⁴ᴷ Yamanashi: Gekkoji Station (山梨県: 月江寺駅) – Japan Walking Tour (August, 2024)
I spent the weekend in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, so there was no view of Mount Fuji, and I ended up taking photos amidst the sound of thunder. The area near Gekkōji Station is known for its old red-light district, with some café-style buildings still standing. Like many towns with old entertainment districts, Fujiyoshida once thrived due to the textile industry, but much of that former vibrancy has faded. Nowadays, the city is known for its stunning views of Mount Fuji, which attracts many foreign tourists, making them a common sight when walking through the town.
