Asakusa Dori, which the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has designated as a common road name, is a 5km round trip road with 4 to 6 lanes running from the Ueno Station intersection on Showa Dori in Higashiueno, Taito Ward, to the Fukujinbashi intersection on Meiji Dori in Kameido, Koto Ward.
A large red lantern with the word “Kaminarimon” written on it. The area in front of Kaminarimon, the symbol of Asakusa, is always crowded with people from Japan and abroad taking commemorative photos.
Kaminarimon is the main gate of Sensoji Temple, and its official name is “Furaijinmon”. The date of its construction is not clear, but it is said that when Taira Kimimasa renovated the hall and tower in 942, he built the main gate in a Komagata shape.
東京都が通称道路名として定めている浅草通りは、台東区東上野の昭和通りの上野駅交差点から、江東区亀戸の明治通りの福神橋交差点に至る延長5kmの往復4～6車線の都道です。
「雷門」と書かれた赤い大提灯。浅草のシンボル・雷門の前は、記念写真におさまる国内外の人びとでいつも賑わっている。
雷門は浅草寺の総門であり、正式名称は「風雷神門」という。その創建年代は詳らかではないが、平公雅が天慶5年（942）に堂塔伽藍を一新した際、総門を駒形に建立したと伝わる。
