名古屋市発、白川郷と高山を満喫

This suspension bridge is kind of shaky. So hold on to your dear lives, my friends. Not every day you get a chance to see something like [Music] this. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening everyone. Welcome back in our channel. Mad Corner here and for this episode, let’s say that I’ve been waiting for this one to happen for the past few months. It’s quite hard to contain the excitement right now because for the first time ever, we are going to visit Shirakawa Go. A lot of these amazing content creators have already visited Shiraawago. And based on what I saw just over the internet, it is really beautiful and majestic. Just to give you an idea, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site, meaning it is a landmark with legal protection under UNESCO because of its cultural and historical significance. I feel like it’s better if I’ll just show it to you guys later. So, make sure to watch the entire video. If you’ve been watching my content, you guys know me as a Mr. DIY when it comes to uh visiting cultural places like this, uh flea markets, outlet parks, and all. But for this one, it we really cannot risk doing a DIY because the error of margin here is very slim. So, to make our lives easier, we decided to book our tour via cluke.com. Again guys, take advantage of our promo code mad corner cluke to enjoy that 3 to 5% discount. Again, that is mad corner cluke. Also, any travel necessities, you can book it there. Like for us, we have our pocket Wi-Fi and even your hotels, it is possible. So, please consider using cluke.com. Another good catch here is that our meeting point is just like 5 to 10 minutes away, walking distance from this Apa Hotel, Nagoya Ekima Minami. But we have to set our priorities. First things first, Family Mart, if you’re visiting a very cold place here in Japan, guys, make sure to check these things. These are heat packs for 58 or 50 58 yen only. These will really help you at least give some warmness in your hands and of course pillows of love egg sandwich family m chicken. We are now on our way to the pickup point which is this one, the Metsu bus center and it’s just like 8 minutes away, walking [Music] distance. We are finally in the fourth floor of this Metsu bus center and this is how it’s supposed to look like if you guys are wondering. So, it it already requires a lot of walking. I think you’ll have an easier time locating it because there are so many signages about it. For our group tour, you have to find this spot. This is somewhere in the fourth floor inside this Metsu bus center. And the lovely ladies inside will give you some instructions on where to wait. They will even provide you this bright yellow pin that will indicate that you are part of the air tour. On the left side, you will finally see all of the buses for this entire thing. And there’s a numbering 25, 26, and then our waiting point is 27 and 28. This is the bus finally arrived on point. 7:50 a.m. We are not yet in our first stop, but we have this quick CR break and apparently it’s my first time ever to experience this snowfall in my life. How does it feel like? Well, it’s not that cold. I’m not sure if the snowfall is vivid in this video, but yes, it’s happening right now. It’s not the coldness. It’s tolerable surprisingly. And if I’m going to describe it to you, this snowfall, every drop of it hitting my body or my face feels like a gentle and soft raindrop with a touch of, you know, coldness in it. Piles of snow everywhere from left to right. Every time I try to feel it, it’s very soft. Feels like it’s a crushed ice. That is the texture. Again, this is just a toilet break. We still have 1 hour left to go before we reach our first destination. One thing to remember, it’s really slippery, like super. We are now in our first stop of the tour, Takayama, which is found in the insides of Ha Mountains in GeoU Prefecture. It is a place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Japan that time forgot. But I’m saying that in the best possible way. The air is crisp and cold. The wooden merchant houses are beautifully preserved. Why do you need to consider Takayama? Because it speaks the language that we all understand and that is food. This is the birthplace of Hida beef and consider it as the main rival of coobe beef. We ended up buying this small tayyaki over here and you can buy five of them for only 400 yen. They have different flavors like custard, chocolate, and even cheese. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can pick the assorted flavor. You can try all of them. By the way, this kind of completes our Nagoya gang. And that’s Non and Yana. They’re the ones who’s keeping me every time I’m in Tokyo. Consider it as Tokyo parents. I did not expect that this is going to be a fancy cafe. It looks lovely inside here. Not a single fiber in me expected that this is going to be a huge one. Look at that. This is the second floor by the way. And then on the left side of the second floor. So lovely. Just in case you are wondering from Nagoya going here to Takayyama, it took us around 3 hours. And I kind of feel like giving this place for two to three hours is more than enough to try all of the available food stalls. They also have a hefty number of souvenir shops here waiting for you guys. Surprisingly, this chewy ball here is quite salty, but at the same time, it’s very soft. After an hour of walking around here in Takayama, I noticed one common thing in every corner. It is the rusty and charcoal smell in every store. most probably because of the houses or the food that they are cooking inside. You can also find some stores like this where they offer free miso soup. I also like the smell inside of the store. Very homey. For the dog lovers out there, definitely you’re still part of this content because they also have hid the beef treats for your dog. Since we have one, definitely we’re going to take home. Once you visit Takayama, you might want to check out this place. This is a sake brewery. And I think this experience is an exquisite thing here because sake is something in Japan, right? Basically, you just have to buy your cup here and then on your left side is where the tasting happens. You just have to remember the number that you want and then definitely you’re going to buy them over here. They have a corresponding number on each one that you’re going to taste. Let’s give it a try. Oh, tastes like lemonade. After drinking your sake, you have to wash this thing here and then bring it back. Just to set your expectation, boys and girls, this is quite popular, so it’s quite loaded, obviously. Now, what do I think about Takayama? It is not flashy. It’s not trying to be Kyoto nor a random old town. It has a homey vibe that shares a relaxing smell that embraces you. It slows things down without being bored. Imagine finding yourself in the house of your grandma with tons of food where the city cannot replicate. We are finally entering Shiraakawa, boys and girls. Uh it’s just 1 hour away from Takayama. And this is the only way to enter the village. This suspension bridge is kind of shaky. So hold on to your dear lives, my friends. No, it’s safe. Look at that pure snow. And that’s the shadow of us walking in this suspension bridge. I’m not sure about this, but the weather or the coldness here is far more tolerable to what we’ve experienced back in Takayama. I’m not sure if it’s because of the loudness of the sun right now here, but I’m not gonna lie. I prefer this kind of weather. I’m not sure who did this, but they’re quite cute. We are starting to see the gasho houses here. The roof that you are seeing here is made up of water or straw. So, if you are familiar with the anime One Piece, as you guys know, Luffy Mugiwara, so W means straw, straw hat, right? Our tour guide also mentioned that this is a mustry pudding house inside the village. So, we’re going to give it a try, of course. And people are starting to line up on this area. Look how thick the straw roofs are. And they’re changing these things after 20 to 30 years. Apparently, this place won the Japan Pudding Award, and that’s why they’re quite popular. And they also have a soft serve pudding. There you go. Soft served. First order of business. It’s very milky and the caramel and for some weird reason the caramel blends perfectly. I think eating soft serve in a cold weather or in a cold place is quite underrated and quite an experience. Now let’s give the pudding a try. It’s quite creamy and milky at the same time. There’s a hint of bitterness in it for me. That’s how it tastes like. Now I get it. How come they won an award? cuz the overall taste is quite playful. By the way, this is just 450 yen. This village is absurdly picturesque. That’s how I see it. Just to let you know as well, this tour will allow you 2 hours of free time here. So, you can roam around on your own. And to my surprise, there are multiple restaurants that you can pick on random spots. You will also see this massive, I would say, snowhouses out of nowhere. and people are enjoying it. Just a reminder, snow is really slippery, especially for these things. Make sure to walk with caution. Look how thick the snow is in here. Me from a tropical country. This is quite amusing. To give you a better understanding and to see the scale of how high or the thickness of the snow is, I stand at around 5’11. And look at this. Most houses here are privately owned, but there are three gasha houses that you can check inside that. And one of them is this one. This is the Wada house. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. And you only have to pay for 400 yen for adults. For the children, it will only cost 200 yen to see what’s inside. For a split second, I got surprised because once we enter this Wada house, I did not expect how huge this one is. This spot here is where they cook. Well, it seems like now we have to go up the second floor. And before you fully reach the second floor, they have a small floor here where they have their stuff. And everything looks antique in this place. Look at this one. This is the shoe that they have back then. And it’s made up of straw. It’s fascinating how they used to do things back then. There are no nails. It’s just pure woodcraft and straws like this. This is how they engineer houses during that time. And look at it. It might look simple, but definitely this will really need a lot of hard work. You might ask me now, how does it feel like to be inside this Vada house? Number one, the cold weather feels like it’s breathing inside you in here because the wood obviously absorb the cold weather from the outside. So, if there’s a snowstorm or snowfall, this house will definitely make things tolerable. Look at this thing. It looks familiar, right? because that is the backpack that was used by Tangiro during season 1. So, this is the one that carries heavy objects such as firewood. They also have documents here uh giving us a general overview of how they engineer these gasho houses. And I’m telling you, it looks complicated. There’s also a document here explaining how they tie the wood properly. And yeah, it totally makes sense. Now, as a visual learner, we’re just getting the idea. Now, the steps are quite narrow, so make sure to be extra careful. We are now stepping inside the tatami room. And to my surprise, I think this is the softest tatami feeling that I have in my feet. Oh, I like it. I can sleep here all day. That is the Wada house. So after seeing the insides of it, you just have to walk in the main road. This is considered as the main road of Shiraakawago. And on my left here, there you go. This is a souvenir store. They have food, stuff, toys, tatami sleepers, and even bonnets and hats. But unfortunately, it’s not allowed to take photos or videos inside. So we’re staying here right now. And on our right side here, they are selling ice cream. But unfortunately, it’s already closed. But they have a sign here that they’re selling it for 400 yen. I’m starting to be a slave of ice cream. And we’re ordering one hid the milk ice cream for 500 yen. They got me because they have studio displays here. So, we’re ordering one. Oh, thank you. All right, boys and girls. What’s my take with this soft served hida milk? Uh, well, it’s very creamy. In terms of taste, I would say it’s seven out of 10. What sets this one apart from the others would be its texture. With every bite, it’s not pure softness. It has a certain resistance that will allow you to identify that it’s hida milk. The question is, do I recommend it? Yes. For experience, it’s an absolute yes. And we are on our way back to the meeting place or the parking lot because for some weird reason, 2 hours is almost done. So, we didn’t even notice it. That’s how entertaining this village is. My personal take in this Shiraakawa go experience would be there’s no rush here. No bright lights, no higheed, anything that does not exist here. It’s just the sound of the river, the click of old wood, the feeling that for at least a moment, the modern world does not exist. And that’s something worth experiencing. Again, we booked our tour via cloak.com. I will put the link on the description box down below. And once again, please use my promo code mad corner clip to enjoy the three to 5% discount. Not every day you get a chance to see something like this. Very cool. I hope someday I’ll get a chance to visit this place again, but in a different season, something like spring or autumn. I feel like that will be a different story. Look at that. Actually, I really can’t believe it that I’m in a place like this. I just wanted to say thank you guys for making things possible for me. I hope I was able to share useful information to you. Seeing this kind of beautiful place makes me contemplate in some point of my life. But I have no regrets with everything. 10 years ago, if you tell me that I’ll be traveling and making YouTube content, I’m going to laugh hard. Life is really full of surprises. That’s the only thing that I can tell you. So, I hope that 2025 is the year that will turn things around for you as well. Station right now and all the way back to [Music] There are some restaurants here that are quite hard to comprehend, and this is one of those because for only 950 yen, this massive small ramen serving is well recommended. The fun part with their ramen would be the noodles because it is playfully mixed with this bean sprouts. And obviously, they are not holding back in adding this bean sprouts to add more volume to it. But in the end, if you will eat the pork cutlet with the noodles and the bean sprouts, plus the cabbage, it’s just magical in your mouth. Guys, I have to focus my attention with my ramen here. So, I’ll just see you later. After one eternity, we are finally done with our ramen. This is the ramen place that we’ve explored. Again, this is in the Goya. Don’t worry, I’ll put the link and the details on the description box down below. And don’t be intimidated with the Japanese characters because inside they have an English translation of their menu. We are now back in our base here in Apa Hotel, Nagoya Ekima Minami. After that heavy ramen dinner, you have to dedicate another 3 hours going back to Nagoya station. Definitely time will just breeze by because you will be sleeping on that bus ride. We can actually summarize the entire Shiraakawa Go and Takayama experience in one line from the movie The Secret Life of Walter Miti. Beautiful things don’t ask for attention. Those two village are not flashy, they are not loud, but they will whisper calmness that is quite hard to find nowadays. If that kind of beauty is what you are seeking, then you might want to add the Shiraakawa in Takaya mature experience in your plan. Also, 92% of you guys watching this video are not yet subscribed in our channel. I beg you, please hit that subscribe button because it will really help me moving forward in growing this channel and it it will really mean a lot to me.
