48 Hours in BRUGES, Belgium – City Guide

In February 2025 we took another trip into Belgium to visit Bruges. Join us in our tour around the city to the most iconic locations and landmarks, to give YOU the inspiration to hopefully visit Bruges. You definitely need more than 48 hours to visit, experience and enjoy this city, but our quick visit was perfect!

Bruges, the capital of West Flanders in Belgium, is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities, known for its picturesque canals, historic buildings, food and of course, Beer!

Founded in the early Middle Ages, Bruges flourished as a major trading hub during the 12th to 15th centuries. The famous Belfry of Bruges, the Grote Markt, and the stunning Church of Our Lady, which houses Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child, all reflect the city’s medieval heritage.

The rich history and its legacy..You really nailed it. The modernized inside of museum, but never overpowered by, but respect its heritage, I reckon. Thank you for sharing another outstanding work.

  8. Amazing vlog. I once breifly visited here when on a mini cruise. Didn't really get to explore due to time limitations so really appreciate you showing us around. Love the belgium chocolate shops and the gothic architecture. Enjoyed the story behind the bridge. You've put this together beautifully and the narration is perfect. Such a wonderful location. Hope you have had a lovely Sunday. Matt & Bec 😊❤

  9. What a beautiful city Bruges is. We visited a few years ago at christmas time. Its beautiful. Thanks for sharing your day with us 😊👍

  10. Quite a beer museum! I know it's famous in Belgium. Since I'm not a drinker 🍺… I enjoy a lot of waffles 🧇, fries 🍟, and chocolate 🍫 in Belgium 😂

  12. My pc decided to have some internet problems yesterday, so I had to rewatch the video today. I love the older style of the buildings, they look so much more interesting. Todays modern style looks boring to me. Wow, the view from the tower over the city is stunning. I feel like, that 48 hours in Bruges is not enough, there are so much to see.

  13. I've never been there, it’s truly amazing. They don't call it the "Venice of the North" for nothing. Your great video takes us through this stunning medieval city with charming canals, cobblestone streets, and well-preserved Gothic architecture 👍❤️🤗

Another city to add to our list.

    You definitely covered a lot.
Great narration?, loved hearing about all the sites and buildings.

We would definitely try and go up the tower, the views looked fab

We love going into churches when we are away, the Church of our Lady looked beautiful

    The cathedral looks stunning inside

You can see why they call it the Venice of the North.

    Hope you've had a fabulous weekend ❤

  16. Went past Bruges while going to Brussels, I think Brussels you can get around everywhere in Belgium, but Zerbrugge I think is a working port town

Belgium beers and waffles and chocolate now that’s a combination! Nice views over the square chilling and people watching and great Timelapse while doing so! It really does look like the Venice of the north! Fabulous and beautifully narrated! ❤

  19. Hi Alessa and Brett. I have fond memories of a day trip to Bruges back in the early 1990s with my parents. We were holidaying in Northern France and my father drove to Bruges. We explored the streets and I took a few photos (on film back then) . The highlight of the day for me was a Salvador Dali exhibition which was taking place in one of the buildings (it may have been the Belfry building – it is so long ago now) there were so many original artworks on the touring exhibition. Other fond memories were the pretty canals and the architecture – oh and the frites (with mayo) wagons which were in the Markt square. Thanks for triggering all those happy memories.
