Zhouzhuang (周庄) is one of the most famous water towns in China, often hailed as the “Venice of the East.” Nestled in the Jiangsu Province, near Shanghai (上海) and Suzhou (蘇州), this enchanting town boasts a history that spans over 900 years, featuring well-preserved buildings and bridges from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Zhouzhuang is also famous for its local cuisine, especially the Wansan pork shank, named after the “Godfather of the Town,” Shen Wansan, the wealthiest man of the early Ming Dynasty. This dish is slow-cooked to perfection, highlighting the rich culinary traditions of the region.
