A cute Japanese girl Sasaranbo guided me around Asakusa at night by rickshaw😊

She: Oh, it’s already started? Me: Yeah. She: Okay, I have a Lamborghini for you. Me: Thank you. She: Let’s go. She: Hey, look. I’m using the microphone for the first time. Tokyo Rickshaw staff: I think you are tapping the mic, so it’ll make noise.

She: Oh, sorry. Should I not tap this too much? Me: Yeah. Tokyo Rickshaw staff: Please take good care of it. She: Okay. She: Please watch your step and ride carefully. Me: Thank you. She: Shall I open the roof? Me: Yes, please. She: Sure. She: The roof of this rickshaw opens automatically. Me: Wow.

She: Thank you. She: It’s cold today, so please use this blanket. Me: Thank you. She: Could you hold this here for a moment? Me: Sure. Me: Are you well prepared? She: Yeah. She: I’m a little nervous. She: Not cold? Me: I’m fine. Thank you.

She: Cherry blossoms are already in full bloom in Asakusa. Me: Oh, really? Me: I didn’t know the cherry blossoms were already in bloom. She: Yeah. She: But today, I’m a dumpling rather than a flower. Me: Yeah. She: Okay, we’re ready. Me: Thank you. She: Now, please lean back. Me: Yeah. She: Okay, 1,2,3.

She: Okay, let’s go. She: We’re off! Tokyo Rickshaw staff: Good luck! She: Well, our tour has started! Me: Yeah. Me: Asakusa at night has a nice atmosphere. She: Yeah, you’re right. She: Okay, I’ll introduce myself. Me: Yeah. She: I’ll be your driver today. She: I’m “Sasara Takada” from Tokyo Rickshaw.

Me: Sasara-chan? She: Yeah. She: Please call me “Sasarambo”. Me: Yeah, thank you for introducing yourself. Me: It’s a nickname like cherry(=”Sakuranbo”). She: Yeah. She: The nickname “Sasarambo” has other meanings. She: This is a Sasarambo’s Lamborghini. In other words, it’s a “Sasa Lamborghini”. She: Oh, my joke bombed?

Me: Oh, don’t worry, your joke was very funny. She: But you didn’t laugh at all. Me: You have a unique and nice self-introduction. She: I’m wondering if I should make a new self-introduction. She: My self introduction jokes sometimes bomb. Me: Your self introduction joke was funny. She: Really?

Me: The name “Sasara” is an unusual name, right? She: Yeah, that’s right. She: I’ll check the time. Me: Yeah. She: The time now is 6:11 p.m. She: We will return to this point about 30 minutes later, at about 6:41 pm. Me: Okay. Thank you. She: Let’s enjoy together. Me: Yeah.

She: Okay, let’s go! Me: When did you debut? She: Let’s see, I debuted at… She: I debuted on February 19. Me: About two weeks ago. She: Yeah. She: It has been two weeks since my debut. Me: I rode on your rickshaw the day you made your debut.

She: Yeah, so it’s been two weeks since you have ridden on my rickshaw. She: It felt much longer. Me: I’m sure that’s because you’re coming to work a lot. She: Yeah, I came to work a lot.

Me: Recently I have often seen you in Asakusa. She: Yeah, you were riding Yura-chan’s rickshaw the other day. Me: Yeah. She: I would like to ride on her rickshaw too. She: You have ridden on rickshaws driven by a variety of drivers, right? Me: Yeah, so I’m always grateful to you guys. She: Wow.

She: I too would like to ride on a rickshaw with a girl driver. Me: Have you ever ridden on a rickshaw driven by a Tokyo Rickshaw’s driver? She: Yeah, I have ridden on a rickshaw driven by Shige-san.

She: But that was part of my rickshaw training, so I have never ridden on a rickshaw in private. Me: Oh, I see. She: Take a look! That is the Kaminarimon Gate. Me: Yeah. She: Oh, Satomin is there. Me: Oh, I find Satomin.

Me: I see a lot of rickshaw drivers are at work today. She: Yeah. She: Since it is cherry blossom season and there are many tourists, so many rickshaw drivers are also coming to work. Me: Japan is on spring break now, right? She: That’s right. Me: Are you a college student?

She: Yeah, I’m a college student. Me: Oh, I see. Me: Do you come to work a lot during spring break? She: Yeah. Me: How do you feel about starting this job? She: I’m feeling the difficulty. She: I was very useless when I was a trainee. Me: Oh, really?

She: I believed I could do better once I made my debut. She: But I was a useless as a trainee, and I will remain a useless after my debut. Me: Don’t feel that way. From the first time I rode on your rickshaw, I have found your guide enjoyable.

She: I’m not always able to guide well. Me: I would like to listen to your guide when we enter Orange Street. She: Sure. She: Just do what I always do? Me: Yeah. She: Okay. She: It’s surprisingly difficult to do what I always do. Me: Yeah. She: Okay, let’s do it.

She: This street is called “Orange Street”. She: There are many sweet potato sweets stores on this street. Me: Oh, I see. She: Do you like sweet potatoes? Me: Yeah, I like them. She: Good. Me: How about you? She: I like sweet potatoes too.

She: The candied sweet potatoes and sweet potato cake at this store are very popular. She: The name of the store is “Koshin”. Me: Yeah. Me: The sweet potato cake at this store is excellent. She: Exactly.

She: It’s in a cup, so it’s perfect for eating while walking around and sightseeing in Asakusa. Me: Yeah, you’re right. She: On the left is the store I went to many times. She: A Taiyaki(Fish shaped cake with filling inside) store. Me: This taiyaki store is very popular in Asakusa. She: Yeah.

She: This store is conveniently open until late at night. She: This store is open until about 10:00 p.m. Me: Yeah, when I walk down this street after work, I can smell the delicious smell of taiyaki. She: Yeah. She: Of all the taiyakis from that store, I recommend the “Imo Kintoki” flavored the best.

Me: Is that sweet potato flavored taiyaki? She: Yeah. She: Would you like to take pictures today? Me: Thank you, but don’t worry about the take pictures today. Me: Could you turn left here? She: Okay. Me: Maybe the store is already closed today. She: Yeah.

Me: Today we are planning to enjoy dumplings better than flowers. She: Yeah. Me: We are going to the dumpling store now. She: Dumplings are better than flowers. Me: This street is beautiful at night. She: I agree. She: It is the atmosphere of Asakusa. Me: You’re right.

She: Your channel’s videos are watched by a lot of foreign viewers. Me: Yeah. She: And my colleague drivers often watch the videos on your channel. Me: Ah, yeah. She: So I’m a nervous. She: Oh, it looks like the store is already closed today. Me: Oh, yeah.

She: That’s too bad. Store is closed. Me: Yeah. Me: Well, shall we go together now to a taiyaki store that has recently opened nearby? She: Recently opened taiyaki store? Me: Yeah, that store is just down the street here, in front of the police station.

She: Oh, did that store just open recently? Me: Yeah. Me: Shall we go to that store together? She: Good idea, let’s go. Me: Maybe this store is sold out of dumplings today. She: Wow. Me: Because the closing time of this store has not come yet.

She: Viewers, if you want to go to that store, I suggest you go during the day. Me: Yeah, I agree. She: I also recommend a pastry shop over there called “Milk no Ki”. Me: Yeah. Me: By the way, can you guide foreign customers? She: Yeah, I use passion.

She: The important thing is the heart. Me: I see. She: I’m not good at English yet. She: But recently I have been studying English, so I’m learning English vocabulary little by little. Me: That’s good. She: Please give me a little more time until I can speak English well.

Me: Even now, foreign customers can ride on your rickshaw if they wish, right? She: Yeah, of course. She: Now I’m still using Passion to guide for my customers. Me: Yeah. She: And one day I will be able to use perfect English. Me: I look forward to that day.

She: This is the “Engei Hall”. I’ll introduce a few things. Me: Thank you. She: The Engei Hall is most beautiful at this time of the day. Me: Oh, you’re right. She: Asakusa is famous for its “comedy”. And “Engei Hall” is famous as a place to enjoy comedy. She: This is the Engei Hall.

She: Can I introduce more? Me: Yeah. Please do. She: In this building, “rakugo” or “manzai” are performed. She: Paper cutouts and magic tricks show are also performed. She: Visitors can enjoy a variety of performances throughout the day. Me: Oh, I see. She: Do you see the wooden tag over there? Me: Yeah.

She: There are two types of wooden tags, one with black words and the other with red words. She: Wooden tags written in black words describe the performance to be enjoyed by the ears. She: Wooden tags written in red words describe the performance to be enjoyed by the eyes. She: Eyes.

She: Black words are ears. She: Red and black performances will be shown alternately. She: If you are interested, go there. Me: Sounds very interesting. She: Should I introduce it with more humor? Me: You gave a very nice introduction. She: Really? You give me a lot of compliments.

She: I perform better when I’m complimented. Me: Viewers, if you get a chance to ride on her rickshaw, please give her lots of compliments. She: Yeah, please. She: Oh, the taiyaki store is still open. Me: Yeah. Good. She: Which taiyaki would you like to eat? Me: Well…

She: My recommendation is the “chashu taiyaki”. Me: Oh, good. She: Can I have a one chashu taiyaki, please? Me: Oh, two please. Me: We got taiyaki. She: This is taiyaki. Me: This taiyaki is a unique taiyaki with thick chashu pork sandwiched in between and topped with mayonnaise. Me: Try it if you want.

She: Oh, I can eat it? Me: Of course. She: Thank you. She: This is my first time doing a food report. She: I’m a big fan of this. She: I have had this many times. Me: Wow.

She: Even if tourists want to eat something salty in Asakusa, most of the food sold is fried. She: But this is not fried food, so I’d recommend it. She: Let’s eat. She: I love this. Me: This chashu is very good, authentic chashu like that found in ramen restaurants.

She: It is said that eating taiyaki head first makes you smarter. Me: Oh, really? She: It is said that eating from the tail makes you faster on your feet. Me: From which did you eat? She: Head. She: Because that’s what I need right now.

She: My foot is already faster. Because I started this job. Me: Yeah. Me: Okay, let’s stop shooting once and eat slowly. She: Thank you. Me: That was delicious. She: Yeah, so much. She: Then let’s depart. Me: Yeah. Me: Have you ever eaten a variety of foods in Asakusa?

She: Yeah, I’ve eaten various foods in Asakusa. Me: Do you have a favorite restaurant? She: Well… She: Restaurant? Me: Yeah. She: Let’s see… She: I often go to eat monjayaki. Me: Have a favorite monjayaki restaurant? She: Yeah, “Ocomo”. Me: Oh, Ocomo. She: That restaurant has all-you-can-eat. She: I love to eat.

She: So I often go to all-you-can-eat restaurants. Me: Are you old enough to drink alcohol? She: No, I’m not yet. Me: Oh, I see. She: I can’t wait to try the drink alcohol. Me: Yeah.

She: I would like to go to Kamiya Bar for my 20th birthday and have a glass of electric blanc. Me: The first drink in your life is an electric blanc? She: Yeah. Me: Wow. Me: That drink has a very high alcohol content and I recommend you drink it with caution.

She: Have you ever taken it? Me: No, I cannot drink that one due to my constitution. She: Oh, I see. She: I have heard that the alcohol content of that drink is 40 percentage. Me: 40 percentage is a dangerous alcohol level for people who are not used to drinking. She: Yeah.

She: The alcohol content of a typical alcoholic drink sold in convenience stores is about 5 percent, right? Me: Yeah, that’s right. She: That’s 8 times more than that? Wow. She: That’s amazing. Me: You’re turning 20 this year? She: Yeah. Me: Wow. She: I look forward to that day coming.

She: I have many things I want to do when I turn 20. Me: For example? She: I have never been to foreign countries and would like to visit Antarctica. Me: Wow. Me: I know that a few rickshaw drivers recently took a trip to Antarctica. She: Yeah.

Me: By the way, why did you start this job? She: Oh, the reason I started this job? She: Riho-chan, a rickshaw driver, is a senior member of my club at school. Me: Which Riho-chan? She: “Riho Kuchi”. Me: Yeah.

She: She had a certain part-time job at Tokyo Rickshaw and invited me to join this job. She: Riho-chan is a very nice person. Me: Yeah. Me: She has a proactive personality. She: That’s right. She: I don’t have enough proactivity like her. Me: What do you do in school club activities? She: Softball.

Me: Wow, what’s your position? She: You want to know? She: I’m a pitcher. Me: Wow, that’s amazing. Me: What is the velocity of the ball you throw? She: I can throw about 50 mph. Me: Wow. Me: I can’t throw a pitch as fast as you can, even with an overhand throw.

She: No, I bet you throw faster pitches. Me: You had some exercise experience before you started this job. She: Yeah. She: I was confident in my physical strength and wanted to earn money while exercising. She: Oh, should I not talk about this in the video? Me: No problem. Don’t worry about it.

She: I thought driving would not be too much of a challenge. She: But I had a very hard time driving when I was a trainee. Me: What were the hardest parts of driving? She: Slopes. Me: Is it hard to drive uphill with a rickshaw, even if you are an experienced softball player?

She: Yeah, very hard. She: Need tips. Me: Other drivers also said they had a tips for going up slopes. What kind of tips? She: Power is not necessary, balance is important. She: No need the power to drive, veteran drivers can drive a rickshaw even with just one finger.

She: I have a habit of wasting too much power. So I had a hard time. Me: I see. Me: What you just told me was very interesting. She: Viewers, if you are interested, would you be interested in being a driver? Me: Yeah, if you viewers are interested, you should try it.

She: Viewers, join us and drive a rickshaw with us. Me: Yeah. Me: Tokyo Rickshaw is looking for drivers, and the number of drivers is increasing. She: Yeah. But… She: I feel sad because graduation season will soon be coming. Me: Yeah… She: I’m sure I would cry.

She: I love these college seniors who will soon be graduating drivers. She: Any number of words of love for them come to mind. Me: Tokyo Rickshaw drivers get along very well with each other. She: Yeah, that’s right. She: A bit upscale, this restaurant is good. Me: Oh, “Matsumani”? She: Yeah.

She: Should go that restaurant when you want to feel rich. Me: Have you ever been there? She: Yeah, I have. Me: Good. Me: That restaurant is a steak restaurant, right? She: That’s right. She: The chef will grill the meat on a griddle right in front of you.

Me: It’s a wonderful experience. She: Yeah. She: Oh, thank you. Me: Viewers, the woman driving the car gave words of support to Sasaranbo. She: I’m glad that so many people support me. Me: You have a vibe that makes people want to support you. She: Oh, really? Thank you.

She: I have made many mistakes, but I have gotten through them with a smile. Me: I think that’s your talent. Me: You said at the beginning you were nervous, but you did a great job guiding me today and I had a lot of fun. She: Wow, you’re good at giving compliments.

Me: Thanks to you I think the viewers are enjoying this video as well. She: I’m embarrassed. Me: It’s cool to see the back of a driver driving down this street at night. She: Oh, really? She: This red uniform is my favorite. Me: Yeah.

Me: This red uniform is the only one you can get if you don’t debut as a driver. She: That’s right. She: I did my best to wear this red uniform. Me: Yeah. Me: It’s a cool view. She: My face is ugly when I’m checking behind me, right? Me: Oh, that’s not true.

She: I take care to check behind with a smile on my face as much as possible. Me: Oh, what’s this? She: It is under construction now. Me: It is marked as a parcade. She: I don’t know what will be built here. Me: It’s a festive atmosphere. She: Yeah.

Me: Oh, we’re almost to the goal. She: Yeah. She: Recently, the rule has been changed to allow only two rickshaws to be parked at each company. Me: Oh, I see. She: I don’t know if we can park now. She: Hey, Jimmy. We’re back.

She: I often forget to signal here and get angry with the manager. She: So I signaled loudly. Me: You experienced softball player, so your loudness is great. She: I’m embarrassed. Me: Your loudness was wonderful. She: Really? It’s my appeal points. She: Oh, “Naoki”. She: Hi.

She: Tokyo Rickshaw has many cool drivers. Me: Yeah, I agree. She: Jimmy is a kindly manager. Me: Yeah, I know how kind he is too. She: We’re back! Tokyo Rickshaw staff: Welcome back! She: Then, this is the end point. She: Thank you for the ride today. Me: Thank you too.

She: I’ll put it down.1,2,3. She: I’ll unbuckle your seatbelt. Me: Thank you. She: Now, please wait a moment over there. Me: Okay. Me: Thank you for helping me shoot today. She: Thank you too. Me: I’ll come back for a ride. She: Yeah, I’ll be waiting. Me: See you again. She: Thank you.

Your videos are peaceful and hopeful 😊❤️

  3. amazing video, only 2 weeks she is a driver but she does the guide like she is doing it for very long time. big respect for her. i hope someday i can also be guided around Asakusa, the more videos i watch the more excited i become to visit your country.

  4. Wow I couldn't tell that its night if I didnt see the sky. Its so bright in the streets. I guess stars won't be visible at all. This is a bit sad. Rickshaw driver seems to be a good job for college students, because you earn money and work out at the same time. So you have more time to study.

  5. Thank you, I always enjoy your filming and the people you talk to. I wish luck with Sasara Takada's in her studies and in Tokyo Rickshaw. I always get a nice feeling from the company and the people it has hired. It is a tough job having to be pleasant, remember your facts and pull around a heavy weight, but it is all done pleasantly. Take care.
