I don't think firearms are allowed to normal citizens, if I understood correctly ( 2:08 ), and checkpoints outside are usually to check the license of the drivers as far as I have observed. So don't worry too much with the Philippine checkpoints. Also bags inspections at malls or some shops are something not to be alarmed at because they won't thoroughly check your bags; they do it just to check if you have objects that are prohibited inside like sharp objects. I'm commenting on this because I just noticed that it's a recurring thought or opinion from some foreign vloggers and to ease some tensions for those who are not used to seeing security at such places. They are actually the most convenient people whom you can ask for assistance or directions.

You guys got lucky with your credit card. I know that in Japan and Korea, you can easily get things back. But in the Philippines, it is different, although there are good people, but your chances of retrieving it is small compared to Japan and Korea. Be careful with your things and enjoy!

remember fellas, these hotel food lounges are not the "real cebu" that you'd usually go for if u wanna experience the city. they are on the expensive side of things which your average everyday cebu person does not go to. The "cebu feel" that you want to look into starts in Carbon food market and the surrounding shops, then the big Church near it and the surrounding street food.
