A house may be abandoned… but the past never truly leaves.

Deep in the French countryside, in a quiet village, stands a manor once filled with knowledge and the pursuit of wisdom. For generations, the Montel family called this place home—men and women of education. Professors, historians, and intellectuals, they dedicated their lives to shaping minds, writing history, and exploring the world beyond these walls.

Their home reflected their passion. Bookshelves line the halls, and flags from distant lands can be found in the bedrooms. They traveled, they studied, they debated beneath the glow of chandeliers. This was a house of ideas… of learning… of legacy.

But in 2016, time stopped. A single boarding pass remained on the kitchen table, untouched—a departure that was never reversed. Since then, the manor has stood still, its grand dining table set for a meal that would never be served, its corridors waiting for voices that will never return.

Tonight, we sleep inside the manor, surrounded by the relics of those who never came back. The silence is palpable, as if the past is watching. And with the morning light, we’ll uncover the last memories of the Montel family’s legacy—before it vanishes into history forever.

  1. Hello gentlemen, I couldn't help but hear you say that the was for uncle Jean and aunt Rosine, was written by their cousin but no, it wouldn't be. It would be written by either a nephew or a niece if they are uncles and aunts. It's okay to be in the presence of black mold as long as you don't disturb the area by in this case ripping off the wallpaper. I think that speaker type thing was exactly that but it's used as an intercom to contact. Possibly a servant. The main part of it might be in the kitchen cuz that's usually how it worked but don't quote me on that. I am just listening because you are speaking French which I understand but some may not when you said confiture, you were talking about jams. Now that is an old television that's in the kitchen. It's kind of weird to see the stove in front of the doors in the dining room. I've never seen that before. Okay I see the thing in the fireplace. There's a hole and that's where that stove would go. They must have just moved it. You guys are very lucky that you didn't get jumped. I guess while you were sleeping there the intruders so to speak. I bet you don't know what the jug is for in the bedroom that you slept in.😂😂 It's used for washing your face. You would have a bowl on a dresser somewhere and you would wash your face and clean yourself before you left the room. But that room is a very beautiful room love the color. The two flags may represent that one of them may have been from there and 2.They might have fought a war over there. The pictures of the little girls I'm assuming that they are sisters and those are the ones that are on those passports as well. Cuz they look similar to the baby pictures. The blue room was nice too. In the late 1800s to early 1900s they would put wallpaper on the ceiling and everything pretty much like you see to keep the house warm because there was a lot of cracks and stuff in the plaster and it would actually keep the house a little warmer back in the day. The red with the white star is a flag from Cuba. Well it seems like they like to either travel or they were from different places. Anywho, thanks again

  2. EXPLOMO, FYI = "Does asbestos smell? NO, Asbestos does not have a smell or even taste, and the fibers it releases cannot be seen by the naked eye. One of the things that makes asbestos so dangerous is you can be breathing or swallowing it without knowing."

  10. Really neat place scary about black mold and asbestos . Hope you didn't risk your health guys. Poor Ramon was cold I would have frozed to death also . Loved the wall paper in dining room looked like Art deco style and the wrought iron fence was nice also outside.

  13. So i looked it up and as far as i can tell this is what the flag was for: Dec. 29, 2023 — Nina Flag Flies over Castle Pinckney on 163rd Anniversary of Flag’s Raising on Dec. 27, 1860

  16. Hey hey dear Maureno, from fabulous team Explomo. I was nearly speechless listening to your beautifully formulated introduction. So poetical, I love it! Respect, bro!
I can vividly imagine, that spending a night in one of the bedrooms there must have been quite an unique experience for you and Remon! – I also loved following you in mind at your side through these rooms of that abandoned French mansion. – The living/dining room was really beautiful to see and was still looking quite untouched with some pieces of elaborately carved furniture and other antique items. – Also some of the bedrooms were still in a well preserved condition! Just a pity to see on the other hand some rather heavily messed up parts in this so far beautiful and amazing mansion.
Great explore, which was a pure pleasure to watch! – Wishing you all the best, and I am already looking forward to your next urbex adventure.
Stay safe, bro! – Peace and kindest regards.

  17. As always, great analysis. Newbies often wonder if it is too late to navigate the financial market, but the market is always unpredictable. Trading has more to offer than just holding on, so it is important to learn before you dive in. Active trading is essential to riding the waves of the market. Thanks to Alfred Thomson ideas, daily trading signals and my dedication to learning, I am increasing my daily income. Kudos to the journey ahead!

  18. A few days ago I found a bag that was almost the same design as my dream bag, but the price blew my mind. I have a soul resonance with kisluxs . It taught me that beauty doesnâ t have to be expensive, it just has to be right.
