まれ厳かな空気に満ちている。
波打つ柱状岩と相まって独特の雰囲気を醸し出し、特に海岸より望む姿は実に美しい。
平成23年（2011年）、境内より龍神信仰の痕跡と思われる昇り龍と龍神の霊（玉）が発見された。
これは5000年前の古代遺跡で、当時の龍神信仰を裏付けるものであると云う。
遊歩道を3分ほど進んだ海岸沿いの洞窟内に摂社の鵜戸神社が鎮座する。
地元では、古くから「鵜戸さま」として崇敬されている。
岩窟は人の手により掘られたもので、入口付近に昇り龍のシルエットが浮かび上がる。
古代日向の龍神信仰の痕跡と考えられている。
大御神社は、開運・浄化・心願成就にご利益があるとされ、全国から参拝客が訪れる。

Oomi-jinja Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture.
It is locally worshipped as the “Ise-sama of Hyuga.
Omijinja Shrine, built on a pillar-shaped rock with a spectacular view overlooking the ocean, is dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, and its founding is very ancient, said to have been established even before Emperor Jimmu’s eastern expedition.
In ancient times, the shrine was the center of rituals of the “Himukanokuninomiyatsuko” and was a sacred place deeply related to the belief in the sun.
The shrine is located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by rich nature and filled with a solemn atmosphere.
The wavy columnar rock formations create a unique atmosphere, and the view from the beach is especially beautiful.
In 2011, a rising dragon and a dragon spirit (jade) were discovered in the shrine grounds, which are thought to be traces of dragon worship.
This is said to be an ancient relic from 5,000 years ago, and supports the belief in the dragon god at that time.
Udo Shrine, a regent shrine, is located in a cave along the coast about 3 minutes along the trail.
The local people have long revered the shrine as “Udo-sama”.
The cave was dug by human hands, and a silhouette of a rising dragon appears near the entrance.
It is believed to be a trace of the ancient Hyuga belief in the dragon god.
The shrine is believed to be beneficial for good fortune, purification, and the fulfillment of one’s wishes, and attracts worshippers from all over the country.
