Project 47: Motorcycle Adventure – Exploring Japan – Ep #1 Kagoshima
#MotorcycleTravel #JapanMotorcycle #MotoCamping
Welcome to Project 47, where I embark on a journey to explore all 47 prefectures of Japan, one by one, over 47 episodes. In this first chapter, I take the Honda GB350S for a 1000km, 6-day adventure through the rugged beauty of Kagoshima Prefecture. Along the way, I visit tranquil shrines, peaceful waterfalls, historic sites like a samurai house and the Chiran Peace Museum, and even get up close to the powerful, active volcanoes that define the region’s landscape.
Camping along the way in my LoneRider MotoTent, I embrace the full experience of motorcycle camping — waking up in nature, cooking simple meals, and immersing myself fully in the Japanese outdoors. The trip isn’t just about the destinations but the journey itself: the roads, the moments of solitude, and the connection with both the land and the culture.
Along the way, I also indulge in Japan’s incredible food — from crispy katsu curry to warm bowls of ramen and soba. Whether you’re a fan of motorcycles, camping, or just love Japan’s history and stunning landscapes, this series will offer an authentic and grounded experience.
At 46, I’ve come to appreciate the simple, peaceful moments on the road. Join me as I continue this journey through all of Japan, one prefecture at a time.

Thanks for bringing us along for the ride of a lifetime 👍👍
Cordialement.
Pascal
A truely beautiful video ❤
now that was a ride! So many beautiful spots to see all along the route, I feel like if I took that route, it'd take me a month to finish just because I want to see all the places haha. Good riding, hope there wasn't much damage to yourself and the bike. I have had 3 drops so far in 2ish years of riding and fortunately all of them were either slow speed or I couldn't put my foot down quick enough.
wow look cool!
Its just Spielberg and you…🫠
Again,👌🏻🔩🏍️🇯🇵
Awesome video! Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure. I really appreciate how you take the time to explore instead of just rushing from checkpoint to checkpoint—it makes the journey so much more immersive. Can’t wait for the next episode!
Just goes to show, you can tour on just about any size motorcycle, the GB350 seemed to perform well…love the ‘keys inside the tent’ moment! A very cinematic production, can’t wait for Prefecture No.2
Nice video 👍
What is the name of the luggage rack?
Just just picked up a GB350S
Cheers from Denmark
When you go to Yamanashi, go to Lake Motosu. The view across to Mt Fuji is breathtaking. 20:46
38:38 hope the tank and engine are ok 😓
Let's go!!
What a gem of a channel. Thanks for bringing Japan so close to us! 🇯🇵🏍
Bonjour. J'aime vos promenades à travers le Japon! Merci pour toutes ces belles images.
Hello. I love your walks through Japan! Thank you for all these beautiful pictures.
Fantastic video!!
Keep Going
Can believe the amount of traffic, NONE! Great for safe riding, not like Sydney traffic.
By the way “Unit Garage” make a right hand side pannier for scrambler, don’t know what they are like. Not a lot of options for that bike on that side but great looking bike.
Just epic! Looking forward to your next episode. Thank you for this masterpiece!
Hi Adam, hope you are well. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I’m so jealous of the riding you get to enjoy around Kyushu. Stunning.
Hope the bike isnt too hurt 🤞
I’m trying to convince my wife that we visit the island and all the beautiful places you have included in your videos. 😎
Looking forward to your next video.

Hi Adam, A truly great and interesting video, you are a master storyteller such a lovely country can't wait to see it and you in person in June, Maybe you should do it on a bicycle next time,
You're doing a great job with these videos. I'm really enjoying them. I bought some of the Tripmachine items too. They're very nice and high quality, so thanks for turning me on to that. Save travels!

Cool tent! Seems like it comes from my home country 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
WOW what an amazing video!
Wow!! You took us on an amazing journey! 👏👏 You have a great sense of proportion in presenting the most beautiful landscapes, with fantastic pictures! I especially liked the Kusanoi restaurant and the breathtaking Sogi Falls! Ohh man, that is so beautiful!! I'm also looking forward to the end of the snowfall so we can go on another trip with you! All the best, Adam! 😊
A big thank you for this superb walk and these beautiful landscapes.
A little thought for the courageous machine, hoping that it did not suffer from its little fall. I am not worried about the guy, he seems solid! 😊
The effort you put into these shots is amazing. Great vlog and storytelling!
Beautiful video mate, just love Japan❤️👌
Great video! Subscribed for part 2 and beyond; it's a long way to Souyamisaki 😛
The GB350's a very pretty little bike, and it looks like it's finally gracing us europeans with its presence!
im a person who just started to have obsession in motorcycles and doing long rides. this video really hits the spot! its one of my bucket lists to travel around japan with only a motorcycle but this video feels like i already did haha! looking forward to the next episode. ride safe always!
Good morning from Italy, I saw that you changed the handlebars of the motorcycle, why? Nice ride, a little look at Japan, I like the style of the Honda gr350s, thank you very much.
I saw that you changed your camping tent, the previous one was a bit small to put your luggage in, too bad it will surely weigh more, bye
If i was watching a million dollar documentary! Awesome job. Thanks for sharing.
Say, I can't find anything about service intervals. When is the valve clearance adjusted etc.?🤔
Thanks for sharing this amazing video ❤ greetings from Belgium, Erwin
Really enjoyed this. I live in Satsuma Sendai. We moved here from the center of Kyoto 2 years ago. We jumped at a chance to buy some property down here. I love riding my motorcycle on the country roads here. I'm always amazed how many times the view looks like it could be made into a painting. I've sat on that Triumph Scrambler in Kirishima thinking of buying one. I've bookmarked several places from your video to visit in the spring. Looking forward to your future videos.
This wonderful, thank you!
💙💛💜🩵♥️
