This Youtube Video has subtitles.I came to Asakusa, a popular tourist spot in the Japanese city of Tokyo. We’d like to introduce a plan that takes you from Sensoji Temple, one of Tokyo’s most famous tourist spots, to Tokyo Skytree in one day.

We hope you find this helpful as a reference for sightseeing in Tokyo. Let’s start the video! a lot of people. Kaminarimon. Skytree is too big! I’ve climbed many different towers, but Skytree is by far the biggest. Pass through Kaminarimon and go around Nakamise Street. The official name of

The main gate of Sensoji Temple, Kaminarimon, is “Furaijinmon”, and inside the gate there are statues of Raijin, the god of thunder, and Fujin, the god of wind. Let’s go through Kaminarimon and go to Nakamise Street. The current large lantern was rebuilt by Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic.

Once you pass through Kaminarimon, there is an approach road called Nakamise Dori that continues for about 250 meters to Sensoji Temple. It is said to be Japan’s oldest shopping street and is home to about 90 shops, including long-established Japanese sweets shops and retro Japanese miscellaneous goods stores. Yumi loves tasting food.

Please note that eating while walking on Nakamise Street is prohibited. Asakusa Kibidango Azuma is a famous Kibidango shop. We have recreated the millet dumplings in front of the gate that existed in the Edo period and are selling demonstrations at the store.

Chilled matcha is sold in the summer, and amazake is sold in the winter, both of which are popular. I bought the most popular specialty, Kibidango. There are four small dumplings on a skewer, and a large amount of kinako is sprinkled on top. It’s 400 yen and contains 5 pieces.

I ate it in one bite. good! If you eat it in one bite, you can eat it without spilling the kinako. Don’t worry if you get choked. Children should be careful not to imitate. I came to a tempura specialty store called “Daikokuya Tempura” located on Denpoin Street, one street away from Nakamise Street.

This is a super long-established store that was founded in 1887 and has been around for over 100 years. I arrived 30 minutes before opening, and there were already about 5 people in line. There are no waiting boards, and you will be guided in the order you line up.

It’s a popular restaurant, so I came early and there was a line. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten tempura from a tempura specialty restaurant. Tempura from a tempura specialty store is exceptionally delicious. There were about 50 people lined up in front of the store at opening time.

There are three types of Tendon in total. There is also a shrimp, kisu, and kakiage set, as well as a shrimp tempura bowl with four shrimp. Well, it’s a classic, but it’s the top tempura bowl. A tempura bowl topped with three types of tempura: shrimp, fish, and kakiage.

I feel like I’m soaking in this sauce. it looks delicious. Is this normal for tempura in Tokyo? I’m from Tokyo, but I’ve hardly ever been to a tempura specialty restaurant, so I don’t know. The sauce seeps into the tempura. After eating tempura, I eat white rice. Ah, it’s delicious!

The tempura has a moist texture rather than a crispy texture. Is this the taste of Kanto? different? I’ve never been to a tempura specialty restaurant in Kansai, so I don’t know. It goes well with pickles. I was really happy with the large amount of pickles that came with it.

The pickles have a light flavor, so they go perfectly with the strong-flavored tempura bowl. Thank you for the meal! I finished it all without leaving a single grain! There are a lot of people there. In the afternoon, the number of people on Nakamise Street had increased considerably. I want to eat sweets.

There is strawberry daifuku! Oh, okay, let’s eat strawberry daifuku! I bought and ate strawberry daifuku at Ginkado. Originally a store that sold Japanese miscellaneous goods, it was renovated in 2022 and now sells fruits and Japanese sweets. Strawberry Daifuku. How can I strain this in half? Don’t drop it!

You ate the most delicious part of the strawberry. The red bean paste inside has salt in it, which goes well with the sourness of the strawberries. It’s filled with plenty of fine-grained strained red bean paste, and is a must-have for those with a sweet tooth. Sorry for the mess around my mouth.

Asakusa’s specialty ningyo-yaki. A long-established store that sells ningyo-yaki and hand-baked rice crackers. All hand-baked Ningyoyaki has a thin skin and plenty of red bean paste. There are two types: with red bean paste and without red bean paste. I bought 6 pieces with red bean paste. It has a nice sweet smell.

It smells like baby castella. It is baked in the shape of things related to Asakusa. It says Asakusa. hot! It’s freshly baked, so the red bean paste inside is piping hot. There is a lot of red bean paste and the dough is very thin. It’s like eating red bean paste.

You can feel the warmth when you put your hand in it. What is this written? Nakamise! It’s fun to have different shapes. I like that it’s packed so that the pattern doesn’t overlap. It was my first time eating Ningyoyaki. From a Kanto person’s perspective, this is a surprising fact.

In Osaka, there is a sweet called “Gozakou” that is similar to Ningyoyaki. Is Gozaso a specialty of Osaka? I don’t know. In the Kanto region, it is called Imagawayaki. In Kansai, Imagawayaki is collectively called Gozakou. When I suddenly turned around, I saw the Sky Tree, but it was too big to look close.

I’m always surprised by the size. After filling my stomach, I headed for Sensoji Temple. The gate you can see in front of you is the “Hozomon”. There is a five-storied pagoda further back. The principal image of Sensoji Temple is Sho Kanzeon Bodhisattva. When you pray, let’s chant “Namu Kanzeon Bodhisattva” in chorus.

By the time I go to pray, I’ve forgotten. Namu Kanzeon Bodhisattva Namu Kanzeon Bodhisattva This painting is an old landscape around Asakusa.

Sensoji Temple is said to have originated in 628 A.D., when a Kannon statue was caught in the net of two brothers fishing in the Sumida River, and the brothers’ husband became a monk and set up a temple in his home for a memorial service. This Kannon statue seems to be very small.

Sensoji Temple is said to have been visited by historical figures such as Tokugawa Ieyasu and Minamoto no Yoritomo. Hozomon is approaching. You can see the five-storied pagoda on the left. The weather was nice and the scenery was great. The amusement park can be seen a little in the background.

Yumi, do you understand Aun’s breathing? It’s not like our relationship. Aun breathing refers to the synchronization of breath when two or more people do something. The origin of this word is the “Agata-zo” and “Ugata-zo” at this gate. These two creatures came to be called “Aun.”

Once you pass through the Hozomon gate, you will see the main hall of Sensoji Temple. The main hall was rebuilt in 1958. It is a very impressive building with a large roof. Apply smoke to areas of your body that are not feeling well. Legs?

Yumi hurt her leg while training for a full marathon, so she pours smoke on her leg. Yujiro has a bad stomach, so he puts smoke on his stomach. Then I will visit the shrine. After visiting the shrine, draw a fortune. Sensoji Temple’s omikuji are famous for having many bad luck.

As a result of research, it seems that 30% of the cases are bad. Yumi seems to have only experienced bad behavior at Sensoji Temple. The fortune is 100 yen. Shake this box and tilt it to reveal a stick with a number written on it.

Take a fortune slip from the box that matches the number written on the stick. saw? Yumi seems to have seen it first. What do you think of the results of the Sensoji temple fortune, where 30% of the fortunes are said to be bad luck? Evil!

You see, after all, Sensoji Temple’s omikuji only yield bad luck. So what about Yujiro? Good luck! amazing! You did it. Well, I can totally forgive it if 30% of it is evil. If you tie the lucky fortune in the shrine grounds and return home, it will bring you blessings.

Please tie only Yumi, so I will only tie Yumi. Why are you grinning so much? After all, I was lucky! I have been walking to the Asakusa Nishi-Sando shopping street since the war.

In addition to gourmet food, this shopping street is like a theme park, with unique shops such as long-established shops selling costumes and Japanese swords. I came to Asakusa Kingyo, a shop where you can scoop goldfish all year round.

This shop is located near the entrance of the shopping street on the Sensoji Temple side. I’m good at scooping up goldfish. I’ve only scooped up goldfish a few times in my life. Goldfish scooping costs 400 yen and 2 coins. He said he was good at it, but he can’t catch goldfish.

You can get it! I finally got one. My result is 6 fish. Yujiro is trying. Two weak goldfish and one demekin. Get your winnings quickly! Yujiro is good. The highest record for that day was 46 fish! 46 fish is amazing. You can also take home the goldfish you catch.

We don’t take it home. It’s fun, so please give it a try. Thank you goldfish! Asakusa Hanayashiki is a 5-minute walk from Sensoji Temple. It’s a historic amusement park with a very retro feel. If you are interested, why not give it a try? Let’s go to Sky Tree!

Are you going on foot? I’ll walk. You can get there by walking in the direction you see the Sky Tree, so don’t worry even if you don’t have a map. It’s my first time walking around here, but I can’t imagine getting lost. Is this the Sumida River? Yes, it’s the Sumida River.

The beer-shaped building is the Asahi Group’s headquarters building. The distinctive monument next door is also the Asahi Beer building. It seems to represent “Asahi Beer’s burning heart as it leaps forward into the new century.” Now, I’m going to cross that bridge and go towards the Sky Tree.

It seems that the character Sorakara-chan is drawn in two places on that pedestrian bridge. I’ll walk around looking for it. It seems to be very difficult to find Sorakara-chan. Drive on the left on the pedestrian bridge. Sorakara-chan, I couldn’t find it. I searched a few places beforehand, but couldn’t find it.

If you walk normally, you won’t notice. We arrived at a facility called “Tokyo Mizumachi”. This is a community-type hostel that meets domestic and international lodging demand, and is a facility that includes a new type of restaurant, a fashionable general store, and a cafe that are integrated with the park and river environment.

Would you like to take a cafe break? It might be a good idea to get something to take out and eat at the park in front of it. I went to Mizutoha, a stylish cafe in Mizumachi, Tokyo. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy healthy and healthy dishes, mainly fermented foods.

The inside of the cafe is organic and has a natural and stylish atmosphere. Homemade ginger ale 800 yen. A very spicy ginger ale. Looks like it has cinnamon in it. Organic soy latte 700 yen. The people around me are eating set meals. looks delicious.

There were a lot of organic and healthy dishes, and they all looked delicious. Oh, I can’t stand my fingers when it comes to hot drinks. Yumi’s little finger sticks up when she drinks a drink. I didn’t raise my little finger that much.

After this, I’m going to walk to the Sky Tree and explore the commercial facility Solamachi below. We came very close to the Sky Tree. It is the world’s tallest tower with a height of 634m. My neck hurts when I look at it from directly below. However, Skytree is not the world’s tallest building.

It’s the tallest tower in the world. The world’s tallest building is Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates. As a tower, it is the tallest not only in Japan but also in the world. Now, let’s go to Solamachi! Sorakara-chan will welcome you.

Tokyo Solamachi is a commercial facility located at the foot of Tokyo Skytree. It is lined with restaurants and shops, many of which are new to Tokyo. Since it was Christmas time, a Christmas market was being held. I decided to eat some churros. I’ll enjoy having this! good! It’s warm.

That’s about 80 yen per bite. It’s a Christmas market, so prices are high. Now, let’s go up to the Sky Tree. Let’s go! I have booked my ticket in advance. You can issue tickets using a QR code without having to wait in line.

There are same-day tickets available, but advance reservations are recommended as there will be lines. The Sky Tree is under construction. I went to see it when it was under construction. At this time, it happened to be a collaboration event with Chiikawa. Skytree is still very popular and there are many people lining up.

Since I have made a reservation, I can issue tickets smoothly without lining up. Observation deck + observation gallery 3,000 yen for adults. There are two types of tickets.

There are tickets that take you to the Observatory Deck, 350m above the ground, and tickets that take you to the Observation Gallery, which is 458m above the ground. Adults can buy tickets cheaper by 300 to 400 yen if they purchase them in advance. Take the elevator to the observatory deck. arrival!

Chikawa’s character destroys the atmosphere. A night view of Tokyo seen from 350m above ground. You can also see Tokyo Tower in the distance. Christmas and Chikawa events overlap, so it’s very crowded. Chikawa is above the middle. What’s the character on the right? There is also a cafe on the Hachiware

Observatory Deck, where you can enjoy tea time while looking at the view 350m above the ground. This is 350m. Since we purchased a set ticket for the Tembo Galleria, we will continue to climb up to the 450m point. A video of Chikawa is playing in the elevator. Arrived at the Tembo Galleria.

The building looks smaller than at the 350m point. I can clearly see the path I walked from Sensoji Temple today. The highest point that the general public can reach. However, it is still about two-thirds of the height of the entire Sky Tree. Skytree has an authentic restaurant.

It was fully booked. This is a very popular restaurant. This restaurant has a great view and serves delicious food, so please come and try it out. I’m curious, I’d like to visit once. Looks like there’s a glass floor ahead. glass floor. You can walk on the glass bottom.

So, I returned to the ground. Today I spent a day sightseeing from Asakusa to Tokyo Skytree. It’s been a while since I’ve been around Asakusa. I see, Yumi has been here many times. This is probably my second time visiting the Sky Tree.

You’ll get a better sense of the height if you visit during the day, so it might be more enjoyable if you plan to climb the Sky Tree first and then head to Asakusa. That’s all for a one-day sightseeing plan around Asakusa! See you again on your next trip!
