We rode First Class on one of China’s fastest high-speed trains—and it did not go as planned. From nearly missing our train to getting completely lost onboard, this experience was way more chaotic (and hilarious) than we expected. 😅
This was our first time in First Class on a Chinese bullet train, and we’re sharing everything—from boarding, snacks, and bathrooms to whether it’s actually worth the upgrade over Second Class.
We also finally arrive in Shanghai, China’s biggest city, and kick things off with dumplings, skyline views from The Bund, and a spicy late-night hot pot experience at the famous Haidilao.

China's high-speed trains offer two types of bathroom services, even on second-class trains, not just first-class trains. There's another type of toilet in that second-class cabin where you checked out. In China, the squat toilet has to be kept because lots of local people prefer to use the squat toilet outside but choose to use "Fancy one" in their private homes. They''re needs also need to be considered, not only yours. Thanks!
Tips: First class provides water and snacks. Things at the train station are at least 1/3 more expensive than those outside. It is not recommended to eat lunch boxes on the train (expensive + not very tasty). It is recommended to solve the problem of eating in advance or after getting off the train.

Whenever I see WORLD TRAVELERS posting "we almost missed our train/flight/ride" THEIR VIDEO AUTOMATICALLY GETS A THUMBS DOWN.
The food on the train is too expensive, you can actually order takeout on the train and they will be delivered to the seat. Meituan or are you hungry.
Be careful of M&M chocolate bean shops, their prices will stab you.

You are definitely not the only goofballs to be late and get stuck in another car, cant remember who i watched recently that also did this… if its your first time its understandable guys!! Even though it was cold. It looked like so much fun wandering around Shanghai.
At 2:40, the screen clearly shows this gate(B19) is for carriage 9-16 of Route G998. Ideally passengers of carriage 1 should check in at the other gate for carriage 1-8 (I guess A19 in this case) to avoid running through the full length of a train when boarding.

Most people order food to the trains when it pulls into a station. It's all so organised so you'll get the food delivered straight to your seat. Just scan the QR code on your seat to order.

lets say I bought ticket from online for 10:00 am departure, what time should I be there? 09:00? is 09:30 still okay?
this was the two trains couples together so you could not pass from one to another. you were lucky because it stopped at the next station so you could get to your car.

Mike and Ashley, Australian here. Looks like the future . Speedy transport , great food, sparkling cities, and so clean. I must admit I was a bit worried when on the train you hung your bag on the 'wall' hook that seemed to be behind you. Being China it was probably safe.
高铁最贵的应该是商务舱，商务舱可以平躺并且每排座位更少，在高铁上可以点外卖，会在下一个站点由列车员帮你送到座位

the tickets checking stopped at 5 mins before the train leave, and some people line up there is for next train, so you just cross over them and get your ID card checked.
Then the carriages are not always connected and can pass through, you can wait for next station, go down and get up again.🤭don't worry, we all have same exprience.
