  1. I hope your enjoying these apartment tours. I am trying my best to get access to different ones, where I can. It's not as easy as it seems. Not every real estate agent or developer wants to give you permission to film inside. If anyone watching lives in Moscow, and would be willing to give me a few minutes of there time to make more videos, contact me via Telegram @travellingwithrussell

  2. And government have gall to pretent to care about demography, this apartment is small even for a one person. Allowing the construction of such small apartments should be a crime. No even bike parking before the building. Okay, now I am mad, they managed make worse living conditions than a commieblock.

  3. I really like the building architecture and the playground is lovely. However no way 24 floors up. I must admit the view is very nice

  4. This tiny apartment has potential with the right furniture. First of all get rid of the bed and a couch. And have a pull out sofa . So you can sit and watch tv during the day and at night transform it into a bed. Maybe you could even have a small coffee table. Second get rid off that round kitchen table. They sell tables that are attached to a wall on one side and has two foldable legs on the other side. When not in use you can fold the table so it hangs on the wall. Giving you more space.
    Bathroom is perfect.

  5. Russ , I can appreciate that apartment. I wish you could see my apartment I'm typing this in comment. You could fit 5 of of those apartments in mine.
Don't Russians Bake ? No oven ? Only 2 burner cook top? The TV is on the wall the sofa is on. How you suppose to watch TV with it in back of your head. Only a foot or two between the sofa and the bed. It's like a small travel trailer for space. The toilet is so small ! How can a fat person sit on it. Lol
I'd ve so depressed living in those cramped spaces. Sorry.

  6. Greet apartments and views, like the simplicity and these studios will be much more appealing with Murphy beds.

  7. The more the merrier! I 'm wondering if there are many old Soviet-type buildings left in Moscow or Moscow region. What I like about them are the older features they have and they feel very homey. What a view!!! They sure make the most of every inch of space.

  8. I've commented before on the onsite hardware. Such a blessing – I can't count the hours I spent driving to the hardware store when I bought my new place.

  9. I think it's a good thing they're ripping down the old and replacing with new. Not to disrespect historical buildings, as some people love the old 'USSR' designed buildings and 'prison' like paint schemes lol, but majority of those old buildings seem like they're so poorly maintained, they look so cold and unwelcoming, so I'm all for the new. Majority of these one room apartments (with the recent apartment walkthroughs you've done), I try and picture myself living in them and as an older single male Aussie, not sure if I could. Having said that though, and although slightly bigger in Australia, many new 1 bed apartments are not much bigger as our population increases the design of apartments is to squeeze as many people in as comfortable as possible, whether that be 1 or 2 bed apartments.

  10. Hi Russell, Very nice! I would rather have extra space by using a pull out sofa bed or a murphy bed. The brick is nice and different on the exterior. I love the view but I could not live in a high rise due to a fear of heights but a 1st would be great!! Nice finishes and I also like the black. Thanks for another great and informative video!

  11. Hi Russell from Australia living in Moscow! I am Julie living in Ohio USA. I love watching your videos! This is a very nice apartment. I would love to stay there but if they are tearing down old apartments with lower rent, will they get people to rent these? Might be out of alot of peoples price range. I would love to stay a couple of months there. Absolutely beautiful and love the view!

  12. I could happily live there year round if I could furnish it myself. I really enjoy your videos!

  13. I'd like to see the parks, lakes, and nature that is available in Moscow. Is there a community garden area? What is the education system like? I like these apartment tours also. Great video.

  14. Tearing down old to build new is every single city in the USA except Jacksonville Florida where I live. lol love the videos.

  15. Courtyard looks like prison, no open view, horrible. Older soviet developments at least have lots of park and green areas. This is why I never liked Chicago or NYC, now russians are copying already known bad architecture and designs, greed driven put as many peasants into tinny claustrophobic cubes.

  16. Maybe a pully system that lowers the bed from the ceiling for sleeping and raises it during the day for more usable space. Ask Yuri if they have ever done this in a studio before. A Murphy bed would work as well. I really love this apartment and could see myself living in it but with that bed out all the time, I'm not sure it's as practical. Definitely good for a single person. I don't see two people living in such a tight space. The view is amazing.

  17. its 936€. wow .nice equipped, high standards n safety. but for a studio in moscow? wow ..thats expensive compared to other european capital cities.

  18. How can anyone buy real estate in Russia with the interest rates at 21% ? I’m guessing it has to be a cash buy?

  19. These apartments are not "typical". Yes, a new building, yes, a beautiful lobby. But it's not cozy. It's just a hotel room for one person. Even a young family of two would feel bad there. The furniture arrangement is terrible. Why a sofa and a bed?

  20. Moscow is really a beautiful city that I do hope to visit one day. I love all the glass and brick exteriors on these. That view is really amazing but a bit frightening too.

  21. Children's playgrounds are required by law in Russia to be built for apartment complexes. There is a ratio required based on the size of the complex.

  22. What is the average monthly WAGE of a Muscovite and what is the percentage of their take home pay going to rental if you happen to know. ? and Thanks for the video interesting to know how people live in different places

  23. wow..prices are rising in Russia. I find those prices expensive both for renting or buying, especially for such a tiny apartment.

  24. Love the color palette, very modern, but maybe it could become depressing since the color is dark and the space is small. It's weird that the couch is facing away from the tv. I think there wasn't room for a 3rd chair at the dining table. It's ok for a busy working person living solo. I'd feel bad for a pet having to live in a small space like that.

  25. Russian apartments are very similar to pods in Japan. I personally could not live in one small room. It's not like you can enjoy the outdoors because it is too cold.

  26. I think that’s a good idea – getting rid of the old decrepit buildings that are no longer cost effective and could be hazardous to live in. The multi stories are necessary due to influx and population explosions. So in terms of space the old building that housed say. 100 families can utilise +/- 2X the space and 50 X the families. Russia seems to be expecting a huge influx of well heeled citizens in the near future – the other video you showed us of several new buildings going up – not as grand as what we see here but nice nevertheless. Very flash.

  27. Does the sale price include the service of the building ie like body corporate fees and what about rates and taxes? OH YES I COULD ABSOLUTELY LIVE IN IT. What I love are the play areas and how safe the children can be. The other thing is Russia is so clean.

  28. Nice tour, I like looking at all these but it would be too small and dark for my liking. I do love the big window.

  29. Yes nice apartments
Have you heard rumours that the russian central bank will either freeze customers bank accounts or limit customer withdrawals to say 1000 roubles a day?

  30. Man, what an unusual accent you have.

I swear I can hear Aussie, with hints of South African and British hahaha

  31. 4:55 The New Year tree is taken down whenever its owner wants. Some people have it up until January 14 (Old New Year), some, like me, until January 19 (Orthodox Epiphany), others until February 1, and the especially lazy ones only take the tree out on May 1))
