桜の名所で有名な上野公園に春がやってきました。ソメイヨシノは未だ蕾ですが、早咲きの桜はきれいな花を咲かせています。屋台がたくさん出る「うえの桜フェスタ」も開催し賑わう上野公園を歩きましょう。
JR上野駅の西側に位置する上野恩賜公園は、1873年に太政官布告により日本初の都市公園として開設されました。東京ドーム約11個分の広さを誇る公園内には、美術館、博物館、音楽ホール、動物園などの文化施設が点在しています。
また、ソメイヨシノやヤマザクラなど約1,200本の桜が咲き誇る桜の名所としても有名です。桜の季節にはライトアップされた桜が情緒を盛り上げ、毎年330万人近くの観光客が訪れます。不忍池は、江戸時代から浮世絵に描かれてきた蓮の名所です。公園にはカモや渡り鳥が多く訪れ、バードウォッチングを楽しむ人々の姿も見られます。
美術館や博物館で国内外の芸術作品、文化、自然科学に触れ、歴史の香りを感じながら史跡巡りを楽しみましょう。この公園は魅力が満載なので、一日ですべてを見るのは不可能です。

Ueno Onshi Park, located on the west side of JR Ueno Station, was opened in 1873 by a decree from the Dajokan as Japan’s first urban park. The park, which boasts an area of about 11 Tokyo Domes, is dotted with cultural facilities such as art galleries, museums, music halls, and zoos.
It is also famous as a cherry blossom spot, with about 1,200 cherry trees, including Yoshino cherry trees and wild cherry trees, in full bloom. During the cherry blossom season, the illuminated cherry trees add to the atmosphere, attracting nearly 3.3 million tourists every year. Shinobazu Pond is a famous lotus spot that has been depicted in ukiyo-e since the Edo period. Many ducks and migratory birds visit the park, and you can also see people enjoying birdwatching.
