Looks good….but I think you sold me on Koh Sdach….though Koh Rong Sanloem looks a bit cheaper, and still quite nice. Dare I say, you went from Sihanoukville, or straight from Koh Sdach, by boat?
Wow what a beautiful island this is for sure. My mate was checking out a few of the recent videos of yours as he will be likely be travelling to Cambodia again later this year and I think we've got him hooked. The last one (previous video) he thought was amazing but more suited to a couple on honeymoon (his words) . I'm looking forward to his response after he watches this video as I reckon he'll love this for sure. Where are then prices?? You seem to be like all the other YouTube people who go from cheap trips to your super high end resorts!! So disappointing you hide everything-when you say youn hide nothing!! Total BS! I am cancelling my subscription like the one from "Chris" What did you actually pay for accomdations? What a beautiful island in Cambodia. It’s paradise in SE ASIA and it’s affordable too. Nice video as always Chai
I visit this island 2015 with my wife it is a magical beautiful island untouch raw beautiful. No develop. The whitest sand ever. Hope those developers do not ruin it. It was paradise on earth.
KRS is our go-to resort for a short break – we live 10 minutes from the PP Expressway and can be in Sihanouhkville in 2.5 hours in time for the 8.20 am boat. If coming from PP city you can take a coach or a taxi. We normally stay at Sara Resort which is similar to Eden, with a nice new pool, but a bit cheaper. We did actually try Eden on our last trip last November and it is very nice too but we found that the food at Eden was nicer.
Where you showed the quad bikes you can also hire a scooter which we did last time (reception at Eden arranged it) and ventured out for the first time to the lighthouse, the scenic overlook and the stone carvings. Those are all well worth a visit. You need to be reasonably fit to get to them by foot (take plenty of water).
I also recommend taking plenty of water on the walk to either Lazy or Sunset beach, the roads are very exposed you will get thirsty in the sun. We found that the sea at Lazy beach had sea lice in it (you can hear them "crackle") and we got a few bites. This may be seasonal. Recommend wearing a rash vest.
It is worth visiting M'Pai Bay on the north coast of the island – there is decent snorkelling nearby and it has a very different vibe. You can get a water taxi or do it as part of a day trip (see below).
I also recommend taking one of the all-in-one trips from Saracen which include, fishing (we ask them to bring a stove to cook the fish on the boat), snorkelling near M'Pai Bay with a stop there for a sunset view at the top of the hill and a beer if you like! Then a return after dark with a chance to swim in the bio-luminescent plankton, which is a not-to-be missed experience. Expect to pay around $15 pp for that as a shared trip (haggle if they try to charge a lot more), normally from about 1 or 2pm to about 6.30 or 7. You can pay more for a private version of the trip.
