春の京都　桜巡り 2024_04 京都御苑 近衛の糸桜

Spring cherry blossom season has arrived in Kyoto.
This year, the blooming is a little later than last year.
Meanwhile, the weeping cherry blossoms at Kyoto Gyoen National Garden were in full bloom on March 31st.
So,
this time we will take a look at the Konoe Itozakura in Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.
Access from Kyoto Station will be introduced at the end.
Kyoto Gyoen is a park centered on the Kyoto Imperial Palace and
surrounding noble residences.
Many of the trees in the garden were originally located at the residence of the nobleman.
After seeing the weeping cherry blossoms in Demizu,
we headed north while looking at the cherry blossoms in the Gyoen National Garden.
As of March 31st, when I took this photo,
there wasn’t much blooming other than the early cherry blossoms.
Konoe’s Itozakura, as its name suggests, is a weeping cherry tree that was located in the Konoe residence.
Like Demizu’s Weeping Cherry Blossoms, it was crowded with many cherry blossom viewing visitors.
Unlike Demizu’s weeping cherry blossoms,
this one has a large number of cherry blossoms that please the eyes of cherry blossom viewers.
After seeing the cherry blossoms in Konoe, we headed to Gion/Maruyama Park.
Next time, we will take a look at Gion Shidare where the bonfires are lit.
Konoe Itozakura is one of the representative cherry blossoms in Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.

Take the municipal subway Karasuma Line and get off at Imadegawa Station in about 10 minutes.
From Exit 3, go east to Imadegawa Gate.
From Exit 3, go south to Inui Gate.
All about 5 minutes walk.
