The annual festival of Aoyama Kumano Shrine is held at Aoyama Kumano Shrine in Minami Aoyama, Minato Ward, Tokyo, and features a votive dance. It is known as the latest Bon Odori dance in Tokyo, and many dancers participate. The annual festival is usually held on the last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of September. The votive dance is held every day from 6:00 p.m. in Aoba Park. Aoba Park is located just behind the Twin Towers, just off the Aoyama 1-Chome intersection. The annual festival of a shrine is considered the most important festival at a shrine, and is held once or twice a year. Depending on the shrine, a day related to the enshrined deity or the history of the shrine is chosen.
