Kiyotsu Gorge, nestled in the scenic Niigata Prefecture of Japan, offers a captivating natural retreat for travelers seeking tranquility and awe-inspiring beauty. We went skiing in Yuzawa for my honeymoon tour, but in December 2023, there was no snow at all, and none of the ski resorts were open yet. Only Kagura Ski Resort was open, but only the top intermediate to advanced courses were available. It was a tough situation for beginners trying snowboarding for the first time.

Still, since we came all the way to Japan in winter, we wanted to see snow. We reluctantly took the ropeway at Tenjin-ike Ski Resort in Tanigawadake. Although the ski resort was not open, there was snow, and we were able to play around!
