大三巴牌坊（葡萄牙語：Ruínas de São Paulo）是澳門天主之母教堂（即聖保祿教堂）正面前壁的遺址，屬於「聖保祿學院天主之母教堂遺址（大三巴牌坊、前 地及石階）」的組成部分之一，亦是澳門的標誌性建築之一。 「大三巴」一名為華人對聖保祿學院及教堂的稱呼，出自聖保祿的葡萄牙文「São Paulo」的漢語譯音。
大三巴牌坊的前身聖保祿教堂是由天主教耶穌會士創辦的聖保祿學院的附屬部分，該學院成立於1594年，結束於1762年，是遠東地區及中國第一所西式大學，當中 設有文法學部、人文學部、倫理神學部等。 學院培養了大批傳教士到日本、中國大陸、越南、泰國、柬埔寨等地傳教，是天主教傳教士在遠東區傳教的重要的培訓基地，在大三巴牌坊的遺址下安放了不少為了信仰而 不惜流血捨身的殉道者的遺骸。 聖保祿教堂曾經是耶穌會士在澳門和遠東最壯麗的一座教堂，基本上建成於1603年，1608年開始建造教堂前壁（現大三巴牌坊），於1637年至1640年完工，前壁 上的雕刻及塑像則在1644年才最終完成。 在1835年，最後一場大火就燒毀了聖保祿學院及教堂，最終剩下教堂正面前壁、部分地基以及教堂前的石階。 由於當地華人認為教堂前壁形似中國的傳統牌坊，故稱之為「大三巴牌坊」。

議事亭前地（葡萄牙語：Largo do Senado），俗稱“噴水池”，是澳門的一個廣場，位居澳門半島中區，面積3,700平方米，是澳門四大廣場之一。 2005年作為澳門歷史城區的部分被列入世界文化遺產名錄內。 議事亭前地北連板樟堂前地，南臨新馬路，南闊北窄，呈狹長的三角形，為熱鬧的商業及文化活動區。
因位處明朝起中國官員以至葡萄牙人議事機構－澳門議事會（即今市政署大樓）前，故而得名。 議事亭前地為處澳門中心區域，歷來上任的澳門總督，必在此舉行儀式，檢閱駐澳門的海陸軍隊。 1940年，曾豎立一個攻打前山砲台和殺害清朝將士之葡萄牙軍官美士基打銅像，文革期間被華人群眾拉倒，原地則被改建一噴水池至今，俗稱因此而成。
議事亭前地周圍一帶的建築物極富有歐洲特色，許多已被評為紀念物及具建築藝術價值的建築物。 列入受文物保護之建築物，其門面都不許改動，只可改動室內架構。 九十年代初，澳葡政府更重金聘請葡萄牙的技師以黑白相間之葡國石鋪砌前地及相連街道地面，使之成為帶葡萄牙城市風格的行人專用區，現除了遊客必到之處外， 議事亭前地仍是澳門社區活動的熱門地點。

It has departments of grammar, humanities, ethics and theology, etc. The college has trained a large number of missionaries to preach in Japan, mainland China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and other places. It is an important training base for Catholic missionaries to preach in the Far East. Under the ruins of the Ruins of St. Paul’s, there are many memorials dedicated to faith. The remains of martyrs who sacrificed their lives without hesitation. St. Paul’s Church was once the most magnificent church of the Jesuits in Macau and the Far East. It was basically completed in 1603. The construction of the front wall of the church (now the Ruins of St. Paul’s) began in 1608 and was completed from 1637 to 1640. The sculptures and statues on it were finally completed in 1644. In 1835, the last fire destroyed St. Paul’s College and the church, leaving only the front wall of the church, part of the foundation, and the stone steps in front of the church. Because the local Chinese believe that the front wall of the church resembles a traditional Chinese archway, it is called the “Ruins of St. Paul’s Archway”.

Senado Square (Portuguese: Largo do Senado), commonly known as the “Fountain”, is a square in Macau. It is located in the central area of the Macau Peninsula and covers an area of 3,700 square meters. It is one of the four major squares in Macau. In 2005, it was included in the World Cultural Heritage List as part of the Historic Center of Macau. The area in front of the Senado Pavilion is connected to the area in front of Banzhang Hall to the north and Xinma Road to the south. It is wide in the south and narrow in the north, forming a long and narrow triangle. It is a lively commercial and cultural activity area.
It got its name because it was located in front of the Macau Assembly (now the Municipal Affairs Bureau Building), a deliberation body for Chinese officials and even the Portuguese since the Ming Dynasty. Senado Square is located in the central area of Macau. The Governor of Macau has always held a ceremony here to review the navy and army stationed in Macau. In 1940, a bronze statue of Meschi, a Portuguese officer who attacked the Qianshan fort and killed the Qing Dynasty soldiers, was erected.
