旧増毛小学校 Old Mashike Elementary School

旧増毛小学校は、第二次世界大戦の3年前の昭和11年(1936年)に建てられた木造二階建ての校舎で平成24年(2012年)までの76年間、木造校舎のまま使用されていた。校舎の中には昭和30年代に使用されていたオルガンや、児童が使っていた机や椅子ばどが残っている。体育館の中には、ニシン漁で栄えていた当時の「父母の会」から寄贈されたグランドピアノがあり、今でも弾くことができる。
6月から9月までは日曜日に限り校舎の中を見学できる。
Mashike Elementary School is a two-story wooden building that was built in 1936, three years before the start of World War II, and remained in use as a wooden building for 76 years until 2012 without being replaced. Inside the building, you can still find an organ that was used in the mid-1950s, as well as desks and chairs used by students at the time. The grand piano in the gymnasium was donated to the school by parents of students when herring fishing was popular and Mashike town was prosperous, and it can still be played today. You can tour the inside of the school on Sundays from June to September.
