Candal: Portugal’s Enchanting Schist Villages 😍
In hierdie video… Skifdorpie: Candal, Lousã, Portugal 14 Mei 2024 – 16:00 – 16 ºC Hallo almal! Vandag, vir die eerste keer op die kanaal, gaan ek vir julle een van Portugal se bekende skistedorpies wys: die dorpie Candal, in die munisipaliteit Lousã. Die "Aldeias do Xisto" (Schist Villages) is tradisionele dorpies… …geleë in die sentrale streek van Portugal. Hulle is spesifiek in die gebiede van die Lousã-bergreeks, die Açor-bergreeks en die Zêzere- en Tejo-Ocreza-valleie geleë. Schist Villages is vernoem na die plaaslike skeursteen wat in hul konstruksie gebruik word, wat hulle ‘n kenmerkende rustieke sjarme gee. Hierdie dorpies het baie van hul oorspronklike argitektuur en uitleg bewaar. Hulle weerspieël ‘n lewenswyse wat vir eeue grootliks onveranderd is. Candal is geleë op die westelike helling van die Lousã-bergreeks, sowat 210 km (130 myl) noordoos van Lissabon. Die naaste dorp is Lousã, sowat 10 km (6 myl) weg. Portugal – Spanje Coimbra – Lousã – Candal Hierdie bergreeks bied pragtige landskappe, met digte woude, strome en panoramiese uitsigte. Hou in gedagte dat sommige van die paaie hier ‘n bietjie gevaarlik is, want hulle is baie smal en langs afgronde. Dink twee keer voordat jy ‘n baie breë (of lang) voertuig in hierdie berge ry. Die pad na Candal is eintlik oukei, maar daar is baie erger. (In toekomstige video’s sal jy sien wat ek bedoel…) Ribeira de São João (Sint John’s Stream), reguit van die berg af. Ek hoop jy hou van hierdie tipe inhoud, aangesien verskeie van die video’s wat ek hierdie maand geskiet het in klein dorpies was. Deel asseblief jou terugvoer in die kommentaar afdeling hieronder. Ek het nog 3 of 4 video’s om te publiseer wat ek verlede jaar geskiet het, meeste van hulle in klein dorpies. Die geskiedenis van Candal is soortgelyk aan dié van die ander 4 skisdorpies in die munisipaliteit. Die bevolking het hulle in die 17de eeu permanent in hierdie bergdorpies gevestig. In 1911 het 129 mense in Candal gewoon. Kyk na hierdie klein kapel! Wag… ek dink ek het iets gesien… In die 1920’s het emigrasie na die VSA begin, maar tog het die bevolking van Candal in 1940 201 mense bereik. Teen 1991 het die dorpie net 15 inwoners gehad. Klein deurtjies! Tans woon nie meer as 10 mense in Candal nie. Baie huise is nou bereid om toeriste te verwelkom, en die dorpie begin ‘n paar jonger inwoners lok… …wat organiese boerdery beoefen. Oud-inwoners van Candal onderhou steeds hul tweede huise hier. ‘n Baie mooi tafel. Die meeste van die skisdorpies is amper in die 20ste eeu verlate, aangesien inwoners na stedelike gebiede verhuis het (of geëmigreer het) vir beter geleenthede. Pogings om die dorpe te bewaar en te laat herleef, het egter in die vroeë 2000’s begin. Daar is 27 dorpies wat die amptelike benaming "Schist Village" het, maar dit is nie die enigste plekke in Portugal met hierdie kenmerke nie. Hierdie projek is geskep deur die munisipaliteite van ‘n spesifieke streek, so skisdorpies in ander streke is nie ingesluit nie. Dit is een van die beste uitsigte in Candal. Die Schist Villages Network is ‘n volhoubare ontwikkelingsprojek, met die doel om toerisme in hierdie streek te bevorder en die plaaslike ekonomie ‘n hupstoot te gee, terwyl die erfenis en kultuur van hierdie dorpe lewend gehou word. Die hoogste punt in die dorp. As jy ‘n verblyf in Candal, of enige van die ander 26 dorpies wil bespreek, is hierdie die amptelike webwerf vir besprekings: bookinxisto.com (Dit is nie ‘n betaalde promosie nie). Om in Candal te bly bied ‘n kans om die tradisionele dorpslewe te ervaar. Die gemeenskap is klein, en besoekers kan met plaaslike inwoners kommunikeer om meer oor hul lewenswyse te leer. Walking tour of Candal, one of Portugal’s Schist Villages (“Aldeias do Xisto”), located in the municipality of Lousã. Schist Villages are named after the schist stone used in their construction. These villages have preserved much of their original architecture and layout, reflecting a way of life that has been largely unchanged for centuries. Candal offers an authentic experience of Portugal’s rural heritage.

As segundas residencias poem não ser uma solução mas agora impiden a ruina e fazem esperanza. Olhando os pequenos telhados sobre as janelas e portas e os telhados das casas penso que muitas veces a chuva e o vento são fortes, gostei de ver algumas das soluções das chamines exteriores e gostei mais ver que ninguem robou as esmolas a Santo Antonio. Great video, Miguel. Thank you for walking us around Candal. It is claimed that at the heart of the artistic creativity of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, whose best-known work is the “Falling Water” home he designed, was the notion of “organic architecture”. The notion supposedly made Wright’s work distinct, superior, and unquestionably American. I think the schist villages of Portugal, like Candal, would beg to differ. If the weeds growing in the crevices formed by the overlaid schist stones, the moss thriving on the roofs of homes, and the singing streams flowing by could talk (make that “sing” for the streams), they would tell Mr. Wright that he was “wrong”, that organic architecture is, for lack of a better word, “organic”, not an architect’s notion. Indeed, your video suggests that only two things about Candal are a “notion”: 1) that what revives the village in July and August is “organic tourism” and 2) that while the cat at minute 38:45 of the video is “organic”, the one at minute 15:10 is merely the “ceramic” notion of a cat.

Boa tarde Miguel, realmente essas aldeias de Xisto em Portugal parece que é uma volta ao período medieval ou está na aldeia Hobbit da saga do Senhor dos anéis. Realmente são belíssimas. Minha visão da dificuldade que tem em manter a população seria aos jovens poucas oportunidades e as pessoas mais idosas seria no sentindo de locomoção, por isso diria que acaba por ficarem num "limbo populacional". Esses vídeos de vilas, aldeias e cidades pequenas são os melhores, pois as vezes para os turistas passam despercebidos pois apenas as grandes cidades entram em seus roteiros, e assim você mostra para nós 👏. Poderia se possível é claro, incluir a culinária local que com certeza tem algo específico… abraços tenha uma ótima semana e parabéns pelo vídeo 👏🤝

O verde das serras, o cinzento das casas, o som da água da ribeira a correr por entre as pedras, límpida….. É a natureza com toda a sua exuberância, a tranquilidade que se sentia naquele lugar…. Boa tarde Miguel, eu acho que essas aldeias de xisto são a essência de Portugal, quem quizer conhecer o país de facto,
tem que ir para o interior, é aí que está a cultura e história da nação. Os únicos barulhos que se escutam são o da água e
dos chilreado dos pássaros e muita atenção ao subir e descer esses degraus com musgo, pois são muito escorregadios
e um vacilo e lá se vão as costas. Ainda bem Miguel que as autarquias veem essas aldeias como modo de renda e estão
recuperando as mesmas para o turismo. Vi um video onde um arquiteto portugues está recuperando uma aldeia, instalou
um restaurante e vive do turismo. Parabens. Um abraço e que venham outros trabalhos.

Здравейте, Мигел! Това е може би е най–близко до сърцето ми видео. Тези шистови села имат неповторима атмосфера. Построяването на къщите, оградите и улиците е уникално – подредбата на различни по големина и структура парчета камък изисква голямо майсторство от строителите. И е факт, че те се запазват през вековете. Интересно ми е как са преживявали хората – животновъдство или земеделие?Такива селища има в планинските райони на България. Моят три пъти прадядо е бил архитект и строител на много подобни обекти, включително неговата къща и църква в планината Родопи, село Косово – средата на 19 век. Тя съществува и днес като скъп хотел. Но не е моя собственост, за съжаление. Изградил е и най–емблематичните днес къщи на богатите в старата част на родния ми град Пловдив, макар и в друг стил. Споделям това, защото видеото ме развълнува и виждам красив исторически архитектурен паралел, макар да сме отдалечени на хиляди километри. Намирате начин всеки път да ме удивлявате с показаното. А чувството ви за хумор много ми допада. Хубаво е, че видяхме и котка, тя е душата на дадено място.

Tirando as subidas, já que "para baixo todo santo ajuda", é um lugar lindíssimo e maravilhoso para se viver! Aqui no Brasil é o que chamamos de "viver na roça". Eu amei as árvores, os riachos, o verde e toda a paisagem do lugar! E que sossego!
