When Kindness Feels Awkward 🇳🇦 vA 154
I ride from Mariental to Tses, via Gibeon, in Namibia, in Africa.
On the first day, as I ride towards Gibeon, a car stops me, and a woman, amazed by my journey, gives me money to buy a cold drink. It’s the first time that I receive free money on my journey, and it actually feels quite weird to me.
Later on, I reach Gibeon and I find the only guest house in the village thanks to the help of some funny local kids.
The next day, on my way to Tses, I meet some friendly South Africans, and also some local workers who become beggars as soon as they see me.

Je crois que elle venait d’une espace de beau geste, une contribution à une entreprise qui mérite d’être encouragée 😊
I don’t think Yves did anything disrespectful regarding the lady giving him money? He thanked her and went on his way before explaining the cultural differences between France and parts of Africa, even acknowledging that the lady did a very nice thing.
That lady called she wants her money back
Thank you for taking me/us on your wonderful journey through all the beautiful countrys.
one thing that stands out this guy's travel videos is he doesn't try to show professional camera angles shots, drone shots, videographer shots. His videos are simple vlog just like a traveller's real time experiance and views.
Nice papa
Be humble kino be humble remember 80%of your follows are Africans
No doubt you've inspired millions of people to buy a recumbent tadpole trike with electric assistance. I just bought a fat tire trike from Utah trikes.
The money was iin appreciation of what you do and who you are. You give us a view of something we would like to do but never will.
Mr. Kino Hyves while you were eating beside the road side, there is good question you asked."why do this continent having alot of hungry people and yet the lands are fertile?" but to me there is alot of factors like bad governance and etc..
Yves my friend, with all respect. You still dont understand why people in such a rich continent like Africa is so poor and hungry.
The lady meant good,kind-hearted 1 ,just guying you water cause she didn't have some,n she liked what your doing ,didn't see anything wrong 😊
Yves you should try to get your journey on the BBC. They are always after stories like this.
I have seen bars and security wires at the counter of another business here.
I would starve to death before begging for money!
Only servise rendered can give you money!
GREAT PHILOSOPHY
All the people who are offended by what he said about the money are very likely African and are used to begging culture and are sad because they themselves are that way and for your info I am African!!
Sure there should be a battery that recharges as you puddle…no such technology? 😮
Last time you complained about inconsiderate people regarding fixing your battery now what was the point of telling that you would rather starve bla bla go back to France then if you don’t appreciate different cultures then, one would think as a traveller you know better, what a jerk
When you go to Rome, stay like Romans. You can not feel offended by someone who does not know your culture. She did it out of goodwill. Suppose she watches this clip.
The lady@6.25 is very kindhearted.
I LOVE HOW SHE SUPPORT YOU THAT WOME GOOD BLESS HER
White Africans are mostly in tall heights.
Hey Gino, usually you give money to others, so it's okay for once to receive it. Enjoy it!
Bonjour Yves,.
Bonne continuation. Je suis Tunisien et je regarde souvent votre YouTube vidéo en Allemagne. … Bonne Courage…
That lady reminded me of my late mother. Very kind, but annoyingly so.
You are still remember our country Ethiopia and all the regions
I really want to learn Nama.
But you give ppl money…who is stupid now ..? Do you wanna say we are poor or wat?
This guy is very arrogant and generalize everything with every little hiccup.
You've been complaining so much of bad reception in Africa now the good act is also bad. Next time stay in France & leave Africa alone we don't need people like you as if your race treat us better when we visit your countries.
One of my favorite
I couldn't help but admire that lady who gave some money perhaps believing Kino was riding for charity or helping a weary traveller. She's really of a kind with such a generous heart; authentic African generosity. Perhaps Kino shouldn't have filmed passing over the note to those kids; he should have kept it as a memento.
